| 1 | Developing plate tectonics theory from oceanic subduction zones to collisional orogens显示文摘Crustal subduction and continental collision is the core of plate tectonics theory. Understanding the formation and evolution of continental collision orogens is a key to develop the theory of plate tectonics. Different types of subduction zones have been categorized based on the nature of subducted crust. Two types of collisional orogens, i.e. arc-continent and continent-continent collisional orogens, have been recognized based on the nature of collisional blocks and the composition of derivative rocks. Arc-continent collisional orogens contain both ancient and juvenile crustal rocks, and reworking of those rocks at the post-collisional stage generates magmatic rocks with different geochemical compositions. If an orogen is built by collision between two relatively old continental blocks, post-collisional magmatic rocks are only derived from reworking of the old crustal rocks. Collisional orogens undergo reactivation and reworking at action of lithosphere extension, with inheritance not only in the tectonic regime but also in the geochemical compositions of reworked products(i.e., magmatic rocks). In order to unravel basic principles for the evolution of continental tectonics at the post-collisional stages, it is necessary to investigate the reworking of orogenic belts in the post-collisional regime, to recognize physicochemical differences in deep continental collision zones, and to understand petrogenetic links between the nature of subducted crust and post-collisional magmatic rocks. | 2 | 42,573 cases of hepatectomy in China: a multicenter retrospective investigation显示文摘Hepatectomy is currently routinely performed in most hospitals in China. China owns the largest population of liver diseases and the biggest number of liver resection cases. A nationwide multicenter retrospective investigation involving 112 hospitals was performed, and focused on liver resection for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC). 42,573 cases of hepatectomy were enrolled, and 18,275 valid cases of liver resection for HCC patients were selected for statistical analysis. The epidemiology of HCC, distribution of hepatectomy, postoperative complications and prognosis were finally analyzed. In the 18,275 HCC patients,81% had hepatitis B virus infection and 10% had hepatitis C virus infection. 38% of the HCC patients had normal Alphafetoprotein(AFP) level, and other 35% had an AFP level lower than 400 ng mL^(-1). In the study period, 97% of the hepatectomy for HCC were treated with open surgery, and 23.81% had vascular exclusion techniques. The operation time was(191.7±105.6) min,the blood loss was(546.0±562.8) m L, and blood transfusion was(543.0±1,035.2) m L. The median survival for HCC patients was 631 days, with 1-, 3-, and 5-year overall survival of 73.2%, 28.8% and 19.6%, respectively. | 4 | Recanalization of extracranial internal carotid artery occlusion A 12-year retrospective study显示文摘This study aimed to summarize therapy experience of carotid endarterectomy, carotid endarterec-tomy combined with Fogarty catheter embolectomy, and hybrid surgery for the treatment of extrac-ranial internal carotid artery occlusion. The study included 65 patients with extracranial internal ca-rotid artery occlusion who underwent carotid endarterectomy, carotid endarterectomy combined with Fogarty catheter embolectomy, or hybrid surgery in the Department of Neurosurgery, Xuanwu Hospital, Capital Medical University, China between January 2006 and December 2012. Prior to surgery, all patients underwent perfusion CT or xenon CT to evaluate the occlusion. The procedure for each patient was chosen according to digital subtraction angiography data. The carotid artery was successfully recanalized in 46 of 51 patients who underwent carotid endarterectomy, 9 of 10 patients who underwent carotid endarterectomy combined with Fogarty catheter embolectomy, and 3 of 4 patients who underwent hybrid surgery. | 7 | Xuebijing injection alleviates liver injury by inhibiting secretory function of Kupffer cells in heat stroke rats显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the effects of Xuebijing(XBJ) injection in heat stroke(HS) rats and to investigate the mechanisms underlying these effects.METHODS:Sixty anesthetized rats were randomized into three groups and intravenously injected twice daily for 3 days with 4 mL XBJ(XBJ group) or phosphate buffered saline(HS and Sham groups) per kg body weight.HS was initiated in the HS and XBJ groups by placing rats in a simulated climate chamber(ambient temperature 40 ℃,humidity 60%).Rectal temperature,aterial pressure,and heart rate were monitored and recorded.Time to HS onset and survival were determined,and serum concentrations of tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-α,inRESULTS:Time to HS onset and survival were significantly longer in the XBJ than in the HS group.Moreover,the concentrations of TNF-α,IL-1β,IL-6,ALT and AST were lower and liver injury was milder in the XBJ than in the HS group.Heat-stress induced structural changes in KCs and hepatic cells were more severe in the HS than in the XBJ group and the concentrations of TNF-α,IL-β and IL-6 secreted by KCs were lower in the XBJ than in the HS group.CONCLUSION:XBJ can alleviate HS-induced systemic inflammatory response syndrome and liver injury in rats,and improve outcomes.These protective effects may be due to the ability of XBJ to inhibit cytokine secretion by KCs. | Yi Chen Huasheng Tong Xingqin Zhang Liqun Tang Zhiguo Pan Zhifeng Liu Pengkai Duan Lei Su | 2013 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2013,33,2: | 14 |

| 9 | Impacts of Climatic Factors on Runoff Coefficients in Source Regions of the Huanghe River显示文摘Runoff coefficients of the source regions of the Huanghe River in 1956–2000 were analyzed in this paper. In the 1990s runoff of Tangnaihai Hydrologic Station of the Huanghe River experienced a serious decrease, which had at- tracted considerable attention. Climate changes have important impact on the water resources availability. From the view of water cycling, runoff coefficients are important indexes of water resources in a particular catchment. Kalinin baseflow separation technique was improved based on the characteristics of precipitation and streamflow. After the separation of runoff coefficient (R/P), baseflow coefficient (Br/P) and direct runoff coefficient (Dr/P) were estimated. Statistic analyses were applied to assessing the impact of precipitation and temperature on runoff coefficients (including Dr/P, Br/P and R/P). The results show that in the source regions of the Huanghe River, mean annual baseflow coefficient was higher than mean annual direct runoff coefficient. Annual runoff coefficients were in direct proportion to annual pre- cipitation and in inverse proportion to annual mean temperature. The decrease of runoff coefficients in the 1990s was closely related to the decrease in precipitation and increase in temperature in the same period. Over different sub-basins of the source regions of the Huanghe River, runoff coefficients responded differently to precipitation and temperature. In the area above Jimai Hydrologic Station where annual mean temperature is –3.9oC, temperature is the main factor in- fluencing the runoff coefficients. Runoff coefficients were in inverse relation to temperature, and precipitation had nearly no impact on runoff coefficients. In subbasin between Jimai and Maqu Hydrologic Station Dr/P was mainly affected by precipitation while R/P and Br/P were both significantly influenced by precipitation and temperature. In the area be-tween Maqu and Tangnaihai hydrologic stations all the three runoff coefficients increased with the rising of annual precipitation, while direct runoff coefficient was inversely proportional to temperature. The whole-spacecraft vibration attenuation system can effectively reduce vibration and achieve self-tuning enhanced energy harvesting range. The open-circuit voltage generated at low frequency is affected by the magnetic field force, alternating magnetic field and relative displacement. In order to acquire a steady periodic solution of the energy harvesting system, a combination of the harmonic balance method and pseudo arc length continuation technique is used.The numerical outcomes are consistent with the analytical outcomes in a certain range, which also proves the accuracy and reliability of the results. The amplitude and voltage of the energy harvesting system are analyzed by parameters such as cubic stiffness, viscous damping, and external excitation acceleration. Here we show that the M2 isoform of pyruvate kinase (PKM2), one of the rate-limiting enzymes in glycolysis, interacts with mitofusin 2 (MFN2), a key regulator of mitochondrial fusion, to promote mitochondrial fusion and OXPHOS, and attenuate glycolysis. mTOR increases the PKM2:MFN2 interaction by phosphorylating MFN2 and thereby modulates the effect of PKM2: MFN2 on glycolysis, mitochondrial fusion and OXPHOS. | 17 | Nonlinear dynamics of axially moving viscoelastic Timoshenko beam under parametric and external excitations显示文摘This investigation focuses on the nonlinear dynamic behaviors in the transverse vibration of an axially accelerating viscoelastic Timoshenko beam with the external harmonic excitation. The parametric excitation is caused by the harmonic fluctuations of the axial moving speed. An integro-partial-differential equation governing the transverse vibration of the Timoshenko beam is established. Many factors are considered, such as viscoelasticity, the finite axial support rigidity, and the longitudinally varying tension due to the axial acceleration. With the Galerkin truncation method, a set of nonlinear ordinary differential equations are derived by discretizing the governing equation. Based on the numerical solutions, the bifurcation diagrams are presented to study the effect of the external transverse excitation. Moreover, the frequencies of the two excitations are assumed to be multiple. Further, five different tools, including the time history, the Poincar′e map, and the sensitivity to initial conditions, are used to identify the motion form of the nonlinear vibration. | 18 | Risk analysis for the highly pathogenic avian influenza in China's Mainland using meta-modeling显示文摘A logistic model was employed to correlate the outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) with related environmental factors and the migration of birds. Based on MODIS data of the normalized difference vegetation index, environmental factors were considered in generating a probability map with the aid of logistic regression. A Bayesian maximum entropy model was employed to explore the spatial and temporal correlations of HPAI incidence. The results show that proximity to water bodies and national highways was statistically relevant to the occurrence of HPAI. Migratory birds, mainly waterfowl, were important infection sources in HPAI transmission. In addition, the HPAI outbreaks had high spatiotemporal autocorrelation. This epidemic spatial range fluctuated 45 km owing to different distribution patterns of cities and water bodies. Furthermore, two outbreaks were likely to occur with a period of 22 d. | 20 | Heterogeneous parallel computing accelerated iterative subpixel digital image correlation显示文摘Parallel computing techniques have been introduced into digital image correlation(DIC) in recent years and leads to a surge in computation speed. The graphics processing unit(GPU)-based parallel computing demonstrated a surprising effect on accelerating the iterative subpixel DIC, compared with CPU-based parallel computing. In this paper, the performances of the two kinds of parallel computing techniques are compared for the previously proposed path-independent DIC method, in which the initial guess for the inverse compositional Gauss-Newton(IC-GN) algorithm at each point of interest(POI) is estimated through the fast Fourier transform-based cross-correlation(FFT-CC) algorithm. Based on the performance evaluation, a heterogeneous parallel computing(HPC) model is proposed with hybrid mode of parallelisms in order to combine the computing power of GPU and multicore CPU. A scheme of trial computation test is developed to optimize the configuration of the HPC model on a specific computer.
