| 1 | Molecular study on Y chromosome microdeletions in Egyptian males with idiopathic infertility显示文摘Aim:To determine the frequency of genetic deletions within the azoospermia factors in Egyptian infertile males.Methods:The Yq microdeletions in 33 infertile males with undetectable chromosomal anomalies were examined by mutiplex polymerase chain reaction (PCR).Deletions were confirmed using single PCR amplifications.Results:Four out of the total 33 (12%) men had Yqll microdeletions,thus supporting the average reported figures in other populations.Three of those 4 cases had single short tandem sequence deletions with discrete histological findings of their testes.Single sY272 deletion within AZFc was associated with Sertoli cell only syndrome,whereas a patient with isolated sY84 deletion within AZFa had immature testicular structure.The remaining case had a large deletion in AZFa-c and short stature.Conclusion:The present study supports the hypothesis that the Yq11 encompasses genetic determinants of stature besides genes controlling spermatogenesis.(Asian J Androl 2004 Mar;6:53-57) | Mostafa K. | 3 | Effects of Eu3+ and Dy3+ doping or co-doping on optical and structural properties of BaB2Si2O8 phosphor for white LED applications显示文摘A series of Eu3+ and Dy3+ doped/co-doped as well as un-doped BaB2Si2O8 phosphors were synthesized via solid state reaction method. The PL result showed typical blue and green emission from Dy3+ and red emission from Eu3+. The f-f transitions involving the lanthanide ions along with dopant site occupancy were discussed thoroughly. Phonon assisted energy transfer process was observed from Eu3+ to Dy3+, which enhanced the emissions of Dy3+. Combinations of the emissions from Eu3+ and Dy3+ showed a possible white to red tuneable emission on the CIE diagram. The white warmth emissions of the phosphor were revealed to be adjustable through designing the dopant concentration and excitation wavelengths. An unusual energy transfer that originated from Eu3+ to Dy3+ was also discovered and the energy transfer mechanism was discussed. Proposed energy transfer mechanism was investigated using luminescence decay lifetime. All the phosphor exhibited efficient excitation in the UV range which matched well with the emissions from Ga N-based LED chips. This presented the Ba B2Si2O8 phosphor as a promising candidate for white LED applications. | 4 | Analytical Investigation of Soliton Solutions to Three Quantum Zakharov-Kuznetsov Equations显示文摘In the present paper, the two-dimensional quantum Zakharov-Kuznetsov(QZK) equation, three-dimensional quantum Zakharov-Kuznetsov equation and the three-dimensional modified quantum Zakharov-Kuznetsov equation are analytically investigated for exact solutions using the modified extended tanh-expansion based method. A variety of new and important soliton solutions are obtained including the dark soliton solution, singular soliton solution, combined dark-singular soliton solution and many other trigonometric function solutions. | 5 | MEBO能促进慢性压力性溃疡的愈合吗?——一个前瞻性、多中心、随机的临床研究显示文摘目的评估湿润烧伤膏(MEBO)治疗慢性压力性溃疡的效果和安全性。方法将来自世界不同国家和地区的5家医院的87名慢性压力性溃疡病例(182个创面)随机分成两组,实验组为MEBO组(n=41),对照组为Fucidin组(n=46);前瞻性收集的数据包括人口统计学、营养状况、潜在性疾病和并发症。分别按照各组的创面处理规范治疗创面,每2周计算和比较溃疡面的面积(SA)和愈合指数(HI)。结果两组都具有相同的统计学、临床、生化和溃疡特征。在持续使用MEBO治疗12周的过程中,在第2周和第4周可以观察到溃疡创面的愈合指数大幅度上升,溃疡创面明显减小。通过MEBO治疗的病例,半数以上(56.5%)的溃疡创面在12周之内都完全愈合(HI=1);通过Fucidin(P<0.001)治疗的对照组病例,只有19.6%的溃疡创面完全愈合。在连续12周的治疗中,MEBO组病例的溃疡创面没有HI<50%的,而在Fucidin(P<0.001)治疗的对照组中,26.8%的病例HI<50%。两组均未出现不良反应与过敏症状。结论 MEBO能够在治疗开始2周后快速促进不同程度慢性压力性溃疡创面的愈合,并且HI增长明显。在12周之内,MEBO能够完全促进50%以上的创面愈合。 | Mahmoud F.Sakr 陈永翀 Ahmed K. | 15 | INVESTIGATION OF BONDING IN NANO-SiO_(2) BY Si L_(2,3) X-RAY ABSORPTION NEAR-EDGE STRUCTURE SPECTROSCOPY显示文摘The Si L2,3 X-ray absorption near-edge structure (XANES) can be used to probe the local structure around Si and derive electronic information of the unoccupied s- and d-like partial density of states in nano-size SiO2. We present Si L2,3-edge for three different size silicates acquired by total electron yield (TEY) at the photoemission station of Beijing Synchrotron Radiation Facility (BSRF). The Si L2,3-edge spectra are interpreted based on ab initio full multiple-scattering (MS) calculation. The Si L2,3-edge of nano-size materials has XANES similar to that of a-quartz. The similarities between the Si L2,3-edge shapes attest to a common molecular-orbital picture of their Si-O bonding and the same coordination state.
