| 2 | SEASONAL AND DIURNAL VARIATIONS OF PM_(1.0),PM_(2.5) AND PM_(10) IN THE ROADSIDE ENVIRONMENT OF HONG KONG显示文摘PM1.0 (fine particles, with diameter < 1 μm), PM2.5 (fine particles, with diameter < 2.5 μm) and PM10 (coarse particles, with diameter < 10 μm) were measured at 24-hour intervals near a high-traffic road in Hong Kong, from October 2004 to September 2005. Mass concentrations were determined for the three particle fractions, averaging for PM1.0, PM2.5 and PM10, respectively, 44.5±18.4, 55.4±25.5 and 81.3±37.7 μg?m-3. PM2.5 was 3.7 times the U.S. EPA’s annual NAAQS of 15 μg?m-3. Overall, PM1.0 accounted for 44 to 69% (average 57%) of PM10, while PM2.5 accounted for 58 to 82% (average 71%) in this study. The particulate masses showed obvious seasonal patterns with high concentrations in cold seasons and low in warm seasons, especially high concentrations of PM2.5-10 during the cold seasons. Diurnal variations of mass concentrations of PM2.5 were determined during July, showing two major peaks in the morning and afternoon rush hours. | K.F. Ho S.C. Lee S.W. | 3 | SUPERPLASTICITY AND DIFFUSION BONDING OF IN718 SUPERALLOY显示文摘The superplasticity and diffusion bonding of IN718 superalloy were studied in this article. The strain rate sensitivity index m was obtained at different temperatures and various initial strain rates using the tensile speed mutation method; m reached its maximum value 0.53 at an initial strain rate of 1×10-4s-1 at 1253K. The diffusion bonding parameters, including the bonding temperature T, pressure p, and time t, affected the mechanism of joints. When the bonded specimen with 25μm thick nickel foil interlayer was tensile at room temperature, the shear fracture of the joints with nickel foil interlayer took place at the IN718 part. Microstructure study was carried out with the bonded samples. The microstructure shows an excellent bonding at the interfaces. | 5 | EFFECTS OF HIGH-DENSITY CURRENT PULSES ON WORK HARDENING BEHAVIORS OF AUSTENITE STAINLESS STEEL IN WIRE-DRAWING DEFORMATION显示文摘The influence of high-density pulsing current on the work-hardening behavior of H0Cr17Ni6Mn3 and 1Cr18N19 stainless steels in wire-drawing deformation processes has been studied. It was found that the drawing stress and the work-hardening rate of wires were significantly reduced by applying current pulses in drawing process. The work-hardening behavior of the multi-courses drawing deformation can be well de scribed by Hollomon formula σ = κεn. With the application of current pulses in drawing deformation, the work-hardening exponents of H0Cr17Ni6MnS steel wires and 1 Cr1 8Ni9 stainless steel wires were reduced by 33% and 45%, respectively, and their work-hardening coefficients were reduced by 41% and 47%, respectively. It was also found that the work-hardening coefficient of wires was reduced with the increment of the frequency of current pulses, while the work-hardening exponents of both steels were insensitive to the pulsing frequency. | K.F.
