1A new interpretation of the tectonic setting and age of meta-basic volcanics in the Ondor Sum Group, Inner Mongolia显示文摘The Ondor Sum Group in the central Inner Mongolia is mainly composed of meta-basic volcanics intercalated with ferruginous quartzite and quartz schist,and has been interpreted as slices of oceanic crust or an ophiolite suite of the Early Paleozoic or much older ages.This paper presents new LA-ICP-MS zircon U-Pb dating and geochemical data for the meta-basic volcanics.The results show that zircons in the meta-basic volcanics were derived from complicated sources,most of which may be captured by basic magma from the country rocks or other sources.They yield a large age range from the Late Archean to Early Mesozoic with the youngest age group between 246 and 261 Ma,constraining the protolith of the meta-basic volcanics formed in the Late Permian to Early Triassic.The meta-basic volcanics have an affinity to E-MORB in geochemistry,and also a similarity toward OIB,representing a tectonic setting of limited intra-continental ocean basin.This limited basin might have been related to the continuous extension of the area since the Early Permian and finally closed in the Early Mesozoic.CHU Hang ZHANG JinRui WEI ChunJing WANG HuiChu REN YunWei 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,28:25
2Pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of Da-Cheng-Qi decoction in the liver of rats with severe acute pancreatitis显示文摘AIM To explore the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of Da-Cheng-Qi decoction(DCQD) in the liver of rats with severe acute pancreatitis(SAP) based on an herbal recipe tissue pharmacology hypothesis.METHODS Healthy male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into a sham operation group(SOG); a model group(MG); and low-, median- and high-dose treatment groups(LDG, MDG, and HDG, respectively). Different dosages(6, 12 and 24 g/kg for the LDG, MDG, and HDG, respectively) of DCQD were administered to the rats with SAP. The tissue concentrations of aloeemodin, rhein, emodin, chrysophanol, honokiol, rheo chrysophanol, magnolol, hesperidin, naringenin and naringin in the liver of the treated rats were detected by high-performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry. Alanine transaminase(ALT) and aspartate transaminase(AST) in serum, inflammatory mediators in the liver and pathological scores were evaluated.RESULTS The major components of DCQD were detected in the liver, and their concentrations increased dosedependently. The high dose of DCQD showed a maximal effect in ameliorating the pathological damages, decreasing the pro-inflammatory mediators tumor necrosis factor-α and interleukin(IL)-6 and increasing anti-inflammatory mediators IL-4 and IL-10 in the liver. The pathological scores in the pancreas for the MG were significantly higher than those for the SOG(P < 0.05). DCQD could reduce the pathological scores in the pancreas and liver of the rats with SAP, especially in the HDG. 3Endostatin inhibits hypertrophic scarring in a rabbit ear model显示文摘Objective:The present study was designed to use an in vivo rabbit ear scar model to investigate the efficacy of systemic administration of endostatin in inhibiting scar formation.Methods:Eight male New Zealand white rabbits were randomly assigned to two groups.Scar model was established by making six full skin defect wounds in each ear.For the intervention group,intraperitoneal injection of endostatin was performed each day after the wound healed(about 15 d post wounding).For the control group,equal volume of saline was injected.Thickness of scars in each group was measured by sliding caliper and the scar microcirculatory perfusion was assessed by laser Doppler flowmetry on Days 15,21,28,and 35 post wounding.Rabbits were euthanatized and their scars were harvested for histological and proteomic analyses on Day 35 post wounding.Results:Macroscopically,scars of the control group were thicker than those of the intervention group.Significant differences between the two groups were observed on Days 21 and 35(p<0.05).Scar thickness,measured by scar elevation index(SEI) at Day 35 post wounding,was significantly reduced in the intervention group(1.09±0.19) compared with the controls(1.36±0.28).Microvessel density(MVD) observed in the intervention group(1.73±0.94) was significantly lower than that of the control group(5.63±1.78) on Day 35.The distribution of collagen fibers in scars treated with endostatin was relatively regular,while collagen fibers in untreated controls were thicker and showed disordered alignment.Western blot analysis showed that the expressions of type I collagen and Bcl-2 were depressed by injection of endostatin.Conclusions:Our results from the rabbit ear hypertrophic scar model indicate that systemic application of endostatin could inhibit local hypertrophic scar formation,possibly through reducing scar vascularization and angiogenesis.Our results indicated that endostatin may promote the apoptosis of endothelial cells and block their release of platelet-derived growth factor(PDGF) and fibroblast growth factor(FGF),thereby controlling collagen production by fibroblasts.Blood vessel-targeted treatment may be a promising strategy for scar therapy.Hai-tao REN Hang HU Yuan LI Hong-fei JIANG Xin-lei HU Chun-mao HAN 2013Journal of Zhejiang University-Science B(Biomedicine & Biotechnology)2013,14,3:17

5Platelet count combined with right liver volume and spleen volume measured by magnetic resonance imaging for identifying cirrhosis and esophageal varices显示文摘AIM: To determine whether the combination of platelet count(PLT) with spleen volume parameters and right liver volume(RV) measured by magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) could predict the Child-Pugh class of liver cirrhosis and esophageal varices(EV).METHODS: Two hundred and five cirrhotic patients with hepatitis B and 40 healthy volunteers underwent abdominal triphasic-enhancement MRI and laboratory examination of PLT in 109/L. Cirrhotic patients underwent endoscopy for detecting EV. Spleen maximal width(W), thickness(T) and length(L) in mm together with spleen volume(SV) and RV in mm3 were measured by MRI, and spleen volume index(SI) in mm3 was obtained by W × T × L. SV/PLT, SI/PLT and RV × PLT/SV(RVPS) were calculated and statistically analyzed to assess cirrhosis and EV.RESULTS: SV/PLT(r = 0.676) and SI/PLT(r = 0.707) increased, and PLT(r =-0.626) and RVPS(r =-0.802) decreased with the progress of Child-Pugh class(P < 0.001 for all). All parameters could determine the presence of cirrhosis, distinguish between each class of Child-Pugh class, and identify the presence of EV [the areas under the curve(AUCs) = 0.661-0.973]. 8Research on the carbon isotopic composition of organic matter from Lake Chenghai and Caohai Lake sediments显示文摘The carbon isotopic composition of organic matter from lake sediments has been extensively used to infer variations in productivity. In this paper, based on the study of the contents and δ13C values of organic matter in different types of lakes, it has been found that δ13C values of organic matter have different responses to lake productivity in different lakes. As to the lakes dominated by aqutic macrophytes such as Lake Caohai, organic matter becomes enriched in 13C with increasing productivity. As to the lakes dominated by aquatic algae such as Lake Chenghai, δ13C values of organic matter decrease with increasing productivity, and the degradation of aquatic algae is the main factor leading to the decrease of δ13C values of organic matter with increasing productivity. 12A novel design of 3D carbon host for stable lithium metal anode显示文摘Rational design of porous conductive hosts with high electrical conductivity,large surface area,and adequate interior space is desirable to suppressing dendritic lithium growth and accommodating large volume change of lithium metal anode during the Li plating/stripping process.However,due to the conductive nature of the conductive hosts,Li is easily deposited directly on the top of the hosts,which hinders it from fully functioning.To circumvent the issue,in this study,we designed a novel porous carbon host with a gradient-pore-size structure based on one-dimensional(1D)carbon with different diameters.With this kind of host,stable cycling with high and stable Coulombic efficiency of~98%is achieved at 0.5 mA cm^(−2) with an areal capacity of 1 mAh cm^(−2) over 320 cycles.In contrast,the normal three-dimensional(3D)carbon nanotube host presents a moss-like Li morphology with wildly fluctuating Coulombic efficiency after 100 cycles.The results reveal that the unique gradient-pore-size structure of the 3D conductive host greatly improves the performance of lithium metal batteries.Hang Liu Jie Di Ping Wang Rui Gao Han Tian Pengfei Ren Qingxi Yuan Wanxia Huang Ruiping Liu Qiang Liu Ming Feng 2022Carbon Energy2022,4,4:5

14Fabrication of BiOBr-silicone aerogel photocatalyst in an aqueous system with degradation performance by sol-gel method显示文摘It is a challenge to endow the material with the ability to pollutants degradation while maintaining the oil/water separation performance. Herein, the mixed dispersion of BiOBr photocatalyst and silicone sol was adsorbed in melamine foam. Superhydrophobic BiOBr-silicone aerogel(WCA=154°) was obtained through the transfer melamine foam to an autoclave and reaction at 80℃ for 20 h. The prepared superhydrophobic BiOBr-silicone aerogel can effectively remove the water soluble pollutants which remain within the water phase after oil/water separation. The band gap of the superhydrophobic BiOBr-silicone aerogel was calculated to be 2.71 eV, which shows sensitivity to visible light(458 nm). Through mechanism analysis, it is found that the VB position of BiOBr is at 1.07 eV and the position of CB is at-1.64 eV. 15Effect of Sheng-jiang powder on multiple-organ inflammatory injury in acute pancreatitis in rats fed a high-fat diet显示文摘BACKGROUND Obesity worsens inflammatory organ injury in acute pancreatitis(AP), but there is no effective preventive strategy. Sheng-jiang powder(SJP) has been shown to alleviate multiple-organ inflammatory injury in rats with high-fat diet-induced obesity. Hence, SJP is supposed to have an effect on multiple-organ inflammatory injury in AP in rats fed a high-fat diet.AIM To explore how obesity may contribute to aggravating inflammatory organ injury in AP in rats and observe the effect of SJP on multiple-organ inflammatory injury in AP in rats fed a high-fat diet.METHODS Rats were randomly assigned to a control group(CG), an obese group(OG), and an SJP treatment group(SG), with eight rats per group. The rats in the OG and SG were fed a high-fat diet. From the third week, the rats in the SG were given oral doses of SJP(5 g/kg of body weight). After 12 wk, AP was induced in the three groups. Serum amylase level, body weight, Lee's index, serum biochemistry parameters, and serum inflammatory cytokine and tissue cytokine levels were assessed, and the tissue histopathological scores were evaluated and compared.RESULTS Compared with the CG, serum triglyceride, total cholesterol, interleukin-6, and interleukin-10 levels were significantly higher in the OG, and serum high-density lipoprotein cholesterol level was significantly lower in the OG. Moreover,enhanced oxidative damage was observed in the pancreas, heart, spleen, lung,intestine, liver, and kidney. Evidence of an imbalanced antioxidant defense system, especially in the pancreas, spleen, and intestine, was observed in the obese AP rats. Compared with the OG, serum high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, interleukin-10, and superoxide dismutase expression levels in the pancreas, spleen, and intestine were increased in the SG. 16Activating PPARy Increases NQO1 and γ-GCS Expression via Nrf2 in Thrombin-activated Microglia显示文摘The present study aimed to explore the molecular mechanisms underlying the increase of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate:quinine oxidoreductase 1(NQO1)and y-glutamylcysteine synthetase(γ-GCS)in brain tissues after intracerebral hemorrhage(ICH).The microglial cells obtained from newborn rats were cultured and then randomly divided into the normal control group(NC group),model control group(MC group),rosiglitazone(RSG)intervention group(RSG group),retinoic-acid intervention group(RSG+RA group),and sulfbraphane group(RSG+SF group).The expression levels of NQO1,γ-GCS,and nuclear factor E2-related factor 2(Nrf2)were measured by real-time polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR)and Western blotting,respectively.The results showed that the levels of NQO1,γ-GCS and Nrf2 were significantly increased in the MC group and the RSG group as compared with those in the NC group(P<0.01).They were found to be markedly decreased in the RSG+RA group and increased in the RSG+SF group when compared with those in the MC group or the RSG group(P<0.01).The RSG+SF group displayed the highest levels of NQO1,γ-GCS,and Nrf2 among the five groups.In conclusion,a medium dose of RSG increased the anti-oxidative ability of thrombinactivated microglia by increasing the expression of NQO1 and γ-GCS.The molecular mechanisms underlying the increase of NQO1 and γ-GCS in thrombin-activated microglia may be associated with the activation of Nrf2.Hang HANG Li-kun WANG Si-ying REN An-jun SONG Guo-feng WU 2020Current Medical Science2020,40,1:4
17Neuroendocrine characteristics of induced pluripotent stem cells from polycystic ovary syndrome women显示文摘Dear Editor, Polycystic ovary syn drome (PCOS) is a comm on female reproductive endocrinopathy that afflicts up to 10%-15% of women in reproductive age worldwide (Nestler, 2016). Women with PCOS exhibit hyperandrogenism, intermittent/ absent menstrual cycles, and polycystic ovaries on ultrasound (Rotterdam, 2004). The pathophysiology of PCOS extends beyond infertility and hirsutism to hypothalamic neuroendocrine dysfunotion (Goodarzi et al., 2011). Most wome n with PCOS exhibit in creased luteinizing horm one (LH) levels, resulting from high-frequency gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) secretion (Cimino et al., 2016). Pren ata I testostero ne (T) treatment in sheep results in disrupted steroid feedback on gonadotropin release, which in creases pituitary sen sitivity to GnRH and subseque ntly leads to LH hypersecretion (Sullivan and Moenter, 2004;Cardoso et al., 2016). A recent study shows that GnRHdependent LH pulsatility and secretion are elevated by anti- Mullerian hormone (AMH) in PCOS disease. The increased prenatal AMH reprograms fetus and induces PCOS in adults (Tata et al., 2018). Furthermore, the androgen receptor (AR) plays a role in hyperandrogenism and ovarian folliculoge esis in PCOS (Wang et al., 2015;Abbott, 2017). However, the disease mechanism behind PCOS remains unclear, and current management focuses on treating the symptoms but not the mechanism (Chen et al., 2016;Shi et al., 2018). 19Investigation of Portevin–Le Chatelier effect in rolled α-phase Mg-Li alloy during tensile and compressive deformation显示文摘Avoiding the Portevin-Le Chatelier(PLC)effect is very important concern for wrought Mg-Li alloys.In this study,the special PLC effect was found in rolled Mg-5Li-3Al-2Zn(LAZ532)alloy during tensile and compressive deformation.By observing microstructure evolution of the alloy during tensile and compressive deformation,it was found that prismaticand pyramidalslips were activated during tensile deformation,resulting in plenty of dislocation accumulation.In the deformation process after compressive yielding,the deformations in coarse grains and fine grains were dominated by{1012}extension twinning and grain boundary slip,respectively.Based on experimental result analysis,the sudden appearance of PLC effect in the later stage of axial tensile deformation(along rolled direction)was caused by interaction between solute atoms and dislocations.In the process of axial compressive deformation(along rolled direction),PLC effect presented the complex and changeable phenomenon of appeared-disappeared-appeared,which was mainly caused by the continuous nucleation of twin in the material,the activation of grain boundary slip and the shear deformation of twin,respectively.Xiaoqiang Li Chunlong Cheng Qichi Le Lei Bao Peipeng Jin Ping Wang Liang Ren Hang Wang Xiong Zhou Chenglu Hu 2020Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,52,17:3
20Depression compromises antiviral innate immunity via the AVP-AHI1-Tyk2 axis显示文摘Depression is a serious public-health issue.Recent reports have suggested higher susceptibility to viral infections in depressive patients.However,how depression affects antiviral innate immune signaling remains unknown.Here,we revealed a reduction in expression of Abelson helper integration site 1(AHI1)in the peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMCs)and macrophages from the patients with major depressive disorder(MDD),which leads to attenuated antiviral immune response.We found that depression-related arginine vasopressin(AVP)induces reduction of AHI1 in macrophages.Further studies demonstrated that AHI1 is a critical stabilizer of basal type-I-interferon(IFN-I)signaling.Mechanistically,AHI1 recruits OTUD1 to deubiquitinate and stabilize Tyk2,while AHI1 reduction downregulates Tyk2 and IFN-I signaling activity in macrophages from both MDD patients and depression model mice.Interestingly,we identified a clinical analgesic meptazinol that effectively stimulates AHI1 expression,thus enhancing IFN-I antiviral defense in depression model mice.Our study promotes the understanding of the signaling mechanisms of depression-mediated antiviral immune dysfunction,and reveals meptazinol as an enhancer of antiviral innate immunity in depressive patients.Hong-Guang Zhang Bin Wang Yong Yang Xuan Liu Junjie Wang Ning Xin Shifeng Li Ying Miao Qiuyu Wu Tingting Guo Yukang Yuan Yibo Zuo Xiangjie Chen Tengfei Ren Chunsheng Dong Jun Wang Hang Ruan Miao Sun Xingshun Xu Hui Zheng 2022Cell Research2022,32,10:3
