1FREE VIBRATION ANALYSIS OF SIMPLY SUPPORTED BEAM WITH BREATHING CRACK USING PERTURBATION METHOD显示文摘In this paper,a new analytical method for vibration analysis of a cracked simply supported beam is investigated.By considering a nonlinear model for the fatigue crack,the governing equation of motion of the cracked beam is solved using perturbation method.The solution of the governing equation reveals the superharmonics of the fundamental frequency due to the nonlinear effects in the dynamic response of the cracked beam.Furthermore,considering such a solution,an explicit expression is also derived for the system damping changes due to the changes in the crack parameters,geometric dimensions and mechanical properties of the cracked beam.The results show that an increase in the crack severity and approaching the crack location to the middle of the beam increase the system damping.In order to validate the results,changes in the fundamental frequency ratios against the fatigue crack severities are compared with those of experimental results available in the literature.Also,a comparison is made between the free response of the cracked beam with a given crack depth and location obtained by the proposed analytical solution and that of the numerical method.The results of the proposed method agree with the experimental and numerical results.Mousa Rezaee Reza Hassannejad 2010Acta Mechanica Solida Sinica2010,23,5:19
2Direct and Indirect Role of Toll-Like Receptors in T Cell Mediated Immunity显示文摘Toll-like receptors (TLR) are pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) recognition receptors that play an important role in protective immunity against infection and inflammation. They act as central integrators of a wide variety of signals, responding to diverse agonists of microbial products. Stimulation of Toll-like receptors by microbial products leads to signaling pathways that activate not only innate, but also adaptive immunity by APC dependent or independent mechanisms. Recent evidence revealed that TLR signals played a determining role in the skewing of na(i)ve T cells towards either Th1 or Th2 responses. Activation of Toll-like receptors also directly or indirectly influences regulatory T cell functions. Therefore, TLRs are required in both immune activation and immune regulation. 3A NEW APPROACH TO FREE VIBRATION ANALYSIS OF A BEAM WITH A BREATHING CRACK BASED ON MECHANICAL ENERGY BALANCE METHOD显示文摘In this paper, a new approach to free vibration analysis of a cracked cantilever beam is proposed. By considering the effect of opening and closing the crack during the beam vibration, it is modeled as a fatigue crack. Also, local stiffness changes at the crack location are considered to be a nonlinear amplitude-dependent function and it is assumed that during one half a cycle, the frequencies and mode shapes of the beam vary continuously with time. In addition, by using the experimental tests, it is shown that the local stiffness at the crack location varies continuously between the two extreme values corresponding to the fully closed and the fully open cases of the crack. Then, by using the mechanical energy balance the dynamic response of the cracked beam is obtained at every time instant. The results show that for a specific crack depth, by approaching the crack location to the fixed end of the beam, more reduction in the fundamental frequency occurs. Furthermore, for a specific crack location, the fundamental frequency diminishes and the nonlinearity of the system increases by increasing the crack depth. 4Synthesis and Characterization of Heterocyclic Functionalized Polymers by Click Reaction: Preparation of Magnetic Nanocomposites and Studies on Their Thermal, Mechanical, Photophysical and Metal Ions Removal Properties显示文摘This work reports synthesis and characterization of heterocyclic functionalized polymers, poly(triazole-etherimidazole)s(PTAEI), from a dialkyne-terminated compound, 3-(4,5-bis(4-(propargyloxy)phenyl)-1H-imidazol-2-yl)-9-ethyl-9H-carbazole, by using click reaction. PTAEIs were characterized and their properties such as solubility, thermal, mechanical, photophysical and metal ions adsorption were investigated. These polymers had weight average molar masses(Mw) in the range of 19100-26700 g/mol, exhibited excellent solubility in polar aprotic solvents and formed low-colored flexible thin films by solution casting method. They exhibited good thermal stability with glass transition temperatures(Tg) between 160 °C and 211 °C and 10% weight loss temperatures(T10%) in the range of 308-426 °C. Nanocomposites of PTAEIs with epoxide-terminated Fe3O4 showed that strong interfacial interaction between inorganic particles and the polymer matrix contributed to the enhanced thermal and mechanical properties. The photoluminescence intensity of the PTAEIs increased and the spectra red shifted with increasing Fe3O4 content. 5Ag/TiO_2/freeze-dried graphene nanocomposite as a high performance photocatalyst under visible light irradiation显示文摘Ag/TiO_2/freeze-dried graphene nanocomposites have been prepared via a facile one-step solvothermal method for the photocatalytic degradation of Rh B under visible light irradiation. During the solvothermal process, reduction of graphene oxide and loading of Ag/TiO_2 nanoparticles on graphene sheets were achieved. Investigation of chemical state of products showed that covering of Ag/TiO_2 surface with higher weight ratio of graphene resulting in that Ag metals in Ag/TiO_2 were oxidized to Ag2 O in nanocomposite structure after solvothermal process. Degree of photocatalytic activity enhancement strongly depends on the coverage of Ag/TiO_2 surface by porous graphene. The sample of 1 wt% porous graphene hybridized Ag/TiO_2 showed the highest photocatalytic activity, which is related to high migration efficiency of photoinduced of electrons and reduction of electron–hole recombination rate due to high electrical conductivity of graphene. Expanding of absorption to visible light region was ascribed to surface plasmon resonance effect of Ag metals and presence of graphene. 6Consensus statement on the epidemiology,diagnosis,prevention,and management of cow's milk protein allergy in the Middle East:a modified Delphi-based study显示文摘Background This study aimed to develop an expert consensus regarding the epidemiology,diagnosis,and management of cow’s milk protein allergy(CMPA)in the Middle East.Methods A three-step modified Delphi method was utilized to develop the consensus.Fifteen specialized pediatricians participated in the development of this consensus.Each statement was considered a consensus if it achieved an agreement level of>80%.Results The experts agreed that the double-blind placebo-controlled oral challenge test(OCT)should be performed for 2-A weeks using an amino acid formula(AAF)in formula-fed infants or children with suspected CMPA.Formula-fed infants with confirmed CMPA should be offered a therapeutic formula.The panel stated that an extensively hydrolyzed formula(eHF)is indicated in the absence of red flag signs.At the same time,the AAF is offered for infants with red flag signs,such as severe anaphylactic reactions.The panel agreed that infants on an eHF with resolved symptoms within 2-4 weeks should continue the eHF with particular attention to the growth and nutritional status.On the other hand,an AAF should be considered for infants with persistent symptoms;the AAF should be continued if the symptoms resolve within 2-4 weeks,with particular attention to the growth and nutritional status.In cases with no symptomatic improvements after the introduction of an AAF.other measures should be followed.The panel developed a management algorithm,which achieved an agreement level of 90.9%.Conclusion This consensus document combined the best available evidence and clinical experience to optimize the management of CMPA in the Middle East.Moustafa A.El-Hodhod Mortada H.F.El-Shabrawi Ahmed AIBadi Ahmed Hussein AM Almehaidib Basil Nasrallah Ebtsam Mohammed AIBassam Hala El Feghali Hasan M.Isa Khaled Al Saraf Maroun Sokhn Mehdi Adeli Najwa Mohammed Mousa Al-Sawi Pierre Hage Suleiman Al-Hammadi 2021World Journal of Pediatrics2021,17,6:3
7Interrelationship between Toll-like receptors and infection after orthotopic liver transplantation显示文摘Early microbial recognition by the innate immune system is accomplished by Toll-like receptors(TLRs),with resultant initiation of a pro-inflammatory response against infecting organisms.In spite of presence of an abundance of Toll-like receptors on the surface of the liver,gut bacteria does not elicit an inflammatory reaction in healthy individuals due to tolerance to these TLRs,suggesting that the inflammatory responses seen in the liver are the result of breakdown of this tolerance.While orthotopic liver transplantation is often life saving in many instances,death following this procedure is most commonly due to infection that occurs in up to 80%of transplant recipients,most commonly due to microbial causes in up to 70%of cases and viral infections in 20%,while fungal infections affect only 8%of cases.The probability of acquiring infection following hepatic transplantation is heightened due to affection of the innate immune defense mechanisms of the host following this procedure.Single nucleotide polymorphisms of TLRs have been associated with increased likelihood of either development of post-transplant infection or eradication of infecting organism.However,conflicting reports from other studies reveal that prevalence of this single nucleotide polymorphism is not increased in infected patients.Mahmoud El-Bendary Mustafa Naemattalah Ahmed Yassen Naser Mousa Dina Elhammady Ahmed M Sultan Mohamed Abdel-Wahab 2020World Journal of Transplantation2020,10,6:3

9Hypoglycemic and antioxidant activities of Caesalpinia ferrea Martius leaf extract in streptozotocininduced diabetic rats显示文摘Objective: To evaluate the antidiabetic and antioxidant ef ects of aqueous ethanolic extract of Caesalpinia ferrea(C. ferrea) leaf in normal and streptozotocin(STZ) induced diabetic rats.Methods: Male Sprague-Dawley rats divided into 6 groups of 6 rats each were assigned into diabetic and non-diabetic groups. Diabetes was induced in rats by single intraperitoneal administration of STZ(65 mg/kg body weight). C. ferrea extract at the doses of 250 and 500 mg/kg body weight was orally administered to both diabetic and non-diabetic animals for a period of 30 days. After completion of experimental duration serum, liver and pancreas were used for evaluating biochemical and histopathological changes.Results: Oral administration of C. ferrea leaf extract significantly reduced elevated serum glucose, α-amylase, liver function levels and signii cantly increased serum insulin, total protein and body weight as well as improved lipid proi le due to diabetes. Furthermore, the treatment resulted in a marked increase in glutathione peroxidase, superoxide dismutase, catalase and reduced glutathione, and diminished levels of lipid peroxidation in liver and pancreas of diabetic rats. Histopathological studies demonstrated the reduction in the pancreas and liver damage and coni rmed the biochemical i ndings.Conclusions: From the present study, it can be concluded that the C. ferrea leaf extract ef ectively improved hyperglycaemia while inhibiting the progression of oxidative stress in STZ-induced diabetic rats. 10Morphology dependent photocatalytic activity of WO_3 nanostructures显示文摘The shape of nanostructure has important effects on their properties, therefore in this study, we have prepared and characterized three different morphologies of WO3 nanostructures i.e. nanorod, nanosphere and nanoplate for surveying shape effect on their photocatalytic properties toward degradation of Rhodamine B(Rh B) dye.Obtained results show that nanoplate WO3 in comparison with others has the best photocatalytic activity. According to SEM, and photocatalytic degradation results, the reason for this behavior is the sharp edges and corners of WO3 nanoplates. Because of their low coordination number, atoms located in the edges and corners of the WO3 nanoplates have more activity,adsorb more Rh B and therefore give more photocatalytic activity to the WO3 nanoplates. 11Stem cell applications for pathologies of the urinary bladder显示文摘New stem cell based therapies are undergoing intense research and are widely investigated in clinical fields including the urinary system. The urinary bladder performs critical complex functions that rely on its highly coordinated anatomical composition and multiplex of regulatory mechanisms. Bladder pathologies resulting in severe dysfunction are common clinical encounter and often cause significant impairment of patient's quality of life. Current surgical and medical interventions to correct urinary dysfunction or to replace an absent or defective bladder are sub-optimal and are associated with notable complications. As a result, stem cell based therapies for the urinary bladder are hoped to offer new venues that could make up for limitations of existing therapies. In this article, we review research efforts that describe the use of different types of stem cells in bladder reconstruction, urinary incontinence and retention disorders. In particular, stress urinary incontinence has been a popular target for stem cell based therapies in reported clinical trials. Furthermore, we discuss the relevance of the cancer stem cell hypothesis to the development of bladder cancer. 12Novel non-invasive biological predictive index for liver fibrosis in hepatitis C virus genotype 4 patients显示文摘AIM To investigate the diagnostic ability of a non-invasive biological marker to predict liver fibrosis in hepatitis C genotype 4 patients with high accuracy.METHODS A cohort of 332 patients infected with hepatitis C genotype 4 was included in this cross-sectional study. Fasting plasma glucose, insulin, C-peptide, and angiotensinconverting enzyme serum levels were measured. Insulin resistance was mathematically calculated using the homeostasis model of insulin resistance(HOMA-IR).RESULTS Fibrosis stages were distributed based on Metavir score as follows: F0 = 43, F1 = 136, F2 = 64, F3 = 45 and F4 = 44. Statistical analysis relied upon reclassification of fibrosis stages into mild fibrosis(F0-F) = 179, moderate fibrosis(F2) = 64, and advanced fibrosis(F3-F4) = 89. Univariate analysis indicated that age, log aspartate amino transaminase, log HOMA-IR and log platelet count were independent predictors of liver fibrosis stage(P < 0.0001). A stepwise multivariate discriminant functional analysis was used to drive a discriminative model for liver fibrosis. Our index used cut-off values of ≥ 0.86 and ≤-0.31 to diagnose advanced and mild fibrosis, respectively, with receiving operating characteristics of 0.91 and 0.88, respectively.
