| 1 | Estimation and inter-comparison of dust aerosols based on MODIS, MISR and AERONET retrievals over Asian desert regions显示文摘This study presents detailed analysis of spatiotemporal variations and trend of dust optical properties i.e., Aerosol Optical Depth(AOD) and Angstrom component over Asian desert regions using thirteen years of data(i.e., 2001–2013) retrieved from Aerosol Robotic Network(AERONET), Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer(MODIS) and Multi-angle Imaging Spectroradiometer(MISR). These regions include Solar Village, Dunhuang and Dalangzadgad and are considered as origin of desert aerosols in Asia. Mann–Kendall trend test was used to show the trend of AOD. The relationship of AOD with weather parameters and general AOD trend over different wavelengths has also been shown. AOD's trend has been observed significant throughout the year in Solar Village, while in Dunhuang and Dalanzadgad the significant trend has been found only in peak period(March–June).Analysis show high values of AOD and low values of angstrom in Solar Village during peak period. In Chinese desert regions, high values of AOD have been found during peak period and low values in pre-peak period. | 2 | Plasmon Assisted Highly Efficient Visible Light Catalytic CO_(2) Reduction Over the Noble Metal Decorated Sr-Incorporated g-C_(3)N_(4)显示文摘The photocatalytic performance of g-C_(3)N_(4) for CO_(2) conversion is still inadequate by several shortfalls including the instability,insu cient solar light absorption and rapid charge carrier's recombination rate. To solve these problems,herein,noble metals(Pt and Au)decorated Sr-incorporated g-C_(3)N_(4) photocatalysts are fabricated via the simple calcination and photo-deposition methods. The Sr-incorporation remarkably reduced the g-C_(3)N_(4) band gap from 2.7 to 2.54 eV,as evidenced by the UV–visible absorption spectra and the density functional theory results. The CO_(2) conversion performance of the catalysts was evaluated under visible light irradiation. The Pt/0.15 Sr-CN sample produced 48.55 and 74.54 μmol h-1 g-1 of CH_(4) and CO,respectively.These amounts are far greater than that produced by the Au/0.15 Sr-CN,0.15 Sr-CN,and CN samples. A high quantum e ciency of 2.92% is predicted for the Pt/0.15 Sr-CN sample. Further,the stability of the photocatalyst is confirmed via the photocatalytic recyclable test. | 4 | Antibiotic susceptibility profiling and virulence potential of Campylobacter jejuni isolates from different sources in Pakistan显示文摘Objective:To determine antibiotic resistance patterns and virulence potential of Campylobacter jejuni(C.jejuni) isolates from clinical human diarrheal infections,cattle and healthy broilers.Methods:Antibiotic sensitivity patterns of C.jejuni isolates were determined by Kirby Bauer Disc Diffusion assay.These isolates were then subjected to virulence profiling for the detection of map A(membrane-associated protein).cadF(fibronectin binding protein).wlaN(beta-1.3-galaclosyltransferase) and neu AB(sialic acid biosynthesis gene).Further C.jejuni isolates were grouped by random amplification of polymorphic DNA(RAPD) profiling.Results:A total of436 samples from poultry(n=88).cattle(n=216) and humans(n=132) from different locations were collected.Results revealed percentage of C.jejuni isolates were 35.2%(31/88).25.0%(54/216) and 11.3%(15/132) among poultry,cattle and clinical human samples respectively.Antibiotic susceptibility results showed that similar resistance patterns to cephalothin was ie.87.0%,87.1%and 89%among humans,poultry and cattle respectively,followed by sulfamethoxazolc+trimcthoprim 40.0%,38.7%and 31.0%in humans,poultry and cattle and Ampicillin 40%,32%and 20%in humans,poultry and cattle respectively.Beta-lactamase activity was detected in 40.00%humans.20.37%cattle and 32.25%in poultry C.jejuni isolates.CadF and mapA were present in all poultry,cattle and human C jejuni isolates.wlauN was not detected in any isolate and neu AB was found in 9/31(36%) poultry isolates.RAPD profiling results suggested high diversity of C.jejuni isolates.Conclusions:Detection of multidrug resistant C.jejuni strains from poultry and cattle is alarming as they can be potential hazard to humans.Moreover,predominant association of virulence factors,cadF and map A(100%each) in C.jejuni isolates from all sources and neuAB(36%) with poultry isolates suggest the potential source of transmission of diverse types of C.jejuni to humans. | Fariha Masood Siddiqui Muhammad Akram Nighat Nourccn Zobia Noreen Habib Bokhari | 2015 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2015,8,3: | 2 |

| 11 | Tectonic Imprints of the Hazara Kashmir Syntaxis on the Mesozoic Rocks Exposed in Munda, Mohmand Agency, Northwest Pakistan显示文摘Two well-developed mesoscopic folds, D_2 and D_3, which postdate the middle amphibolite metamorphism, were recognized in the western hinterland zone of Pakistan. NW–SE trending D_2 folds developed during NE–SW horizontal bulk shortening followed by NE–SW trending D_3 folds, which developed during SE–NW shortening. Micro- to mesoscopically the NW–SE trending S2 crenulation cleavage, boudins and mineral stretching lineations are overprinted by D_3. The newly established NW–SE trending micro- to mesoscopic structures in Munda termed D_2, which postdated F_1/F_2, is synchronously developed with F3 structures in the western hinterland zone of Pakistan. We interpret that D_2 and D_3 folds are counterclockwise rotated in the tectonic event that has evolved the Hazara Kashmir Syntaxis after the main phase Indian plate and Kohistan Island Arc collision. Chlorite replacement by biotite in the main matrix crenulation cleavages indicates prograde metamorphism related with D_2. The inclusion of muscovite and biotite in garnet porphyroblasts and the presence of staurolite in these rocks indicate that the Barrovian metamorphic conditions predate D_2 and D_3. | 18 | Diagnostic methods and risk analysis based on fuzzy soft information显示文摘In our daily life problem we face uncertainties in making right decisions. In this study, we propose two different decision-making problems in medical field. The first problem is fever diagnosing and second problem is mouth cancer risk analysis. In the first problem, we use fuzzy soft similarity measures and fuzzy soft matrix operations to diagnose the type of fever. We consider a hypothetical case study and manipulate similarity measures on it. Our work diagnoses different patients having similar symptoms. We also develop a small application using JAVA. In the second problem, we perform risk analysis of mouth cancer. The proposed fuzzy soft expert system takes two biochemical parameters as inputs that is, serum total malondialdehyde (MDA), and serum proton donors capacity (donors_protons) and determines the risk of mouth cancer. Our study facilitates doctors by diagnosing mouth cancer at its earlier stages. There are four main components of our fuzzy soft expert system. The first component is named as fuzzification which converts crisp input into linguistic variables and formulates fuzzy sets. The second component transforms fuzzy sets into their respective fuzzy soft sets. The third coinponent determines indispensable parameters and perforins parameter reduction. The fourth component performs risk analysis by using algorithm. | 19 | Experimental and DFT Studies of Au Deposition Over WO_(3)/g-C_(3)N_(4) Z-Scheme Heterojunction显示文摘A typical Z-scheme system is composed of two photocatalysts which generate two sets of charge carriers and split water into H2 and O2 at different locations.Scientists are struggling to enhance the efficiencies of these systems by maximizing their light absorption,engineering more stable redox couples,and discovering new O2 and H2 evolutions co-catalysts.In this work,Au decorated WO3/g-C3N4 Z-scheme nanocomposites are fabricated via wet-chemical and photo-deposition methods.The nanocomposites are utilized in photocatalysis for H2 production and 2,4-dichlorophenol(2,4-DCP)degradation.It is investigated that the optimized 4Au/6%WO3/CN nanocomposite is highly efficient for production of 69.9 and 307.3μmol h−1 g−1 H2 gas,respectively,under visible-light(λ>420 nm)and UV–visible illumination.Further,the fabricated 4Au/6%WO3/CN nanocomposite is significant(i.e.,100%degradation in 2 h)for 2,4-DCP degradation under visible light and highly stable in photocatalysis.A significant 4.17%quantum efficiency is recorded for H2 production at wavelength 420 nm.This enhanced performance is attributed to the improved charge separation and the surface plasmon resonance effect of Au nanoparticles.Solid-state density functional theory simulations are performed to countercheck and validate our experimental data.Positive surface formation energy,high charge transfer,and strong non-bonding interaction via electrostatic forces confirm the stability of 4Au/6%WO3/CN interface. | Muhammad Humayun Habib Ullah Junhao Cao Wenbo Pi Yang Yuan Sher Ali Asif Ali Tahir Pang Yue Abbas Khan Zhiping Zheng Qiuyun Fu Wei Luo | 2020 | Nano-Micro Letters2020,12,1: | 1 |
