| 3 | Tissue-based metabolite profiling and qualitative comparison of two species of Achyranthes roots by use of UHPLC-QTOF MS and laser micro-dissection显示文摘Achyranthes bidentata and Achyranthes aspera are saponin and steroid rich medicinal plants, used extensively for therapeutic treatments in Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) and Ayurveda. A. bidentata is reported to be one of the rare and extensively exploited medicinal plant species that face the issue of being endangered.Finding qualitative substitute with identical phyto-constituents contributing to similar composition and pharmacological benefits will help in reducing the burden of exploitation of the natural habitats of such plants.In the present study, a comparative metabolite analysis of the whole drug and specific tissues isolated by laser micro-dissection(LMD) was carried out for both the selected species, by use of ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry(UHPLC-QTOF MS). The results of the study indicate that the cortex and the medullary ray tissues are rich in their content of steroidal and saponin constituents such as(25 S)-inokosterone-20,22-acetonide, ginsenoside Ro, bidentatoside II and achyranthoside B.Metabolite profiling of the whole tissues of both the species indicates presence of identical constituents. | 5 | Similar efficacy and safety of tenofovir in Asians and non-Asians with chronic hepatitis B显示文摘AIM:To compare the efficacy and safety of tenofovir disoproxil fumarate(TDF)in Asian and non-Asian chronic hepatitis B(CHB)patients.METHODS:The efficacy and safety of the initial 48wk of treatment with TDF was compared in a posthoc analysis of combined data from 217 Asians and299 non-Asians included in Studies 102 and 103and a post-approval,open-label trial(Study 123).Patient groups were compared according to baseline hepatitis B e antigen(HBe Ag)status and viral load.The main outcome measures included the proportion of patients who achieved a hepatitis B virus(HBV)DNA level<400 copies/m L at Week 48 of treatment.Secondary measures included:HBV DNA and alanine aminotransaminase(ALT)levels over time;proportion of patients with normal ALT levels;proportion of patients with HBe Ag loss/seroconversion and proportion of patients with hepatitis B surface antigen loss/seroconversion;changes in liver histology.Safety and tolerability were evaluated by the occurrence of adverse events(AEs),serious AEs,laboratory abnormalities,discontinuation of the study drug due to AEs,or death.The primary efficacy and safety analysis set included all patients who were randomly assigned to treatment and received at least one dose of study drug.RESULTS:At week 48,similar proportions of Asians and non-Asians reached HBV DNA<400 copies/m L(96%of Asian and 97%of non-Asian patients with HBe Ag-negative CHB and 83%of Asian and 79%of non-Asian patients with HBe Ag-positive CHB had HBV DNA)and normal ALT(78%of Asian and 81%of nonAsian patients with HBe Ag-negative CHB and 71%of Asian and 74%of non-Asian patients with HBe Agpositive CHB had normal ALT).On-treatment HBV DNA decline rates were similar between Asians and nonAsians regardless of baseline HBe Ag status and viralload.HBV DNA decline during the first four weeks was2.9 log10 copies/m L in HBe Ag-negative Asians and nonAsians,and in HBe Ag-positive non-Asians,and 3.1log10 copies/m L in HBe Ag-positive Asians.HBe Ag loss and seroconversion was achieved in 14%of Asians vs 26%and 24%,respectively,in non-Asians.Liver histology improved in 77.2%of Asians and 71.5%of non-Asians.No resistance to TDF developed.No renal safety signals were observed.CONCLUSION:TDF demonstrated similar viral suppression,normalization of ALT,improvements in liver fibrosis,and no detectable resistance in Asian and non-Asian patients regardless of baseline HBe Ag status. | Calvin Q Pan Sing Chan Huy Trinh Alan Yao Ho Bae Lillian Lou | 2015 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2015，21，18： | 4 |

| 18 | Installation and operational effects of a HVDC submarine cable in a continental shelf setting: Bass Strait, Australia显示文摘Despite the many submarine telecommunications and power cables laid world-wide there are fewer than ten published studies of their environmental effects in the refereed literature.This paper describes an investigation into the effects of laying and operating the Basslink High Voltage Direct Current(HVDC)cable and its associated metallic return cable across Bass Strait in South East Australia.Over more than 95%of its length the cable was directly laid into a wet jetted trench given the predominantly soft sediments encountered.Underwater remote video investigations found that within two years all visible evidence of the cable and trench was gone at over a third of the transects at six deep water sites(32-72 m deep).At other deep water transects the residual trench trapped drift material providing habitat for the generally sparsely distributed benthic community.Diver surveys at both of the near shore sites(<15 m deep)on the northern side of the Strait also found the cable route was undetectable after a year.On the southern side,where the cable traversed hard basalt rock near shore,it was encased in a protective cast iron half shell.Ecological studies by divers over 3.5 years demonstrated the colonization of the hard shell by similar species occupying hard substrates elsewhere on the basalt reef.Magnetic field strengths associated with the operating cable were found to be within 0.8%of those predicted from theory with strength dropping rapidly with distance from the cable.Beyond 20 m the field was indistinguishable from background. | John Sherwood Scott Chidgey Peter Crockett David Gwyther Percival Ho Simon Stewart David Strong Bob Whitely Alan Williams | 2016 | Journal of Ocean Engineering and Science2016，1，4： | 1 |
