| 1 | Management of ampullary neoplasms: A tailored approach between endoscopy and surgery显示文摘Ampullary neoplasms,although rare,present distinctive clinical and pathological features from other neoplastic lesions of the periampullary region.No specific guidelines about their management are available,and they are often assimilated either to biliary tract or to pancreatic carcinomas.Due to their location,they tend to become symptomatic at an earlier stage compared to pancreatic malignancies.This behaviour results in a higher resectability rate at diagnosis.From a pathological point of view they arise in a zone of transition between two different epithelia,and,according to their origin,may be divided into pancreatobiliary or intestinal type.This classification has a substantial impact on prognosis.In most cases,pancreaticoduodenectomy represents the treatment of choice when there is an overt or highly suspicious malignant behaviour.The rate of potentially curative resection is as high as 90% and in high-volume centres an acceptable rate of complications is reported.In selected situations less invasive approaches,such as ampullectomy,have been advocated,although there are some concerns mainly because of a higher recurrence rate associated with limited resections for invasive carcinomas.Importantly,these methods have the drawback of not including an appropriate lymphadenectomy,while nodal involvement has been shown to be frequently present also in apparently lowrisk carcinomas.Endoscopic ampullectomy is now the procedure of choice in case of low up to high-grade dysplasia providing a proper assessment of the T status by endoscopic ultrasound.In the present paper the evidence currently available is reviewed,with the aim of offering an updated framework for diagnosis and management of this specific type of disease. | Francesca Panzeri Stefano Crippa Paola Castelli Francesca Aleotti Alessandro Pucci Stefano Partelli Giuseppe Zamboni Massimo Falconi | 2015 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2015,21,26: | 6 |

| 6 | Phase Contrast Micro-Computed Tomography of Biological Sample at SSRF显示文摘In line X-ray phase contrast micro-computed tomography(IL-XPCT),which can be implemented at third generation synchrotron radiation sources or by using a micro-focus X-ray tube,is a powerful technique for non-destructive,high-resolution investigations of a broad variety of materials.At the Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility(SSRF),the X-ray Imaging and Biomedical Applications Beamline was built and started regular user operation in May 2009.Both qualitative(without phase retrieval) and quantitative(with phase retrieval) three-dimensional IL-XPCT experimental techniques have been established at the beamline.IL-XPCT experiments of a test sample(plastic pipes) used to evaluate the technique,and of a biological sample(locust) at the beamline are reported.Two series of images,qualitative and quantitative,including tomographic slices and three-dimensional rendering images were obtained.In qualitative images,there is a strong edge-enhancement which leads to very clear sample contours,while in quantitative images,the edge-enhancement fades but quantitative measurement of sample's phase information could be achieved.The experiments demonstrate that the combination of qualitative and quantitative images is useful for biological sample studies. | 陈荣昌 谢红兰 Luigi Rigon 杜国浩 Edoardo Castelli 肖体乔 | 2010 | Tsinghua Science and Technology2010,15,1: | 2 |

| 9 | The emerging role of probiotics in neurodegenerative diseases:new hope for Parkinson’s disease?显示文摘Neurodegenerative disease etiology is still unclear,but different contributing factors,such as lifestyle and genetic factors are involved.Altered components of the gut could play a key role in the gut-brain axis,which is a bidirectional system between the central nervous system and the enteric nervous system.Variations in the composition of the gut microbiota and its function between healthy people and patients have been reported for a variety of human disorders comprising metabolic,autoimmune,cancer,and,notably,neurodegenerative disorders.Diet can alter the microbiota composition,affecting the gutbrain axis function.Different nutraceutical interventions have been devoted to normalizing gut microbiome dysbiosis and to improving biological outcomes in neurological conditions,including the use of probiotics.Preclinical and clinical investigations discussed in this review strengthen the correlation between intestinal microbiota and brain and the concept that modifying the microbiome composition may improve brain neurochemistry,modulating different pathways.This review will discuss the potential use of probiotics for Parkinson’s disease prevention or treatment or as adjuvant therapy,confirming that gut microbiota modulation influences different pro-survival pathways.Future investigations in Parkinson’s disease should consider the role of the gut-brain axis and additional comprehension of the underlying mechanisms is extremely necessary. | Vanessa Castelli Michele d’Angelo Massimiliano Quintiliani Elisabetta Benedetti Maria Grazia Cifone Annamaria Cimini | 2021 | Neural Regeneration Research2021,16,4: | 2 |
