| 1 | Management of ruptured hepatocellular carcinoma:Implications for therapy显示文摘AIM:To assess the treatment and tumor-related variables associated with outcome after treatment of spontaneously ruptured hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).METHODS: Patients with ruptured HCC were identif ied. The complications, mortality and survival were assessed. The relationship between tumor size and the severity of hemoperitoneum and between tumor size and grade were examined.RESULTS: From January 1993 to January 2008, 556 patients with HCC with or without cirrhosis were evaluated; of which, 16 (2.87%) presented with spontaneous rupture. All but 1 patient had cirrhosis. Twelve patients underwent surgical resection while 4 underwent trans-cutaneous arterial catheter embolization (TAE) (trans-cutaneous arterial embolization). Early mortality (<30 d) was 25% (4 of 16) and was inversely relatedto Child-Pugh score; 3 of the 4 early deaths occurred in patients treated with TAE with 1 of 12 occurring in the resected group. There was no correlation between tumor size and grade or between size and severity of hemoperitoneum.CONCLUSION: Tumor size did not correlate with severity of the hemoperitoneum. | 2 | An integrated approach for increasing breeding efficiency in apple and peach in Europe显示文摘Despite the availability of whole genome sequences of apple and peach,there has been a considerable gap between genomics and breeding.To bridge the gap,the European Union funded the FruitBreedomics project(March 2011 to August 2015)involving 28 research institutes and private companies.Three complementary approaches were pursued:(i)tool and software development,(ii)deciphering genetic control of main horticultural traits taking into account allelic diversity and(iii)developing plant materials,tools and methodologies for breeders.Decisive breakthroughs were made including the making available of ready-to-go DNA diagnostic tests for Marker Assisted Breeding,development of new,dense SNP arrays in apple and peach,new phenotypic methods for some complex traits,software for gene/QTL discovery on breeding germplasm via Pedigree Based Analysis(PBA).This resulted in the discovery of highly predictive molecular markers for traits of horticultural interest via PBA and via Genome Wide Association Studies(GWAS)on several European genebank collections.FruitBreedomics also developed pre-breeding plant materials in which multiple sources of resistance were pyramided and software that can support breeders in their selection activities.Through FruitBreedomics,significant progresses were made in the field of apple and peach breeding,genetics,genomics and bioinformatics of which advantage will be made by breeders,germplasm curators and scientists.A major part of the data collected during the project has been stored in the FruitBreedomics database and has been made available to the public.This review covers the scientific discoveries made in this major endeavour,and perspective in the apple and peach breeding and genomics in Europe and beyond. | Francois Laurens Maria JoséAranzana Pere Arus Daniele Bassi Marco Bink Joan Bonany Andrea Caprera Luca Corelli-Grappadelli Evelyne Costes Charles-Eric Durel Jehan-Baptiste Mauroux Hélène Muranty Nelson Nazzicari Thierry Pascal Andrea Patocchi Andreas Peil Bénédicte Quilot-Turion Laura Rossini Alessandra Stella Michela Troggio Riccardo Velasco Eric van de Weg | 2018 | Horticulture Research2018，5，1： | 10 |

| 4 | Sugars in peach fruit: a breeding perspective显示文摘The last decade has been characterized by a decrease in peach(Prunus persica)fruit consumption in many countries,foremost due to unsatisfactory quality.The sugar content is one of the most important quality traits perceived by consumers,and the development of novel peach cultivars with sugar-enhanced content is a primary objective of breeding programs to revert the market inertia.Nevertheless,the progress reachable through classical phenotypic selection is limited by the narrow genetic bases of peach breeding material and by the complex quantitative nature of the trait,which is deeply affected by environmental conditions and agronomical management.The development of molecular markers applicable in MAS or MAB has become an essential strategy to boost the selection efficiency.Despite the enormous advances in‘omics’sciences,providing powerful tools for plant genotyping,the identification of the genetic bases of sugar-related traits is hindered by the lack of adequate phenotyping methods that are able to address strong within-plant variability.This review provides an overview of the current knowledge of the metabolic pathways and physiological mechanisms regulating sugar accumulation in peach fruit,the main advances in phenotyping approaches and genetic background,and finally addressing new research priorities and prospective for breeders. | Marco Cirilli Daniele Bassi Angelo Ciacciulli | 2016 | Horticulture Research2016，3，1： | 6 |
| 5 | Perianal Crohn's disease: Is there something new?显示文摘Perianal lesions are common in patients with Crohn's disease, and display aggressive behavior in some cases. An accurate diagnosis is necessary for the optimal management of perianal lesions. Treatment of perianal Crohn's disease includes medical and/or surgical options. Recent discoveries in the pathogenesis of this disease have led to advances in medical and surgical therapy with good results. Perianal lesions in Crohn's disease remain a challenging aspect for both gastroenterologists and surgeons and lead to a greatly impaired quality of life for all patients affected by this disease. | 6 | Current status of peroral cholangioscopy in biliary tract diseases显示文摘Peroral cholangioscopy(POC) is an important tool for the management of a selected group of biliary diseases. Because of its direct visualization, POC allows targeted diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. POC can be performed using a dedicated cholangioscope that is advanced through the accessory channel of a duodenoscope or via the insertion of a small-diameter endoscope directly into the bile duct. POC was first described in the 1970 s, but the use of earlier generation devices was substantially limited by the cumbersome equipment setup and high repair costs. For nearly ten years, several technical improvements, including the single-operator system, high-quality images, the development of dedicated accessories and the increased size of the working channel, have led to increased diagnostic accuracy, thus assisting in the differentiation of benign and malignant intraductal lesions, targeting biopsies and the precise delineation of intraductal tumor spread before surgery. Furthermore, lithotripsy of difficult bile duct stones, ablative therapies for biliary malignancies and direct biliary drainage can be performed under POC control. Recent developments of new types of conventional POCs allow feasible, safe and effective procedures at reasonable costs.
