| 1 | Crosstalk of liver immune cells and cell death mechanisms in different murine models of liver injury and its clinical relevance显示文摘BACKGROUND: Liver inflammation or hepatitis is a result of pluripotent interactions of cell death molecules, cytokines, chemokines and the resident immune cells collectively called as microenvironment. The interplay of these inflammatory mediators and switching of immune responses during hepatotoxic, viral, drug-induced and immune cell-mediated hepatitis decide the fate of liver pathology. The present review aimed to describe the mechanisms of liver injury, its relevance to human liver pathology and insights for the future therapeutic interventions.DATA SOURCES: The data of mouse hepatic models and relevant human liver diseases presented in this review are systematically collected from Pub Med, Science Direct and the Web of Science databases published in English. RESULTS: The hepatotoxic liver injury in mice induced by the metabolites of CCl4, acetaminophen or alcohol represent necrotic cell death with activation of cytochrome pathway, formation of reactive oxygen species(ROS) and mitochondrial damage. The Fas or TNF-α induced apoptotic liver injury was dependent on activation of caspases, release of cytochrome c and apoptosome formation. The Con A-hepatitis demonstrated the involvement of TRAIL-dependent necrotic/necroptotic cell death with activation of RIPK1/3. The α-Gal Cer-induced liver injury was mediated by TNF-α. The LPS-induced hepatitis involved TNF-α, Fas/Fas L, and perforin/granzyme cell death pathways. The MHV3 or Poly(I:C) induced liver injury was mediated by natural killer cells and TNF-α signaling. The necrotic ischemia-reperfusion liver injury was mediated byhypoxia, ROS, and pro-inflammatory cytokines; however, necroptotic cell death was found in partial hepatectomy. The crucial role of immune cells and cell death mediators in viral hepatitis(HBV, HCV), drug-induced liver injury, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and alcoholic liver disease in human were discussed.CONCLUSIONS: The mouse animal models of hepatitis provide a parallel approach for the study of human liver pathology. | 2 | 长期施肥对棕壤有机碳储量及固碳速率的影响显示文摘利用棕壤肥料长期定位试验,研究了不同施肥条件下棕壤有机碳在0~60 cm土层的含量和储量特征以及土壤固碳速率.试验共设6个处理,即氮磷肥有机肥配施(M_2NP)、氮肥有机肥配施(M_2N)、单施有机肥(M_2)、单施氮肥(N)、氮磷肥配施(NP)和不施肥处理(CK).结果表明:经过31年长期不同施肥,各处理土壤有机碳(SOC)含量和储量的剖面分布均呈现随土层深度增加而显著降低的规律.本试验条件下M_2NP、M_2N、M_2、NP、N、CK处理的耕层有机碳富集系数分别为0.465、0.455、0.407、0.48_2、0.393、0.471,表明耕层土壤对有机碳的保持强度最强.在0~60 cm土层土壤有机碳储量表现为M_2NP、M_2N>M_2、NP>N>CK,有机肥和化肥配施能够显著提高土壤有机碳含量和储量.与试验前相比,CK处理各土层土壤有机碳含量和储量均显著降低.各处理碳库管理指数(CPMI)表现为M_2NP>M_2N>M_2>N>NP>CK.分析不同施肥处理土壤固碳速率可知,与试验前相比,CK处理表现为碳的净释放,固碳速率达-401.4 kg·hm^(-_2)·a^(-1);固碳速率最高的为M_2NP,M_2N,分别达到489kg·hm^(-_2)·a^(-1)、440._2 kg·hm^(-_2)·a^(-1).综合结果表明,化肥、有机肥配施所产生交互效应更有利于棕壤有机碳储量的增加及固碳速率的提高. | 兰宇 Muhammad Imran Asshraf 韩晓日 杨劲峰 吴正超 王月 李娜 | 2016 | 环境科学学报2016,36,1: | 21 |
| 3 | Chemical composition and antioxidant activity of certain Morus species显示文摘In the present work,the fruits of four Morus species,namely Morus alba (white mulberry),Morus nigra (black mulberry),Morus laevigata (large white fruit),and Morus laevigata (large black fruit),were analyzed for proximate composition,essential minerals,and antioxidant potentials.For this purpose,the ripe fruits were collected from the northern regions of Pakistan.The major nutritional components moisture,ash,lipids,proteins,fibres,carbohydrates,and total sugar) were found to be in the suitable range along with good computed energy.Total dry weight,pH,and titratable acidity (percent citric acid) were (17.60±1.94)–(21.97±2.34) mg/100 g,(3.20±0.07)–(4.78±0.15),and (0.84±0.40)%–(2.00±0.08)%,respectively.Low riboflavin (vitamin B2) and niacin (vitamin B3) contents were recorded in all the fruits,while ascorbic acid (vitamin C) was in the range from (15.20±1.25) to (17.03±1.71) mg/100 g fresh weight (FW).The mulberry fruits were rich with regard to the total phenol and alkaloid contents,having values of (880±7.20)–(1650±12.25) mg/100 g FW and (390±3.22)–(660±5.25) mg/100 g FW,respectively.Sufficient quantities of essential macro-(K,Ca,Mg,and Na) and micro-(Fe,Zn,and Ni) elements were found in all the fruits.K was the predominant element with concentration ranging from (1270±9.36) to (1731±11.50) mg/100 g,while Ca,Na,and Mg contents were (440±3.21)–(576±7.37),(260±3.86)–(280±3.50),and (240±3.51)–(360±4.20) mg/100 g,respectivly.The decreasing order of micro-minerals was Fe>Zn>Ni.The radical scavenging activity of methanolic extract of fruits was concentration-dependent and showed a correlation with total phenolic constituents of the respective fruits.Based on the results obtained,mulberry fruits were found to serve as a potential source of food diet and natural antioxidants. | Mohammad IMRAN Hamayun KHAN Mohibullah SHAH Rasool KHAN Faridullah KHAN | 2010 | Journal of Zhejiang University-Science B(Biomedicine & Biotechnology)2010,11,12: | 14 |

| 5 | Chemical composition, mechanism of antibacterial action and antioxidant activity of leaf essential oil of Forsythia koreana deciduous shrub显示文摘Objective: To identify the chemical constituents of leaf essential oil of Forsythia koreana(F. koreana) and evaluate its ef ects on bacterial strains. Methods: The essential oil of leaf of F. koreana was extracted by using hydrodistillation process and the volatile components investigated with the help of gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry. The antibacterial study was carried out with the help of agar disc dif usion method, MIC, MBC and viable count. The mode of action was determined with help of potassium ion l ux, cellular material release and scanning electron microscopy. The antioxidant activity was determined with the help of 2, 3-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl method, nitric oxide scavenging activity and superoxide anion radical scavenging assay. Results: Total ten compounds were identii ed as trans-phytol(42.73%), cis-3-hexenol(12.95%), 毬-linalool(10.68%), trans-2-hexenal(8.86%), trans-2-hexenol(8.86%), myrcenol(3.86%), 4-vinylphenyl acetate(3.86%),(4Z)-4,6-heptadien-1-ol(3.18%), lemonol(2.73%) and benzeneacetaldehyde(2.27%) by gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry. The antibacterial study was demonstrated that leaf essential oil of F. koreana act against foodborne and other pathogenic bacteria. The mode of action revealed that this essential oil acted on the cytoplasmic membrane, resulting in loss of integrity and increased permeability. In addition, leaf essential oil of F. koreana was shown to be rich in linalool, which contributes to improved antioxidant activity. | 6 | Relationship between hepatitis C virus infection and type 2 diabetes mellitus:Meta-analysis显示文摘AIM:To investigate the association between hepatitis C infection and type 2 diabetes mellitus.METHODS:Observational studies assessing the relationship between hepatitis C infection and type 2 diabetes mellitus were identified via electronic and hand searches.Studies published between 1988 to March 2011 were screened,according to the inclusion criteria set for the present analysis.Authors performed separate analyses for the comparisons between hepatitis C virus(HCV) infected and not infected,and HCV infected and hepatitis B virus infected.The included studies were further subgrouped according to the study design.Heterogenity was assessed using I2 statistics.The summary odds ratios with their corresponding 95% CIs were calculated based on a random-effects model.The included studies were subgrouped according to the study design.To assess any factor that could potentially affect the outcome,results were further stratified by age group(proportion of ≥ 40 years),gender(proportion of male gender),body mass index(BMI)(pro-portion of BMI ≥ 27),and family history of diabetes(i.e.,self reported).For stability of results,a sensitivity analysis was conducted including only prospective studies.RESULTS:Combining the electronic database and hand searches,a total of 35 observational studies(in 31 articles) were identified for the final analysis.Based on random-effects model,17 studies(n = 286 084) compared hepatitis C-infected patients with those who were uninfected [summary odds ratio(OR):1.68,95% CI:1.15-2.45].Of these 17 studies,7 were both a cross-sectional design(41.2%) and cohort design(41.2%),while 3 were case-control studies(17.6%).Nineteen studies(n = 51 156) compared hepatitis C-infected participants with hepatitis B-infected(summary OR:1.92,95% CI:1.41-2.62).Of these 19 studies,4(21.1%),6(31.6%) and 9(47.4%) were cross-sectional,cohort and case-control studies,respectively.A sensitivity analysis with 3 prospective studies indicated that hepatitis C-infected patients had a higher risk of developing type 2 diabetes compared with uninfected controls(summary odds ratio:1.41,95% CI:1.17-1.7;I2 = 0%).Among hepatitis C-infected patients,male patients(OR:1.26,95% CI:1.03-1.54) with age over 40 years(summary OR:7.39,95% CI:3.82-9.38) had an increased frequency of type 2 diabetes.Some caution must be taken in the interpretation of these results because there may be unmeasured confounding factors which may introduce bias.CONCLUSION:The findings support the association between hepatitis C infection and type 2 diabetes mellitus.The direction of association remains to be determined,however.Prospective studies with adequate sample sizes are recommended. | Cho Naing Joon Wah Mak Syed Imran Ahmed Mala Maung | 2012 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2012,18,14: | 12 |

| 8 | Whole-Genome Resequencing of a Worldwide Collection of Rapeseed Accessions Reveals the Genetic Basis of Ecotype Divergence显示文摘Rapeseed (Brassica napus),an important oilseed crop,has adapted to diverse climate zones and latitudes by forming three main ecotype groups,namely winter,semiwinter,and spring types. However,genetic variations underlying the divergence of these ecotypes are largely unknown. Here,we report the global pattern of genetic polymorphisms in rapeseed determined by resequencing a worldwide collection of 991 germplasm accessions.A total of 5.56 and 5.53 million singlenucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs)as Well as 1.86 and 1.92 million InDels were identified by mapping reads to the reference genomes of 'Darmor-bzh'and 'Tapidor,'respectively.We generated a map of allelic drift paths that shows splits and mixtures of the main populations,and revealed an asymmetric evolution of the two subgenomes of B.napus by calculating the genetic diversity and linkage disequilibrium parameters.Selective-sweep analysis revealed genetic changes in genes orthologous to those regulating various aspects of plant development and response to stresses.A genome-wide association study identified SNPs in the promoter regions of FLOWERING LOCUS T and FLOWERING LOCUS C orthologs that corresponded to the different rapeseed ecotype groups. | 9 | Hepatitis B virus therapy:What's the future holding for us?显示文摘Hepatitis B is one of the leading causes of liver cancer worldwide and unfortunately the number of people affected with hepatitis B virus(HBV) infection is still on the rise. Although the HBV has been known to cause fatal illness since decades but the population effected by this lethal virus have still only a few options for its management. The major treatment strategies include interferons and nucleos(t)ide analogues. These agents have so far produced unsatisfactory results in terms of complete virus eradication. Interferons cannot be used for long term therapy because of their potential side effects. Prolong treatment with nucleos(t)ide analogues has also been reported to cause serious side effects besides the increasing resistance by the virus. The need for new innovative solutions for treatment of HBV has been realized by global research institutes and pharmaceutical industry. Present review focuses in detail on the new ideas that are being transformed into therapeutic tools for use as future therapies in HBV infection. Modern drug designing and screening methods have made the drug discovery process shorter and more reliable. HBV therapeutics will take a new turn in coming years owing to these intelligent drug designing and screening methods. This industry is responsible for 5% of GHGs emissions and is among the top industrial sources of carbon dioxide(CO_(2)) emissions. Therefore, CO_(2) emissions reduction from cement production process has been always an appealing subject for researches in universities and industry. Various efforts have been carried out to mitigate the huge mass of CO_(2) emissions from the cement industry. Although, majority of these strategies are technically viable, due to various barriers, the level of CO_(2) mitigation in cement industry is still not satisfactory. Among numerous researches on this topic, only a few have tried to answer why CO_(2) abatement strategies are not globally practiced yet. | 11 | Burden of care in caregivers of patients with alcohol use disorder and schizophrenia and its association with anxiety, depression and quality of life显示文摘Background Caregivers play a pivotal role in providing care for mentally ill patients.Increase in caregiver burden can make them vulnerable to mental illness themselves.Aims We assessed the severity of burden of care and its association with depression,anxiety and quality of life among caregivers of patients with alcohol use disorder(AUD)and schizophrenia.Methods This was an observational,cross-sectional,single-centred study of 50 consecutive caregivers of patients with AUD and schizophrenia.Participants were recruited from the psychiatry outpatient department of a tertiary care hospital between January and June 2017.The caregivers were further assessed by demographic details,Hospital Anxiety Depression Scale for assessment of depression and anxiety,Zarit Burden Interview for assessment of caregiver burden and WHO Quality Of Life-BREF for assessment of quality of life.Statistical data were analysed using GraphPad InStat V.3.06(California).Multiple linear regression analysis was applied to identify the predictors of caregiver burden.Results Burden of care experienced by caregivers of patients with AUD is as high as that of caregivers of patients with schizophrenia(U=1142.5,p=0.46).Caregivers experiencing high burden of care are likely to have symptoms of anxiety(U=22,p<0.001),depression(U=32,p<0.001)and poor quality of life(U=84.5,p<0.001).Female caregivers are likely to experience higher burden of care(U=819.5,p=0.006).For caregivers of patients with schizophrenia,anxiety,environmental health,socioeconomic status and patients,occupation can predict burden of care,while for caregivers of patients with AUD,depression and environmental health can predict burden of care.Conclusion Our study suggests that caregivers of patients with AUD experience burden of care as high as that of caregivers of patients with schizophrenia.Caregivers with high burden of care are more likely to have depression,anxiety and poor quality of life.Trial registration number CTRI/2017/03/008224. | Sneha Vadher Rishi Desai Bharat Pancha Ashok Vala Imran Jahangirali Ratnani Mihir P Rupani Kinjal Vasava | 2020 | General Psychiatry2020,33,4: | 7 |
| 12 | Hepatitis C virus NS5A promotes insulin resistance through IRS-1 serine phosphorylation and increased gluconeogenesis显示文摘AIM: To investigate the mechanisms of insulin resistance in human hepatoma cells expressing hepatitis C virus(HCV) nonstructural protein 5A(NS5A).METHODS: The human hepatoma cell lines,Huh7 and Huh7.5,were infected with HCV or transientlytransfected with a vector expressing HCV NS5 A. The effect of HCV NS5 A on the status of the critical players involved in insulin signaling was analyzed using realtime quantitative polymerase chain reaction and Western blot assays. Data were analyzed using Graph Pad Prism version 5.0.RESULTS: To investigate the effect of insulin treatment on the players involved in insulin signaling pathway,we analyzed the status of insulin receptor substrate-1(IRS-1) phosphorylation in HCV infected cells or Huh7.5 cells transfected with an HCV NS5 A expression vector. Our results indicated that there was an increased phosphorylation of IRS-1(Ser307) in HCV infected or NS5 A transfected Huh7.5 cells compared to their respective controls. Furthermore,an increased phosphorylation of Akt(Ser473) was observed in HCV infected and NS5 A transfected cells compared to their mock infected cells. In contrast,we observed decreased phosphorylation of Akt Thr308 phosphorylation in HCV NS5 A transfected cells. These results suggest that Huh7.5 cells either infected with HCV or ectopically expressing HCV NS5 A alone have the potential to induce insulin resistance by the phosphorylation of IRS-1 at serine residue(Ser307) followed by decreased phosphorylation of Akt Thr308,Fox01 Ser256 and GSK3β Ser9,the downstream players of the insulin signalingpathway. | 14 | 改革开放后我国产业转移方向实证研究显示文摘采用省际数据,实证分析了我国东部地区各省份之间的区域经济空间相关性,结论表明:东部各省份的区域经济发展一体化程度较高,同时发现相邻省份中具有共同边界的区域其经济发展相关性也较高。以此为基础,使用1978-2014年的总体工业数据,借助工业净产值份额和第二产业劳动力就业份额两个指标,研究并测度了改革开放后我国产业的转移方向,结论表明:(1)从改革开放后的1978到2003年这段时期内,我国几乎没有发生东西方向上的产业转移,但在2003—2013年则发生了由东向西的制造业产业转移现象,同时向中部转移的幅度大于向西部转移的幅度,随后这一转移趋势又发生'逆转';(2)在东部地区内部发生了由北向南的产业转移现象,此外上海作为初始工业化程度较高的地域,产业转移方向表现为南北两个方向;(3)与实证分析相对应,距离越近产业转移速度越快。最后,得出将东部地区作为我国经济运行主部的结论,而中西部则要发挥比较优势、承接相关产业、积极参与东部分工体系、推动自身经济发展。 | 安虎森 郑文光 Muhammad Imran | 2017 | 贵州社会科学2017,,6: | 6 |

| 16 | Correlation between KCNQ1 and KCNJ11 gene polymorphisms and type 2 and posttransplant diabetes mellitus in the Asian Indian population显示文摘Type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)and post-transplant diabetes mellitus(PTDM)share a common pathophysiology.However,diabetes mellitus is a complex disease,and T2DM and PTDM have different etiologies.T2DM is a metabolic disorder,characterized by persistent hyperglycemia,whereas PTDM is a condition of abnormal glucose tolerance,with variable onset after organ transplant.The KCNQ1 and KCNJ11 gene encode potassium channels,which mediate insulin secretion from pancreatic b-cells,and KCN gene mutations are correlated with the development of diabetes.However,no studies have been carried out to establish an association between KCNQ1 and KCNJ11 gene polymorphisms and T2DM and PTDM.Therefore,our study was aimed at the identification of the role of KCNQ1 and KCNJ11 gene polymorphisms associated with T2DM and the risk of developing PTDM in the Asian Indian population.We have carried out a caseecontrol study including 250 patients with T2DM,250 control subjects,42 patients with PTDM and 98 subjects with non-PTDM.PCR-RFLP analysis was carried out following the isolation of genomic DNA from EDTA-blood samples.The results of the present study reveal that two single nucleotide polymorphisms(rs2283228 and rs5210,of the KCNQ1 and KCNJ11 genes,respectively)are associated with both T2DM and PTDM.The results of our study suggest a role of KCNQ1 and KCNJ11 gene variants in the increased risk of T2DM and PTDM in the Asian Indian population. | Imran Ali Khan Kiran Kumar Vattam Parveen Jahan Kamal Kiran Mukkavali Qurratulain Hasan Pragna Rao | 2015 | Genes & Diseases2015,2,3: | 6 |

Using Gas Chromatography with Flame Ionization Detector显示文摘The variation among Chinese genotypes of Brassica napus L.for seed tocopherols content and their analysis using gas chromatography has not been comprehensively reported till to date.In the present study,the tocopherol contents of four Chinese genotypes of Brassica napus L.,namely,Gaoyou 605,Zhejiang 619,Zheshuang 758,and Zheshuang 72,were evaluated using three modified sample preparation protocols(P1,P2,and P3) for tocopherol extraction.These methods were distinguished as follows.Protocol one(P1) included the evaporation of solvent after extraction without silylation.Protocol two(P2) followed the direct supernatant collection after overnight extraction without drying and silylation.Protocol three(P3) included trimethylsilylation with N,O-bis(trimethylsilyl) trifluoroacetamide.Genotypic comparison of tocopherol and its isoforms revealed that Gaoyou 605 was dominant over the other genotypes with(140.5±10.5),(316.2± 9.2),and(559.1±24.3) μg g-1 of seed meal α-,γ-,and total(T-) tocopherol,respectively,and a 0.44±0.04 α-to γ-tocopherol ratio.The comparison of the sample preparation protocols,on the other hand,suggests that P3 is the most suitable method for the tocopherol extraction from Brassica oilseeds and for the analysis of tocopherols using gas chromatography flame ionization detector(GC-FID).Trimethylsilylation is the key step differentiating P3 from P1 and P2.Variations detected in tocopherol contents among the Chinese rapeseed(B.napus) genotypes signify the need to quantify a wide range of rapeseed germplasm for seed tocopherol dynamics in short and crop improvement in long. | Nazim Hussain Zahra Jabeen LI Yuan-long CHEN Ming-xun LI Zhi-lan GUO Wan-li Imran Haider Shamsi CHEN Xiao-yang JIANG Li-xi | 2013 | Journal of Integrative Agriculture2013,12,5: | 6 |

| 19 | Estimating the basic reproductive ratio for the Ebola outbreak in Liberia and Sierra Leone显示文摘Background:Ebola virus disease has reemerged as a major public health crisis in Africa,with isolated cases also observed globally,during the current outbreak.Methods:To estimate the basic reproductive ratio R0,which is a measure of the severity of the outbreak,we developed a SEIR(susceptible-exposed-infected-recovered)type deterministic model,and used data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC),for the Ebola outbreak in Liberia and Sierra Leone.Two different data sets are available:one with raw reported data and one with corrected data(as the CDC suspects under-reporting).Results:Using a deterministic ordinary differential equation transmission model for Ebola epidemic,the basic reproductive ratio R0 for Liberia resulted to be 1.757 and 1.9 for corrected and uncorrected case data,respectively.For Sierra Leone,R0 resulted to be 1.492 and 1.362 for corrected and uncorrected case data,respectively.In each of the two cases we considered,the estimate for the basic reproductive ratio was initially greater than unity leading to an epidemic outbreak.Conclusion:We obtained robust estimates for the value of R0 associated with the 2014 Ebola outbreak,and showed that there is close agreement between our estimates of R0.Analysis of our model also showed that effective isolation is required,with the contact rate in isolation less than one quarter of that for the infected non-isolated population,and that the fraction of high-risk individuals must be brought to less than 10%of the overall susceptible population,in order to bring the value of R0 to less than 1,and hence control the outbreak. | Adnan Khan Mahim Naveed Muhammad Dur-e-Ahmad Mudassar Imran | 2015 | Infectious Diseases of Poverty2015,4,1: | 5 |
| 20 | 自体肋软骨“瓦合支架法”在鼻综合整形术中的应用效果研究显示文摘目的:研究自体肋软骨“瓦合支架法”在鼻综合整形术中的临床应用效果。方法:纳入158例实行鼻综合整形术的就医者,选取右侧第7肋内侧部分肋软骨作为鼻中隔延伸移植物(Septal extensional graft,SEG)、鼻小柱支撑移植物(The nasal columella support graft,STRUT),按照“瓦合支架法”塑造鼻形,收集术前、术后鼻部照片,测量鼻部形态数据,行统计学处理。结果:153例就医者术后愈合良好,无鼻部形变,歪曲,鼻形态明显改善;5例出现切口感染。鼻宽/鼻高、鼻根宽/鼻高及鼻根高/鼻高术前术后比较差异无统计学意义(P>0.05);鼻尖高/鼻高及鼻背长/鼻高较术前有所改善,差异有统计学意义(P<0.05)。就医者满意度为94%。结论:自体肋软骨“瓦合支架法”在鼻综合整形术中的应用对于抬高鼻尖、延长鼻背、改善鼻部整体美学形态及减少术后并发症均有明确的改善效果。 | 崔正军 孟庆鹏 王晓博 孙佳琳 Imran KHAN 杨森 池凯 | 2021 | 中国美容医学2021,30,4: | 5 |
