Synthesis of yttrium and cerium doped ZnO nanoparticles as highly inexpensive and stable photocatalysts for hydrogen evolution显示文摘Yttrium and cerium co-doped ZnO nanoparticles were synthesized by combustion route and characterized using X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),Brunauer-Emmett-Teller(BET),energy dispersive spectroscopy(EDS),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),UV-visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy(UV-vis DRS),photoluminescence(PL)and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS)techniques. The introduction of yttrium ions has efficiently increased the relative percentage of Ce^(3+)ions in ZnO.Yttrium and cerium co-doped ZnO shows efficient photo activity for hydrogen evolution(10.61 mmol/((g·h))higher than previously reported optimal value for rare earth codoped ZnO photocatalysts. This remarkably increased hydrogen evolution can be ascribed to the synergy between electronic anchoring effect of Y^(3+)/Y^(2+)and Ce^(4+)/Ce^(3+)redox couples. This report presents new idea for the synthesis of efficient photocatalyst using economical route and ion anchoring effect. The hydrogen evolution was also tested using Na_(2)S and Na_(2)SO_(3)as electron donors under visible light illumination. The synthesized photocatalysts also exhibit high stability. | Irshad Ahmad Muhammad Shoaib Akhtar Mian Faisal Manzoor Muhammad Wajid Muhammad Noman Ejaz Ahmed Mukhtar Ahmad Waheed Qamar Khan Anwar M.Rana | 2021 | Journal of Rare Earths2021,39,4: | 2

Suitable energy platform significantly improves charge separation of g-C3N4 for CO2 reduction and pollutant oxidation under visible-light显示文摘The photocatalytic activities of g-C3N4 can be significantly improved by increasing life time of the photogenerated charges. Here, in this work we introduced TiO2 as proper energy platform to accept the photogenerated electrons from g-C3N4 during photocatalysis. The nanophotocatalysts formed from the combination of a suitable amount of TiO2 nanoparticles and g-C3N4 nanosheets showed 8.75 and 4.22% enhancement in photocatalytic activities for CO2 reduction and 2-chlorophenol(2-CP) degradation under visible light illumination as compared to bare g-C3N4. Based on the surface photovoltage spectra, photoluminescence spectra and examination of formed hydroxyl radicals, it was confirmed that these enhanced photoactivities were attributed to the much-improved charge separation via the electron transfer from g-C3N4 to TiO2. From trapping experiments,it was found that hydroxyl radicals were the major species involved in the photocatalytic degradation of 2-CP.This study is helpful to synthesize efficient photocatalysts to cope with energy and environmental issues. | Amir Zada Nauman Ali Fazle Subhan Natasha Anwar Muhammad Ishaq Ali Shah Muhammad Ateeq Zahid Hussain Khair Zaman Momin Khan | 2019 | Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2019,29,2: | 1
Integrated Weed Management Through Tillage and Herbicides for Wheat Production in Rice-Wheat Cropping System in Northwestern Pakistan显示文摘Conservational tillage (CT) in combination with broad spectrum herbicide may be more efficient and economical in controlling weeds, reducing cost of cultivation, and enhancing wheat yield. Field experiments were carried out to evaluate the effect of tillage and herbicides on weeds and wheat yield under rice-wheat cropping system (RWCS). The results indicated that broad spectrum herbicides particularly, carfentrazone ethyl ester + isoproturon (Affinity 50 WDG) reduced weeds density by 93 and 95% compared to control and also produced the maximum grain yield (6 818 and 6 996 kg ha-1) and HI (harvest index, 44.7 and 44.6%) in 2007-2008 and 2008-2009 growing seasons, respectively. The maximum weeds infestation and the lowest yield were recorded in control. Tillage methods significantly influenced grain yield and HI, while no significant effect on all other parameters. The overall mean yield was significantly higher in zero tillage (5 575 kg ha-1) and reduced tillage (5 584 kg ha-1) compared to CT (5 479 kg ha-1). Besides increasing wheat yield, Affinity 50 WDG and zero tillage are important weed management practices that can be integrated into wheat production in RWCS. However, in case of perennial weeds or insect pests?infestation, CT in combination with Affinity 50 WDG would be more productive than conservation tillage. | Khalid Usman Inayat Ullah Said Mir Khan Muhammad Umar Khan Said Ghulam Muhammad Anwar Khan | 2012 | Journal of Integrative Agriculture2012,11,6: | 1

Measuring quality of experience for 360-degree videos in virtual reality显示文摘In recent years,we witness dramatic growing attention in immersive media technologies like 360-degree videos and virtual reality(VR).However, measuring the quality-of-experience(QoE)for 360-degree VR videos is not a trivial task.Streaming such videos to head mounted displays(HMDs)is extremely bandwidth-demanding when compared to traditional 2D videos. In HTTP adaptive streaming,QoE tends to deteriorate significantly during fluctuating network conditions, which results in various bitrate changes and causes multiple stalling events during playback. Thus, understanding how the human visual system perceives 360-degree video with the effect of stalling and different bitrate levels becomes inevitable. In this paper,we investigate the impact of stalling on users QoE under different bitrate levels and the interaction between stalling event and bitrate level for 360-degree videos in VR.To aim this,we first build a 360-degree videos database by encoding videos in three different bitrate levels(1,5,and 15 Mbps)with 4 K resolutions(3840×1920 pixels). We then simulate various stalling events in the videos and conduct a subjective experiment in a virtual reality environment to investigate the human responses. Finally,we use a Bayesian method to estimate and predict the QoE while measuring the quality drop owing to various stalling events and bitrate changes.Proposed solution and prediction results show a strong dependency between playback stalling and bitrate of 360-degree video in VR.Stalling always impacts the QoE of 360-degree videos, but the strength of this negative impact depends on the video bitrate level. The adverse effect of stalling events is more profound when bitrate level approaches to the high and low end, which is in close agreement with subjective opinion. | Muhammad Shahid ANWAR Jing WANG Asad ULLAH Wahab KHAN Sadique AHMAD Zesong FEI | 2020 | Science China(Information Sciences)2020,63,10: | 1

Stochastic Analysis for the Dynamics of a Poliovirus Epidemic Model显示文摘Most developing countries such as Afghanistan,Pakistan,India,Bangladesh, and many more are still fighting against poliovirus.According to the World Health Organization, approximately eighteen million people have been infected with poliovirus in the last two decades. In Asia, still, some countries are suffering from the virus. The stochastic behavior of the poliovirus through the transition probabilities and non-parametric perturbation with fundamental properties are studied. Some basic properties of the deterministic model are studied, equilibria, local stability around the stead states, and reproduction number.Euler Maruyama, stochastic Euler, and stochastic Runge-Kutta study the behavior of complex stochastic differential equations. The main target of this study is to develop a nonstandard computational method that restores dynamical features like positivity, boundedness, and dynamical consistency.Unfortunately, the existing methods failed to fix the actual behavior of the disease. The comparison of the proposed approach with existing methods is investigated. | Ali Raza Dumitru Baleanu Zafar Ullah Khan Muhammad Mohsin Nauman Ahmed Muhammad Rafiq Pervez Anwar | 2023 | Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2023,,7: | 1
Aspect Level Songs Rating Based Upon Reviews in English显示文摘With the advancements in internet facilities, people are more inclined towards the use of online services. The service providers shelve their items for e-users.These users post their feedbacks, reviews, ratings, etc.after the use of the item. The enormous increase in these reviews has raised the need for an automated system to analyze these reviews to rate these items.Sentiment Analysis(SA)is a technique that performs such decision analysis. This research targets the ranking and rating through sentiment analysis of these reviews,on different aspects. As a case study,Songs are opted to design and test the decision model.Different aspects of songs namely music, lyrics, song, voice and video are picked. For the reason, reviews of 20 songs are scraped from YouTube,pre-processed and formed a dataset.Different machine learning algorithms—Naïve Bayes(NB),Gradient Boost Tree,Logistic Regression LR,K-Nearest Neighbors(KNN)and Artificial Neural Network(ANN)are applied.ANN performed the best with 74.99%accuracy.Results are validated using K-Fold. | Muhammad Aasim Qureshi Muhammad Asif Saira Anwar Umar Shaukat Atta-ur-Rahman Muhammad Adnan Khan Amir Mosavi | 2023 | Computers, Materials & Continua2023,,2: | 0
Brain Tumor Segmentation in Multimodal MRI Using U-Net Layered Structure显示文摘The brain tumour is the mass where some tissues become old or damaged, but they do not die or not leave their space.Mainly brain tumour masses occur due to malignant masses. These tissues must die so that new tissues are allowed to be born and take their place.Tumour segmentation is a complex and time-taking problem due to the tumour’s size, shape, and appearance variation.Manually finding such masses in the brain by analyzing Magnetic Resonance Images(MRI)is a crucial task for experts and radiologists.Radiologists could not work for large volume images simultaneously, and many errors occurred due to overwhelming image analysis. The main objective of this research study is the segmentation of tumors in brain MRI images with the help of digital image processing and deep learning approaches. This research study proposed an automatic model for tumor segmentation in MRI images. The proposed model has a few significant steps, which first apply the pre-processing method for the whole dataset to convert Neuroimaging Informatics Technology Initiative(NIFTI)volumes into the 3D NumPy array. In the second step, the proposed model adopts U-Net deep learning segmentation algorithm with an improved layered structure and sets the updated parameters. In the third step, the proposed model uses state-of-the-art Medical Image Computing and Computer-Assisted Intervention(MICCAI)BRATS 2018 dataset withMRI modalities such as T1,T1Gd,T2,and Fluidattenuated inversion recovery(FLAIR).Tumour types in MRI images are classified according to the tumour masses.Labelling of these masses carried by state-of-the-art approaches such that the first is enhancing tumour(label 4),edema(label 2),necrotic and non-enhancing tumour core(label 1),and the remaining region is label 0 such that edema(whole tumour),necrosis and active. The proposed model is evaluated and gets the Dice Coefficient(DSC)value for High-grade glioma(HGG)volumes for their test set-a,test set-b,and test set-c 0.9795, 0.9855 and 0.9793, respectively. DSC value for the Low-gradeglioma (LGG) volumes for the test set is 0.9950, which shows the proposedmodel has achieved significant results in segmenting the tumour in MRI usingdeep learning approaches. The proposed model is fully automatic that canimplement in clinics where human experts consumemaximumtime to identifythe tumorous region of the brain MRI. The proposed model can help in a wayit can proceed rapidly by treating the tumor segmentation in MRI. | Muhammad Javaid Iqbal Muhammad Waseem Iqbal Muhammad Anwar Muhammad Murad Khan Abd Jabar Nazimi Mohammad Nazir Ahmad | 2023 | Computers, Materials & Continua2023,,3: | 0

Context Based Adoption of Ranking and Indexing Measures for Cricket Team Ranks显示文摘There is an international cricket governing body that ranks the expertise of all the cricket playing nations, known as the International Cricket Council(ICC).The ranking system followed by the ICC relies on the winnings and defeats of the teams. The model used by the ICC to implement rankings is deficient in certain key respects. It ignores key factors like winning margin and strength of the opposition.Various measures of the ranking concept are presented in this research. The proposed methods adopt the concepts of h-Index and PageRank for presenting more comprehensive ranking metrics. The proposed approaches not only rank the teams on their losing/winning stats but also take into consideration the margin of winning and the quality of the opposition.Three cricket team ranking techniques are presented i.e.,(1)Cricket Team-Index(ct-index),(2)Cricket Team Rank(CTR)and(3)Weighted Cricket Team Rank(WCTR).The proposed metrics are validated through the collection of cricket dataset, extracted from Cricinfo, having instances for all the three formats of the game i.e.,T20 International(T20i),One Day International(ODI)and Test matches. The comparative analysis between the proposed and existing techniques, for all the three formats,is presented as well. | Raja Sher Afgun Usmani Syed Muhammad Saqlain Shah Muhammad Sher Ramzan Abdullah Saad A.L-Malaise AL-Ghamdi Anwar Ghani Imran Khan Farrukh Saleem | 2020 | Computers, Materials & Continua2020,,11: | 0
Towards Cache-Assisted Hierarchical Detection for Real-Time Health Data Monitoring in IoHT显示文摘Real-time health data monitoring is pivotal for bolstering road services’safety, intelligence, and efficiency within the Internet of Health Things(IoHT)framework.Yet,delays in data retrieval can markedly hinder the efficacy of big data awareness detection systems. We advocate for a collaborative caching approach involving edge devices and cloud networks to combat this. This strategy is devised to streamline the data retrieval path, subsequently diminishing network strain.Crafting an adept cache processing scheme poses its own set of challenges, especially given the transient nature of monitoring data and the imperative for swift data transmission, intertwined with resource allocation tactics. This paper unveils a novel mobile healthcare solution that harnesses the power of our collaborative caching approach, facilitating nuanced health monitoring via edge devices. The system capitalizes on cloud computing for intricate health data analytics, especially in pinpointing health anomalies.Given the dynamic locational shifts and possible connection disruptions,we have architected a hierarchical detection system, particularly during crises. This system caches data efficiently and incorporates a detection utility to assess data freshness and potential lag in response times.Furthermore,we introduce the Cache-Assisted Real-Time Detection(CARD)model, crafted to optimize utility.Addressing the inherent complexity of the NP-hard CARD model,we have championed a greedy algorithm as a solution.Simulations reveal that our collaborative caching technique markedly elevates the Cache Hit Ratio(CHR)and data freshness, outshining its contemporaneous benchmark algorithms. The empirical results underscore the strength and efficiency of our innovative IoHT-based health monitoring solution. To encapsulate, this paper tackles the nuances of real-time health data monitoring in the IoHT landscape, presenting a joint edge-cloud caching strategy paired with a hierarchical detection system. Our methodology yields enhanced cache efficiency and data freshness. The corroborative numerical data accentuates the feasibility and relevance of our model, casting a beacon for the future trajectory of real-time health data monitoring systems. | Muhammad Tahir Mingchu Li Irfan Khan Salman AAl Qahtani Rubia Fatima Javed Ali Khan Muhammad Shahid Anwar | 2023 | Computers, Materials & Continua2023,77,11: | 0
Abundance and Breeding of the Common Skittering Frog(Euphlyctis cyanophlyctis)and Bull Frog(Hoplobatrachus tigerinus)at Rawal Lake,Islamabad,Pakistan显示文摘The population density and breeding of two frog species,i.e.,the Skittering Frog(Euphlyctis cyanophlyctis)and the Bull Frog(Hoplobatrachus tigerinus)were studied at Rawal Lake,Islamabad,Pakistan,by using visual encounter method from September 2009 to August 2010.Mean population density for the two frogs was 1.55±0.44frogs per ha,with that for the Skittering Frog being 1.09±0.33 frogs/ha and that of the Bull Frog 0.46±0.11 frog/ha,respectively.It is concluded that both frog species are explosive breeders,i.e.,their breeding activities were confi ned to the f irst showers of the monsoon season. The mean spawn weight of the Skittering Frog was 1.5 g with more than 1000eggs in each spawn, while that of the Bull Frog was 0.26 g with less than 1000 eggs in a spawn. The spawning sites of the two species were investigated in detail.Generally,no threat to their populations was observed. However, the opening of the spillway of Rawal Dam following the torrential rain destroyed the breeding sites of the frogs. It is maintained that the event did not produce any signif icant impact on their populations and breeding as the two species were quite common. | Fozia TABASSUM Muhammad RAIS Maqsood ANWAR Tariq MEHMOOD Iftikhar HUSSAIN Shahid ALI KHAN | 2011 | Asian Herpetological Research2011,2,4: | 0
Image-Based Automatic Energy Meter Reading Using Deep Learning显示文摘We propose to perform an image-based framework for electrical energy meter reading. Our aim is to extract the image region that depicts the digits and then recognize them to record the consumed units.Combining the readings of serial numbers and energy meter units,an automatic billing system using the Internet of Things and a graphical user interface is deployable in a real-time setup. However, such region extraction and character recognition become challenging due to image variations caused by several factors such as partial occlusion due to dust on the meter display, orientation and scale variations caused by camera positioning, and non-uniform illumination caused by shades. To this end,our work evaluates and compares the stateof-the art deep learning algorithm You Only Look Once(YOLO)along with traditional handcrafted features for text extraction and recognition. Our image dataset contains 10,000 images of electrical energymeters and is further expanded by data augmentation such as in-plane rotation and scaling tomake the deep learning algorithms robust to these image variations. For training and evaluation, the image dataset is annotated to produce the ground truth of all the images.Consequently,YOLO achieves superior performance over the traditional handcrafted features with an average recognition rate of 98%for all the digits. It proves to be robust against the mentioned image variations compared with the traditional handcrafted features. Our proposed method can be highly instrumental in reducing the time and effort involved in the currentmeter reading, where workers visit door to door, take images ofmeters and manually extract readings from these images. | Muhammad Imran Hafeez Anwar Muhammad Tufail Abdullah Khan Murad Khan Dzati Athiar Ramli | 2023 | Computers, Materials & Continua2023,,1: | 0
New Hybrid EWMA Charts for Efficient Process Dispersion Monitoring with Application in Automobile Industry显示文摘The EWMAcharts are thewell-knownmemory-type charts used formonitoring the small-to-intermediate shifts in the process parameters(location and/or dispersion). The hybrid EWMA(HEWMA)charts are enhanced version of the EWMA charts, which effectivelymonitor the process parameters. This paper aims to develop two new uppersided HEWMAcharts for monitoring shifts in process variance,i.e.,HEWMA1 and HEWMA2 charts. The design structures of the proposed HEWMA1 and HEWMA2 charts are based on the concept of integrating the features of two EWMAcharts.TheHEWMA1 and HEWMA2charts plotting statistics are developed using one EWMAstatistic as input for the other EWMAstatistic.AMonte Carlo simulations method is used as a computational technique to determine the numerical results for the performance characteristics, such as average run length(ARL),median run length, and standard deviation run length(SDRL)for assessing the performance of the proposed HEWMA1 and HEWMA2 charts. In addition,to evaluate the overall performance of the proposed HEWMA1 and HEWMA2 charts, other numerical measures consisting of the extra quadratic loss(EQL),relative average run length(RARL),and performance comparison index(PCI)are also computed. The proposed HEWMA1 and HEWMA2 charts are compared to some existing charts, such as CH,CEWMA,HEWMA,AEWMAHHW1,HHW2,AIB-EWMA-I,and AIB-EWMA-II charts,on the basis aforementioned numerical measures. The comparison reveals that the proposed HEWMA1 and HEWMA2 charts achieve better detection ability against the existing charts. In the end,a real-life data application is also provided to enhance the implementation of the proposed HEWMA1 and HEWMA2 charts practically. | Xuechen Liu Majid Khan Zahid Rasheed Syed Masroor Anwar Muhammad Arslan | 2022 | Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2022,,5: | 0
