| 1 | Bedside ultrasound in the diagnosis of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease显示文摘Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)is the most common liver disease in the United States.While the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases guidelines define NAFLD as hepatic steatosis detected either on histology or imaging without a secondary cause of abnormal hepatic fat accumulation,no imaging modality is recommended as standard of care for screening or diagnosis.Bedside ultrasound has been evaluated as a non-invasive method of diagnosing NAFLD with the presence of characteristic sonographic findings.Prior studies suggest characteristic sonographic findings for NAFLD include bright hepatic echoes,increased hepatorenal echogenicity,vascular blurring of portal or hepatic vein and subcutaneous tissue thickness.These sonographic characteristics have not been shown to aid bedside clinicians easily identify potential cases of NAFLD.While sonographic findings such as attenuation of image,diffuse echogenicity,uniform heterogeneous liver,thick subcutaneous depth,and enlarged liver filling of the entire field could be identifiedby clinicians from bedside ultrasound.The accessibility,ease of use,and low-side effect profile of ultrasound make bedside ultrasound an appealing imaging modality in the detection of hepatic steatosis.When used with appropriate clinical risk factors and steatosis involves greater than 33%of the liver,ultrasound can reliably diagnose NAFLD.Despite the ability of ultrasound in detecting moderate hepatic steatosis,it cannot replace liver biopsy in staging the degree of fibrosis.The purpose of this review is to examine the diagnostic accuracy,utility,and limitations of ultrasound in the diagnosis of NAFLD and its potential use by clinicians in routine practices. | Nancy Khov Amol Sharma Thomas R Riley | 2014 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2014，20，22： | 11 |
| 2 | Development of time series stacks of Landsat images for reconstructing forest disturbance history显示文摘Forest dynamics is highly relevant to a broad range of earth science studies,many of which have geographic coverage ranging from regional to global scales.While the temporally dense Landsat acquisitions available in many regions provide a unique opportunity for understanding forest disturbance history dating back to 1972,large quantities of Landsat images will need to be analysed for studies at regional to global scales.This will not only require effective change detection algorithms,but also highly automated,high level preprocessing capabilities to produce images with subpixel geolocation accuracies and best achievable radiometric consistency,a status called imagery-ready-to-use(IRU).This paper describes a streamlined approach for producing IRU quality Landsat time series stacks(LTSS).This approach consists of an image selection protocol,high level preprocessing algorithms and IRU quality verification procedures.The high level preprocessing algorithms include updated radiometric calibration and atmospheric correction for calculating surface reflectance and precision registration and orthorectification routines for improving geolocation accuracy.These automated routines have been implemented in the Landsat Ecosystem Disturbance Adaptive System(LEDAPS)designed for processing large quantities of Landsat images.Some characteristics of the LTSS developed using this approach are discussed. | Chengquan Huang Samuel N.Goward Jeffrey G.Masek Feng Gao Eric F.Vermote Nancy Thomas Karen Schleeweis Robert E.Kennedy Zhiliang Zhu Jeffery C.Eidenshink John R.G.Townshend | 2009 | International Journal of Digital Earth2009，2，3： | 5 |
