1Chemical composition and antioxidant activity of certain Morus species显示文摘In the present work,the fruits of four Morus species,namely Morus alba (white mulberry),Morus nigra (black mulberry),Morus laevigata (large white fruit),and Morus laevigata (large black fruit),were analyzed for proximate composition,essential minerals,and antioxidant potentials.For this purpose,the ripe fruits were collected from the northern regions of Pakistan.The major nutritional components moisture,ash,lipids,proteins,fibres,carbohydrates,and total sugar) were found to be in the suitable range along with good computed energy.Total dry weight,pH,and titratable acidity (percent citric acid) were (17.60±1.94)–(21.97±2.34) mg/100 g,(3.20±0.07)–(4.78±0.15),and (0.84±0.40)%–(2.00±0.08)%,respectively.Low riboflavin (vitamin B2) and niacin (vitamin B3) contents were recorded in all the fruits,while ascorbic acid (vitamin C) was in the range from (15.20±1.25) to (17.03±1.71) mg/100 g fresh weight (FW).The mulberry fruits were rich with regard to the total phenol and alkaloid contents,having values of (880±7.20)–(1650±12.25) mg/100 g FW and (390±3.22)–(660±5.25) mg/100 g FW,respectively.Sufficient quantities of essential macro-(K,Ca,Mg,and Na) and micro-(Fe,Zn,and Ni) elements were found in all the fruits.K was the predominant element with concentration ranging from (1270±9.36) to (1731±11.50) mg/100 g,while Ca,Na,and Mg contents were (440±3.21)–(576±7.37),(260±3.86)–(280±3.50),and (240±3.51)–(360±4.20) mg/100 g,respectivly.The decreasing order of micro-minerals was Fe>Zn>Ni.The radical scavenging activity of methanolic extract of fruits was concentration-dependent and showed a correlation with total phenolic constituents of the respective fruits.Based on the results obtained,mulberry fruits were found to serve as a potential source of food diet and natural antioxidants.Mohammad IMRAN Hamayun KHAN Mohibullah SHAH Rasool KHAN Faridullah KHAN 2010Journal of Zhejiang University-Science B(Biomedicine & Biotechnology)2010,11,12:14
2Physicochemical characteristics of various milk samples available in Pakistan显示文摘We report physicochemical characteristics of various kinds of liquid milk commercially available in Pakistan in comparison with those of fresh natural milk from animals. Milk samples were collected from local markets at Peshawar, Pakistan, and analyzed for their physical features, including moisture, total solids, specific gravity, conductivity, viscosity and titratable acidity (lactic acid equivalent), and chemical components and macro-minerals, including total protein, casein, lactose, ash and minerals (Na, K and Mg). These items were compared with the physicochemical characteristics of the fresh natural milk samples from buffalo, cow and goat. The results were also compared with reported nutritional quality of milk from various countries and World Health Organization (WHO) standards. 4一例罕见的子宫原始神经外胚层瘤病例报道(英文)显示文摘Primitive neuroectodermal tumor (PNET) of uterus is the rare of the rarest among the tumors of female genital tract. We herein reported a 32 years old female operated for lower abdominal lump,which was diagnosed,as PNET later confirmed by immunohistochemistry (IHC). She was lost to follow-up and presented 10 months later with recurrence. 6Tailoring the optical and magnetic properties of La-BaM hexaferrites by Ni substitution显示文摘We investigate the impact of Ni insertion on the structural,optical,and magnetic properties of Ba_(0.8)La_(0.2)Fe_(12-x)Ni_(x)O_(19)hexaferrites(Ni substituted La-BaM hexaferrites).Samples were prepared using the conventional co-precipitation method and sintered at 1000℃for 4 hours to assist the crystallization process.An analysis of the structure of the samples was carried out using an x-ray diffraction(XRD)spectrometer.The M-type hexagonal structure of all the samples was confirmed using XRD spectra.The lattice parameters a and c were found to be in the ranges of 5.8925±0.001 nm–5.8952±0.001 nm and 23.2123±0.001 nm–23.2219±0.001 nm,respectively.The M-type hexagonal nature of the prepared samples was also indicated by the presence of corresponding FT-IR bands and Raman modes in the FT-IR and Raman spectra,respectively.EDX results confirmed the successful synthesis of the samples according to the required stoichiometric ratio.A UV-vis spectrometer was used to record the absorption spectra of the prepared samples in the wavelength range of 200 nm–1100 nm.The optical energy bandgap of the samples was found to be in the range of 1.21 eV–3.39 eV.The M–H loops of the samples were measured at room temperature at an applied magnetic field range of 0 kOe–60 kOe.A high saturation magnetization of 99.92 emu/g was recorded in the sample with x=0 at a microwave operating frequency of 22.2 GHz.This high value of saturation magnetization is due to the substitution of La3+ions at the spin-up(12k,2a,and 2b)sites.The Ni substitution is proven to be a potential candidate for the tuning of the optical and magnetic parameters of M-type hexaferrites.Therefore,we suggest that the prepared samples are suitable for use in magneto-optic applications.Hafiz T.Ali MRamzan M Imran Arshad Nicola A.Morley M.Hassan Abbas Mohammad Yusuf Atta Ur Rehman Khalid Mahmood Adnan Ali Nasir Amin MAjaz-un-Nabi 2022Chinese Physics B2022,31,2:1

18A new passive transfemoral prosthesis mechanism based on 3R36 knee and ESAR foot providing walking and squatting显示文摘Researchers have proposed various linkage mechanisms to connect knee and ankle joints for above-knee prosthe-ses,but most of them only offer natural walking.However,studies have shown that people assume a squatting posture during daily activities.This paper introduces a novel mechanism that connects the knee joint with the foot-ankle joint to enable both squatting and walking.The prosthetic knee used is the well-known 3R36,while the energy storing and return(ESAR)prosthetic foot is used for the ankle-foot joint.To coordinate knee and ankle joint movements,a six-bar linkage mechanism structure is proposed.Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed modular transfemoral prosthesis accurately mimics the motion patterns of a natural human leg during walking and squatting.For instance,the prosthesis allows a total knee flexion of more than 140°during squatting.The new prosthesis design also incorporates energy-storing mechanisms to reduce energy expenditure during walking for amputees.Amer Imran Borhan Beigzadeh Mohammad Reza Haghjoo 2023Theoretical & Applied Mechanics Letters2023,13,5:0

20Ultrasonographic visualization of lower eyelid structures and dynamic motion analysis显示文摘AIM:To define the ultrasonographic structure of normal lower eyelid anatomic compartments and their spacial relationship in dynamic motion.METHODS:High resolution ultrasound(15MHz) was performed on the lower eyelids of 7 normal subjects.Movements of the lower eyelid and its compartments were visualized with ultrasound.In addition,the maximal excursion area of the lower eyelid fat compartments and retractor motions was measured before and after motion.RESULTS:The orbicularis muscle could be seen as an echolucent structure between the dermis and the echodence fat pads.Lower eyelid fat pad seems to be divided into 2 compartments as range of motion and direction of movement of each of them varies.It seems that these compartments have also different behavior.The measured profile area of the visible normal lower eyelid fat pads during movement of globe from up-gaze to down-gaze decreased by 50%.Order of movement of lower eyelid structures seems to be as follows:after globe movement fist we see retractor movement,anterior orbital fat pad,then skin and septum,and finally movement of inferior fat pad.CONCLUSION:Ultrasound represents a noninvasive tool for the visualization of lower eyelid morphology.Expanding its application could help us understand the compartmental changes in physiological eyelid movement,in aging and diseased study populations,as well as assess operative outcomes.Mohammad Taher Rajabi Konstantinos Papageorgiou Shu-Hong Chang Imran Jarullazada Mehryar Taban Catherine J.Hwang Robert Alan Goldberg 2013International Journal of Ophthalmology(English edition)2013,6,5:0
