2Human umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cell therapy in patients with COVID-19:a phase 1 clinical trial显示文摘No effective drug treatments are available for coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19).Host-directed therapies targeting the underlying aberrant immune responses leading to pulmonary tissue damage,death,or long-term functional disability in survivors require clinical evaluation.We performed a parallel assigned controlled,non-randomized,phase 1 clinical trial to evaluate the safety of human umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells(UC-MSCs)infusions in the treatment of patients with moderate and severe COVID-19 pulmonary disease.The study enrolled 18 hospitalized patients with COVID-19(n=9 for each group).The treatment group received three cycles of intravenous infusion of UC-MSCs(3×107 cells per infusion)on days 0,3,and 6.Both groups received standard COVID-treatment regimens.Adverse events,duration of clinical symptoms,laboratory parameters,length of hospitalization,serial chest computed tomography(CT)images,the PaO2/FiO2 ratio,dynamics of cytokines,and IgG and IgM anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibodies were analyzed.No serious UC-MSCs infusion-associated adverse events were observed.Two patients receiving UC-MSCs developed transient facial flushing and fever,and one patient developed transient hypoxia at 12 h post UC-MSCs transfusion.Mechanical ventilation was required in one patient in the treatment group compared with four in the control group.All patients recovered and were discharged.Our data show that intravenous UC-MSCs infusion in patients with moderate and severe COVID-19 is safe and well tolerated.Phase 2/3 randomized,controlled,double-blinded trials with long-term follow-up are needed to evaluate the therapeutic use of UC-MSCs to reduce deaths and improve long-term treatment outcomes in patients with serious COVID-19.Fanping Meng Ruonan Xu Siyu Wang Zhe Xu Chao Zhang Yuanyuan Li Tao Yang Lei Shi Junliang Fu Tianjun Jiang Lei Huang Peng Zhao Xin Yuan Xing Fan Ji-Yuan Zhang Jinwen Song Dawei Zhang Yanmei Jiao Limin Liu Chunbao Zhou Markus Maeurer Alimuddin Zumla Ming Shi Fu-Sheng Wang 2020Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2020,5,1:16
3MECHANICS ANALYSIS ON PRECISE FORMING PROCESS OF EXTERNAL SPLINE COLD ROLLING显示文摘According to the suitable assumption, the deformation process of external spline cold rolling is analyzed. By the graphing method, the slip-line field of plastically deforming area in process of external spline cold rolling is set up. Different friction-conditions are used in different contact areas in order to realistically reflect the actual situation. The unit average pressure on contact surface of the rolling process is solved according to the stress filed theory of slip-line. And the formulae of the rolling-force and rolling-moment are established. The theoretical result is well consistent with the finite element analysis. 4Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. 5Rolling Force and Rolling Moment in Spline Cold Rolling Using Slip-line Field Method显示文摘Rolling force and rolling moment are prime process parameter of external spline cold rolling.However,the precise theoretical formulae of rolling force and rolling moment are still very fewer,and the determination of them depends on experience.In the present study,the mathematical models of rolling force and rolling moment are established based on stress field theory of slip-line.And the isotropic hardening is used to improve the yield criterion.Based on MATLAB program language environment,calculation program is developed according to mathematical models established.The rolling force and rolling moment could be predicted quickly via the calculation program,and then the reliability of the models is validated by FEM.Within the range of module of spline m=0.5-1.5 mm,pressure angle of reference circle α=30.0°-45.0°,and number of spline teeth Z=19-54,the rolling force and rolling moment in rolling process(finishing rolling is excluded) are researched by means of virtualizing orthogonal experiment design.The results of the present study indicate that:the influences of module and number of spline teeth on the maximum rolling force and rolling moment in the process are remarkable;in the case of pressure angle of reference circle is little,module of spline is great,and number of spline teeth is little,the peak value of rolling force in rolling process may appear in the midst of the process;the peak value of rolling moment in rolling process appears in the midst of the process,and then oscillator weaken to a stable value.The results of the present study may provide guidelines for the determination of power of the motor and the design of hydraulic system of special machine,and provide basis for the farther researches on the precise forming process of external spline cold rolling.ZHANG Dawei LI Yongtang FU Jianhua ZHENG Quangang 2009Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2009,22,5:9
6TOOTH CURVES AND ENTIRE CONTACT AREA IN PROCESS OF SPLINE COLD ROLLING显示文摘In spline rolling process,the contact area between roller and workpiece plays an important role in calculating rolling-force and rolling-moment.For the purpose of studying the contact area, contact state between roller and workpiece in process of spline cold rolling based upon cross rolling is analyzed.According to the suitable hypothesis,the mathematic model of roller-tooth-curve in optional position of rolling process is established.Combing the theory of conjugate curves with the theory of envelope curve,the corresponding mathematic model of workpiece-tooth-curve is established.By utilizing establishing mathematic models,the algorithm of entire contact area in rolling process is created.On the basis of the algorithm,calcuiation-prograrn is compiled under MATLAB program language environment.The calcuiation-program actualizes quantitative analysis and quantitative calculation of contact areas.Utilizing the calculation-program,the influence of parameters on contact area is analyzed,and the tendency is consistent with the manufacturing experience.In consideration of rolling-force optimization,the primary process parameters may be selected according to results of calculation.The result of the present study may provide basis for research on rolling-force and rolling-moment.ZHANG Dawei LI Yongtang FU Jianhua 2008Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2008,21,6:7
7Chemical formation and source apportionment of PM_(2.5) at an urban site at the southern foot of the Taihang mountains显示文摘The region along the Taihang Mountains in the North China Plain(NCP) is characterized by serious fine particle pollution. To clarify the formation mechanism and controlling factors, an observational study was conducted to investigate the physical and chemical properties of the fine particulate matter in Jiaozuo city, China. Mass concentrations of the water-soluble ions(WSIs) in PM_(2.5) and gaseous pollutant precursors were measured on an hourly basis from December 1, 2017, to February 27, 2018. The positive matrix factorization(PMF) method and the FLEXible PARTicle(FLEXPART) model were employed to identify the sources of PM_(2.5). The results showed that the average mass concentration of PM_(2.5) was 111 μg/m^(3) during the observation period. Among the major WSIs, sulfate, nitrate, and ammonium(SNA) constituted 62% of the total PM_(2.5) mass, and NO_(3)^(-) ranked the highest with an average contribution of 24.6%. NH_(4)^(+) was abundant in most cases in Jiaozuo. According to chemical balance analysis, SO_(2)-4, NO_(3)^(-), and Cl^(-) might be present in the form of(NH_4)_(2)SO_4, NH_4NO_3, NH_4Cl, and KCl. The liquid-phase oxidation of SO_(2) and NO_(2) was severe during the haze period. The relative humidity and pH were the key factors influencing SO_(4)^(2-) formation. We found that NO_(3)^(-) mainly stemmed from homogeneous gas-phase reactions in the daytime and originated from the hydrolysis of N_(2)O_5 in the nighttime, which was inconsistent with previous studies. 8Domesticated cynomolgus monkey embryonic stem cells allow the generation of neonatal interspecies chimeric pigs显示文摘Blastocyst complementation by pluripotent stem cell(PSC)injection is believed to be the most promising method to generate xenogeneic organs.However,ethical issues prevent the study of human chimeras in the late embryonic stage of development.Primate embryonic stem cells(ESCs),which have similar pluripotency to human ESCs,are a good model for studying interspecies chimerism and organ generation.However,whether primate ESCs can be used in xenogenous grafts remains unclear.In this study,we evaluated the chimeric ability of cynomolgus monkey(Macaca fascicularis)ESCs(cmESCs)in pigs,which are excellent hosts because of their many similarities to humans.We report an optimized culture medium that enhanced the anti-apoptotic ability of cmESCs and improved the development of chimeric embryos,in which domesticated cmESCs(D-ESCs)injected into pig blastocysts differentiated into cells of all three germ layers.In addition,we obtained two neonatal interspecies chimeras,in which we observed tissue-specific D-ESC differentiation.Taken together,the results demonstrate the capability of D-ESCs to integrate and differentiate into functional cells in a porcine model,with a chimeric ratio of 0.001-0.0001 in different neonate tissues.We believe this work will facilitate future developments in xenogeneic organogenesis,bringing us one step closer to producing tissue-specific functional cells and organs in a large animal model through interspecies blastocyst complementation.Rui Fu Dawei Yu Jilong Ren Chongyang Li Jing Wang Guihai Feng Xuepeng Wang Haifeng Wan Tianda Li Libin Wang Ying Zhang Tang Hai Wei Li Qi Zhou 2020Protein & Cell2020,11,2:4

10Colour compound lenses for a portable fluorescence microscope显示文摘In this article,we demonstrated a handheld smartphone fluorescence microscope(HSFM)that integrates dualfunctional polymer lenses with a smartphone.The HSFM consists of a smartphone,a field-portable illumination source,and a dual-functional polymer lens that performs both optical imaging and filtering.Therefore,compared with the existing smartphone fluorescence microscope,the HSFM does not need any additional optical filters.Although fluorescence imaging has traditionally played an indispensable role in biomedical and clinical applications due to its high specificity and sensitivity for detecting cells,proteins,DNAs/RNAs,etc.,the bulky elements of conventional fluorescence microscopes make them inconvenient for use in point-of-care diagnosis.The HSFM demonstrated in this article solves this problem by providing a multifunctional,miniature,small-form-factor fluorescence module.This multifunctional fluorescence module can be seamlessly attached to any smartphone camera for both bright-field and fluorescence imaging at cellular-scale resolutions without the use of additional bulky lenses/filters;in fact,the HSFM achieves magnification and light filtration using a single lens.Cell and tissue observation,cell counting,plasmid transfection evaluation,and superoxide production analysis were performed using this device.Notably,this lens system has the unique capability of functioning with numerous smartphones,irrespective of the smartphone model and the camera technology housed within each device.As such,this HSFM has the potential to pave the way for realtime point-of-care diagnosis and opens up countless possibilities for personalized medicine.Bo Dai Ziao Jiao Lulu Zheng Hunter Bachman Yongfeng Fu Xinjun Wan Yule Zhang Yu Huang Xiaodian Han Chenglong Zhao Tony Jun Huang Songlin Zhuang Dawei Zhang 2019Light(Science & Applications)2019,8,1:3
11High-performance polarization management devices based on thin-film lithium niobate显示文摘High-speed polarization management is highly desirable for many applications,such as remote sensing,telecommunication,and medical diagnosis.However,most of the approaches for polarization management rely on bulky optical components that are slow to respond,cumbersome to use,and sometimes with high drive voltages.Here,we overcome these limitations by harnessing photonic integrated circuits based on thin-film lithium niobate platform.We successfully realize a portfolio of thin-film lithium niobate devices for essential polarization management functionalities,including arbitrary polarization generation,fast polarization measurement,polarization scrambling,and automatic polarization control.The present devices feature ultra-fast control speeds,low drive voltages,low optical losses and compact footprints.Using these devices,we achieve high fidelity polarization generation with a polarization extinction ratio up to 41.9 dB and fast polarization scrambling with a scrambling rate up to 65 Mrad s−1,both of which are best results in integrated optics.We also demonstrate the endless polarization state tracking operation in our devices.The demonstrated devices unlock a drastically new level of performance and scales in polarization management devices,leading to a paradigm shift in polarization management.Zhongjin Lin Yanmei Lin Hao Li Mengyue Xu Mingbo He Wei Ke Heyun Tan Ya Han Zhaohui Li Dawei Wang X.Steve Yao Songnian Fu Siyuan Yu Xinlun Cai 2022Light(Science & Applications)2022,11,5:3
12Co_(78)Si_(8)B_(14)metallic glass:A highly efficient and ultra-sustainable Fenton-like catalyst in degrading wastewater under universal pH conditions显示文摘Overcoming the pH limitation and increasing the catalyst reusability remain pressing demands for metal-lic glass(MG)in wastewater remediation.Herein,Co_(78)Si_(8)B_(14)MG ribbons are used to degrade dye wastew-ater by activating hydrogen peroxide(H_(2)O_(2))as Fenton-like catalysts.The Co-based MG catalysts exhibit high degradation efficiency under both acidic and alkaline conditions,and the kinetic reaction rate at pH 10(0.176 min^(−1)) and pH 4(0.089 min^(−1)) is 5.9 and 1.2 times higher than that of the extensively studied Fe-based MG catalysts,respectively.Impressively,the Co-based MG catalysts can be reused up to 20-60 times at universal pH conditions,demonstrating fairly good reusability.The newly discovered Co-based MG catalysts do not follow the classical Fenton reactions with H_(2)O^(2) the way Fe-based MGs do.In an acid environment,hydroxyl radicals play a dominant role in the degradation,while in an alkaline environ-ment,the effect of hydroxyl radicals is weakened,and Co^(3+) ions exert a relatively major function on the degradation.The excellent performance in catalytic activity and reusability at universal pH conditions of the Co-based MGs will inspire the development of MGs in wastewater treatment.Xindong Qin Jiliang Xu Zhengwang Zhu Zhengkun Li Dawei Fang Huameng Fu Shiming Zhang Haifeng Zhang 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,18:2
13Prediction of stable BC_(3)N_(2)monolayer from first-principles calculations:Stoichiometry,crystal structure,electronic and adsorption properties显示文摘In this paper,a novel BC_(3)N_(2)monolayer has been found with a graphene-like structure using the developed particle swarm optimization algorithm in combination with ab initio calculations.The predicted structure meets the thermodynamical,dynamical,and mechanical stability requirements.Interestingly,the BC_(3)N_(2)plane shows a metallic character.Importantly,BC_(3)N_(2)has an in-plane stiffness comparable to that of graphene.We have also investigated the adsorption characteristics of CO_(2)on pristine monolayer and Mo functionalized monolayer using density functional theory.Subsequently,electronic structures of the interacting systems(CO_(2)molecule and substrates)have been preliminarily explored.The results show that Mo/BC_(3)N_(2)has a stronger adsorption capacity towards CO_(2)comparing with the pristine one,which can provide a reference for the further study of the CO_(2)reduction mechanism on the transition metal-functionalized surface as well as the new catalyst’s design.Jiahui Yu Chaozheng He Chunying Pu Ling Fu Dawei Zhou Kun Xie Jinrong Huo Chenxu Zhao Lingmin Yu 2021Chinese Chemical Letters2021,32,10:2

15Overview to the Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope (Insight-HXMT) Satellite显示文摘As China’s first X-ray astronomical satellite, the Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope (HXMT), which was dubbed as Insight-HXMT after the launch on June 15, 2017, is a wide-band(1-250 ke V) slat-collimator-based X-ray astronomy satellite with the capability of all-sky monitoring in 0.2-3 Me V. 16Laser-driven plasma collider for nuclear studies显示文摘A novel method of initiating nuclear fusion reactions in a full plasma environment was suggested, and a proof-of-concept experiment was carried out with the D t D ! n t3 He reaction. In this new approach, two plasma jets generated by high-intensity lasers collide headon-head. The center-of-mass energy of the nuclei increases accordingly, and therefore, reaction products can be significantly enhanced, especially in the sub-Coulomb barrier ranges. As a result of the fusion reaction, up to 7:6 105 neutrons had been observed. 18DEMC: A Deep Dual-Encoder Network for Denoising Monte Carlo Rendering显示文摘In this paper, we present DEMC, a deep dual-encoder network to remove Monte Carlo noise efficiently while preserving details. Denoising Monte Carlo rendering is different from natural image denoising since inexpensive by-products (feature buffers) can be extracted in the rendering stage. Most of them are noise-free and can provide sufficient details for image reconstruction. However, these feature buffers also contain redundant information. Hence, the main challenge of this topic is how to extract useful information and reconstruct clean images. To address this problem, we propose a novel network structure, dual-encoder network with a feature fusion sub-network, to fuse feature buffers firstly, then encode the fused feature buffers and a noisy image simultaneously, and finally reconstruct a clean image by a decoder network.
