3Magnolol additive as a replacer of antibiotic enhances the growth performance of Linwu ducks显示文摘Magnolol rich in Magnolia officinalis is a bioactive polyphenolic compound. The aim of this study was to examine the effects of magnolol additive(MA) on growth performance, expression levels of antioxidantrelated genes, and intestinal mucosal morphology of Linwu ducks aged from 49 to 70 days, comparing with that of an antibiotic additive(colistin sulfate [CS]). A total of 275,49-day-old ducks were assigned to5 groups with 5 cages of 11 ducks each and fed diets supplemented with 0,100, 200 and 300 mg of MA/kg and 300 mg of CS/kg for 3 weeks, respectively. The results showed that the average daily body weight gain(ADG) was increased significantly in MA-fed groups(200 and 300 mg/kg), compared with the basal diet(BD) group(P < 0.05). The mRNA levels of superoxide dismutase-1(SOD1), manganese superoxide dismutase-2(MnSOD2) and catalase(CAT) were also increased significantly in MA groups(P < 0.05). In addition, hematoxylin and eosin staining revealed that Linwu ducks fed the diets with MA had more intact intestinal mucosa than those fed the BD and CS diets. In addition, ileal villus height, ileal villus height/crypt depth ratio(V/C) and duodenal V/C were also improved significantly(P < 0.05). 4Metabolic Disorders Increase the Risk to Incident Cardiovascular Disease in Middle-aged and Elderly Chinese显示文摘Objective The association of metabolic syndrome (MetS) with cardiovascular diseases (CVD) has not been adequately explored in middle-aged and elderly Chinese.This study aimed to investigate MetS' prevalence and its impact on the CVD incidence in this specific population group.Methods A data set of a community-based prospective cohort study was analyzed.A total of 2300 subjects aged 40-94 years were followed up for the CVD events.MetS defined according to the JCDCG criteria was assessed at baseline,and the middle-aged and elderly groups were classified by the WHO definition.Results As compared with the middle-aged group,the prevalence of MetS increased by 0.6 times (34.6% vs.21.3%) and the incidence density of CVD increased by 4.9 times in the elderly group (52.3/1000 person-year vs.8.9/1000 person-year).Furthermore,the multivariate Cox regression revealed that the risk to CVD incidence was independently related to increased waist circumference in the middle-aged group (HR=2.23,P<0.01) and to elevated blood glucose in the elderly group (HR=1.39,P<0.01).Conclusion MetS was highly prevalent in middle-aged and elderly Chinese.MetS significantly increased the risk to CVD incidence in the elderly.All individuals with metabolic disorders should receive active clinical care to reduce the incidence of CVD.ZHANG Ming Liang HOU Xu Hong ZHU Yun Xia LU Jun Xi PENG Liang Pu GU Hui Lin JIA Wei Ping 2012Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2012,25,1:7
5Autophagy receptor CCDC50 tunes the STING-mediated interferon response in viral infections and autoimmune diseases显示文摘DNA sensing and timely activation of interferon(IFN)-mediated innate immunity are crucial for the defense against DNA virus infections and the clearance of abnormal cells.However,overactivation of immune responses may lead to tissue damage and autoimmune diseases;therefore,these processes must be intricately regulated.STING is the key adaptor protein,which is activated by cyclic GMP-AMP,the second messenger derived from cGAS-mediated DNA sensing.Here,we report that CCDC50,a newly identified autophagy receptor,tunes STING-directed type I IFN signaling activity by delivering K63-polyubiquitinated STING to autolysosomes for degradation.Knockout of CCDC50 significantly increases herpes simplex virus 1(HSV-1)-or DNA ligand-induced production of type I IFN and proinflammatory cytokines.Ccdc50-deficient mice show increased production of IFN,decreased viral replication,reduced cell infiltration,and improved survival rates compared with their wild-type littermates when challenged with HSV-1.Remarkably,the expression of CCDC50 is downregulated in systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE),a chronic autoimmune disease.CCDC50 levels are negatively correlated with IFN signaling pathway activation and disease severity in human SLE patients.CCDC50 deficiency potentiates the cGAS-STING-mediated immune response triggered by SLE serum.Thus,our findings reveal the critical role of CCDC50 in the immune regulation of viral infections and autoimmune diseases and provide insights into the therapeutic implications of CCDC50 manipulation.Panpan Hou Yuxin Lin Zibo Li Ruiqing Lu Yicheng Wang Tian Tian Penghui Jia Xi Zhang Liu Cao Zhongwei Zhou Chunmei Li Jieruo Gu Deyin Guo 2021Cellular & Molecular Immunology2021,18,10:3

13Effect of shrub encroachment on leaf nutrient resorption in temperate wetlands in the Sanjiang Plain of Northeast China显示文摘Background:Nutrient resorption is an important plant nutrient conservation strategy in wetlands.However,how shrub encroachment alters plant nutrient resorption processes is unclear in temperate wetlands.Here,we collected green and senesced leaves of common sedge,grass,and shrub species in wetlands with high(50–65%)and low(20–35%)shrub covers in the Sanjiang Plain of Northeast China,and assessed the impact of shrub encroachment on leaf nitrogen(N)and phosphorus(P)resorption efficiency and proficiency at both plant growth form and community levels.Results:The effects of shrub cover on leaf nutrient resorption efficiency and proficiency were identical among shrubs,grasses,and sedges.Irrespective of plant growth forms,increased shrub cover reduced leaf N resorption efficiency and proficiency,but did not alter leaf P resorption efficiency and proficiency.However,the effect of shrub cover on leaf nutrient resorption efficiency and proficiency differed between plant growth form and community levels.At the community level,leaf N and P resorption efficiency decreased with increasing shrub cover because of increased dominance of shrubs with lower leaf nutrient resorption efficiency over grasses and sedges.Accordingly,community‑level senesced leaf N and P concentrations increased with elevating shrub cover,showing a decline in leaf N and P resorption proficiency.Moreover,the significant relationships between leaf nutrient resorption efficiency and proficiency indicate that shrub encroachment increased senesced leaf nutrient concentrations by decreasing nutrient resorption efficiency.Conclusions:These observations suggest that shrub encroachment reduces community‑level leaf nutrient resorp‑tion efficiency and proficiency and highlight that the effect of altered plant composition on leaf nutrient resorption should be assessed at the community level in temperate wetlands.Le‑Lin Yu Xin‑Hou Zhang Fu‑Xi Shi Rong Mao 2022Ecological Processes2022,11,1:0
14Realizing n-type CdSb with promising thermoelectric performance显示文摘Realizing high performance in both n-type and p-type materials is essential for designing efficient ther-moelectric devices.However,the doping bottleneck is often encountered,i.e.,only one type of conduction can be realized.As one example,p-type CdSb with high thermoelectric performance has been discovered for several decades,while its n-type counterpart has rarely been reported.In this work,the calculated band structure of CdSb demonstrates that the valley degeneracy is as large as ten for the conduction band,and it is only two for the valence band.Therefore,the n-type CdSb can potentially realize an ex-ceptional thermoelectric performance.Experimentally,the n-type conduction has been successfully real-ized by tuning the stoichiometry of CdSb.By further doping indium at the Cd site,an improved room-temperature electron concentration has been achieved.Band modeling predicts an optimal electron con-centration of∼2.0×1019 cm−3,which is higher than the current experimental values.Therefore,future optimization of the n-type CdSb should mainly focus on identifying practical approaches to optimize the electron concentration.Peng Zhao Honghao Yao Shizhen Zhi Xiaojing Ma Zuoxu Wu Yijie Liu Xinyu Wang Li Yin Zongwei Zhang Shuaihang Hou Xiaodong Wang Siliang Chen Chen Chen Xi Lin Haoliang Liu Xingjun Liu Feng Cao Qian Zhang Jun Mao 2023Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,13:0
15Torque effect on vibration behavior of high-speed train gearbox under internal and external excitations显示文摘The high-speed train transmission system,experiencing both the internal excitation originating from gear meshing and the external excitation originating from the wheel-rail interaction,exhibits complex dynamic behavior in the actual service environment.This paper focuses on the gearbox in the high-speed train to carry out the bench test,in which various operat-ing conditions(torques and rotation speeds)were set up and the excitation condition covering both internal and external was created.Acceleration responses on multiple positions of the gearbox were acquired in the test and the vibration behavior of the gearbox was studied.Meanwhile,a stochastic excitation modal test was also carried out on the test bench under different torques,and the modal parameter of the gearbox was identified.Finally,the sweep frequency response of the gearbox under gear meshing excitation was analyzed through dynamic modeling.The results showed that the torque has an attenuating effect on the amplitude of gear meshing frequency on the gearbox,and the effect of external excitation on the gearbox vibration cannot be ignored,especially under the rated operating condition.It was also found that the torque affects the modal param-eter of the gearbox significantly.The torque has a great effect on both the gear meshing stiffness and the bearing stiffness in the transmission system,which is the inherent reason for the changed modal characteristics observed in the modal test and affects the vibration behavior of the gearbox consequently.Yue Zhou Xi Wang Hongbo Que Rubing Guo Xinhai Lin Siqin Jin Chengpan Wu Yu Hou 2024Railway Engineering Science2024,32,2:0
16Feasibility and physics potential of detecting ^(8)B solar neutrinos at JUNO显示文摘The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory(JUNO)features a 20 kt multi-purpose underground liquid scintillator sphere as its main detector.Some of JUNO's features make it an excellent location for^8B solar neutrino measurements,such as its low-energy threshold,high energy resolution compared with water Cherenkov detectors,and much larger target mass compared with previous liquid scintillator detectors.In this paper,we present a comprehensive assessment of JUNO's potential for detecting^8B solar neutrinos via the neutrino-electron elastic scattering process.A reduced 2 MeV threshold for the recoil electron energy is found to be achievable,assuming that the intrinsic radioactive background^(238)U and^(232)Th in the liquid scintillator can be controlled to 10^(-17)g/g.With ten years of data acquisition,approximately 60,000 signal and 30,000 background events are expected.This large sample will enable an examination of the distortion of the recoil electron spectrum that is dominated by the neutrino flavor transformation in the dense solar matter,which will shed new light on the inconsistency between the measured electron spectra and the predictions of the standard three-flavor neutrino oscillation framework.IfDelta m^(2)_(21)=4.8times10^(-5);(7.5times10^(-5))eV^(2),JUNO can provide evidence of neutrino oscillation in the Earth at approximately the 3sigma(2sigma)level by measuring the non-zero signal rate variation with respect to the solar zenith angle.Moreover,JUNO can simultaneously measureDelta m^2_(21)using^8B solar neutrinos to a precision of 20% or better,depending on the central value,and to sub-percent precision using reactor antineutrinos.A comparison of these two measurements from the same detector will help understand the current mild inconsistency between the value of Delta m^2_(21)reported by solar neutrino experiments and the KamLAND 19Expert consensus on digital guided therapy for endodontic diseases显示文摘Digital guided therapy(DGT)has been advocated as a contemporary computer-aided technique for treating endodontic diseases in recent decades.The concept of DGT for endodontic diseases is categorized into static guided endodontics(SGE),necessitating a meticulously designed template,and dynamic guided endodontics(DGE),which utilizes an optical triangulation tracking system.Based on cone-beam computed tomography(CBCT)images superimposed with or without oral scan(OS)data,a virtual template is crafted through software and subsequently translated into a 3-dimensional(3D)printing for SGE,while the system guides the drilling path with a real-time navigation in DGE.DGT was reported to resolve a series of challenging endodontic cases,including teeth with pulp obliteration,teeth with anatomical abnormalities,teeth requiring retreatment,posterior teeth needing endodontic microsurgery,and tooth autotransplantation.Case reports and basic researches all demonstrate that DGT stand as a precise,time-saving,and minimally invasive approach in contrast to conventional freehand method.This expert consensus mainly introduces the case selection,general workflow,evaluation,and impact factor of DGT,which could provide an alternative working strategy in endodontic treatment.Xi Wei Yu Du Xuedong Zhou Lin Yue Qing Yu Benxiang Hou Zhi Chen Jingping Liang Wenxia Chen Lihong Qiu Xiangya Huang Liuyan Meng Dingming Huang Xiaoyan Wang Yu Tian Zisheng Tang Qi Zhang Leiying Miao Jin Zhao Deqin Yang Jian Yang Junqi Ling 2023International Journal of Oral Science2023,15,4:0
