| 2 | Bifidobacterium lactis attenuates onset of inflammation in a murine model of colitis显示文摘AIM: To assess the anti-inflammatory effect of the probiotic Bifidobacterium lactis (B. lactis) in an adoptive transfer model of colitis. METHODS: Donor and recipient mice received either B. lactis or bacterial culture medium as control (deMan Rogosa Sharpe) in drinking water for one week prior to transfer of a mix of naive and regulatory T cells until sacrifice. RESULTS: All recipient mice developed signs of colonic inflammation, but a significant reduction of weight loss was observed in B. lactis-fed recipient mice compared to control mice. Moreover, a trend toward a diminution of mucosal thickness and attenuated epithelial damage was revealed. Colonic expression of pro-inflammatory and T cell markers was significantly reduced in B. lactis-fed recipient mice compared to controls. Concomitantly, forkhead box protein 3, a marker of regulatory T cells, was significantly up-regulated by B. lactis. | 3 | Comparison of inhaled milrinone, nitric oxide and prostacyclin in acute respiratory distress syndrome显示文摘AIM To evaluate the safety and efficacy of inhaled milrinone in acute respiratory distress syndrome(ARDS).METHODS Open-label prospective cross-over pilot study where fifteen adult patients with hypoxemic failure meeting standard ARDS criteria and monitored with a pulmonary artery catheter were recruited in an academic 24-bed medico-surgical intensive care unit. Random sequential administration of i NO(20 ppm) or nebulized epoprostenol(10 μg/mL) was done in all patients. Thereafter, inhaled milrinone(1 mg/mL) alone followed by inhaled milrinone in association with inhaled nitric oxide(iN O) was administered. A jet nebulization device synchronized with the mechanical ventilation was use to administrate the epoprostenol and the milrinone. Hemodynamic measurements and partial pressure of arterial oxygen(PaO_2) were recorded before and after each inhaled therapyadministration.RESULTS The majority of ARDS were of pulmonary cause(n = 13) and pneumonia(n = 7) was the leading underlying initial disease. Other pulmonary causes of ARDS were: Post cardiopulmonary bypass(n = 2), smoke inhalation injury(n = 1), thoracic trauma and pulmonary contusions(n = 2) and aspiration(n = 1). Two patients had an extra pulmonary cause of ARDS: A polytrauma patient and an intra-abdominal abscess Inhaled nitric oxide, epoprostenol, inhaled milrinone and the combination of inhaled milrinone and i NO had no impact on systemic hemodynamics. No significant adverse events related to study medications were observed. The median increase of PaO 2 from baseline was 8.8 mmH g [interquartile range(IQR) = 16.3], 6.0 mm Hg(IQR = 18.4), 6 mm Hg(IQR = 15.8) and 9.2 mm Hg(IQR = 20.2) respectively with i NO, epoprostenol, inhaled milrinone, and i NO added to milrinone. Only i NO and the combination of inhaled milrinone and i NO had a statistically significant effect on PaO 2. CONCLUSION When comparing the effects of inhaled NO, milrinone and epoprostenol, only NO significantly improved oxygenation. | 4 | Molecular phylogeny of Trametes and related genera,and description of a new genus Leiotrametes显示文摘A phylogenetic analysis of Trametes and related taxa is proposed,based on a wide sampling of temperate and tropical species.Concatenate sequences of ribosomal DNA(ITS1-5.8S-ITS2)and RPB2 gene from mycelia cultures were analyzed by Maximum Likelihood and Bayesian methods,whilst morphological features were documented from the corresponding herbarium vouchers.Congruent results were obtained from analyses of ribosomal LSU sequences downloaded from Genbank.The Bayesian analysis of ITS+RPB2 sequences gave the best resolution for the phylogenetic reconstructions and revealed the existence of three main lineages in the Trametes-clade:1)a monospecific lineage represented by Artolenzites elegans 2)a lineage including the genus Pycnoporus in its traditional sense and several species usually classified in the genus Trametes(T.cingulata,T.lactinea,T.ljubarskyi,T.menziesii)&3)a lineage corresponding to the core genus Trametes,including type species of Trametes,Coriolopsis and Lenzites.The presence of a pseudostipe,aspect and structure of the abhymenial surface,colour change with 5%aqueous solutions of potassium hydroxide and topography of pigments on skeletal hyphae gave relevant morphological support to these clades.When the structure of the hymenial surface,presence of a black line below the tomentum and color of context(except for genus Pycnoporus)usually used in traditional polypore-classifications did not reveal any phylogenetic significance.A partial systematic arrangement of the Trametes clade is proposed,with the introduction of a new genus:Leiotrametes Welti&Courtec.gen.nov..Two new combinations:Leiotrametes lactinea(Berk.)Welti&Courtec.comb.nov.and L.menziesii(Berk.)Welti&Courtec.comb.nov.are proposed. | Stéphane Welti Pierre-Arthur Moreau Anne Favel Régis Courtecuisse Mireille Haon David Navarro Sabine Taussac Laurence Lesage-Meessen | 2012 | Fungal Diversity2012,,4: | 3 |
| 5 | 胎儿期恰逢1959~1961年饥荒的中国成人精神分裂症的发病率显示文摘背景:精神分裂症是一种常见的中度精神障碍。子宫内营养缺乏可增大患精神分裂症的危险。其主要依据来自1944~1945年荷兰饥饿冬天(Dutch Hunger Winter)研究,当时食品摄入在短期内极剧下降。这项有关饥荒期间受孕人群的大型队列研究显示,发生精神分裂症的危险增大两倍。
目的:确定经受1959~1961年大饥荒的中国人是否有相似的结果。
设计、地点及参试者:发生精神分裂症危险的调查于安徽省芜湖地区进行,这是当初受灾最重的地区之一。对饥荒之前、饥荒期间和饥荒以后出生的人群发病率进行比较。芜湖及其周围6个县是由一所精神病院负责的。对1971~2001年所有的精神病病历记录均进行检查。精神分裂症患者的临床和社会人口学资料由对自然灾害暴露情况不知情的研究者摘录。有关饥荒年出生人数和死亡人数的数据是有效可用的,累积死亡率根据以后的人口学调查进行估计。
主要观测指标:饥荒的证据已经核实,计算未校正的以及对死亡率进行校正后的发生精神分裂症的相对危险度。
结果:安徽省的出生率(每1000人)在饥荒期问降低了约80%,从1958年的28.28降至1959年的20.97、1960年的8.61和1961年的11.06。在饥荒期间出生的人,晚年发生精神分裂症的校正后危险明显增高,从1959年的0.84%增至1960年的2.15%和1961年的1.81%。死亡率校正相对危险在1960年出生者为2.30(95%可信区间,1.99~2.05),1961年出生者为1.93(95%可信区间,1.68~2.23)。
