1CORROSION MONITORING OF LY12 IN SODIUM CHLORIDE SOLUTION WITH ELECTROCHEMICAL NOISE TECHNIQUE显示文摘Spontaneous electrochemical noise (EN) can be a rich source of information concerning the processes simultaneously occurring on a corroding interface. But the noise signal is often difficult to be analyzed due to the complicated nature of the specific systems being investigated. In this paper the potential noise fluctuations during the bee corrosion of commercial aluminum alloy LY12 in sodium chloride solution was recorded and analyzed with different techniques. The typical results showed that the fractal dimension (Dn) obtained from spectral power density (SPD) is mainly directly proportional to the intensity of pitting corrosion and to the value of pitting parameter (SE) derived hem dimensional analysis, while the fractal dimension (DE) obtained from EIS is mainly related to the uniform corrosion.J.Q. 2Stress Corrosion Cracking of X80 Pipeline Steel in Near-Neutral pH Environment under Constant Load Tests with and without Preload显示文摘Constant load tests in NS4 solution purged with N2-5%CO2 gas mixture were conducted on American Petroleum Institute (API) X80 pipeline steel applied in the 2nd West-East Gas Pipeline project with and without preload. The results show that cracks could initiate and propagate in X80 pipeline steel in near-neutral pH environment under a constant load condition. The life of crack initiation and propagation increased with decreasing applied stress. Preload did not change its corrosion behavior obviously. 3ELECTROCHEMICAL NOISE ANALYSIS OF PURE ALUMINUM IN SODIUM CHLORIDE SOLUTION WITH WAVELET TRANSFORM TECHNIQUE显示文摘Wavelet transforms (WT) are proposed as an alternative tool to overcome the limitations of Fourier transforms (FFT) in the analysis of electrochemical noise (EN) data. The most relevant feature of this method of analysis is its capability of decomposing electrochemical noise records into different sets of wavelet coefficients, which contain information about the time scale characteristic of the associated corrosion event. In this context, the potential noise fluctuations during the free corrosion of pure aluminum in sodium chloride solution was recorded and analyzed with wavelet transform technique. The typical results showed that the EN signal is composed of distinct type of events, which can be classified according to their scales, i.e. their time constants. 4EFFECT OF CHROMIUM AND BORON ON ENVIRONMENTAL EMBRITTLEMENT OF FORGED Fe_3Al显示文摘The effects of addition of chromium or boron on room temperature tensile properties,fracture behavior and susceptibility to test environments (air vs. vacuuwi of forged Fe3Al have been investigated. The results indicated that both chromium and boron result in increasing room temperuture ductility and fracture strength of the Fe3Al alloy whether tested in air or in vacuum. The susceptibility to test envimnment was described with the embrittlement index I: I=(δv-δA)/δv. The embrittlement indexes, for Fe-30Al, Fe-30Al-4Cr and Fe-30Al-0. 13B (at. %), are 24%, 37% and 29%,respectively. Scanning electron microscope examination of fracture surface revealed that the fracture mode of the three alloys remains unchanged, and all of them exhibited a transgranular cleavage fracture mode when tested in vacuum or air.J.Q. 53-D FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS OF THE EFFECT OF WELDING RESIDUAL STRESS ON HYDROGEN DIFFUSION IN HYDROGEN CONTAINED ENVIRONMENT显示文摘The hydrogen distribution of 16MnR steel weldment in hydrogen contained environment was calculated using the finite element method (FEM). The effect of welding residual stress on hydrogen diffusion has been discussed using a 3-D sequential coupling finite element analysis procedure complied by Abaqus code. The hydrogen diffusion coefficient in weld metal, the heat affected zone (HAZ), and the base metal of the 16MnR steel weldment were measured using the electrochemical permeation technique. The hydrogen diffusion without the effect of stress was also calculated and compared. Owing to the existence of welding residual stress, the hydrogen concentration was obviously increased and the hydrogen would diffuse and accumulate in the higher stress region.W.C. Jiang J.M. 8THE ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELD CALCULATION AND ANALYSIS OF LEVITATION MELTING WITH COLD CRUCIBLE显示文摘In this paper, using the quasi-3D coupled current method, the influences of structure of cold crucible, the power frequency, the electricity property of melt, the coil position and current on the electromagnetic field (EMF) and the levitation characteristics in the melting processes are analyzed. It is shown that in the processes of levitation melting with cold crucible, the power frequency and cold crucible structure are the decisive factors for the ability of magnetic flux penetrating into cold crucible. The magnetic flux density in cold crucible is reduced as the increasing of power frequency, and this tendency becomes stronger when the power frequency is higher than 100kHz. The segmented structure of cold crucible can reduce the induction eddy in itself effectively, and the higher the power frequency is, the better the result is. So, a cold crucible can be segmented into 16-20 sectors for high frequency electromagnetic field and/or 8-12 sectors for lower frequency one. 11EVOLUTION OF THE ELECTROCHEMICAL CHARACTERISTICS DURING PITTING CORROSION OF PURE ALUMINUM IN SODIUM CHLORIDE SOLUTION显示文摘The corrosion behavior of pure aluminum in neutral 3.0% (mass fraction) sodium chloride (NaCl) solution has been studied using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) measurement in conjunction with the scanning electron microscopy (SEM) technique. EIS information on the evolution of pitting corrosion over a period of 15 days has been obtained and analyzed with equivalent circuit technique. The results shown that, during the ensemble constant immersion time, two time constants involved, the high frequency one originated from the protective layer on the corroding surface while the low frequency one from the diffusion process or the corrosion reaction and so on. And there existed a period for oxide film to growth and thickening prior to the commencement of the attacking of chloride ions to the substrate. Meanwhile, good relationship between EIS and the material corrosion type/ severity has been obtained, which has been interpreted according to the characteristics of corrosion process such as auto acceleration of pitting corrosion and the protection of local anodic reaction to the area around them.Z. 12PREPARATION OF HIGH THERMAL EXPANSION COEFFICIENT PORCELAINS FUSED TO METALS显示文摘Usually the thermal expansion coefficients (TEC) of metals are higher than that of porcelains. In order to match the TECs in the case of coating porcelains on metals, high TEC porcelains are needed. In this research, the high TEC phase leucite(KAlSi2 O6) in the high TEC porcelain was prepared by sol-gel method. The crystal size of leucite made by sol-gel is about 77nm through controlling the process parameters. The process from xerogel to leucite was investigated by means of DSC (differential scanning calorimetry), TG (thermogravimetry), XRD ( X-ray diffraction) and IR(infrared absorption spectrum). Leucite had been detected after the gel was treated at 900°C, this formation temperature is about 250°C lower than that of melting method.The porcelain made from 50% of the leucite powder and 50%o of low fused temperature frit has an average TEC of 19.2× 10-6/° C from room temperature to 450°C, which is much higher than the common porcelains.J.P. 13EIS STUDY ON ZINC RICH PAINTS IN 3.5% NaCl SOLUTION BY DOUBLE-CELL TEST显示文摘This paper discussed the possibility of obtaining electrochemical impedance spec-troscopy (EIS) responses of zinc rich paints (ZRP) using serial double-cell (SDC). The influence of counter electrode was outlined. An equivalent circuit (EC) for the double-cell was then discussed. The relationship between EC, the time constant, the parameters in EC of SDC and those of two single cells was also discussed.
