| 1 | 42,573 cases of hepatectomy in China: a multicenter retrospective investigation显示文摘Hepatectomy is currently routinely performed in most hospitals in China. China owns the largest population of liver diseases and the biggest number of liver resection cases. A nationwide multicenter retrospective investigation involving 112 hospitals was performed, and focused on liver resection for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC). 42,573 cases of hepatectomy were enrolled, and 18,275 valid cases of liver resection for HCC patients were selected for statistical analysis. The epidemiology of HCC, distribution of hepatectomy, postoperative complications and prognosis were finally analyzed. In the 18,275 HCC patients,81% had hepatitis B virus infection and 10% had hepatitis C virus infection. 38% of the HCC patients had normal Alphafetoprotein(AFP) level, and other 35% had an AFP level lower than 400 ng mL^(-1). In the study period, 97% of the hepatectomy for HCC were treated with open surgery, and 23.81% had vascular exclusion techniques. The operation time was(191.7±105.6) min,the blood loss was(546.0±562.8) m L, and blood transfusion was(543.0±1,035.2) m L. The median survival for HCC patients was 631 days, with 1-, 3-, and 5-year overall survival of 73.2%, 28.8% and 19.6%, respectively. | 2 | The Relationship between Jurassic Coal Measures and Sandstone-type Uranium Deposits in the Northeastern Ordos Basin,China显示文摘Outcrop and drill hole data show that the Jurassic coal measures in the northeastern Ordos Basin are composed mainly of the Yan'an Formation and the lowstand system tract of the Zhiluo Formation,and there is a regional unconformity between them. The Dongsheng uranium deposit is associated with the Jurassic coal measures. Research data indicate that the Jurassic coal measures in the study area have a certain hydrocarbon-generating capacity,although the metamorphic grade is low(Ro=0.40%–0.58%). In the Dongsheng region alone,the accumulative amount of generated coalbed methane(CBM) is about 2028.29 × 108 –2218.72 × 108 m^3; the residual amount is about 50.92 × 108 m^3,and the lost amount is about 1977 × 108 m^3. Analysis of the burial history of the host rocks and the evolutionary history of the Dongsheng uranium deposit suggests that the Jurassic coal measures generated hydrocarbon mainly from Middle Jurassic to Early Crataceous,which is the main mineralization phase of the Dongsheng uranium deposit. By the Late Cretaceous,a mass of CBM dissipated due to the strong tectonic uplift,and the Dongsheng uranium deposit stepped into the preservation phase. Therefore,the low-mature hydrocarbon-containing fluid in the Jurassic coal measures not only served as a reducing agent for the formation of sandstone-type uranium deposits,but also rendered the second reduction of paleo-interlayer oxidation zone and become the primary reducing agent for ore conservation. Regional strata correlation reveals that the sandstone-type uranium reservoir at the bottom of the Zhiluo Formation is in contact with the underlying industrial coal seams in the Yan'an Formation through incision or in the form of an unconformity surface. | 3 | EW-trending uplifts along the southern side of the central segment of the Altyn Tagh Fault, NW China: Insight into the rising mechanism of the Altyn Mountain during the Cenozoic显示文摘The Altyn Tagh Fault and the Altyn Mountain define respectively the tectonic and geographical northern edges of the Tibetan Plateau, and figure prominently in the growth and rising mechanism of the plateau. The rhombus-shaped Altyn Mountain has long been thought to have an intimate relation with the Altyn Tagh Fault; however, its formation mechanism remains unclear and debatable. In this paper, we focus on the EW-trending uplifts in the Altyn Mountain, and investigated three Cenozoic sedimentary sections in the vicinity of the EW-trending uplifts located along the southern side of the central segment of the Altyn Tagh Fault. Magnetostratigraphy and pollen analysis were used to constrain ages of the sediments. Clast composition of conglomerate and paleocurrents obtained from clast imbrications were applied to determine the provenance. We also established a geological section parallel to the Altyn Tagh Fault on sedimentary facies across the northwestern Qaidam Basin. The results indicate that these en-echelon EW-trending uplifts formed as early as ca. 36 Ma and were preferred to be under the control of basal shear of the Altyn Tagh Fault in the middle-lower crust, symbolizing the early uplift of the Altyn Mountain during the Cenozoic. | 6 | Comparison of anti-atherosclerotic effects of two different extracts from leaves of Mallotus furetianus显示文摘Objective:To compare the anti-atherosclerotic effects of two different extracts from the leaves of Mallotus fiiretianus by using rat model of atherosclerosis.Methods:The air-flriefl powdered Mallotus fiiretianus leaves were extracted with ethanol and then evaporated.The ethanol extract was experienced Diaion HP-20 CC with a gradient of MeOH and H2O(50:50,100:0,v/v) and two fractions,Mallotus fiiretianus A(Mf A) and Mallotus fiiretianus B(MfB) were obtained.RaLs were divided into control,atherosclerosis and vitamin E,Mf A and Mf B treated groups.Atherosclerotic model was established by administering u loading dose of vitamin D3 and feeding standard diet enriched with 2%cholesterol,0.5%porcine chelate,0.2%methimazole,5%sugar,10%pork fat. Vitamin E(0.20 g/kg),Mf A(0.053 g/kg),Mf B(0.057 g/kg)(with the potential) were administered to interfere with the development of atherosclerosis.After 9 weeks,rats were sacrificed and the blood lipid as well as composition of bile was examined.In addition,the thoracic aorta was harvested to evaluate histological changes and the intima-media thickness ratio.Results: Atherosclerosis model was successfully established,administration of vitamin E,Mf A and Mf B increased excretion of total bilirubin in bile,decreased triglycridc(TO),total cholesterol(TC), low density lipoprotein-cholesterol(LDL-C) level,enhanced ratio of high density lipoprotein-cholesterol and LDL-C in blood,improved histological changes and diminished intimamedia thickness ratio of thoracic aorta in atherosclerotic rats.As for the difference in antiatherosclerotic effects between Mf A and MfB,Mf A may be more powerful in declining TG level and Mf B may be more effective in decreasing TC level.Conclusions:The two different extracts. | 8 | Mutation profile and its correlation with clinicopathology in Chinese hepatocellular carcinoma patients显示文摘Background:Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is one of the most common causes of cancer worldwide.Although many studies have focused on oncogene characteristics,the genomic landscape of Chinese HCC patients has not been fully clarified.Methods:A total of 165 HCC patients,including 146 males and 19 females,were enrolled.The median age was 55 years(range,27-78 years).Corresponding clinical and pathological information was collected for further analysis.A total of 168 tumor tissues from these patients were selected for next-generation sequencing(NGS)-based 450 panel gene sequencing.Genomic alterations including single nucleotide variations(SNV),short and long insertions and deletions(InDels),copy number variations,and gene rearrangements were analyzed.Tumor mutational burden(TMB)was measured by an algorithm developed in-house.The top quartile of HCC was classified as TMB high.Results:A total of 1,004 genomic alterations were detected from 258 genes in 168 HCC tissues.TMB values were identified in 160 HCC specimens,with a median TMB of 5.4 Muts/Mb(range,0-28.4 Muts/Mb)and a 75%TMB of 7.7 Muts/Mb.The most commonly mutated genes were TP53,TERT,CTNNB1,AXIN1,RB1,TSC2,CCND1,ARID1A,and FGF19.SNV was the most common mutation type and C:G>T:A and guanine transformation were the most common SNVs.Compared to wild-type patients,the proportion of Edmondson grade III-IV and microvascular invasion was significantly higher in TP53 mutated patients(P<0.05).The proportion of tumors invading the hepatic capsule was significantly higher in TERT mutated patients(P<0.05).The proportion of Edmondson grade I-II,alpha fetoprotein(AFP)<25μmg/L,and those without a history of hepatitis B was significantly higher in CTNNB1 mutated patients(P<0.05).CTNNB1 mutations were associated with TMB high in HCC patients(P<0.05).Based on correlation analysis,the mutation of TP53 was independently correlated with microvascular invasion(P=0.002,OR=3.096)and Edmondson grade III-IV(P=0.008,OR=2.613).The mutation of TERT was independently correlated with tumor invasion of the liver capsule(P=0.001,OR=3.030),and the mutation of CTNNB1 was independently correlated with AFP(<25μmg/L)(P=0.009,OR=3.414).Conclusions:The most frequently mutated genes of HCC patients in China were TP53,TERT,and CTNNB1,which mainly lead to the occurrence and development of HCC by regulating the P53 pathway,Wnt pathway,and telomere repair pathway.There were more patients with microvascular invasion and Edmondson III-IV grade in TP53 mutated patients and more patients with hepatic capsule invasion in TERT mutated patients,while in CTNNB1 mutated patients,there were more patients with Edmondson I-II grade,AFP<25μmg/L,and a non-hepatitis B background.Also,the TMB values were significantly higher in CTNNB1 mutated patients than in wild type patients. | Shuo Wang Huasheng Shi Tao Liu Manjiang Li Sanshun Zhou Xuan Qiu Zusen Wang Weiyu Hu Weidong Guo Xiaoqian Chen Honglin Guo Xiaoliang Shi Junping Shi Yunjin Zang Jingyu Cao Liqun Wu | 2021 | Hepatobiliary Surgery and Nutrition2021,10,2: | 8 |
| 9 | Cenozoic tectonic and sedimentary evolution of southern Qaidam Basin, NE Tibetan Plateau and its implication for the rejuvenation of Eastern Kunlun Mountains显示文摘The Eastern Kunlun Mountains play an important role in the growth and eastward extrusion of the Tibetan Plateau. Tectonic and sedimentary study of the Cenozoic Qaidam Basin, especially the southern part, provides key evidence for understanding their evolution. Here we present evidence including isopach maps, seismic sections and sedimentary analysis of single well to illustrate the sedimentary development of the basin and the structural features of its southern margin. The Qaidam Basin extended across Qiman Tagh-Eastern Kunlun Mountains in the early Cenozoic and withdrew northward at ca. 35.5 Ma, and then buckled as an EW striking elliptical depression since ca. 14.9 Ma, with the main depocenter migrating eastward. | 11 | Relations of Uranium Enrichment and Carbonaceous Debris within the Daying Uranium Deposit, Northern Ordos Basin显示文摘Carbonaceous debris(CD)is widely distributed in the sandstone of the Daying Uranium Deposit,northern Ordos Basin,and coexists with uranium minerals,which provides a favorable case for studying their relationship.Vitrinite reflectance(VR),macerals,moisture,volatile matter,ash,total sulfur(S_t)and uranium concentration of CD within the sandstone were studied.The results show that VR ranges from 0.372%Ro to 0.510%Ro with an average value of 0.438%Ro,indicating that CD is in the stage of lignite.The contents of vitrinite(V),inertinite(I)and minerals range from 83.18%–99.48%,0–7.70%,and 0.34%–15.72%,respectively,with the corresponding average value of 95.51%,1.34%,and 3.15%,respectively which indicates that V is the major maceral.Moisture on air dried basis(M_(ad)),volatile matter yield on dry,ash-free basis(V_(daf)),ash yield on dried basis(A_d)and S_t mostly range from 7.95%–16.09%,44.70%–66.54%,4.84%–26.24% and 0.24%–1.12%,respectively,while their average values are 12.43%,53.41%,16.57% and 0.77%,respectively.It suggests that CD is of medium-high moisture,super-high volatile matter,low-medium ash and low sulfur.Uranium concentration ranges from 29 ppm to 92 ppm with an average value of 50 ppm,and uranium concentration increases with the decreased distance to CD.On the whole,M_(ad )and V_(daf) decrease with increasing burial depth,which indicates that CD experienced the burial metamorphism.However,M_(ad) and V_(daf) obviously decrease in uranium-rich areas whereas A_d and S_(t )noticeably increase.Comprehensive studies suggest that there is a certain relationship between uranium enrichment and CD.CD in the stage of lignite helps the adsorption of uranium.On one hand,radioactivity uranium enrichment makes organic matter maturation increase with a decrease in moisture and volatile matter.On the other hand,an increase in organic matter maturation,caused by radioactivity uranium enrichment,results in an increase in uranium minerals,which is instructive in the study of regional uranium mineralization and metallogenic regularity. | Fan Zhang Yangquan Jiao Liqun Wu Hui Rong Longhui Wang | 2019 | Journal of Earth Science2019,30,1: | 6 |

| 13 | Effects of different tillage and straw retention practices on soil aggregates and carbon and nitrogen sequestration in soils of the northwestern China显示文摘Soil tillage and straw retention in dryland areas may affect the soil aggregates and the distribution of total organic carbon. The aims of this study were to establish how different tillage and straw retention practices affect the soil aggregates and soil organic carbon(SOC) and total nitrogen(TN) contents in the aggregate fractions based on a long-term(approximately 15 years) field experiment in the semi-arid western Loess Plateau, northwestern China. The experiment included four soil treatments, i.e., conventional tillage with straw removed(T), conventional tillage with straw incorporated(TS), no tillage with straw removed(NT) and no tillage with straw retention(NTS), which were arranged in a complete randomized block design. The wet-sieving method was used to separate four size fractions of aggregates, namely, large macroaggregates(LA, >2000 μm), small macroaggregates(SA, 250–2000 μm), microaggregates(MA, 53–250 μm), and silt and clay(SC, <53 μm). Compared to the conventional tillage practices(including T and TS treatments), the percentages of the macroaggregate fractions(LA and SA) under the conservation tillage practices(including NT and NTS treatments) were increased by 41.2%–56.6%, with the NTS treatment having the greatest effect. For soil layers of 0–5, 5–10 and 10–30 cm, values of the mean weight diameter(MWD) under the TS and NTS treatments were 10.68%, 13.83% and 17.65%, respectively. They were 18.45%, 19.15% and 14.12% higher than those under the T treatment, respectively. The maximum contents of the aggregate-associated SOC and TN were detected in the SA fraction, with the greatest effect being observed for the NTS treatment. The SOC and TN contents were significantly higher under the NTS and TS treatments than under the T treatment. Also, the increases in SOC and TN levels were much higher in the straw-retention plots than in the straw-removed plots. The macroaggregates(including LA and SA fractions) were the major pools for SOC and TN, regardless of tillage practices, storing 3.25–6.81 g C/kg soil and 0.34–0.62 g N/kg soil. | 14 | Architectural Units and Groundwater Resource Quantity Evaluation of Cretaceous Sandstones in the Ordos Basin,China显示文摘Sandstone is a common lithology in a number of groundwater reservoirs. Studying the skeleton sandstone architectural units, therefore, lays the basis for characterizing aquifer systems, groundwater quality, and resource evaluation. This comprehensive analysis of Cretaceous aquiferous sandstones in the Ordos basin, China, shows that there exists a basin-scale skeleton sandstone in the Luohe Formation which contains 11 isolated barrier beds, 12 small skeleton sandstone bodies in Huanhe Formation, and 3 in the Luohandong Formation. The spatial structure and superimposed relationship as well as the medium properties of these skeleton sandstones and isolated barrier beds can be shown by 3D visualization models. Simultaneously, resource quantity can be evaluated with the 3D inquiry functions. The comparison between property models and structural models indicates that the salinity of groundwater of the Luohe Formation has a close connection with the locations of isolated barrier beds that contain abundant gypsum. | 16 | Occurrence, thermal evolution and primary migration processes derived from studies of organic matter in the Lucaogou source rock at the southern margin of the Junggar Basin, NW China显示文摘The Lucaogou Formation carbonate-rich oil shale source rock is exposed at the southern margin of the Junggar Basin, Xinjiang, NW China. We have sampled it in detail and conducted microstructural, mineralogical and geochemical studies, including thin section petrography, UV fluorescence petrography, X-ray diffraction, vitrinite reflectance, bitumen reflectance, fluid inclusion analysis and Raman spectroscopy. Organic matter is disseminated through the carbonate-bearing siltstone source rocks and concentrated in numerous bedding parallel stylolites and in two sets of carbonate veins, one along bedding parallel fractures and the other cross-cutting stylolites and bedding. The research about maturity of organic matter finds vitrinite reflectance values increase from the dispersed kerogen (0.64%) to the stylolites (the one of oriented vitrinite is 0.72% and the one of migrated bitumen is 2.38%); Homogenization temperatures of fluid inclusions in veins containing hydrocarbon fluid inclusions show an increase from 178.5℃ in the bedding parallel veins to 222℃ in the cross-cutting veins, confirmed by Raman spectroscopy. These results support a model of progressive heating accompanied by fluid loss during later stages of thermal maturation of source rock and the onset of primary migration. Obviously, the occurrence of organic matter is the trace of hydrocarbon primary migration, and the bedding lamination surfaces and cross-cutting fissures are the principal pathways of hydrocarbon-bearing fluids migration. | 17 | Comparative study of the effects of Danhong injection with different doses on ischemic stroke: A substudy of hospital-based Danhong injection registry显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To compare the effects of Danhong injection(DHI) with different doses on ischemic stroke.METHODS: Chinese hospital registered DHI study is a perspective observational study, in which a total of 1292 patients with ischemic stroke were treated with DHI. Two different doses of DHI were used in the present study. The patients were matched by acute phase of ischemic stroke(within 2 weeks after onset), partial anterior circulation infraction, sex, age, and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS) score. Finally 148 patients were grouped into the 20 or 40 mL DHI group with 74 in each. The primary endpoint was the improvement of NIHSS score at 14-day after treatment.RESULTS: Of the 148 patients with ischemic stroke,the 74 in the 40 mL DHI group had clinically important improvements in the NIHSS score. The baseline and 14-day NIHSS score for the 40 mL DHI group were 6.6 ± 4.3 and 2.4 ± 2.5 respectively, versus 6.3± 5.7 and 3.6 ± 4.2, for the 20 mL DHI group(change from baseline in the 40 mL DHI group vs change from baseline in the 20 mL DHI group,-1.49points; P = 0.029). Improvements were maintained after the baseline characteristics and other drugs were controlled(P = 0.012). | 18 | B7-DC (PD-L2) costimulation of CD4^(+) T-helper 1 response via RGMb显示文摘The role of B7-DC in T-cell responses remains controversial because both coinhibitory and costimulatory functions have been reported in various experimental systems in vitro and in vivo.In addition to interacting with the coinhibitory receptor PD-1,B7-DC has also been shown to bind repulsive guidance molecule b(RGMb).The functional consequences of the B7-DC/RGMb interaction,however,remain unclear.More than a decade ago,we reported that replacement of a murine B7-DC mutant lysine with serine(K113S)at positive 113 resulted in a loss of binding capacity to PD-1.Nevertheless,K113S remained costimulatory for T cells in vitro,implicating a dual functionality for B7-DC in T-cell responses.Here we show that recombinant K113S protein interacts with RGMb with a similar affinity to wild-type B7-DC.More importantly,K113S costimulates CD4^(+)T-cell responses via RGMb and promotes Th1 polarization.RGMb is expressed on the surface of naive mouse T cells,macrophages,neutrophils and dendritic cells.Finally,K113S/RGMb costimulation suppresses Th2-mediated asthma and ameliorates small airway inflammation and lung pathology in an experimental mouse model.Our findings indicate that RGMb is a costimulatory receptor for B7-DC.These findings from the K113S variant provide not only a possible explanation for the B7-DC-triggered contradictory effects on T-cell responses,but also a novel approach to investigate the B7-DC/PD-1/RGMb axis.Recombinant K113S or its derivatives could potentially be developed as an agonist for RGMb to costimulate the Th1 response without triggering PD-1-mediated T-cell inhibition. | Xinxin Nie Wenni Chen Ying Zhu Baozhu Huang Weiwei Yu Zhanshuai Wu Sizheng Guo Yiping Zhu Liqun Luo Shengdian Wang Lieping Chen | 2018 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2018,15,10: | 3 |
