| 5 | Optimizing submerged arc welding using response surface methodology, regression analysis, and genetic algorithm显示文摘The weld quality is significantly affected by the weld parameters(arc voltage, welding current, nozzle to plate distance and welding speed) in the submerged arc welding(SAW). Bead-on-plate welds were performed on stainless steel plates by automated SAW machine. The experimental data were collected in accordance with the response surface methodology(RSM). In addition to RSM, the regression analysis was performed to set up inputeoutput relationships in the SAW process. It was found that weld parameters define the geometry of weld bead and determine the mechanical properties of the joint. The influence of the input variables on weld bead geometry is represented as graphs. It was found that an increment in voltage increases the bead width but decreases the bead height, whereas the current increment result-in an increment in bead height and no change in bead width. The bead width and height decrease with the increment in the welding speed. With an increment in the nozzle-to-plate distance, bead width decrease, but bead height increases. The value of bead hardness increases with the increment in current but the increment in voltage and travel speed does not have a significant influence on the bead hardness. The predictions from the mathematical model developed and the corresponding experimental results are having a fair agreement. | 11 | Insight to drug delivery aspects for colorectal cancer显示文摘Colorectal cancer(CRC) is the third most common cancer diagnosed worldwide in human beings. Surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and targeted therapiesare the conventional four approaches which are currently used for the treatment of CRC. The site specific delivery of chemotherapeutics to their site of action would increase effectiveness with reducing side effects. Targeted oral drug delivery systems based on polysaccharides are being investigated to target and deliver chemotherapeutic and chemopreventive agents directly to colon and rectum. Site-specific drug delivery to colon increases its concentration at the target site, and thus requires a lower dose and hence abridged side effects. Some novel therapies are also briefly discussed in article such as receptor(epidermal growth factor receptor, folate receptor, wheat germ agglutinin, VEGF receptor, hyaluronic acid receptor) based targeting therapy; colon targeted proapoptotic anticancer drug delivery system, gene therapy. Even though good treatment options are available for CRC, the ultimate therapeutic approach is to avert the incidence of CRC. It was also found that CRCs could be prevented by diet and nutrition such as calcium, vitamin D, curcumin, quercetin and fish oil supplements. | 12 | Effect of Biogas Digested Liquid on CH_4 and N_2O Flux in Paddy Ecosystem显示文摘Biogas production generates digested slurry as a byproduct. It can be used as a fertilizer especially after its conversion into digested liquid. A pot based study was conducted in order to evaluate the effect of the application of digested liquid on CH 4 and N 2 O flux, and plant biomass in paddy. Analysis revealed that digested liquid treated soils released more CH 4 compared to ammonium sulphate and the control. Ammonium sulphate treated soil emitted the highest N 2 O whereas digested liquid application decreased its emission significantly. Further, the cumulative emission over 101 d of the experiment was found to be higher for CH 4(16.9 to 29.9 g m-2) compared to N 2 O(-49.3 to 18.9 mg m-2) for all treatments. Digested liquid application had positive impact on plant variables such as panicle number and weight of panicles. This study suggests that digested liquid application significantly decrease N 2 O emission and increase CH 4 emission possibly due to affecting the availability of organic C in the soil to microbial activity for methanogenesis. | 13 | 马蹄花叶提取物在雄性白化病小鼠体内的抗炎作用(英文)显示文摘AIM:To study the in vivo anti-inflammatory activity of Tabernaemontana divaricata leaf extract on male albino mice.METHODS:Aqueous decoction and methanol leaf extracts were tested for their ability to reduce croton oil-induced edema in the mouse ear after topical application.The methanol leaf extract dose-dependently inhibited the croton oil-induced ear edema in mice(ID50<500μg·cm 2).A bioassay-guided liquid–liquid fractionation of this methanol extract gave four active fractions:water insoluble(F1),hexane(F2),ethyl acetate(F3)and water(F4).RESULTS:The hexane fraction showed a very high activity(42.1%inhibition at0.7μg·cm 2)as compared to the control.The other fractions were less active(F1:56.1%at 506.2μg·cm-2;F3:57.3%at 289.3μg·cm 2;and F4:31.9%for 203.8μg·cm 2)while indomethacin gave 48.8%of inhibition at 90μg·cm 2.The activity of F1 and F3 may be at least in part explained by the presence of anti-inflammatory flavonoids,while the activity was not correlated to the tannin contents.No compounds were detected in the most active F2 fraction.CONCLUSIONS:The results give a rational support to the traditional use of T.divaricata in tropical India as anti-inflammatory agent. | Sachin Jain Praveen Sharma Santosh Ghule Ankit Jain Nitesh Jain | 2013 | 中国天然药物2013,11,5: | 2 |

| 17 | Topological Studies of Three-dimensional Flows in a High Pressure Compressor Stator Blade Row without and with Boundary Layer Aspiration显示文摘This paper presents a numerical study of the flow topologies of three-dimensional (3D) flows in a high pressure compressor stator blade row without and with boundary layer aspiration on the hub wall. The stator blade is representative of the first stage operating under transonic inlet conditions and the blade design encourages development of highly complex 3D flows. The blade has a small tip clearance. The computational fluid dynamics (CFD) studies show progressive increase of hub corner stall with the increase in incidence. Aspiration is implemented on the hub wall via a slot in the corner between the hub wall and the suction surface. The CFD studies show aspiration to be sensitive to the suction flow rate; lower rate leads to very complex flow structures and increased level of losses whereas higher rate renders aspiration effective for control of hub corner separation. The flow topologies are studied by trace of skin friction lines on the walls. The nature of flow can be explained by the topological rules of closed separation. | 19 | Outcomes of kidney transplantation in patients with hepatitis B virus infection:A systematic review and meta-analysis显示文摘AIM To assess outcomes of kidney transplantation including patient and allograft outcomes in recipients with hepatitis B virus(HBV) infection, and the trends of patient's outcomes overtime.METHODS A literature search was conducted using MEDLINE, EMBASE and Cochrane Database from inception through October 2017. Studies that reported odds ratios(OR) of mortality or renal allograft failure after kidney transplantation in patients with HBV [defined as hepatitis B surface antigen(HBs Ag) positive] were included. The comparison group consisted of HBs Agnegative kidney transplant recipients. Effect estimates from the individual study were extracted and combined using random-effect, generic inverse variance method of Der Simonian and Laird. The protocol for this metaanalysis is registered with PROSPERO(International Prospective Register of Systematic Reviews; no. CRD42017080657).RESULTS Ten observational studies with a total of 87623 kidney transplant patients were enrolled. Compared to HBs Ag-negative recipients, HBs Ag-positive status was significantly associated with increased risk of mortality after kidney transplantation(pooled OR = 2.48; 95%CI: 1.61-3.83). Meta-regression showed significant negative correlations between mortality risk after kidney transplantation in HBs Ag-positive recipients and year of study(slopes =-0.062, P = 0.001). HBs Agpositive status was also associated with increased risk of renal allograft failure with pooled OR of 1.46(95%CI: 1.08-1.96). There was also a significant negative correlation between year of study and risk of allograft failure(slopes =-0.018, P = 0.002). These associations existed in overall analysis as well as in limited cohort of hepatitis C virus-negative patients. We found no publication bias as assessed by the funnel plots and Egger's regression asymmetry test with P = 0.18 and 0.13 for the risks of mortality and allograft failure after kidney transplantation in HBs Ag-positive recipients, respectively.CONCLUSION Among kidney transplant patients, there are significant associations between HBs Ag-positive status and poor outcomes including mortality and allograft failure. | 20 | Antifertility effect of chronically administered Tabernaemontana divaricata leaf extract on male rats显示文摘Objective:To investigate the antifertility effect of chronically administered Tabernaemontana divarkala(T.divaricata) leaf extract on male rats.Methods:The effect of 50%ethanol extract of T.divaricata leaves on reproduction was studied on male rats.The study was divided into four groups of five animals each.The first groups(1) received vehicle alone to serve as control. The second,third and fourth groups(Ⅱ,ⅡandⅣ) of animals were administered the leaf extract daily at 50 mg/kg body weight,p.o.,100 nig/kg body weight,p.o.,and 200 mg/kg body weight, p.o.,respectively,for a period of 60 days.Results:Significant decreases in the weight of testes, epididymis,seminal vesicle and ventral prostate were observed.A dose related reduction in the testicular sperm count,epididymal sperm count and motility,number of fertile male,ratio between delivered and inseminated females and numbers of pups were observed.The testis showed a clear correlation between the dose and severity of lesions of seminiferous epithelium. In general,the seminiferous tubules appear reduced in size with a frequently filled eosinophilic material.Spermatogenesis arrested at the secondary spermatocyte stage.Pachytene spermatocytes were undergoing degeneration.Disorganisation and sloughing of immature germ cell were visible. Leydinf cells were atrophied.No morphological changes were observed in Sertoli cells.Significant reduction in serum concentration of luteinizing hormone and testosterone were observed.No distinct change in serum FSH concentration was recorded.The final body weights of all groups were elevated markedly.No alterations were recorded in any hematologiocal parameters.
