Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. Therefore the observation of Insight-HXMT constitutes an important chapter in the full context of multi-wavelength and multi-messenger observation of this historical GW event. | TiPei Li ShaoLin Xiong ShuangNan Zhang FangJun Lu LiMing Song XueLei Cao Zhi Chang Gang Chen Li Chen TianXiang Chen Yong Chen YiBao Chen YuPeng Chen Wei Cui WeiWei Cui JingKang Deng YongWei Dong YuanYuan Du MinXue Fu GuanHua Gao He Gao Min Gao MingYu Ge YuDong Gu Ju Guan ChengCheng Guo DaWei Han Wei Hu Yue Huang Jia Huo ShuMei Jia LuHua Jiang WeiChun Jiang Jing Jin YongJie Jin Bing Li ChengKui Li Gang Li MaoShun Li Wei Li Xian Li XiaoBo Li XuFang Li YanGuo Li ZiJian Li ZhengWei Li XiaoHua Liang JinYuan Liao CongZhan Liu GuoQing Liu HongWei Liu ShaoZhen Liu XiaoJing Liu Yuan Liu YiNong Liu Bo Lu XueFeng Lu Tao Luo Xiang Ma Bin Meng Yi Nang JianYin Nie Ge OU JinLu Qu Na Sai Liang Sun Yin Tan Lian Tao WenHui Tao YouLi Tuo GuoFeng Wang HuanYu Wang Juan Wang WenShuai Wang YuSa Wang XiangYang Wen BoBing WU Mei Wu GuangCheng Xiao He Xu YuPeng Xu LinLi Yan JiaWei Yang Sheng Yang YanJi Yang AiMei Zhang ChunLei Zhang ChengMo Zhang Fan Zhang HongMei Zhang Juan Zhang Qiang Zhang Shu Zhang Tong Zhang Wei Zhang WanChang Zhang WenZhao Zhang Yi Zhang Yue Zhang YiFei Zhang YongJie Zhang Zhao Zhang ZiLiang Zhang HaiSheng Zhao JianLing Zhao XiaoFan Zhao ShiJie Zheng Yue Zhu YuXuan Zhu ChangLin Zou | 2018 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2018,61,3: | 12

Characterization of particle number size distribution and new particle formation in Southern China显示文摘Knowledge of particle number size distribution(PND) and new particle formation(NPF)events in Southern China is essential for mitigation strategies related to submicron particles and their effects on regional air quality, haze, and human health. In this study, seven field measurement campaigns were conducted from December 2013 to May 2015 using a scanning mobility particle sizer(SMPS) at four sites in Southern China, including three urban sites and one background site.Particles were measured in the size range of15-515 nm,and the median particle number concentrations(PNCs) were found to vary in the range of 0.3× 10~4-2.2 × 10~4 cn^(-3) at the urban sites and were approximately 0.2 × 10~4 cm^(-3) at the background site. The peak diameters at the different sites varied largely from 22 to 102 nm.The PNCs in the Aitken mode(25-100 nm) at the urban sites were up to 10 times higher than they were at the background site, indicating large primary emissions from traffic at the urban sites. The diurnal variations of PNCs were significantly influenced by both rush hour traffic at the urban sites and NPF events. The frequencies of NPF events at the different sites were0%-30%,with the highest frequency occurring at an urban site during autumn. With higher SO_2 concentrations and higher ambient temperatures being necessary,NPF at the urban site was found to be more influenced by atmospheric oxidizing capability, while NPF at the background site was limited by the condensation sink. This study provides a unique dataset of particle number and size information in various environments in Southern China, which can help understand the sources, formation, and the climate forcing of aerosols in this quickly developing region,as well as help constrain and validate NPF modeling. | Xiaofeng Huang Chuan Wang Jianfei Peng Lingyan He Liming Cao Qiao Zhu Jie Cui Zhijun Wu Min Hu | 2017 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2017,29,1: | 4

Delayed cardiac tamponade diagnosed by point-of-care ultrasound in a neonate after peripherally inserted central catheter placement: A case report显示文摘BACKGROUND Peripherally inserted central catheters(PICCs)have been increasingly applied worldwide owing to many advantages.Even with these advantages, the related complications should not be ignored, especially in neonates. The available evidence about PICC-related thrombosis was manifold, but the cardiac tamponade,an emergency and life-threatening complication, has been rarely reported.Early recognized cardiac tamponade by ultrasound may reduce mortality.CASE SUMMARY A neonate weighting 2.8 kg was born at 40 wk of gestation. He was admitted to the Surgery Intensive Care Unit due to suspected congenital megacolon.A PICC line was inserted via the left antecubital fossa for the administration of total parenteral nutrition.Three days later, the patient was still on total parenteral nutrition.Cardiac tamponade caused by PICC was found on ultrasound. The patient recovered spontaneously after an emergency pericardiocentesis.CONCLUSION Proficiency in the use of point-of-care ultrasound may save the life of patients, since it enables clinicians to treat patients faster, more accurately, and in a noninvasive way at the point of care. | Yu Cui Kai Liu Liming Luan Peng Liang | 2021 | World Journal of Clinical Cases2021,9,3: | 3
Quantitative deconvolution of autocorrelations and cross correlations from two-dimensional lifetime decay maps in fluorescence lifetime correlation spectroscopy显示文摘Fluorescence correlation spectroscopy(FCS) is a widely used method for measuring molecular diffusion and chemical kinetics. However, when a mixture of fluorescent species is taken into account, the conventional FCS method has limitations in extracting autocorrelations for different species and cross correlations between different species. Recently developed fluorescence lifetime correlation spectroscopy(FLCS) based on time-tagged time-resolved(TTTR) photon recording, which can record the global and micro arrival time for each individual photon, has been used to discriminate different species according to fluorescence lifetime. Here, based on two-dimensional lifetime decay maps constructed from TTTR photon stream, we have developed a quantitative lifetime-deconvolution FCS model(LDFCS) to extract precise chemical rates for chemical conversions in multi-species systems. The key point of LDFCS model is separation of different species according to the global distribution of fluorescence lifetime and then deconvolution of autocorrelations and cross-correlations from the two-dimensional lifetime decay maps constructed by the micro arrival times of photon pairs at each delay time. | Shanshan Gao Menghua Cui Ruiru Li Ling Liang Ying Liu Liming Xie | 2017 | Science Bulletin2017,62,1: | 2

High performance inkjet-printed QLEDs with 18.3% EQE: improving interfacial contact by novel halogen-free binary solvent system显示文摘Poly[(9,9-dioctylfluorenyl-2,7-diyl)-alt(4,4′-(N-(4-butylphenyl))](TFB),one of the most popular and widely used hole-transport layer(HTL)materials, has been successfully applied in high performance spin-coated quantum dots-based light-emitting diodes(QLEDs)due to its suitable energy level and high mobility. However, there are still many challenging issues in inkjet-printed QLED devices when using TFB as HTL.TFB normally suffers from the interlayer mixing and erosion, and low surface energy against the good film formation. Here,a novel environment-friendly binary solvent system was established for formulating quantum dot(QD)inks, which is based on mixing halogen-free alkane solvents of decalin and n-tridecane.The optimum volume ratio for the mixture of decalin and n-tridecane was found to be 7:3,at which a stable ink jetting flow and coffee-ring free QD films could be formed. To research the influence of substrate surface on the formation of inkjet-printed QD films,TFB was annealed at different temperatures, and the optimum annealing temperature was found to enable high quality inkjet-printed QD film.Inkjet-printed red QLED was ultimately manufactured.A maximum 18.3%of external quantum efficiency(EQE)was achieved, reaching 93%of the spin-coated QLED,which is the best reported high efficiency inkjet-printed red QLEDs to date.In addition, the inkjet-printed QLED achieved similar T75 operational lifetime(27 h)as compared to the spin-coated reference QLED(28 h)at 2,000 cd·m−2.This work demonstrated that the novel orthogonal halogen-free alkane co-solvents can improve the interfacial contact and facilitate high-performance inkjet printing QLEDs with high EQE and stability. | Ming Chen Liming Xie Changting Wei Yuan-Qiu-Qiang Yi Xiaolian Chen Jian Yang Jinyong Zhuang Fushan Li Wenming Su Zheng Cui | 2021 | Nano Research2021,14,11: | 2
In Situ Electrochemical Mn(Ⅲ)/Mn(Ⅳ) Generation of Mn(Ⅱ)O Electrocatalysts for High-Performance Oxygen Reduction显示文摘Among various earth-abundant and noble metal-free catalysts for oxygen reduction reaction(ORR),manganese-based oxides are promising candidates owing to the rich variety of manganese valence.Herein,an extremely facile method for the synthesis of cubic and orthorhombic phase coexisting Mn(Ⅱ)O electrocatalyst as an efficient ORR catalyst was explored. The obtained MnO electrocatalyst with oxygen vacancies shows a significantly elevated ORR catalytic activity with a half-wave potential(E1/2) of as high as 0.895 V,in comparison with that of commercial Pt/C(E1/2=0.877 V).More impressively, the MnO electrocatalyst exhibits a marked activity enhancement after test under a constant applied potential for 1000 s thanks to the in situ generation and stable presence of high-valence manganese species(Mn^3+ and Mn^4+) during the electrochemical process, initiating a synergetic catalytic effect with oxygen vacancies, which is proved to largely accelerate the adsorption and reduction of O_2 molecules favoring the ORR activity elevation.Such an excellent ORR catalytic performance of this MnO electrocatalyst is applied in Zn-air battery, which shows an extra-high peak power density of 63.2 mW cm^-2 in comparison with that(47.4 m W cm^-2) of commercial Pt/C under identical test conditions. | Han Tian Liming Zeng Yifan Huang Zhonghua Ma Ge Meng Lingxin Peng Chang Chen Xiangzhi Cui Jianlin Shi | 2020 | Nano-Micro Letters2020,12,11: | 2
Auxin signaling module OsSK41-OsIAA10-OsARF regulates grain yield traits in rice显示文摘Auxin is an important phytohormone in plants, and auxin signaling pathways in rice play key roles in regulating its growth, development, and productivity. To investigate how rice grain yield traits are regulated by auxin signaling pathways and to facilitate their application in rice improvement, we validated the functional relationships among regulatory genes such as OsIAA10, OsSK41, and OsARF21 that are involved in one of the auxin(OsIAA10) signaling pathways. We assessed the phenotypic effects of these genes on several grain yield traits across two environments using knockout and/or overexpression transgenic lines.Based on the results, we constructed a model that showed how grain yield traits were regulated by OsIAA10 and OsTIR1, OsAFB2, and OsSK41 and OsmiR393 in the OsSK41-OsIAA10-OsARF module and by OsARF21 in the transcriptional regulation of downstream auxin response genes in the OsSK41-OsIAA10-OsARF module. The population genomic analyses revealed rich genetic diversity and the presence of major functional alleles at most of these loci in rice populations. The strong differentiation of many major alleles between Xian/indica and Geng/japonica subspecies and/or among modern varieties and landraces suggested that they contributed to improved productivity during evolution and breeding. We identified several important aspects associated with the genetic and molecular bases of rice grain and yield traits that were regulated by auxin signaling pathways. We also suggested rice auxin response factor(OsARF) activators as candidate target genes for improving specific target traits by overexpression and/or editing subspecies-specific alleles and by searching and pyramiding the ‘best' gene allelic combinations at multiple regulatory genes in auxin signaling pathways in rice breeding programs. | Fuying Ma Fan Zhang Yu Zhu Dengyong Lan Peiwen Yan Ying Wang Zejun Hu Xinwei Zhang Jian Hu Fuan Niu Mingyu Liu Shicong He Jinhao Cui Xinyu Yuan Ying Yan Shujun Wu Liming Cao Hongwu Bian Jinshui Yang Zhikang Li Xiaojin Luo | 2023 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2023,65,7: | 1
A case study of digital-twin-modelling analysis on power-plant-performance optimizations显示文摘China Energy’s National Institute of Clean-and-Low-Carbon Energy(NICE)is developing a Power Plant Smart Management(PPSM)platform that employs digital-twin technology to undertake techno-economic modelling analysis on China Energy’s existing coal-fired power-plant units and explore cost-effective solutions to improve those plant units’thermal efficiencies and operating performance. This paper presents a case study of PPSM on a 320-MWe coal-fired thermal power-plant unit, demonstrating how the digital-twin technology was employed to explore and analyse optimization solutions.Various optimization solutions and their cost-effectiveness were assessed using the digital-twin-modelling analysis;the results indicated the optimization solutions are expected to improve the plant unit’s operating efficiency and reduce its current electricity-generation coal consumption by up to 3.5 g/kWh standard coal equivalent(sce),worth annual fuel-cost savings of approximately 4 million RMB for a single unit or 8 million RMB for the two identical 320-MWe units that the power plant currently operates. The digital twin was also employed to assess the power-plant unit’s operating economics during both summer and winter. In summer, when the unit operates in electricity-generation-only mode, the unit’s operating thermal efficiency could drop by up to 6%points following the grid demand of load changes from 100%maximum continuous rating(MCR)down to 30% MCR,resulting in an~45 RMB/MWh increase of electricity-generation cost.In winter, when the unit operates in combined heat and power(CHP)cogeneration mode, for the same boiler load, the CHP operation increases the plant unit’s operating profit with increasing district-heating duty, although the relative profit gain from the CHP cogeneration could start to decrease when the district-heating steam-extraction flow increases to a certain point that varies depending on the market prices of heat and electricity, while the fuel cost was found to be equivalent to~50% of the unit’s total CHP income cogenerated from its electricity and district heat outputs. | Bin Xu June Wang Xinping Wang Zhihong Liang Liming Cui Xiao Liu Anthony Y.Ku | 2019 | Clean Energy2019,3,3: | 1

Carbon-supported layered double hydroxide nanodots for efficient oxygen evolution: Active site identification and activity enhancement显示文摘In this study,we developed a novel confinement-synthesis approach to layered double hydroxide nanodots(LDH-NDs)anchored on carbon nanoparticles, which formed a three-dimensional(3D)interconnected network within a porous carbon support derived from pyrolysis of metal-organic frameworks(C-MOF).The resultant LDH-NDs@C-MOF nonprecious metal catalysts were demonstrated to exhibit super-high catalytic performance for oxygen evolution reaction(OER)with excellent operation stability and low overpotential(-230 mV)at an exchange current density of 10 mA·cm^(-2).The observed overpotential for the LDH-NDs@C-MOF is much lower than that of large-sized LDH nanosheets(321 mV),pure carbonized MOF(411 mV),and even commercial RuO_(2)(281 mV).X-ray absorption measurements and density functional theory(DFT)calculations revealed partial charge transfer from Fe^(3+)through an O bridge to Ni^(2+)at the edge of LDH-NDs supported by C-MOF to produce the optimal binding energies for OER intermediates. This, coupled with a large number of exposed active sides and efficient charge and electrolyte/reactant/product transports associated with the porous 3D C-MOF support, significantly boosted the OER performance of the LDH-ND catalyst with respect to its nanosheet counterpart.Apart from the fact that this is the first active side identification for LDH-ND OER catalysts, this work provides a general strategy to enhance activities of nanosheet catalysts by converting them into edge-rich nanodots to be supported by 3D porous carbon architectures. | Shenlong Zhao Detao Zhang Shuai Jiang Yanglansen Cui Haijing Li Juncai Dong Zhirun Xie Da-Wei Wang Rose Amal Zhenhai Xia Liming Dai | 2021 | Nano Research2021,14,9: | 1

Mediating role of resilience in the relationship between COVID-19 related stigma and mental health among COVID-19 survivors:a cross-sectional study显示文摘Background The global coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)has caused many negative effects on physical and mental health of patients who have survived COVID-19.Apart from some long-lasting physical sequelae, those COVID-19 survivors are also suffering stigma and discrimination at different levels around the world. The current study aims to assess the role resilience played in stigma and mental disorders among COVID-19 survivors. Methods The cross-sectional study was carried out among former COVID-19 patients in Jianghan District(Wuhan,China)from June 10 to July 25,2021.The demographic questions, the Impact of Events Scale-Revised,the Generalized Anxiety Disorder Questionnaire, the Patient Health Questionnaire, the Resilience Style Questionnaire and the Short Version of COVID-19 Stigma Scale of 12 items were used to collect relevant information of the participants.Descriptive analyses,Pearson correlation analysis and Structural Equation Modeling were used to make data description and analysis. Results A total of 1541 out of 1601 COVID-19 survivors(887 females and 654 males)were included in the analysis.Perceived stigma of those COVID-19 survivors correlates significantly with anxiety(r=0.335,P<0.001),depression(r=0.325,P<0.001)and post-traumatic stress disorder(PTSD)(r=0.384,P<0.001).It has a direct effect on COVID-19 survivors’anxiety(β=0.326,P<0.001),depression(β=0.314,P<0.001),PTSD(β=0.385,P<0.001)and their resilience(β=−0.114,P<0.01).Resilience partially mediated the association between perceived stigma and anxiety(β=0.020,P<0.01),depression(β=0.020,P<0.01),and PTSD(β=0.014,P<0.01)among COVID-19 survivors. Conclusion Stigma has a significant negative impact on mental health, while resilience plays a mediator role in the relationship between stigma and mental health among COVID-19 survivors.Based on our study,we suggested that when designing psychological interventions for COVID-19 survivors, consideration should be taken into account to reduce stigma and improve resilience. | Weijun Xiao Xiaoyang Liu Hao Wang Yiman Huang Zhenwei Dai Mingyu Si Jiaqi Fu Xu Chen Mengmeng Jia Zhiwei Leng Dan Cui Winnie W.S.Mak Liming Dong Xiaoyou Su | 2023 | Infectious Diseases of Poverty2023,12,2: | 0
Collagen fiber anisotropy characterization by polarized photoacoustic imaging for just-in-time quantitative evaluation of burn severity显示文摘Just-in-time burn severity assessment plays a vital role in burn treatment and care. However,it is still difficult to quantitatively and promptly evaluate burn severity by existing medical imaging methods via initial burn depth measurement since burn wounds are usually dynamically developed. As an elastic skeleton of skin, the degree of conformational changes of collagen fibers caused by overheating can reflect the burn severity in a timelier manner.Herein, the polarized photoacoustic technique(PPAT)for just-in-time quantitative evaluation of burn severity via collagen fiber anisotropy assessment is proposed.First, phantom experiments demonstrate the ability of PPAT for deep imaging in a transport mean free path and accurately quantify changes in microstructural order by thermal damage. Then, the Pearson correlation coefficient of the PPAT in assessing burn severity is shown to be up to 0.95,validated by burn skin samples. The PPAT provides a just-in-time quantitative strategy for burn severity evaluation. | ZHENHUI ZHANG WEI CHEN DANDAN CUI JIE MI GEN MU LIMING NIE SIHUA YANG YUJIAO SHI | 2023 | Photonics Research2023,11,5: | 0
