2L-3-n-butylphthalide protects against vascular dementia via activation of the Akt kinase pathway显示文摘As a neuroprotective drug for the treatment of ischemic stroke, 3-n-butylphthalide, a celery seed extract, has been approved by the State Food and Drug Administration of China as a clinical therapeutic drug for ischemic stroke patients. L-3-n-butylphthalide possesses significant efficacy in the treatment of acute ischemic stroke. The activated Akt kinase pathway can prevent the death of nerve cells and exhibit neuroprotective effects in the brain after stroke. This study provides the hypothesis that l-3-n-butylphthalide has a certain therapeutic effect on vascular dementia, and its mechanism depends on the activation of the Akt kinase pathway. A vascular dementia mouse model was established by cerebral repetitive ischemia/reperfusion, and intragastrically administered l-3-n-butylphthalide daily for 28 consecutive days after ischemia/reperfusion, or 7 consecutive days before ischemia/reperfusion. The Morris water maze test showed significant impairment of spatial learning and memory at 4 weeks after operation, but intragastric administration of l-3-n-butylphthalide, especially pretreatment with l-3-n-butylphthalide, significantly reversed these changes. Thionine staining and western blot analylsis showed that preventive and therapeutic application of l-3-n-butylphthalide can reduce loss of pyramidal neurons in the hippocampal CA1 region and alleviate nerve damage in mice with vascular demen-tia. In addition, phosphorylated Akt expression in hippocampal tissue increased significantly after l-3-n-butylphthalide treatment. 5A Survey on Emerging Computing Paradigms for Big Data显示文摘The explosive growth of data volume and the ever-increasing demands of data value extraction have driven us into the era of big data. The '5V'(Variety,Velocity, Volume, Value, and Veracity) characteristics of big data pose great challenges to traditional computing paradigms and motivate the emergence of new solutions.Cloud computing is one of the representative technologies that can perform massive-scale and complex data computing by taking advantages of virtualized resources, parallel processing and data service integration with scalable data storage. However, as we are also experiencing the revolution of Internet-of-things(IoT), the limitations of cloud computing on supporting lightweight end devices significantly impede the flourish of cloud computing at the intersection of big data and IoT era. It also promotes the urgency of proposing new computing paradigms. We provide an overview on the topic of big data, and a comprehensive survey on how cloud computing as well as its related technologies can address the challenges arisen by big data.Then, we analyze the disadvantages of cloud computing when big data encounters IoT, and introduce two promising computing paradigms, including fog computing and transparent computing, to support the big data services of IoT. 6Influence of chromium modification on the properties of MnO_x-FeO_x catalysts for the low-temperature selective catalytic reduction of NO by NH_3显示文摘Catalytic properties of MnOx -FeOx complex oxide (hereafter denoted as Mn-Fe) catalysts modified with different loadings of chromium oxide were investigated by using the combination of physico-chemical techniques, such as N2 physisorption, X-ray diffraction (XRD), high-resolution transmission electron microscope (HRTEM), in situ Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (in situ FT-IR) and temperature-programmed reduction (TPR) and their catalytic activities were evaluated with the selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NOx by NH3 . It was found that with the addition of Cr, more NO could be removed in the low-temperature window (below 120℃). Among the tested catalysts, Mn-Fe-Cr (2 : 2 : 1) catalyst exhibited the best catalytic performance at 80℃ with the NO conversion higher than 90%. The combination of the reaction and characterization results indicated that (1) the strong interaction among tertiary metal oxides existed in the catalysts when Cr was appropriately added, which made the active components better dispersed with less agglomeration and sintering and the largest BET specific surface area could be obtained; (2) Cr improved the low-temperature reducibility of the catalyst and promoted the formation of the active intermediate (-NH+3 ), which favored the low-temperature SCR reaction.Kai Shen Yaping Zhang Xiaolei Wang Haitao Xu Keqin Sun Changcheng Zhou 2013Journal of Energy Chemistry2013,22,4:7

8Porphyromonas gingivalis infection promotes mitochondrial dysfunction through Drp1-dependent mitochondrial fission in endothelial cells显示文摘Porphyromonas gingivalis(P.gingivalis),a key pathogen in periodontitis,has been shown to accelerate the progression of atherosclerosis(AS).However,the definite mechanisms remain elusive.Emerging evidence supports an association between mitochondrial dysfunction and AS.In our study,the impact of P.gingivalis on mitochondrial dysfunction and the potential mechanism were investigated.The mitochondrial morphology of EA.hy926 cells infected with P.gingivalis was assessed by transmission electron microscopy,mitochondrial staining,and quantitative analysis of the mitochondrial network.Fluorescence staining and flow cytometry analysis were performed to determine mitochondrial reactive oxygen species(mtROS)and mitochondrial membrane potential(MMP)levels.Cellular ATP production was examined by a luminescence assay kit.The expression of key fusion and fission proteins was evaluated by western blot and immunofluorescence.Mdivi-1,a specific Drp1 inhibitor,was used to elucidate the role of Drp1 in mitochondrial dysfunction.Our findings showed that P.gingivalis infection induced mitochondrial fragmentation,increased the mtROS levels,and decreased the MMP and ATP concentration in vascular endothelial cells.We observed upregulation of Drp1(Ser616)phosphorylation and translocation of Drp1 to mitochondria.Mdivi-1 blocked the mitochondrial fragmentation and dysfunction induced by P.gingivalis.Collectively,these results revealed that P.gingivalis infection promoted mitochondrial fragmentation and dysfunction,which was dependent on Drp1.Mitochondrial dysfunction may represent the mechanism by which P.gingivalis exacerbates atherosclerotic lesions.Tong Xu Qin Dong Yuxiao Luo Yanqing Liu Liang Gao Yaping Pan Dongmei Zhang 2021International Journal of Oral Science2021,13,3:7
9Transcriptome analysis reveals key differentially expressed genes involved in wheat grain development显示文摘Wheat seed development is an important physiological process of seed maturation and directly affects wheat yield and quality. In this study, we performed dynamic transcriptome microarray analysis of an elite Chinese bread wheat cultivar(Jimai 20) during grain development using the Gene Chip Wheat Genome Array. Grain morphology and scanning electron microscope observations showed that the period of 11–15 days post-anthesis(DPA) was a key stage for the synthesis and accumulation of seed starch. Genome-wide transcriptional profiling and significance analysis of microarrays revealed that the period from 11 to 15 DPA was more important than the 15–20 DPA stage for the synthesis and accumulation of nutritive reserves.Series test of cluster analysis of differential genes revealed five statistically significant gene expression profiles. Gene ontology annotation and enrichment analysis gave further information about differentially expressed genes, and Map Man analysis revealed expression changes within functional groups during seed development. Metabolic pathway network analysis showed that major and minor metabolic pathways regulate one another to ensure regular seed development and nutritive reserve accumulation. We performed gene co-expression network analysis to identify genes that play vital roles in seed development and identified several key genes involved in important metabolic pathways. The transcriptional expression of eight key genes involved in starch and protein synthesis and stress defense was further validated by q RT-PCR. 10Variations of Stable Carbon Isotopes of CH4 Emission from Three Typical Rice Fields in China显示文摘Little is known about the stable carbon isotopes of methane(CH4) emitted(δ^(13)CH_(4emitted)) from permanently flooded rice fields and double rice-cropping fields.The CH4 emission and corresponding δ^(13)CH_(4emitted) under various field managements(mulching,water regime,tillage,and nitrogen(N) fertilization) were simultaneously measured in three typical Chinese rice fields,a permanently flooded rice field in Ziyang City,Sichuan Province,Southwest China,a double-rice cropping field in Yingtan City,Jiangxi Province,Southeast China,and a rice-wheat rotation field in Jurong City,Jiangsu Province,East China,from 2010 to 2012.Results showed different seasonal variations of δ^(13)CH_(4emitted) among the three fields during the rice-growing season.The values of δ^(13)CH_(4emitted) were negatively correlated with corresponding CH4 emissions in seasonal variation and mean,indicating the importance of CH_4 production,oxidation,and transport associated with isotopic fractionation effects to the δ^(13)CH_(4emitted).Seasonal variations of δ^(13)CH_(4emitted) were slightly impacted by mulching cultivation,tillage,and N application,but highly controlled by drainage.Meanwhile,tillage,N application,and especially mulching cultivation had important effects on seasonal mean CH4 emissions and corresponding δ^(13)CH_(4emitted) with low emissions accompanied by high values of δ^(13)CH_(4emitted).Seasonal mean values of δ^(13)CH_(4emitted) from the three fields were similar,mostly ranging from —60‰ to — 50‰,which are well in agreement with previously published data.These demonstrated that seasonal variations of δ^(13)CH_(4emitted) mainly depended on the changes in CH4 emission from rice fields and further indicated the important effects of methanogenic pathways,CH4 oxidation,and CH4 transport associated with isotope fractionation effects influenced by field managements on δ^(13)CH_(4emitted).ZHANG Guangbin MA Jing YANG Yuting YU Haiyang SHI Yaping XU Hua 2017Pedosphere2017,27,1:6
11Baicalin influences the dendritic morphology of newborn neurons in the hippocampus of chronically stressed rats显示文摘Chronic stress models,established in adult Sprague-Dawley rats through a 14-day subcutaneous injection of 40 mg/kg corticosterone,once per day,were given a daily oral feeding of 50 mg/kg baicalin.The study was an attempt to observe the effect of baicalin on neurogenesis in chronically stressed rats.Results showed that subcutaneous injection of corticosterone significantly decreased the total number of doublecortin-positive neurons in the hippocampus.The reduced cell Ⅰ number caused by corticosterone was mainly due to the decrease of class Ⅱ doublecortin-positive neurons,but the class doublecortin-positive neurons were unaffected.Baicalin treatment increased the number of both class Ⅰ and class Ⅱ doublecortin-positive neurons.In addition,doublecortin-positive neurons showed less complexity in dendritic morphology after corticosterone injection,and this change was totally reversed by baicalin treatment.These findings suggest that baicalin exhibits a beneficial effect on adult neurogenesis.Xinghua Jiang Junmei Xu Dingquan Zou Lin Yang Yaping Wang 2013Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,6:6

13Decentralized Attribute-Based Encryption and Data Sharing Scheme in Cloud Storage显示文摘In this paper, we consider the problems of data sharing between multiple distrusted authorities. Prior solutions rely on trusted third parties such as CAs, or are susceptible to collusion between malicious authorities, which can comprise the security of honest ones. In this paper, we propose a new multi-authority data sharing scheme – Decentralized Multi-Authority ABE(DMA), which is derived from CP-ABE that is resilient to these types of misbehavior. Our system distinguishes between a data owner(DO) principal and attribute authorities(AAs): the DO owns the data but allows AAs to arbitrate access by providing attribute labels to users. The data is protected by policy encryption over these attributes. Unlike prior systems, attributes generated by AAs are not user-specific, and neither is the system susceptible to collusion between users who try to escalate their access by sharing keys. 14Evaluation of dolomite reservoirs in the Longwangmiao Formation,Lower Cambrian in Northern Sichuan basin,China显示文摘With the extended petroleum exploration of the carbonate reservoir in the Longwangmiao Formation,Lower Cambrian in Sichuan basin,looking for a new favorable exploration area is the primary task in current exploration.This paper focusing on the dolomite reservoir in the Longwangmiao Formation in the Northern Sichuan basin,will evaluate the reservoir conditions,including reservoir lithology,reservoir spaces,physical properties and other basic characteristics.Combined with sedimentary environment study and diagenesis analysis,the genetic mechanism of Longwangmiao reservoir in study area will be discussed.It indicates that the reservoir rocks of Longwangmiao Formation in the study area are composed of dolarenite and crystalline dolomite,and the main reservoir spaces are intergranular dissolved pores,intragranular dissolved pores and intercrystalline dissolved pores.However,most of dissolved pores have been filled with bitumen,which lead to the reservoir properties very poor,both the porosity and permeability are worse than that of central Sichuan basin,so the reservoir in the Longwangmiao Formation in the Northern Sichuan basin is low-porosity and low-permeability reservoir.During the Early Cambrian Longwangmiao period,the study was near the old-land,and the energy of sea water was not enough to deposit many grain shoals,which cause the sediments are small with lots of quartz and muds.Moreover,because lacking of large scale karstification in the late diagenesis,there isn't much dissolved pores and vugs develop in the Longwangmiao Formation.Some Intergranular dissolved pores and intercrystalline dissolved pores formed by the early atmosphere water dissolved exist as some reservoir spaces,but most of them have been filled with bitumen,which was residual when the ancient oil reservoir transformed.Above factors cause the Longwangmiao Formation in the Northern Sichuan basin become not a very favorable reservoir in Sichuan basin.Xuefei Yang Yaping Wang Xingzhi Wang Deming Zeng Longbo Xu Zisang Huang 2017Petroleum2017,3,4:3
15Porphyromonas gingivalis bacteremia increases the permeability of the blood-brain barrier via the Mfsd2a/Caveolin-1 mediated transcytosis pathway显示文摘Bacteremia induced by periodontal infection is an important factor for periodontitis to threaten general health. P. gingivalis DNA/virulence factors have been found in the brain tissues from patients with Alzheimer’s disease(AD). The blood-brain barrier(BBB) is essential for keeping toxic substances from entering brain tissues. However, the effect of P. gingivalis bacteremia on BBB permeability and its underlying mechanism remains unclear. In the present study, rats were injected by tail vein with P. gingivalis three times a week for eight weeks to induce bacteremia. An in vitro BBB model infected with P. gingivalis was also established. We found that the infiltration of Evans blue dye and Albumin protein deposition in the rat brain tissues were increased in the rat brain tissues with P. gingivalis bacteremia and P. gingivalis could pass through the in vitro BBB model. Caveolae were detected after P. gingivalis infection in BMECs both in vivo and in vitro. Caveolin-1(Cav-1) expression was enhanced after P. gingivalis infection.Downregulation of Cav-1 rescued P. gingivalis-enhanced BMECs permeability. We further found P. gingivalis-gingipain could be colocalized with Cav-1 and the strong hydrogen bonding between Cav-1 and arg-specific-gingipain(RgpA) were detected.Moreover, P. gingivalis significantly inhibited the major facilitator superfamily domain containing 2a(Mfsd2a) expression. Mfsd2a overexpression reversed P. gingivalis-increased BMECs permeability and Cav-1 expression. 16Analyzing Population Density Disparity in China with GIS-automated Regionalization: The Hu Line Revisited显示文摘The famous ’Hu Line’, proposed by Hu Huanyong in 1935, divided China into two regions(southeast and northwest) of comparable area size but drastically different in population. However, the classic Hu Line was derived manually in absence of reliable census data and computational technologies of modern days. It has been subject to criticism of lack of scientific rigor and accuracy. This research uses a GIS-automated regionalization method, termed REDCAP(Regionalization with Dynamically Constrained Agglomerative Clustering and Partitioning), to reconstruct the demarcation line based on the 2010 county-level census data in China. The results show that the logarithmic transformation of population density is a better measure of attributive homogeneity in derived regions than density itself, and produces two regions of nearly identical area size and greater contrast in population. Specifically, the revised Hu Line by Hu Huanyong in 1990 had the southeast region with 94.4% of total population and 42.9% of total land, and our delineation line yields a southeast region with 97.4% population and 50.8% land. Therefore, the population density ratio of the two regions is 27.1 by our line, much higher than the ratio of 22.4 by the Hu Line, and thus outperforms the Hu Line in deriving regions of maximum density contrast with comparable area size. 17Laser-induced Janus graphene/poly(p-phenylene benzobisoxazole)fabrics with intrinsic flame retardancy as flexible sensors and breathable electrodes for fire-fighting field显示文摘Conventional firefighting clothing and fire masks can protect firemen’s safety to a certain extent,whereas cannot perceive environmental hazards and monitor their physical status in real time.Herein,we fabricated two kinds of Janus graphene/poly(pphenylene benzobisoxazole)(PBO)fabrics by laser direct writing approach and evaluated their performance as intelligent firefighting clothes and fire masks.The results showed that the Janus graphene/PBO fabrics were virtually non-combustible and achieved the highest thermal protection time of 18.91 s ever reported in flame,which is due to the intrinsic flame-retardant nature of PBO fibers.The graphene/PBO woven fabrics-based sensor showed good repeatability and stability in human motion monitoring and NO_(2)gas detection.Furthermore,the piezoelectric fire mask was assembled with graphene/PBO nonwoven fabric as electrode layer and polyvinylidene fluoride(PVDF)electrostatic direct writing film as piezoelectric layer.The filtration efficiency of the fire mask reaches 95%for PM_(2.5)and 100%for PM_(3.0),indicating its effective filtration capability for smoke particles in fires.The respiratory resistance of the piezoelectric fire mask(46.8 Pa)was lower than that of commercial masks(49 Pa),showing that it has good wearing comfort.Besides,the piezoelectric fire mask can be sensitive to the speed and intensity of human breathing,which is essential for indirectly reflecting the health of the human body.Consequently,this work provides a facile approach to fabricate next-generation intrinsic flame-retardant smart textiles for smart firefighting.Yu Luo Yaping Miao Huimin Wang Kai Dong Lin Hou Yanyan Xu Weichun Chen Yao Zhang Yingying Zhang Wei Fan 2023Nano Research2023,16,5:2
18A Study on Rural Social Network and Village Planning Paradigm in China显示文摘Current village planning in China, which mostly draws on the experience from urban planning, is a rational planning model based on elite decision-making, resulting in many problems. Essentially, planning is a kind of institutional arrangement according to the demands of multiple actors under certain social context. Since actors and their behaviors in villages are far different from those in cities, leading to the reorganization of planning assumptions and prerequisites, village planning paradigms are prominently distinct from urban planning paradigms. This paper figures out the significance of social networks and argues that village planning is a kind of communicative planning based on endogenous order, referring to the paradigm development course of Western urban planning theories and the features of Chinese villages. 19Salivary protease spectrum biomarkers of oral cancer显示文摘Proteases are important molecules that are involved in many physiological and pathological processes of the human body,such as growth,apoptosis and metastasis cancer cells.They are potential targets in cancer diagnosis and biotherapy.In this study,we analyzed the salivary protease spectrum of patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC),oral benign masses and chronic periodontitis,as well as that of health,using human protease array kits,enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay,western blot and immunofluorescence.The salivary protease spectrum was found to be associated with oral diseases.For example,the saliva of patients with OSCC contained increased numbers of proteases than those of other oral diseases and health.The levels of matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-1,MMP-2,MMP-10,MMP-12,A disintegrin and metalloprotease (ADAM)9,A disintegrin and metalloprotease with thrombospondin type 13 motifs (ADAMST13),cathepsin V and kallikrein 5 in the saliva of patients with OSCC were significantly increased compared with those of other groups.Taking MMP-1,cathepsin V,kallikrein 5 and ADAM9 as biomarkers of OSCC,cutoff values were199,11.34,9.29 and 202.55 pg·mL?1,respectively.From the area under the curve,sensitivity and specificity,the combination of cathepsin V/kallikrein5/ADAM9 was an optimal biomarker for diagnosing OSCC.Thus,analysis of the salivary protease spectrum may be an innovative and cost-efficient approach to evaluating the health status of the oral cavity.Specifically,increases in cathepsin V,kallikrein 5 and ADAM9 may be useful biomarkers in the screening and diagnosis of OSCC.Yun Feng Qian Li Jiao Chen Ping Yi Xin Xu Yaping Fan Bomiao Cui Yu Yu Xiaoying Li Yue Du Qianming Chen Lingling Zhang Jingjing Jiang Xuedong Zhou Ping Zhang 2019International Journal of Oral Science2019,11,2:2
