| 1 | Treatment responses in Asians and Caucasians with chronic hepatitis C infection显示文摘AIM:To conduct a multicentre retrospective review of virological response rates in Asians infected with genotype 1 chronic hepatitis C(CHC) treated with combination interferon and ribavirin and then to compare their responses to that among Caucasians.METHODS:Asian patients infected with genotype 1 CHC treated at 4 Australian centres between 2001 to 2005 were identified through hospital databases.Baseline demographic characteristics,biochemical,virological and histological data and details of treatment were collected.Sustained virological responses(SVR) in this cohort were then compared to that in Caucasian subjects,matched by genotype,age,gender and the stage of hepatic fibrosis.RESULTS:A total of 108 Asians with genotype 1 CHC were identified.The end of treatment response(ETR) for the cohort was 79% while the SVR was 67%.Due to the relatively advanced age of the Asian cohort,only sixty-four subjects could be matched with Caucasians.The ETR among matched Asians and Caucasians was 81% and 56% respectively(P=0.003),while the SVR rates were 73% and 36%(P <0.001) respectively.This difference remained significant after adjusting for other predictive variables. | Kenneth K Yan Marianne Guirgis Amany Zekry Thuy Dinh Anouk Dev Jacob George Alice Lee | 2008 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2008，14，21： | 12 |
| 2 | Risk factors for overuse injuries in short-and long-distance running: A systematic review显示文摘Purpose:The aim of this study was to review information about risk factors for lower extremity running injuries in both short-distance(mean running distance-20 km/week and-10 km/session)and long-distance runners(mean running distance>20 km/week and>10 km/session).Methods:Electronic databases were searched for articles published up to February 2019.Prospective cohort studies using multivariable analysis for the assessment of individual risk factors or risk models for the occurrence of lower extremity running injuries were included.Two reviewers independently selected studies for eligibility and assessed risk of bias with the Quality in Prognostic Studies Tool.The GRADE approach was used to assess the quality of the evidence.Results:A total of 29 studies were included:17 studies focused on short-distance runners,11 studies focused on long-distance runners,and 1 study focused on both types of runners.A previous running-related injury was the strongest risk factor for an injury for long-distance runners,with moderate-quality evidence.Previous injuries not attributed to running was the strongest risk factor for an injury for short-distance runners,with high-quality evidence.Higher body mass index,higher age,sex(male),having no previous running experience,and lower running volume were strong risk factors,with moderate quality evidence,for short-distance runners.Low-quality evidence was found for all risk models as predictors of runningrelated injuries among short-and long-distance runners.Conclusion:Several risk factors for lower extremity injuries have been identified among short-and long-distance runners,but the quality of evidence for these risk factors for running-related injuries is limited.Running injuries seem to have a multifactorial origin both in short-and long-distance runners. | Dennis van Poppel Maarten van der Worp Anouk Slabbekoorn Sylvia S.P.van den Heuvel Marienke van Middelkoop Bart W.Koes Arianne P.Verhagen Gwendolyne G.M.Scholten-Peeters | 2021 | Journal of Sport and Health Science2021，10，1： | 8 |
| 3 | Gastric emptying evaluation by ultrasound prior colonoscopy:An easy tool following bowel preparation显示文摘AIM: To investigate the gastric emptying after bowel preparation to allow general anaesthesia. METHODS: A prospective, non-comparative, and nonrandomized trial was performed and registered on Eudra CT database(2011-002953-80) and on www.trial.gov(NCT01398098). All patients had a validated indication for colonoscopy and a preparation using sodium phosphate(NaP) tablets. The day of the procedure, patients took 4 tablets with 250 mL of water every 15 min, three times. The gastric volume wasestimated every 15 min from computed antral surfaces and weight according to the formula of Perlas et al(Anesthesiology, 2009). Colonoscopy was performed within the 6 h following the last intake.RESULTS: Thirty patients were prospectively included in the study from November 2011 to May 2012. The maximum volume of the antrum was 212 mL, achieved 15 min after the last intake. 24%, 67% and 92% of subjects had an antral volume below 20 mL at 60, 120 and 150 min, respectively. 81% of patients had a Boston score equal to 2 or 3 in each colonic segment. No adverse events leading to treatment discontinuation were reported.CONCLUSION: Gastric volume evaluation appeared to be a simple and reliable method for the assessment of gastric emptying.
