| 1 | Vacancy formation enthalpies of high-entropy FeCoCrNi alloy via first-principles calculations and possible implications to its superior radiation tolerance显示文摘Because atoms in high-entropy alloys(HEAs) coordinate in very different and distorted local environments in the lattice sites, even for the same type of constituent, their point defects could highly vary.Therefore, theoretical determination of the thermodynamic quantities(i.e., defect formation enthalpies)of various point defects is rather challenging because each corresponding thermodynamic quantity of all involve constituents is not unique. The knowledge of these thermodynamic quantities is prerequisite for designing novel HEAs and understanding the mechanical and physical behaviors of HEAs. However,to date there has not been a good method to theoretically derive the defect formation enthalpies of HEAs. Here, using first-principles calculations within the density functional theory(DFT) in combination of special quasi-random structure models(SQSs), we have developed a general method to derive corresponding formation enthalpies of point defects in HEAs, using vacancy formation enthalpies of a four-component equiatomic fcc-type FeCoCrNi HEA as prototypical and benchmark examples. In difference from traditional ordered alloys, the vacancy formation enthalpies of FeCoCrNi HEA vary in a highly wide range from 0.72 to 2.89 eV for Fe, 0.88–2.90 eV for Co, 0.78–3.09 eV for Cr, and 0.91–2.95 eV for Ni due to high-level site-to-site lattice distortions and compositional complexities. On average, the vacancy formation enthalpies of 1.58 eV for Fe, 1.61 eV for Cr, 1.70 eV for Co and 1.89 eV for Ni are all larger than that(1.41 eV) of pure fcc nickel. This fact implies that the vacancies are much more difficult to be created than in nickel, indicating a reasonable agreement with the recent experimental observation that FeCoCrNi exhibits two orders of amplitudes enhancement of radiation tolerance with the suppression of void formation at elevated temperatures than in pure nickel. | Weiliang Chen Xueyong Ding Yuchao Feng Xiongjun Liu Kui Liu Z.P. | 2 | Characterization of high-pressure die-cast hypereutectic Al-Si alloys based on microstructural distribution and fracture morphology显示文摘The fracture behavior of high-pressure die-cast hypereutectic(HPDC) Al-Si alloys was investigated using a high-resolution laboratory CT and synchrotron X-ray tomography with a particular focus on the influence of HPDC microstructure. Results showed that microstructure of the alloy was mainly comprised of primary silicon particles(PSPs), Al dendrites, Cu-rich phases and pores. Most of the coarse PSPs, Cu-rich phases and pores were located in the center of the specimen. The rapid solidification of HPDC led to a heterogeneous microstructural feature. Elemental Cu was enriched in the frontiers of solid-liquid interface, causing the formation of large size dendritic arms. The pores were formed in the interdendrites which endured high stress intensity under high applied stress. Microcracks were originated from pores and further connected Cu-rich phases causing intergranular fracture. PSPs worked as obstacles causing piling-up dislocations in the phase interface. In the regions where large size of PSPs enriched in, PSPs ruptured rather than debonded from matrix, indicating transgranular fractures of PSPs. | 3 | Template-free Fabrication and Luminescent Characterization of Highly Uniform and Monodisperse Y_2O_2S:Sm^(3+) Hollow Submicrospheres显示文摘Well dispersed and homogeneous Y2O2S:Sm3+ hollow submicrospheres were successfully achieved by a templatefree solvothermal method combining with a postcalcining process.The crystalstructure and particle morphology were investigated by the X-ray diffraction(XRD),Fourier transform infrared(FT-IR) spectra,scanning and transmission electron microscopy(SEM and TEM),respectively.A possible growth mechanism was proposed to reveal the formation process.Luminescence properties of the Y2O2S:Sm3+ long-lasting phosphor were analyzed by measuring the excitation spectra,emission spectra,afterglow decay curve and thermoluminescence curve.The excitation spectra indicated that the phosphor could be excited effectively by the ultraviolet-light emitting diode(UV-LED) or blue LED,and the emission spectra showed that the phosphor could emit red light from 600 to 650 nm. | S.Q. | 4 | First-principles Calculation Assisted Thermodynamic Modeling of Ti-Co-Cu Ternary System显示文摘Thermodynamic assessment of Ti-Co-Cu ternary system has been carried out by combining first-principle calculation and CALPHAD method. Firstly, formation enthalpies of stable and hypothesized compounds were calculated by first-principles method. Then, based on reported experimental information, a thermodynamic description of the Ti-Co-Cu ternary system was performed. Solution phases were treated as substitutional solutions of which excess Gibbs energies were formulated by Redlich-Kister polynomial, and the intermediate phases were described with sublattice models. All measured isothermal sections were reasonably reproduced. | 7 | 减少卵子老化对于补救性卵母细胞单精子显微注射结局的影响显示文摘Objective: To evaluate the results of a novel protocol that allows to rescue IVF unfertilized oocytes by intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI).Design: Prospective clinical trial.Setting: Private reproductive medical center.Patient(s): Thirty patients undergoing IVF.Intervention(s): Controlled ovarian stimulation (COS), conventional IVF, rescue ICSI, embryo culture, and embryo transfer.Main Outcome Measure(s): Identification of unfertilized IVF oocytes 6 hours after insemination and fertilization, and developmental rates of those oocytes after rescue microinjection, as well implantation and pregnancy rates (PR).Result(s): All oocytes (392) from 30 patients were inseminated with standard IVF 3 hours after ovum pick- up.Polar body (PB) status was checked at decumulation and rechecked 3 hours later.Eighty- two oocytes were fertilized after IVF alone and 184 nonactivated oocytes (failed fertilization) were rescue microinjected and 166 of them fertilized (20 patients).Cleavage stage on day 2 was significantly more advanced and embryo grade was higher after standard IVF fertilization than after rescue ICSI.Eight of the 30 embryos transferred were implanted in the IVF- only patients (27% )- and 8 of 68 embryos in the rescue ICSI patients (12% ).Conclusion(s): Rescue ICSI of unfertilized IVF oocytes 6 hours after insemination (9 hours after egg retrieval) can provide normal fertilization, embryo development, and pregnancy; however, corresponding outcome parameters tend to be impaired in comparison to the standard IVF fertilization results. | Nagy Z.P.
