1Essential oils used in aromatherapy: A systemic review显示文摘Nowadays, use of alternative and complementary therapies with mainstream medicine has gained the momentum. Aromatherapy is one of the complementary therapies which use essential oils as the major therapeutic agents to treat several diseases. The essential or volatile oils are extracted from the flowers, barks, stem, leaves, roots, fruits and other parts of the plant by various methods. It came into existence after the scientists deciphered the antiseptic and skin permeability properties of essential oils. Inhalation, local application and baths are the major methods used in aromatherapy that utilize these oils to penetrate the human skin surface with marked aura. Once the oils are in the system, they remodulate themselves and work in a friendly manner at the site of malfunction or at the affected area. This type of therapy utilizes various permutation and combinations to get relief from numerous ailments like depression, indigestion, headache, insomnia, muscular pain, respiratory problems, skin ailments, swollen joints, urine associated complications etc. The essential oils are found to be more beneficial when other aspects of life and diet are given due consideration. This review explores the information available in the literature regarding therapeutic, medical, cosmetic, psychological, olfactory, massage aromatherapy, safety issues and different plants used in aromatherapy. 2Extraction and characterization of alumina nanopowders from aluminum dross by acid dissolution process显示文摘A significant amount of aluminum dross is available as a waste in foundry industries in Bangladesh. In this study, alumina was extracted from aluminum dross collected from two foundry industries situated in Dhamrai and Manikgang, near the capital city, Dhaka. Aluminum dross samples were found to approximately contain 75wt% Al2O3 and 12wt% SiO2. An acid dissolution process was used to recover the alumina value from the dross. The effects of various parameters, e.g., temperature, acid concentration, and leaching time, on the extraction of alumina were studied to optimize the dissolution process. First, Al(OH)3 was produced in the form of a gel. Calcination of the Al(OH)3 gel at 1000°C, 1200°C, and 1400°C for 2 h produced θ-Al2O3,(α+θ)-Al2O3, and α-alumina powder, respectively. Thermal characterization of the Al(OH)3 gel was performed by thermogravimetric/differential thermal analysis(TG/DTA) and differential scanning calorimetry(DSC). The phases and crystallite size of the alumina were determined by X-ray diffraction analysis. The dimensions of the alumina were found to be on the nano level. The chemical compositions of the aluminum dross and alumina were determined by X-ray fluorescence(XRF) spectroscopy. The microstructure and morphology of the alumina were studied with scanning electron microscopy. The purity of the alumina extracted in this study was found to be 99.0%. 3外源一氧化氮对盐胁迫下高粱种子萌发及淀粉转化的影响显示文摘【目的】探讨外源一氧化氮(NO)对盐胁迫下高粱种子萌发过程的生理生化调节作用,为揭示甜高粱种子的萌发生理及其化学调控提供理论依据。【方法】以晋甜08-1为试材,用NaCl浓度(mmol·L-1)为0、50、100、150、200、300和400的溶液培养高粱种子,通过萌发率确定高粱种子萌发期的耐盐适宜浓度、半致死浓度和极限浓度。用0.05、0.1、0.2、0.4、0.6和0.8 mmol·L-1硝普钠(SNP,NO供体)在25℃黑暗条件下浸种12 h,以150 mmol·L-1的NaCl模拟盐胁迫,在培养36 h统计发芽势,72 h统计发芽率,在5 d时取样测定脯氨酸、丙二醛含量及淀粉转化相关指标。采用二硝基水杨酸法测定淀粉酶活性和还原性糖,蒽酮法测定可溶性糖和淀粉含量,茚三酮显色法测定脯氨酸含量,硫代巴比妥酸显色法测定丙二醛含量。通过对高粱种子发芽率、发芽势及种子吸胀、淀粉酶活性、淀粉及糖含量、脯氨酸等指标进行测定分析,研究外源一氧化氮对盐胁迫下高粱种子萌发及淀粉转化的影响。【结果】NaCl胁迫下高粱种子的萌发受到明显抑制,NaCl浓度大于100 mmol·L-1时高粱种子的萌发率显著降低,150 mmol·L-1 NaCl处理时高粱种子的萌发率为63.17%,400 mmol·L-1 NaCl完全抑制高粱种子萌发。0.05 mmol·L-1的SNP处理能够缓解盐胁迫对种子萌发的抑制,种子发芽势、发芽率、发芽指数分别比对照高14.44%、12.22%和18.07%(P<0.05);SNP处理使高粱种子中脯氨酸和可溶性糖含量分别增加18.97%和41.43%,从而降低渗透势,促进种子吸水,缓解NaCl造成的渗透胁迫,丙二醛含量显著降低,较NaCl单独处理降低了17.79%。SNP处理还能迅速提高盐胁迫下种子淀粉酶活性,在处理后第1天时就比NaCl处理提高了17.20%,加速淀粉的降解,显著增加可溶性糖和还原性糖含量。在处理的第5天时,SNP+NaCl处理淀粉含量比NaCl处理降低19.17%,可溶性糖和还原性糖的含量分别提高了41.4%和41.0%,差异显著(P<0.05),这为种子萌发提供能量,提高高粱种子萌发期的抗盐性。【结论】外源NO可调节高粱种子萌发期的淀粉酶活性和渗透调节能力,提高其对盐胁迫的抵抗能力,促进种子的萌发。尹美强 王栋 王金荣 兰敏 赵娟 董淑琦 宋喜娥 ALAM Sher 原向阳 王玉国 温银元 2019中国农业科学2019,52,22:18
4谷子秸秆不同部位水浸液对3种杂草的化感作用显示文摘通过测定种子萌芽期生物学指标和盆栽苗期生理指标,研究谷子不同部位(叶片、茎秆)不同浓度(原液、10倍稀释液、50倍稀释液、100倍稀释液)浸提液对反枝苋、藜、狗尾草3种谷田恶性杂草的化感作用。结果表明:谷子叶片、茎秆水浸提液对3种杂草均存在显著化感作用,且不同浓度浸提液化感作用存在差异,总体表现为原液有抑制作用,稀释液(10、50、100倍)有促进作用。叶片、茎秆浸提液原液处理下,反枝苋、藜、狗尾草的发芽率分别下降了63.9%、37.3%和41.7%,根长仅为对照的27.8%、37.8%和18.4%,芽长仅为对照的34.5%、27.7%和17.6%,净光合速率为对照的66.6%、89.9%和88.2%,蒸腾速率为对照的69.0%、87.5%和56.1%,原液对3种杂草的综合化感效应指数为-0.699、-0.716和-0.795,表现出较强的化感抑制作用。稀释液处理下化感促进作用随稀释倍数增加呈先上升后下降趋势,其中50倍稀释液促进作用最强,3种杂草的发芽率、根长和芽长均与对照达到差异显著水平,综合化感效应指数分别为0.261、0.217和0.165。谷田伴生杂草大量生长与谷子秸秆中化感物质淋溶有关。董淑琦 曹鹏 胡春艳 Sher Alam 原向阳 杨雪芳 郭平毅 2020应用生态学报2020,31,7:18

6Acute-on-chronic liver failure:recent update显示文摘Acute on chronic liver failure(ACLF) was first described in 1995 as a clinical syndrome distinct to classic acute decompensation.Characterized by complications of decompensation,ACLF occurs on a background of chronic liver dysfunction and is associated with high rates of organ failure and significant short-term mortality estimated between45%and 90%.Despite the clinical relevance of the condition,it still remains largely undefined with continued disagreement regarding its precise etiological factors,clinical course,prognostic criteria and management pathways.It is concerning that,despite our relative lack of understanding of the condition,the burden of ACLF among cirrhotic patients remains significant with an estimated prevalence of 30.9%.This paper highlights our current understanding of ACLF,including its etiology,diagnostic and prognostic criteria and pathophysiology.It is evident that further refinement of the ACLF classification system is required in order to detect high-risk patients and improve short-term mortality rates.The field of metabolomics certainly warrants investigation to enhance diagnostic and prognostic parameters,while the use of granulocyte-colony stimulating factor is a promising future therapeutic intervention for patients with ACLF.Azeem Alam Ka Chun Suen Daqing Ma 2017The Journal of Biomedical Research2017,31,4:16
7Kinetic adsorption of application of carbon nanotubes for Pb(Ⅱ) removal from aqueous solution显示文摘The capability of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) to adsorb lead (Pb) in aqueous solution was investigated. Batch mode adsorption experiment was conducted to determine the effects of pH, agitation speed, CNTs dosage and contact time. The removal of Pb(Ⅱ) reached maximum value 85% or 83% at pH 5 or 40 mg/L of CNTs, respectively. Higher correlation coeffcients from Langmuir isotherm model indicates the strong adsorptions of Pb(Ⅱ) on the surface of CNTs (adsorption capacity Xm = 102.04 mg/g). 8Pyogenic liver abscess: Changing patterns in approach显示文摘AIM: To define optimum management of the pyogenic liver abscess and assess new trends in treatment. METHODS: One hundred and sixty nine patients with pyogenic liver abscess managed at Sher-i-Kashmir In- stitute of Medical Sciences, Srinagar, Kashmir (India) from July 2001 to August 2006 were studied to evaluate and define the optimum treatment. RESULTS: Mortality in the surgically treated group of patients was 9.4% (12/119), while those treated non-surgically had a fatality rate of 16.66% (7/42). Multiple liver abscesses treated surgically had a surprisingly low mortality of 30%. The biliary tract (64.97%) was the most common cause of liver abscess. Multiple abscesses, mixed organisms and abscess complications are all associated with a significantly increased mortality. However, the lethality of the primary disease process was the most important factor in determining survival.CONCLUSION: Transperitoneal surgical drainage and antibiotics are the mainstay of treatment. 11薄层CT与18F-FDGPET/CT联合运用可提高肺孤立性结节定性诊断的准确性(英文)显示文摘目的探索如何将病灶SUV_(max)与薄层CT相结合,提高18F-FDG PET/CT对肺孤立性结节的定性诊断准确性。方法回顾性分析267例经手术病理检查或临床随访证实的SPN患者的^(18)F-FDG PET/CT及薄层CT显像结果,依据薄层CT将SPN分为实性结节与非实性结节。分别采用标准1(SUV_(max)≥2.5)和标准2(SUV_(max)结合薄层CT综合分析)诊断肺癌,以病理和临床随访为金标准,分析两种标准对肺孤立性结节的诊断效能。结果采用两种标准诊断肺癌的灵敏度和准确性分别为80.4%、76.4%(标准1)和91.0%、87.2%(标准2)(均P<0.05)。在非实性结节中,良、恶性病灶的SUV_(max)无明显显著性差异(P>0.05),而病灶大小和分叶征、含气支气管征或空泡征以及病灶内有无粗大血管等CT征象对鉴别诊断有意义(均P<0.05)。40例PET表现为低代谢的肺癌患者,均被误诊为良性病变,结合薄层CT图像,纠正了其中50%(20/40)的诊断。采用标准1诊断肺癌,灵敏度为40.0%,而采用标准2诊断肺癌,灵敏度为90%,标准2对非实性结节诊断的灵敏度明显高于标准1(P=0.000),但特异性无显著性差异(75.2%vs 58.3%,P=0.667)。然而,对实性结节,薄层CT对于诊断结果无明显影响(均P>0.05)。结论对于肺孤立性结节,仅依据SUV_(max)≥2.5诊断肺癌,诊断效能并不理想。对非实性结节,须依据SUV_(max)和薄层CT所见进行综合分析。任云燕 李友财 吴湖炳 王全师 韩彦江 周文兰 李洪生 王珍 MOHAMMED Shah Alam 2017南方医科大学学报2017,37,3:13
12Insulin resistance in development and progression of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease显示文摘Although insulin resistance(IR)is strongly associated with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD),the association of IR and NAFLD is not universal and correlation between IR and severity of NAFLD is still controversial.In this review,we summarize recent evidence that partially dissociates insulin resistance from NAFLD.It has also been reported that single-nucleotide polymorphisms in the diacylglycerol acyltransferase gene,rather than IR,account for the variability in liver fat content.Polymorphisms of the patatin-like phospholipase 3 gene have also been reported to be associated with NAFLD without metabolic syndrome,which suggests that genetic conditions that promote the development of fatty changes in the liver may occur independently of IR.Moreover,environmental factors such as nutrition and physical activity as well as small intestinal bacterial overgrowth have been linked to the pathogenesis of NAFLD,although some of the data are conflicting.Therefore,findings from both genetically engineered animal models and humans with genetic conditions,as well as recent studies that have explored the role of environmental factors,have confirmed the view that NAFLD is a polygenic disease process caused by both genetic and environmental factors.Therefore,IR is not the sole predictor of the pathogenesis of NAFLD.Shahinul Alam Golam Mustafa Mahabubul Alam Nooruddin Ahmad 2016World Journal of Gastrointestinal Pathophysiology2016,7,2:12
13黑龙江省嫩江-黑河构造混杂岩带科洛金矿床成因:来自黄铁矿化学成分及He-Ar、S、Pb同位素证据显示文摘科洛金矿床位于黑龙江省嫩江—黑河构造混杂岩带中,为一正在勘查的中型金矿床。前人研究认为该矿床为一中温、富水、低盐度的韧性剪切带型金矿床。但随着勘查工作的持续开展,新发现了大量含多金属硫化物的石英脉型矿石。为进一步明确该矿床成因,对科洛金矿床内韧性变形和浸染状-团块状两种不同产状黄铁矿进行了系统的成分标型及稳定同位素特征研究。结果表明:韧性变形黄铁矿较浸染-团块状黄铁矿的S/Fe值低,Au、Ag、Co含量高,As含量低,总体显示韧性变形黄铁矿相对贫硫;黄铁矿微量元素显示两类黄铁矿REE具有相似的地球化学特征,整体呈轻稀土富集、重稀土亏损的'右倾'式稀土配分模式。稀土元素总量为17.00×10^-6~66.95×10^-6,韧性变形黄铁矿含量明显偏低,LREE/HREE值为5.25~12.50,相对较稳定。Y/Ho值与地幔和地壳重合范围较多,Zr/Hf值、Nb/Ta值变化范围较大,显示成矿环境不稳定;黄铁矿^3He含量为2.405×10^-13~10.811×10^-13,^4He含量为3.35×10^-7~4.99×10^-7,^3He-^4He图和R/Ra-40Ar/36Ar图显示成矿流体有以地幔为主的壳幔混源特征,成矿过程应有大气降水的参与;黄铁矿δ^34S变化范围小,集中在+2.3‰^+7.6‰(韧性变形黄铁矿δ^34S平均值偏低),稍正向偏离陨石硫特征;黄铁矿的^206Pb/^204Pb=18.157~18.211;^207Pb/^204Pb=15.542~15.594;^208Pb/^204Pb=38.032~38.218(韧性变形黄铁矿的^206Pb/^204Pb、^207Pb/^204Pb、^208Pb/^204Pb平均值偏低),均显示与造山作用关系密切。利用黄铁矿化学成分特征元素Co/Ni值及Co-Ni成因判别图解认为科洛金矿有热液成因矿床特征;利用w(Fe+S)-w(As)图解和Co-Ni-As含量图解显示石英脉型矿石反映浅成低温热液型金矿特征。综合区域变质变形事件、典型矿床特征及矿区内已取得的年龄、流体包裹体等相关数据认为,科洛金矿床应存在两期矿化:三叠纪形成的韧性剪切带型金矿床和白垩纪形成的浅成低温热液型金矿床。建议在今后的矿产勘查中注意寻找真正的韧性剪切带型金矿。李成禄 李胜荣 袁茂文 杜兵盈 李文龙 Masroor ALAM 刘东园 刘浩 2020地学前缘2020,27,5:11
14Tagetes erecta Linn.and its mosquitocidal potency against Culex quinquefasciatus显示文摘Objective:To investigate mosquitocidal effects of ethanolic extract of(lowers of Tagetes erecta(T.erecta) and its chloroform and petroleum ether soluble fractions against the larvae of Culex quinquefasciatus(Cx.quinquefasciatus).Methods:The fresh flowers of T.erecta were extracted in cold with ethanol(5.0 L) and after concentration,the ethanol extract was fractionated with chloroform and petroleum ether to afford a brownish syrupy suspension of ethanol extract(50.0 g),petroleum ether soluble fraction(18.6 g) and chloroform soluble fraction(23.8 g).The larvicidal effect of ethanol extract and their solvent fractions were determined by the standard procedure of WHO against different instars of Cx.quinquefasciatus.Results:Among the tested samples the chloroform soluble fractions showed the highest toxicity and consequently,the lowest LC_(50) values(14.14 μ g/mL,17.06 μ g/mL.36.88 μ g/mL and 75.48 μ g/mL) for all the instars larvae of Cx.quinquefasciatus.The larvae showed comparative tolerance in the course of increasing age and time.Conclusions:It can be concluded that the flowers of T.erecta are very effective natural larvicide and could be useful against Cx.quinquefasciatus.Farjana Nikkon M Rowshanul Habib Zahangir Alam Saud M Rezaul Karim 2011Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine2011,1,3:10
15Postoperative sleep disorders and their potential impacts on surgical outcomes显示文摘Postoperative sleep disturbance is a common occurrence with significant adverse effects on patients including delayed recovery,impairment of cognitive function,pain sensitivity and cardiovascular events.The development of postoperative sleep disturbance is multifactorial and involves the surgical inflammatory response,the severity of surgical trauma,pain,anxiety,the use of anesthetics and environmental factors such as nocturnal noise and light levels.Many of these factors can be managed perioperatively to minimize the deleterious impact on sleep.Pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment strategies for postoperative sleep disturbance include dexmedetomidine,zolpidem,melatonin,enhanced recovery after surgery(ERAS) protocol and controlling of environmental noise and light levels.It is likely that a combination of pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies will have the greatest impact;however,further research is required before their use can be routinely recommended.Sanketh Rampes Katie Ma Yasmin Amy Divecha Azeem Alam Daqing Ma 2020The Journal of Biomedical Research2020,34,4:9

18Landslide inventory and susceptibility modelling using geospatial tools,in Hunza-Nagar valley,northern Pakistan显示文摘A comprehensive landslide inventory and susceptibility maps are prerequisite for developing and implementing landslide mitigation strategies. Landslide susceptibility maps for the landslides prone regions in northern Pakistan are rarely available. The Hunza-Nagar valley in northern Pakistan is known for its frequent and devastating landslides. In this paper, we have developed a landslide inventory map for Hunza-Nagar valley by using the visual interpretation of the SPOT-5 satellite imagery and mapped a total of 172 landslides. The landslide inventory was subsequently divided into modelling and validation data sets. For the development of landslide susceptibility map seven discrete landslide causative factors were correlated with the landslide inventory map using weight of evidence and frequency ratio statistical models. Four different models of conditional independence were used for the selection of landslide causative factors. The produced landslides susceptibility maps were validated by the success rate and area under curves criteria. The prediction power of the models was also validated with the prediction rate curve. The validation results shows that the success rate curves of the weight of evidence and the frequency models are 82% and 79%, respectively. The prediction accuracy results obtained from this study are 84% for weight of evidence model and 80% for the frequency ratio model. Finally, the landslide susceptibility index maps were classified into five different varying susceptibility zones. The validation and prediction result indicates that the weight of evidence and frequency ratio model are reliable to produce an accurate landslide susceptibility map, which may be helpful for landslides management strategies.Alam Sher BACHA Muhammad SHAFIQUE Harald van der WERFF 2018Journal of Mountain Science2018,15,6:8
19在良性的胆汁的阻塞的 choledochoduodenostomy 的长期的结果显示文摘 AIM:To determine the long-term results of choledochodudenostomy in patients with benign billiary obstruction.METHODS:This prospective study was conducted at Sheri Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences Srinagar Kashmir,India over a period of 10 years from January 1997 to December 2007.The total number of patients who underwent choledochoduodenostomy during this period was 270.On the basis of etiology of biliary tract obstruction,patients were divided into a calculus group,an oriental cholangiohepatitis group,a benign biliary stricture group and others.Patients were followed for a variable period of 13 mo to 15 years.RESULTS:Choledochoduodenostomy(CDD) with duodenotomy was performend in four patients.CDD with removal of T-tube,CDD with left hepatic lobectomy and CDD with removal of intra biliary ruptured hydatid was performed in three patients each.In the remaining patients only CDD was performed.Immediate post operative complications were seen in 63(23%) patients,while long-term complications were seen in 28(11%) patients,which were statistically significant.Three patients died during hospitalization while four patients died in the late post-operative period.CONCLUSION:Our conclusion is that CDD is safe and produces good long term results when a permanent biliary drainage procedure is required.Ajaz A Malik Shiraz A Rather Shams UL Bari Khursheed Alam Wani 2012World Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery2012,4,2:7
