1What is going on in magnesium alloys?显示文摘China has been developed into one of the most active regions in terms of both fundamental and applied research on magnesium(Mg) and its alloys in the world from a solid base laid by its prominent metallurgist and materials scientists over the past decades. Nowadays, a large number of young-generation researchers have been inspired by their predecessors and become the key participants in the fields of Mg alloys, which consequently led to the establishment of China Youth Scholar Society for Magnesium Alloys Research in 2015. Since then, the first two China Youth Scholars Symposiums on Mg Alloys Research had been held at Harbin(2015) and Chongqing(2016) China, respectively. A number of crucial research interests related to fundamental and applied Mg research were discussed at the conferences and summarized in this short perspective, aiming to boost far-reaching initiatives for development of new Mg-based materials to satisfy the requirements for a broad range of industrial employments. Herein, four main aspects are included as follows: i) Plastic deformation mechanism and strengthening strategy, ii) Design and development of new Mg-based materials, iii) Key service properties, and iv) New processing technologies.X.J. 2Effect of scanning strategy on grain structure and crystallographic texture of Inconel 718 processed by selective laser melting显示文摘Two types of scanning strategies were adopted to study the effect of scanning strategy on grain structure and crystallographic texture of selective laser melted(SLM) Inconel 718. The results show that bidirectional scanning without and with a 90?-rotation for every layer produced the bimodal grain structure and the directional columnar grain structure, respectively. Controlling the heat flux direction between the successive layers via scanning strategy enabled the formation of such different grain structures. 3A DUAL COUPLED METHOD FOR BOUNDARY VALUE PROBLEMS OF PDE WITH COEFFICIENTS OF SMALL PERIOD显示文摘In this paper the homogenization method is improved to develop one kind ofdual coupled approximate method, which reflects both the macro-scope propertiesof whole structure and its loadings, and micro-scope configuration properties ofcomposite materials. The boundary value problem of woven membrane is con-sidered, the dual asymptotic expression of the exact solution is given, and itsapproximation and error estimation are discussed. 4INVESTIGATION OF LASER BEAM WELDING PROCESS OF AZ61 MAGNESIUM-BASED ALLOY显示文摘Laser welding process of AZ61 magnesium alloys is investigated using a special CO2 laser experimental system. The effect of processing parameters including laser power, welding speed, and protection gas flow at the top and bottom is researched. The results show that an ideal weld bead can be formed by choosing the processing parameters properly. An optimized parameter range is obtained by a large number of experiments. Among them, laser power and welding speed are the two main parameters that determine the weld width and dimensions. The protect gas flow rate has a slight effect on the weld width, but it directly effects the surface color of the weld. The test results for typical welds indicate that the microhardness and tensile strength of the weld zone are better than that of the base metal. A fine-grained weld region has been observed and no obvious heat-affected zone is found. The weld zone mainly consists of small |á-Mg phase, (|á+ Al12Mg17), and other eutectic phases. The small grains and the eutectic phases in the joint are believed to play an important role in the increase of the strength of welds for AZ61 magnesium alloys.H.Y. Wang Z.J. 10Improving the hard magnetic properties by intragrain pinning for Ta doped nanocrystalline Ce-Fe-B alloys显示文摘To develop Ce based permanent magnets with high performance/cost ratio, Ta doping is was employed to enhance the magnetic performance of Ce-Fe-B alloys. For melt spun Cei7Fe78-xTaxB6 (x = 0-1) alloys, the coercivity Hc increases from 439 to 553 kA/m with increasing x value from 0 to 0.75. Microstructure characterizations indicate that Ta doping is helpful for grain refinement. A second phase of TaB2 is observed in Ce17Fe77.25Tao.75B6 alloy, which acts as the pinning center of the magnetic domains, resulting in the change of coercivity mechanism from nucleation type to nucleation +pinning type. The micromagnetic simulation confirms that non-magnetic particles within hard magnetic phase can increase the demagnetization field around them and it is crucial for preventing the further magnetization reverse by pinning effect. Take the advantage of Ta doping for enhancing the coercivity, Ce content of Ce-Fe-B alloy can be further cut down to increase the remanence Jr due to the reduced volume fraction of CeFe2 phase and increased Fe/Ce ratio. As a result, a good combination of magnetic properties with Hc = 514 kA/m, Jr = 0.49 T, and the maximum energy product (BH)max = 36 kJ/m^3 have been obtained in Ce15Fe79.25Tao.75B6 alloy.
