1Neuroprotective potential of Quercetin in combination with piperine against 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine-induced neurotoxicity显示文摘1-Methy-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine(MPTP)is a neurotoxin that selectively damages dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra pars compacta and induces Parkinson’s like symptoms in rodents.Quercetin(QC)is a natural polyphenolic bioflavonoid with potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties but lacks of clinical attraction due to low oral bioavailability.Piperine is a well established bioavailability enhancer used pre-clinically to improve the bioavailability of antioxidants(e.g.,Quercetin).Therefore,the present study was designed to evaluate the neuroprotective potential of QC together with piperine against MPTP-induced neurotoxicity in rats.MPTP(100μg/μL/rat,bilaterally)was injected intranigrally on days 1,4 and 7 using a digital stereotaxic apparatus.QC(25 and 50 mg/kg,intragastrically)and QC(25 mg/kg,intragastrically)in combination with piperine(2.5 mg/kg,intragastrically)were administered daily for 14 days starting from day 8 after the 3^(rd) injection of MPTP.On day 22,animals were sacrificed and the striatum was isolated for oxidative stress parameter(thiobarbituric acid reactive substances,nitrite and glutathione),neuroinflammatory cytokine(interleukin-1β,interleukin-6,and tumor necrosis factor-α)and neurotransmitter(dopamine,norepinephrine,serotonin,gamma-aminobutyric acid,glutamate,3,4-dihydroxyphenylacetic acid,homovanillic acid,and 5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid)evaluations.Bilateral infusion of MPTP into substantia nigra pars compacta led to significant motor deficits as evidenced by impairments in locomotor activity and rotarod performance in open field test and grip strength and narrow beam walk performance.Both QC(25 and 50 mg/kg)and QC(25 mg/kg)in combination with piperine(2.5 mg/kg),in particular the combination therapy,significantly improved MPTP-induced behavioral abnormalities in rats,reversed the abnormal alterations of neurotransmitters in the striatum,and alleviated oxidative stress and inflammatory response in the striatum.These findings indicate that piperine can enhance the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties of QC,and QC in combination with piperine exhibits strong neuroprotective effects against MPTP-induced neurotoxicity.Shamsher Singh Sumit Jamwal Puneet Kumar 2017Neural Regeneration Research2017,12,7:6
2Buspirone along with melatonin attenuates oxidative damage and anxiety-like behavior in a mouse model of immobilization stress显示文摘AIM: Stress is recognized to precipitate anxiety and related psychological problems characterized by a wide range of biochemical and behavioral changes. The present study was carried out to investigate the protective effects of melatonin and buspirone, and their combination, against six hours immobilization stress-induced, anxiety-like behavioral and oxidative damage in mice. METHOD: Male Laca mice were pre-treated with melatonin(2.5, 5 mg·kg–1), buspirone(5, 10 mg·kg–1), and their combination for consecutive five days. On the 6th day, animals were immobilized for six hours, and thereafter various behavioral tests were performed followed by biochemical tests. RESULTS: Immobilization stress significantly impaired body weight, locomotor activity, and caused anxiety-like behavior, along with increased oxidative damage. Pretreatment with melatonin and buspirone significantly improved the loss in body weight and locomotor activity, attenuated anxiety-like behavior(in both the mirror chamber and plus maze performance tasks), further restored the levels of brain total proteins, and caused antioxidant-like effects, as evidenced by reduced lipid peroxidation, nitrite concentration, and restoration of reduced glutathione and catalase activity, as compared to control animals. In addition, combination of melatonin(2.5, 5 mg·kg–1) with buspirone(5 mg·kg–1) significantly potentiated their protective effects, as compared to their effects individually. 3选择性和非选择性环氧合酶抑制剂对慢性压力小鼠模型具有保护作用(英文)显示文摘目的环氧合酶是广泛表达于大脑各区域的一类同功酶,主要用于治疗疼痛与炎症。最近研究还发现环氧合酶在大脑相关疾病的病理生理过程中扮演关键角色。本文运用慢性压力动物模型,对环氧合酶抑制剂的保护作用做一探讨。方法每只小鼠每天被迫游泳 6 min,共持续 15 天。结束后进行行为学(包括活动能力、焦虑以及记忆能力)和生化指标(包括脂质过氧化、亚硝酸盐水平、还原性型谷胱甘肽和过氧化氢酶水平)的检测。结果持续15天的强迫性游泳会损伤小鼠活动能力,引起焦虑样行为的产生,并削弱记忆力。在生化指标方面,脂质过氧化和亚硝酸盐水平均显著提高,还原型谷胱甘肽和过氧化氢酶活力则显著降低。此外,环氧合酶抑制剂,包括甲氧萘丙酸、罗非考昔、美洛昔康、尼美舒利和伐地考昔,都能显著减缓这些损伤。结论环氧合酶抑制剂可被用来治疗慢性疲劳综合症。Anil Kumar Beenta Kumari Puneet Kumar 2010Neuroscience Bulletin2010,26,1:1

6Syncytes during male meiosis resulting in 2n pollen grain formationin Lindelofia longiflora var.falconeri显示文摘Lindelofia longiflora(Royle ex Benth.) Baill.var.falconeri(Cl.) Brand(Family:Boraginaceae) is investigated cytologically(n = 12) for the first time from the cold deserts of Pangi Valley,Chamba District(Himachal Pradesh) in India.We report the formation of syncytes and 2n pollen grains in the species.During meiosis,the majority of the pollen mother cells(PMCs) exhibited 12 bivalents,equal segregation of chromosomes during anaphases,regular tetrads,and normal-sized pollen grain formation.Occasionally,two proximate PMCs fused during the early stages of prophase-I and resulted in the formation of syncytes.The frequency of syncytes in the accession is rather low,at 25 out of 1866(1.33%).Such syncyte PMCs are detectable during meiosis due to their larger size compared to typical PMCs.The syncytes or polyploid cells showed normal 24 bivalents and depicted perfectly regular meiotic course.But the products of such PMCs yield 2n or larger sized pollen grains that are almost double the size of typical normal or n pollen grains.The origin of syncytes as a consequence of the fusion of meiocytes during the early stages of meiosis-I could be attributed to low temperature stress conditions prevailing in the Pangi Valley,where temperature during May and June dip to below freezing,the time the plants enters the reproductive/flowering bud stage.It is possible that such apparently fertile 2n pollen grains originating from syncytes might play a role in the origin of intraspecific polyploids in the species.Vijay Kumar SINGHAL Pawan Kumar RANA Puneet KUMAR 2011Journal of Systematics and Evolution2011,49,5:1
7Tailoring of structural,optical and electrical properties of anatase TiO_(2)via doping of cobalt and nitrogen ions显示文摘Pure(pristine)anatase and mono–doped and co–doped derivatives of TiO_(2)having nitrogen(N)and cobalt(Co)as dopants with respective fixed doping concentrations of 0.7 mol.%and 1.0 mol.%were synthesized using auto–combustion sol–gel technique.The doping effects at corresponding non–metal and transition metal sites of TiO_(2)on the basis of the structural,optical and electrical properties have been investigated.X–ray diffraction(XRD)measurement confirms the formation of pure anatase phase of TiO_(2)for all samples having I41/amd space group of tetragonal structure which has been also verified by the Raman spectroscopy measurement.Various crystallographic parameters have been calculated by performing Rietveld refinement of XRD data including average crystallite size that has been observed in the range of10–15 nm.Pure anatase phase indicates the incorporation of Co^(2+)into TiO_(2)lattice which assists the substitution of N in place of oxygen in co–doped TiO_(2).The band gap tuning towards the visible region from3.2 to 2.1 e V has been achieved with mono–doping and co–doping of the N and Co in TiO_(2)lattice.This can be described in terms of the formation of localized levels of N–2p and Co–3d states in mono–doping and an isolated intermediate band formation in co–doping case.Electrical properties have been investigated in details and explained as the synergetic effects of structural and inherent ionic characters of various dopants.The observed band gaps of all doped samples lie within the visible region which makes them pertinent as the solar energy harnessing materials for photocatalytic and photovoltaic applications.Anchal Sharma Puneet Negi Ruhit Jyoti Konwar Hemaunt Kumar Yogita Verma Shailja Prakash Chandra Sati Bhargav Rajyaguru Himanshu Dadhich N.A.Shah P.S.Solanki 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,16:1

16Three Phase Composite Cylinder Assemblage Model for Analyzing the Elastic Behavior of MWCNT-Reinforced Polymers显示文摘Evolution of computational modeling and simulation has given more emphasis on the research activities related to carbon nanotube(CNT)reinforced polymer composites recently.This paper presents the composite cylinder assemblage(CCA)approach based on continuum mechanics for investigating the elastic properties of a polymer resin reinforced by multi-walled carbon nanotubes(MWCNTs).A three-phase cylindrical representative volume element(RVE)model is employed based on CCA technique to elucidate the effects of inter layers,chirality,interspacing,volume fraction of MWCNT,interphase properties and temperature conditions on the elastic modulus of the composite.The interface region between CNT and polymer matrix is modeled as the third phase with varying material properties.The constitutive relations for each material system have been derived based on solid mechanics and proper interfacial traction continuity conditions are imposed.The predicted results from the CCA approach are in well agreement with RVE-based finite element model.The outcomes reveal that temperature softening effect becomes more pronounced at higher volume fractions of CNTs.Puneet Kumar J.Srinivas 2018Computers, Materials & Continua2018,,1:1

19咖啡酸、罗非考昔及两者连用对喹啉酸诱导的大鼠行为变化及谷胱甘肽氧化还原紊乱的改善与修复作用(英文)显示文摘目的环氧和酶(COX)抑制剂和脂肪氧化酶(LOX)抑制剂已被证实具有神经保护作用,但对其具体机制目前研究甚少。喹啉酸具有兴奋毒性作用,通过激活NMDA受体,引起类似于亨廷顿舞蹈症(Huntington’s Disease,HD)的症状,包括行为、形态以及生化水平上的各种异常。本研究旨在探讨咖啡酸(LOX特异性抑制剂)和罗非考昔(COX特异性抑制剂)各自以及两者连用对喹啉酸引起的大鼠神经毒性的改善和修复作用。方法在大鼠右侧纹状体内注射喹啉酸,诱导神经毒性。随后每天给大鼠口服咖啡酸或罗非考昔,或两者同时服用。用一系列行为学及生化检测方法检测咖啡酸和罗非考昔,以及两者连用对喹啉酸诱导的大鼠行为变化及谷胱甘肽氧化还原紊乱的改善和修复作用。结果在纹状体注射喹啉酸不仅能降低大鼠体重,引起运动失调,而且能破坏纹状体内氧化还原间的平衡,表现为谷胱甘肽水平降低,以及氧化谷胱甘肽水平升高。长期服用咖啡酸或罗非考昔,以及两者连用都能显著减轻喹啉酸引起的行为变化,修复氧化还原水平的平衡。而当剂量为2.5mg/kg时,咖啡酸未表现出任何保护作用。结论本实验结果表明,大脑的兴奋性中毒有可能通过改变谷胱甘肽的水平影响氧化与抗氧化间的平衡。环氧合酶和脂肪氧化酶通路都可能参与了喹啉酸诱导的神经毒性过程。这些结果为治疗HD提供了研究靶点。Harikesh Kalonia Puneet Kumar Anil Kumar Bimla Nehru 2009Neuroscience Bulletin2009,25,6:0
20A Robust Fractional Order Fuzzy P + Fuzzy I + Fuzzy D Controller for Nonlinear and Uncertain System显示文摘In this paper, a robust fractional order fuzzy P + fuzzy I + fuzzy D(FOFP + FOFI + FOFD) controller is presented for a nonlinear and uncertain 2-link planar rigid manipulator. It is a nonlinear fuzzy controller with variable gains that makes it selfadjustable or adaptive in nature. The fractional order operators further make it more robust by providing additional degrees of freedom to the design engineer. The integer order counterpart, fuzzy P + fuzzy I + fuzzy D(FP + FI + FD) controller, for a comparative study,was realized by taking the integer value for the fractional order operators in FOFP + FOFI + FOFD controller. The performances of both the fuzzy controllers are evaluated for reference trajectory tracking and disturbance rejection with and without model uncertainty and measurement noise. Genetic algorithm was used to optimize the parameters of controller under study for minimum integral of absolute error. Simulation results demonstrated that FOFP + FOFI + FOFD controller show much better performance as compared to its counterpart FP + FI + FD controller in servo as well as the regulatory problem and in model uncertainty and noisy environment FOFP + FOFI + FOFD controller demonstrated more robust behavior as compared to the FP + FI + FD controller. For the developed controller bounded-input and bounded-output stability conditions are also developed using Small Gain Theorem.Vineet Kumar K. P. S.
