1PERSPECTIVES IN MECHANICS OF HETEROGENEOUS SOLIDS显示文摘The Microand Nano-mechanics Working Group of the Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics organized a forum to discuss the perspectives,trends,and directions in mechanics of heterogeneous materials in January 2010.The international journal,Acta Mechanica Solida Sinica,is devoted to all fields of solid mechanics and relevant disciplines in science,technology,and engineering,with a balanced coverage on analytical,experimental,numerical and applied investigations.On the occasion of the 30 th anniversary of Acta Mechanica Solida Sinica,its editor-in-chief,Professor Q.S.Zheng invited some of the forum participants to review the state-of-the-art of mechanics of heterogeneous solids,with a particular emphasis on the recent research development results of Chinese scientists.Their reviews are organized into five research areas as reported in different sections of this paper.§I firstly brings in focus on microand nano-mechanics,with regards to several selective topics,including multiscale coupled models and computational methods,nanocrystal superlattices,surface effects,micromechanical damage mechanics,and microstructural evolution of metals and shape memory alloys.§II shows discussions on multifield coupled mechanical phenomena,e.g.,multi-fields actuations of liquid crystal polymer networks,mechanical behavior of materials under radiations,and micromechanics of heterogeneous materials.In §III,we mainly address the multiscale mechanics of biological nanocomposites,biological adhesive surface mechanics,wetting and dewetting phenomena on microstructured solid surfaces.The phononic crystals and manipulation of elastic waves were elaborated in §IV.Finally,we conclude with a series of perspectives on solid mechanics.This review will set a primary goal of future science research and engineering application on solid mechanics with the effort of social and economic development.C.Q. 2A DUAL COUPLED METHOD FOR BOUNDARY VALUE PROBLEMS OF PDE WITH COEFFICIENTS OF SMALL PERIOD显示文摘In this paper the homogenization method is improved to develop one kind ofdual coupled approximate method, which reflects both the macro-scope propertiesof whole structure and its loadings, and micro-scope configuration properties ofcomposite materials. The boundary value problem of woven membrane is con-sidered, the dual asymptotic expression of the exact solution is given, and itsapproximation and error estimation are discussed. 4REHEATING TEMPERATURE CONTRAST AND MICROSTRUCTURES OF 7075 Al ALLOY CAST BY LIQUIDUS SEMI-CONTINUOUS CASTING显示文摘In this study, reheating of liquidus semi-continuous east billets of 7075 Al alloy wascarried out in a resistance furnace, and the temperature contrast of the outer andthe center of the reheated billets was investigated, then the reheating microstructureswere investigated. Results show that: the difference of temperature between the outerand center is small and the difference of their microstructures are also small. Dur-ing reheating at 576° C the spheroidization of grains is significant after 5rain and norosettes are visible after 20min by optical microscopy. 8Interfacial bonding mechanism in Al/coated steel dissimilar refill friction stir spot welds显示文摘Defect-free dissimilar Al/zinc coated steel and Al/AlSi coated steel welds were successfully fabricated by refill friction stir spot welding. However, Al alloy and uncoated steel could not be welded under the same welding condition. Al-Zn eutectic layer formed at the Al/zinc coated steel interface showed nonuniformity in thickness and nanoscale intermetallic(IMC) produced was discontinuous. The bonding formation between the Al-Zn layer and the surrounding materials was attributed to a liquid/solid reaction mechanism. Bonding formation at Al alloy and AlSi coated steel interface was attributed to a solid/solid reaction mechanism, as the joining process did not involve with melting of base metals or AlSi coating materials. Kissing bond formed at the weld boundary acted as a crack initiation and propagation site,and the present study showed that weld strength of Al 5754/AlSi coated steel was greatly influenced by properties of original IMC layer.Z. 9THE SUPERPLASTICITY AND DEFORMATION MECHANISM OF ULTRALIGHT BINARY Mg-8wt%Li ALLOY显示文摘The maximum elongation-to-failure of 960% has been achieved in the Mg-8wt%Li alloy. It is shown by measurement of true stress-strain curve and microstructure observation that dynamic recrystallization takes place during superplastic deformation, which turns the banded grains into equiaxed grains. It is postulated by theoretical analysis that during superplastic deformation,continuous introduction of lattice dislocations into the phase interfaces contributes to the superplasticity in this alloy.During superplastic deformation,grain growth and cavity nucleation at α phase grain boundaries have also been observed.F.R. 13Clinical significance of VEGF, ER and AR expression in seminoma显示文摘Objective:To evaluate the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF),estrogen receptor(ER) and androgen receptor(AR) in the genesis and development of seminoma.Methods:The expression of VEGF,ER and AR was assayed by means of immuno-histochemical technique in 16 cases of seminoma and 10 cases of prostatic cancer (Pca).Results:The VEGF expression positive rate was significantly higher(P<0.05) in seminoma than in Pca,being 14/16(87.5%) and (4/10,40%),respectively.The AR expression positive rate was lower(P>0.05) in seminoma (9/16,56.2%) than in Pca(9/10,90%).The ER expression was negative in all the seminoma and Pca patients .Conclusion:In Seminoma,the expression of VEGF is significantly increased,which may play a role in the genesis and development of the neoplasm.J.Z. 14MICROSTRUCTURE AND PROPERTIES OF ZL201 ALLOY OBTAINED BY NEAR-LIQUIDUS ELECTROMAGNETIC CASTING显示文摘The microstructures of 7L201 alloy slurry prepared by near-liquidus electromagnetic casting (NLEMC), electromagnetic casting(EMC), and near-liquidus casting(NLC) were investigated by means of electron microscopy and image analysis. Mechanical properties of as-cast alloys were determined. The results show that the NLEMC induces a fine, uniform, and equiaxed grain struc- ture with a mean equal-area-circle grain diameter of 32.8μm. The as-cast alloy has a hardness of HV122.8 and a tensile strength of 368MPa. Both of them are better than those of the alloys pre- pared by EMC and by NLC. 16RELATIONSHIP AMONG EVAPORATION FLUX OF GROUNDWATER, DEPTH OF WATER TABLE AND NEGATIVE PRESSURE HEAD IN BARE SOIL显示文摘Evaporation of ground water is a part of moisture circulation in the field. And it is a main natural form in which water transmits from the ground water to the soil water and atmosphere water. According to the simulated experiments, we study the relationship among the evaporation, depth of groundwater table and negative pressure. By theoretical analysis of the experimental results, the main conclusions are drawn as follows. There are two abrupt points in every Q H curve. The locations of the abrupt points are separately in step with the height of top of the capillary fringe and the height of maximal capillary rise in the soil section. When the depth of ground water table H is small, the evaporation flux of ground water is large. While the depth of water table exceeds the maximal capillary rise of media in vadose zone, the capillary rise breaks up and evaporation flux of groundwater is small. The water content ratio in ground surface tends to be zero and the surface of soil tends to be drought. These conclusions show that the maximal capillary rise of media in vadose zone is an important value in regulating rational depth of ground water to reduce the evaporation of ground water and to increase effective quantity of water resources. In the meantime, these conclusions are of important theoretical and practical significance to reduce the evaporation of ground water, to prevent and cure the salinization of soil, and to make full use of and protect water resources in the northern plains in China.Qian, J.Z.
