| 3 | Household air pollution and lung cancer in China:a review of studies in Xuanwei显示文摘Over half of the world's population is exposed to household air pollution from the burning of solid fuels at home. Household air pollution from solid fuel use is a leading risk factor for global disease and remains a major public health problem, especially in low- and mid-income countries. This is a particularly serious problem in China, where many people in rural areas still use coal for household heating and cooking. This review focuses on several decades of research carried out in Xuanwei County, Yunnan Province, where household coal use is a major source of household air pollution and where studies have linked household air pollution exposure to high rates of lung cancer. We conducted a series of case-control and cohort studies in Xuanwei to characterize the lung cancer risk in this population and the factors associated with it. We found lung cancer risk to vary substantially between different coal types, with a higher risk associated with smoky(i.e., bituminous) coal use compared to smokeless(i.e., anthracite) coal use. The installation of a chimney in homes resulted in a substantial reduction in lung cancer incidence and mortality. | 4 | Management of borderline and locally advanced pancreatic cancer:Where do we stand?显示文摘Many patients with pancreas cancer present with locally advanced pancreatic cancer(LAPC).The principle tools used for diagnosis and staging of LAPC include endoscopic ultrasound,axial imaging with computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging,and diagnostic laparoscopy.The definition of resectability has historically been vague,as there is considerable debate and controversy as to the definition of LAPC.For the patient with LAPC,there is some level of involvement of the surrounding vascular structures,which include the superior mesenteric artery,celiac axis,hepatic artery,superior mesenteric vein,or portal vein.When feasible,most surgeons would recommend possible surgical resection for patients with borderline LAPC,with the goal of an R0 resection.For initially unresectable LAPC,neoadjuvant should be strongly considered.Specifically,these patients should be offered neoadjuvant therapy,and the tumor should be assessed for possible response and eventual resection.The efficacy of neoadjuvant therapy with this approach as a bridge to potential curative resection is broad,ranging from 3%-79%.The different modalities of neoadjuvant therapy include sin-gle or multi-agent chemotherapy combined with radiation,chemotherapy alone,and chemotherapy followed by chemotherapy with radiation.This review focuses on patients with LAPC and addresses recent advances and controversies in the field. | Jin He Andrew J Page Matthew Weiss Christopher L Wolfgang Joseph M Herman Timothy M Pawlik | 2014 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,9: | 11 |
| 5 | CsPrx25,a class III peroxidase in Citrus sinensis,confers resistance to citrus bacterial canker through the maintenance of ROS homeostasis and cell wall lignification显示文摘Citrus bacterial canker(CBC)results from Xanthomonas citri subsp.citri(Xcc)infection and poses a grave threat to citrus production.Class III peroxidases(CIII Prxs)are key proteins to the environmental adaptation of citrus plants to a range of exogenous pathogens,but the role of CIII Prxs during plant resistance to CBC is poorly defined.Herein,we explored the role of CsPrx25 and its contribution to plant defenses in molecular detail.Based on the expression analysis,CsPrx25 was identified as an apoplast-localized protein that is differentially regulated by Xcc infection,salicylic acid,and methyl jasmone acid in the CBC-susceptible variety Wanjincheng(C.sinensis)and the CBC-resistant variety Calamondin(C.madurensis).Transgenic Wanjincheng plants overexpressing CsPrx25 were generated,and these transgenic plants exhibited significantly increased CBC resistance compared with the WT plants.In addition,the CsPrx25-overexpressing plants displayed altered reactive oxygen species(ROS)homeostasis accompanied by enhanced H_(2)O_(2) levels,which led to stronger hypersensitivity responses during Xcc infection.Moreover,the overexpression of CsPrx25 enhanced lignification as an apoplastic barrier for Xcc infection.Taken together,the results highlight how CsPrx25-mediated ROS homeostasis reconstruction and cell wall lignification can enhance the resistance of sweet orange to CBC. | Qiang Li Xiujuan Qin Jingjing Qi Wanfu Dou Christophe Dunand Shanchun Chen Yongrui He | 2020 | Horticulture Research2020,7,1: | 5 |

| 7 | 美式整脊手法结合脊柱脉冲诊疗仪治疗小儿寰枢椎旋转半脱位显示文摘目的探讨美式整脊手法(Chiropractic)配合脊柱脉冲诊疗仪治疗小儿寰枢椎旋转半脱位的有效性。方法回顾性分析2004年7月至2014年8月,于我院门诊骨科就诊的37例寰枢椎旋转半脱位患儿,其中男27例,女10例,年龄3.5-12岁,平均7.9岁。发病前有明确上呼吸道感染病史的患儿占21.6%(8/37),有明确头颈部外伤史的占35.1%(13/37)。就诊时间为发病后当天至3个月不等。所有患儿均接受颈部活动范围检查,部分(年龄较大的患儿)接受视觉模拟评分(visual analogue scale,VAS)测量;同时接受颈椎正、侧、张口位X线检查,部分患儿加做寰枢椎螺旋CT扫描及图像三维重建检查。三维CT检查重点测量寰枢椎在纵轴和矢状轴上旋转畸形的角度。所有患儿均接受本研究第一作者给予的Chiropractic治疗和脊柱脉冲诊疗仪(Sigma公司,Neuromechinical Innovation公司,美国)的治疗。患儿在伤后2-3天内连续接受1次/天的治疗,随后改为2-3次/周,并佩戴颈托2周。治疗结束后给予影像学复查,治疗前后的VAS值进行统计学比较。结果治疗后多数患儿的疼痛症状获得明显改善。本组11例在治疗前后接受VAS测试,治疗前VAS评分7.2-10分,平均8.68分,治疗后VAS评分0-3分,平均1.75分,差异有统计学意义(P〈0.01)。本组在治疗后接受影像学复查的病例共13例,但接受影像学复查的时间相差甚远(1.5小时至7年)。绝大多数患者影像学有明显好转,仅2例在复查X线片时对位不佳,尚需继续治疗和观察。结论Chiropractic是治疗小儿寰枢椎旋转半脱位有效方法之一,脊柱脉冲诊疗仪对小儿而言更具有依从性和安全性,两者配合使用可以增加疗效。三维螺旋CT能对寰枢椎在纵轴和矢状轴上旋转畸形的角度进行精确的测量,并对治疗有指导意义。 | 于红 吴闻文 侯树勋 周中华 何建军 王强 Shawn He Christopher Colloca | 2016 | 中国骨与关节杂志2016,5,8: | 4 |

| 10 | Central role of myeloid MCPIP1 in protecting against LPSinduced inflammation and lung injury显示文摘Although systemic inflammatory responses attributable to infection may lead to significant lung injury,the precise molecular mechanisms leading to lung damage are poorly understood and therapeutic options remain limited.Here,we show that myeloid monocyte chemotactic protein-inducible protein 1(MCPIP1)plays a central role in protecting against LPS-induced inflammation and lung injury.Myeloid-specific MCPIP1 knockout mice developed spontaneous inflammatory syndromes,but at a late age compared to global MCPIP1 knockout mice.Moreover,mice with a myeloid-specific deletion of MCPIP1 were extremely sensitive to LPS-induced lung injury due to overproduction of proinflammatory cytokines and chemokines.We identified C/EBPβand C/EBPδ,two critical transcriptional factors that drive cytokine production and lung injury,as targets of MCPIP1 RNase.LPS administration caused MCPIP1 protein degradation in the lungs.Pharmacological inhibition of MALT1,a paracaspase that cleaves MCPIP1,by MI-2 selectively increased the MCPIP1 protein levels in macrophages and in the lungs.Meanwhile,administration of MI-2 protected mice from LPS-induced inflammation,lung injury and death.Collectively,these results indicate that myeloid MCPIP1 is central in controlling LPS-induced inflammation and lung injury.Pharmacological inhibition of MALT1 protease activity may be a good strategy to treat inflammatory diseases by enhancing MCPIP1 expression in myeloid cells. | Yong Li Xuan Huang Shengping Huang Hui He Tianhua Lei Fatma Saaoud Xiao-Qiang Yu Ari Melnick Anil Kumar Christopher J Papasian Daping Fan Mingui Fu | 2017 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2017,2,1: | 2 |

| 13 | Cooperation in an asymmetric volunteer's dilemma game with relatedness显示文摘What motivates some members of a social group to voluntarily incur costs in order to provide for the common good? This question lies at the heart of theoretical and empirical studies of cooperative behavior. This is also the question that underlies the classic volunteer's dilemma model, which has been previously explored in scenarios where group members are related or interact asym- metrically. Here we present a model that combines asymmetry and relatedness, showing that the probability of volunteerism in such systems depends closely on both the degree of asymmetry and level of relatedness between interacting individuals. As has been shown in previous volunteer's dilemma models, the payoff ratio and overall group size also influence the probability of volunteerism. The probability of volunteerism decreases with increasing group size or decreasing cost-to-benefit ratio of the coplayers; in the presence of asymmetrical interactions, subordinate players were more likely to offer public goods than the dominant player.
