1Genetic and biological characteristics of the globally circulating H5N8 avian influenza viruses and the protective efficacy offered by the poultry vaccine currently used in China显示文摘The H5N8 avian influenza viruses have been widely circulating in wild birds and are responsible for the loss of over 33 million domestic poultry in Europe, Russia, Middle East, and Asia since January 2020. To monitor the invasion and spread of the H5N8 virus in China, we performed active surveillance by analyzing 317 wild bird samples and swab samples collected from 41,172 poultry all over the country. We isolated 22 H5N8 viruses from wild birds and 14 H5N8 viruses from waterfowls. Genetic analysis indicated that the 36 viruses formed two different genotypes: one genotype viruses were widely detected from different wild birds and domestic waterfowls;the other genotype was isolated from a whopper swan. We further revealed the origin and spatiotemporal spread of these two distinct H5N8 virus genotypes in 2020 and 2021. Animal studies indicated that the H5N8 isolates are highly pathogenic to chickens, mildly pathogenic in ducks, but have distinct pathotypes in mice. Moreover, we found that vaccinated poultry in China could be completely protected against H5N8 virus challenge. 2Thermodynamic modeling and phase diagram prediction of salt lake brine systems.Ⅰ. Aqueous Mg^2+–Ca^2+–Cl^- binary and ternary systems显示文摘Salt lake brine is a complex salt-water system under natural environment.Although many models can express the thermodynamic properties and phase equilibrium of electrolyte aqueous solution,the multi-temperature characteristics and predictability are still the goals of model development.In this study,a comprehensive thermodynamic model system is re-established based on the eNRTL model and some improvements:(1) new expression of long-range electrostatic term with symmetrical reference state is proposed to handle the electrolyte solution covering entire concentration range;(2) the temperature dependence of the binary interaction parameters is formulated with a Gibbs Helmholtz expression containing three temperature coefficients,the liquid parameters,which associated with Gibbs energy,enthalpy,and heat capacity contribution;and(3) liquid parameters and solid species data are regressed from properties and solubility data at full temperature range.Together the activity coefficient model,property models and parameters of liquid and solid offer a comprehensive thermodynamic model system for the typical bittern of MgCl2-CaCl2-H2 O binary and ternary systems,and it shows excellent agreement with the literature data for the ternary and binary systems.The successful prediction of complete phase diagram of ternary system shows that the model has the ability to deal with high concentration and high non-idealitv system,and the ability to extrapolate the temperature.Huan Zhou Xiaolong Gu Yaping Dai Jingjing Tang Jian Guo Guangbi Li Xiaoqin Bai 2020Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2020,28,9:9
3Tolerance to low phosphorus in rice varieties is conferred by regulation of root growth显示文摘Phosphorus use efficiency(PUE)can be improved through cultivation techniques and breeding.However,little is known about rice(Oryza sativa L.)agronomic and physiological traits associated with high PUE.We characterized the agronomic and physiological traits of rice varieties with different tolerances to low phosphorus in nutrient solution.Two varieties with strong tolerance to low phosphorus(STVs)and two with weak tolerance(WTVs)were grown at normal(NP,control)and low phosphorus(LP,1/20 of NP)concentrations.Plants grown at LP produced significantly lower grain yield than those grown at NP.WTVs yields were lower than STVs yields.Compared to NP,LP significantly increased phosphorus translocation efficiency(PTE),internal phosphorus efficiency(IPE)and phosphorus harvest index(PHI).Under the LP condition,PTE and IPE were higher for STVs than for WTVs.LP also reduced tiller number,shoot biomass,leaf area index(LAI),leaf photosynthetic rate,and mean root diameter of both kinds of varieties at the main growth stages,but to a lower extent in STVs.LP significantly increased the number of productive tillers,root biomass,root-shoot ratio,root bleeding rate,and root acid phosphatase(RAP)activity.Total root length,root oxidation activity(ROA),and root total and active absorbing surface areas for STVs were significantly increased under LP,whereas the opposite responses were observed for WTVs.Total root length,ROA,root bleeding rate,root active absorbing surface area,and RAP activity were positively and significantly correlated with grain yield,PTE,and IPE.These results suggest that the tolerance of rice varieties to a low-phosphorus growth condition is closely associated with root growth with higher biomass and activity.Yaping Deng Chuanbao Men Shengfeng Qiao Wenjie Wang Junfei Gu Lijun Liu Zujian Zhang Hao Zhang Zhiqin Wang Jianchang Yang 2020The Crop Journal2020,8,4:8
4Synthesis of MoX2 (X =Se or S) monolayers with high-concentration 1T'phase on 4H/fcc-Au nanorods for hydrogen evolution显示文摘Controlled synthesis of transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD) monolayers with unusual crystal phases has attracted increasing attention due to their promising applications in electrocatalysis.However,the facile and large-scale preparation of TMD monolayers with high-concentration unusual crystal phase still remains a challenge.Herein,we report the synthesis of MoX2 (X =Se or S) monolayers with high-concentration semimetallic 1T'phase by using the 4H/face-centered cubic (fcc)-Au nanorod as template to form the 4H/fcc-Au@MoX2 nanocomposite.The concentrations of 1T'phase in the prepared MoSe2 and MoS2 monolayers are up to 86% and 81%,respectively.As a proof-of-concept application,the obtained Au@MoS2 nanocomposite is used for the electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) in acid medium,exhibiting excellent performance with a low overpotential of 178 mV at the current density of 10 mNcm^2,a small Tafel slope of 43.3 mV/dec,and excellent HER stability.This work paves a way for direct synthesis of TMD monolayers with high-concentration of unusual crystal phase for the electrocatalytic application.Zhengqing Liu Xiao Zhang Yue Gong Qipeng Lu Zhicheng Zhang Hongfei Cheng Qinglang Ma Junze Chen Meiting Zhao Bo Chen Ye Chen Xue-Jun Wu Pengfei Yin Lin Gu Yaping Du Hua Zhang 2019Nano Research2019,12,6:3
5Toxicity of manufactured nanomaterials显示文摘Manufactured nanomaterials with unique properties have been extensively applied in various indus-trial,agricultural or medical fields.However,some of the properties have been identified to be closely related to nanomaterial toxicity.The'nano-paradox'has aroused concerns over the use and develop-ment of nanotechnology,which makes it difficult for regulatory agencies to regulate nanomaterials.The key to fulfilling proper nanomaterial regulation lies in the adequate understanding of the impact of nanomaterial properties on nano-bio interactions.To this end,we start the present work with a brief intro-duction to nano-bio interactions at different levels.Based on that,how key toxicity-associated properties of manufactured nanomaterials(i.e.,size,shape,chemical composition,surface properties,biocorona formation,agglomeration and/or aggregation state,and biodegradability)impact their toxicokinetics,cel-lular uptake,trafficking and responses,and toxicity mechanisms is deeply explored.Moreover,advanced analytical methods for studying nano-bio interactions are introduced.Furthermore,the current reg-ulatory and legislative frameworks for nanomaterial-containing products in different regions and/or countries are presented.Finally,we propose several challenges facing the nanotoxicology field and their possible solutions to shed light on the safety evaluation of nanomaterials.Yaping Liu Shuang Zhu Zhanjun Gu Chunying Chen Yuliang Zhao 2022Particuology2022,20,10:3
6Amorphization activated FeB_(2) porous nanosheets enable efficient electrocatalytic N_(2) fixation显示文摘Designing active,robust and cost-effective catalysts for the nitrogen reduction reaction(NRR) is of paramount significance for sustainable electrochemical NH3 synthesis.Transition-metal diborides(TMB_2)have been recently theoretically predicted to be a new class of potential NRR catalysts,but direct experimental evidence is still lacking.Herein,we present the first experimental demonstration that amorphous FeB_2 porous nanosheets(a-FeB_2 PNSs) could be a highly efficient NRR catalyst,which exhibited an NH3 yield of 39.8 μg h^(-1) mg^(-1)(-0.3 V) and a Faradaic efficiency of 16.7%(-0.2 V),significantly outperforming their crystalline counterpart and most of existing NRR catalysts.First-principle calculations unveiled that the amorphization could induce the upraised d-band center of a-FeB_2 to boost d-2π~* coupling between the active Fe site and ~*N_2 H intermediate,resulting in enhanced ~*N_2 H stabilization and reduced reaction barrier.Out study may facilitate the development and understanding of earth-abundant TMB_2-based catalysts for electrocatalytic N_2 fixation.Ke Chu Weicong Gu Qingqing Li Yaping Liu Ye Tian Wuming Liu 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,2:2

8Pollen-like self-supported FeIr alloy for improved hydrogen evolution reaction in acid electrolyte显示文摘Ir is recognized as efficient catalyst for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER).The high price,however,has hindered its application in the production of hydrogen.In this work,we prepared the self-supported FeIr alloy nanoparticles,taking advantage of solid-state synthesis method.The as-prepared FeIr alloy possesses a novel morphology of pollen,which is consist of smaller FeIr nanoparticles.DFT calculations reveal that the change of the free Gibbs for Ir is negative after the adsorption of active H,while it is positive for the case of Fe.Thus,the alloying of Fe and Ir not only effectively reduces the cost,but also can achieve more adequate adsorption of active H species.Benefitting from this,the as-prepared FeIr alloy nanoparticle exhibits superior HER performance with an overpotential of 19 m V at a current density of 10 m V/cm^(2)and a Tafel slope of 32 m V/dec,when tested in 0.5 M H_(2)SO_(4),better than pure Ir and Pt/C.This work paves the way to the exploration of efficient alloy electrocatalysts for HER.Shengyu Ma Jun Deng Yaping Xu Weiying Tao Xiaoqi Wang Zhiping Lin Qinghua Zhang Lin Gu Wenwu Zhong 2022Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,3:1

10A bibliometric analysis: Research progress and prospects on transition metal dichalcogenides in the biomedical field显示文摘Recent years have witnessed the wide contributions made by transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDCs)to various fields, including the biomedical field. Here, to identify and further promote the development of biomedical TMDCs, we provide a bibliometric analysis of literature regarding TMDCs for biomedical applications. Firstly, general bibliometric distributions of the dataset by year, country, institute, Web of Science category and referenced source are recognized. Following, we carefully explore the research hotspots of the TMDC-related biomedical field, among which biosensing, bioelectronics, cancer theranostics, antibacterial and tissue engineering are identified. The functions of TMDCs in each biomedical scenario, the related properties and research challenges are highlighted. 14Feasibility and physics potential of detecting ^(8)B solar neutrinos at JUNO显示文摘The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory(JUNO)features a 20 kt multi-purpose underground liquid scintillator sphere as its main detector.Some of JUNO's features make it an excellent location for^8B solar neutrino measurements,such as its low-energy threshold,high energy resolution compared with water Cherenkov detectors,and much larger target mass compared with previous liquid scintillator detectors.In this paper,we present a comprehensive assessment of JUNO's potential for detecting^8B solar neutrinos via the neutrino-electron elastic scattering process.A reduced 2 MeV threshold for the recoil electron energy is found to be achievable,assuming that the intrinsic radioactive background^(238)U and^(232)Th in the liquid scintillator can be controlled to 10^(-17)g/g.With ten years of data acquisition,approximately 60,000 signal and 30,000 background events are expected.This large sample will enable an examination of the distortion of the recoil electron spectrum that is dominated by the neutrino flavor transformation in the dense solar matter,which will shed new light on the inconsistency between the measured electron spectra and the predictions of the standard three-flavor neutrino oscillation framework.IfDelta m^(2)_(21)=4.8times10^(-5);(7.5times10^(-5))eV^(2),JUNO can provide evidence of neutrino oscillation in the Earth at approximately the 3sigma(2sigma)level by measuring the non-zero signal rate variation with respect to the solar zenith angle.Moreover,JUNO can simultaneously measureDelta m^2_(21)using^8B solar neutrinos to a precision of 20% or better,depending on the central value,and to sub-percent precision using reactor antineutrinos.A comparison of these two measurements from the same detector will help understand the current mild inconsistency between the value of Delta m^2_(21)reported by solar neutrino experiments and the KamLAND 15Current State of Clinical Studies on Diagnosis and Treatment of Sudden Deafness in China显示文摘Objective To evaluate the current status of clinical studies on diagnosis and treatment of sudden deafness (SD) in China by retrospective reviewing articles on SD published in Chinese journals in the past 5 years. Special attention is given to whether the diagnosis and treatment standards established in 1996 by the otolaryngology branch of Chinese Medical Association (the'1996 standard') were followed. Methods The terms of 'Sudden deafness' and 'treatment' were used as the keywords in searching articles published between 2000 and 2004 in the Chinese biomedicine literature database and Chinese journal network. Principles of evidence-based medicine were applied in reviewing the articles. Results Two hundreds and thirty- four articles were identified, including 176 between 2000 and 2002 and 58 between 2003 and 2004. Among the 176 articles published between 2000 and 2002, effects of medications were studies in 126 articles, of which only 26 (20.6%) followed the'1996 standards'. Eighty-nine (70.6%) were reported based on controlled clinical trials (CCT) and 36 (28.5%) met the criteria of randomized controlled trails (RCT). Of the 58 articles published between 2003 and 2004, drug effects were evaluated in 25 articles, which were all based on the '1996 standards'. However, there lacked placebo control, follow-up data or statistical analysis in these papers. Only 6 articles reported side-effects from pharmacological treatment. Conclusions While a significant number of articles on SD were published in the past 5 years, the '1996 standards' were followed only in a small number of them. The standards may not be appropriate in guiding research and need to be modified for improved guidance to SD management. 17Machine learning assisted prediction of charge transfer properties in organic solar cells by using morphology-related descriptors显示文摘Charge transfer and transport properties are crucial in the photophysical process of exciton dissociation and recombination at the donor/acceptor(D/A)interface.Herein,machine learning(ML)is applied to predict the charge transfer state energy(ECT)and identify the relationship between ECT and intermolecular packing structures sampled from molecular dynamics(MD)simulations on fullerene-and non-fullerene-based systems with different D/A ratios(RDA),oligomer sizes,and D/A pairs.The gradient boosting regression(GBR)exhibits satisfactory performance(r=0.96)in predicting ECT withπ-packing related features,aggregation extent,backbone of donor,and energy levels of frontier molecular orbitals.The charge transport property affected byπ-packing with different RDA has also been investigated by space-charge-limited current(SCLC)measurement and MD simulations.The SCLC results indicate an improved hole transport of non-fullerene system PM6/Y6 with RDA of 1.2:1 in comparison with the 1:1 counterpart,which is mainly attributed to the bridge role of donor unit in Y6.The reduced energetic disorder is correlated with the improved miscibility of polymer with RDA increased from 1:1 to 1.2:1.The morphology-related features are also applicable to other complicated systems,such as perovskite solar cells,to bridge the gap between device performance and microscopic packing structures.Lulu Fu Haixia Hu Qiang Zhu Lifeng Zheng Yuming Gu Yaping Wen Haibo Ma Hang Yin Jing Ma 2023Nano Research2023,16,2:0
