3Fructus Broussonetae extract improves cognitive function and endoplasmic reticulum stress in Alzheimer's disease models显示文摘This study investigated the effects and possible targets of Fructus Broussonetiae extract,a traditional Chinese medicinal herb,on a model of Alzheimer's disease induced by beta-amyloid peptide 25-35 and D-galactose.The results revealed that intragastric administration of Fructus Broussonetiae significantly increased the expression of immunoglobulin-binding protein,a key factor in the endoplasmic reticulum stress-signaling pathway in rat hippocampus.In contrast,the treatment significantly decreased expression levels of PKR-like endoplasmic reticulum kinase and C/EBP homologous protein,and substantially improved learning,memory and spatial recognition dysfunction in rats.This evidence indicates that Fructus Broussonetiae extract improves spatial learning and memory abilities in rats by affecting the regulation of hippocampal endoplasmic reticulum stress and activation of the apoptosis pathway.Yinghong Li Li Hu Zhengzhi Wu Zhiling Yu Meiqun Cao Kehuan Sun Yu Jin Anmin Wu Andrew CJ Huang 2011Neural Regeneration Research2011,6,30:7
4Influence of Temperature and Salinity on Germination of Eelgrass (Zostera marina L.) Seeds显示文摘Seagrass restoration as part of ocean ecosystem protection has been launched for many years all over the world, but intensive research on this subject in China has just begun in recent years. Seed broadcasting has been widely accepted as the most potentially useful method for seagrass restoration over large areas. We examined the influence of key environmental factors on seed germination to help promote eelgrass bed restoration. Under anoxic conditions, the influence of temperature and salinity on the germination rate of eelgrass (Zostera marina L.) seeds was examined at different combinations of four temperatures (4, 9, 14, and 24℃) and nine salinities (5 to 45, increment of 5). The effect of significant interaction of temperature and salinity on germination rate was observed (ANOVA) (P<0.001). The highest germination rate (83.3 ± 3.5)% was reached in 8 weeks at 14℃ and salinity 5. Higher temperature significantly increased the germination rate at salinity 5 (P<0.001) during the whole observation period except for 24℃, while lower salinity significantly increased the germination rate at 14℃ (P<0.001). Although significant interaction was found between temperature and salinity (P<0.001), the influence of salinity was stronger than that of temperature for the germination of eelgrass seeds. 5Advances in the application of quantum dots in tumor markers investigation显示文摘Tumor markers have been of vital importance in cancer diagnosis,treatment and monitoring. However,the sen-sitivity of current tumor markers for early diagnosis is low,reducing the clinical usefulness of tumor markers. Quantum dots are new fluorescent nanoparticles with unique photophysical and chemical properties,thus having a great potential impact on the investigation of cancer pathogenesis,early diagnosis,targeted therapy,prognosis and monitoring,when combined with tumor markers. The current research is focused on the detection of specific tumor markers or molecules based on tangible carriers such as cells and tissues. One of the most promising clinical applications would be to explore the potential of this highly sensitive labeling technique for the detecting and imagining tumor markers in serum and other body fluids,where some progresses have already been made recently. 6Synthesis of chain-like MoS_2 nanoparticles in W/O reverse microemulsion and application in photocatalysis显示文摘Chain-like MoS2assemblies consisting of hexagonal MoS2nanoparticles(20-60 nm) have been successfully synthesized in a Triton X-100/cyclohexane/hexanol/water W/O reverse microemulsion in the presence of(NH 4)2MoS 4 as the molybdenum source and NH2OH·HCl as the reducing agent.The products were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction(XRD),transmission electron microscopy(TEM) and UV-vis diffuse reflectance absorption spectra.The influence of synthetic parameters such as acidity,water/oil ratio(0),aging time and annealing temperature on the formation of MoS2assemblies was investigated.TEM analysis showed that these synthetic factors played important roles in controlling the size of MoS2nanoparticles and the length of the chain-like MoS2assemblies.XRD analysis indicated that the well-crystallized MoS2nanoparticles could be obtained by annealing the precursors at 700 C for2h under a flow of N2atmosphere.In addition,the as-prepared chain-like MoS2nanoparticles exhibited excellent photocatalytic H2activity in Ru(bpy) 3 2+-MoS2-H2A three-component molecular systems under visible light irradiation.LIU MeiYing LI XiaoQian XU ZhiLing LI BoNa CHEN LinLin SHAN NanNan 2012Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,30:6
7Review on g-C_(3)N_(4)-based S-scheme heterojunction photocatalysts显示文摘With the rapid development of economy and modern industry,serious environmental pollution and energy shortage have become major urgent challenges to the human society.Photocatalysis is a promising technology to provide green energy.As a typical metal-free polymer photocatalyst,g-C_(3)N_(4) has attracted more and more attention due to its excellent performance.Unfortunately,the fast recombination of photo-induced charges,limited light response range as well as weak oxidation ability are still the key drawback that restrict the photocatalytic performance of g-C_(3)N_(4).These problems can be effectively addressed by constructing g-C_(3)N_(4)-based heterojunctions with two or more semiconductor materials,during which the respective advantages can be integrated.Up to now,the various oxidation semiconductor photocatalysts have been tried to construct the novel S-scheme heterojunction photocatalysts with g-C_(3)N_(4).Thus,this review provides a comprehensive introduction of g-C_(3)N_(4)-based S-scheme heterojunctions,including the main characteristics of the S-scheme heterojunction,photocatalytic mechanisms,design rules and preparation methods of g-C_(3)N_(4)-based S-scheme heterojunction photocatalysts.Moreover,this review summarizes recently reported works on the potential applications of g-C_(3)N_(4)-based S-scheme photocatalysts in various important photocatalytic reactions,including photocatalytic hydrogen production,photocatalytic degradation of contaminants,photo-reduction of CO_(2) into fuels,and photocatalytic sterilization.Finally,based on the current research progress,we propose some shortages in the preparation methods and applications of g-C_(3)N_(4)-based S-scheme heterojunctions,which are to be further investigated and resolved in this promising and creative research field.Yunfeng Li Zhiling Xia Qing Yang Linxi Wang Yan Xing 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,30:5
8Characterization and pilot functional study of a root-specific MYB transcription factor of Arabidopsis显示文摘An MYB transcription factor (AtMYB305) of Arabidopsis was structurally characterized. The biochemical activity of the protein was tested and its in vivo function was preliminarily analyzed. AtMYB305 contains two imperfect repeats (R2, R3) in its DNA binding domain. Gel mobility shift assay demonstrated that GST-AtMYB305 fusion pro-tein bound specifically to the DNA fragment that included a consensus MYB recognition sequence (TAACTG). Overex-pression of AtMYB305 in the fission yeast caused the forma-tion of elongated cells with one condensed nucleus. 9An ethanolic extract of Bailian(Radix Ampelopsis Japonicae):demonstration of colorectal cancer treatment efficacy via inhibition of β-catenin signaling in vitro显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To investigate the underlying mechanism of Bailian (Radix Ampelopsis Japonicae,BL) extract action on colorectal cancer (CRC).METHODS:We explored the involvement of β-catenin signaling on the anti-CRC effects of an BL ethanolic extract (BLE) in cell models by using the 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide assay,immunofluorescent staining,luciferase assay,Western blot analysis and real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction analysis.Anti-CRC compounds were quantified by high performance liquid chromatography.RESULTS:The contents of gallic acid,catechin,and epicatechin in the BLE were 0.23,1.25,and 0.18 g/kg,respectively.BLE-mediated cytotoxic and apoptotic effects were accompanied by lowered β-catenin/Tcf transcriptional activity,reduced β-catenin nuclear localization,and downregulated protein and mRNA levels of both β-catenin and molecules regulated by β-catenin.CONCLUSION:The mechanism underpinning the anti-CRC effects of BLE may involve inhibition of β-catenin signaling.Further studies are necessary to establish the role of β-catenin signaling in the action of BLE-mediated anti-CRC effects.Su Tao Wang Xinning Li Chunyu Bai Jingxuan Chi-Yan Cheng Fu Xiuqiong Li Ting Yu Zhiling 2019Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2019,39,3:3
10Atacamite and Nantokite in Kaerqueka Copper Deposit of Qimantag Area:Evidence for Cenozoic Climate Evolution of the Qaidam Basin显示文摘Using a mineralogy method to reflect climate evolution is a new approach to research Cenozoic environmental progression of the Qaidam Basin. In this paper, we present the chemical composition and crystallographic parameter of atacamite, nantokite, and tenorite in cryptocrystalline aggregates from the Kaerqueka copper deposit of Qimantag metallogenic belt by means of electron microprobe and in-situ X-ray diffraction analyses. Atacamite and nantokite occur in an intimate intergrowth as the secondary precipitation of chalcopyrite and bornite filling in the interstitial space of andradite in the Kaerqueka copper deposit, with an average composition of Cl: 12.38 wt.%, Cu: 63.76 wt.%, O: 21.46 wt.%. X-ray microdiffraction shows that the intergrowth contains nantokite with a cubic unit cell a=5.403(2) ? and atacamite with an orthorhombic unit cell a=6.030(3), b=6.883(2), c=9.114(1) ?. XRD quantitative calculation shows that the nanometric aggregate contains 36.07 wt.% tenorite, 18.41 wt.% atacamite, and 45.52 wt.% nantokite. The presence of nantokite and atacamite requires saline solutions for their formation and hyper-arid climate conditions for their preservation. Combined with the data of salt lakes and the pollen sequence of western China, we suggest that during the uplift of the Tibetan Plateau and the retreat of the Paratethys, saline water was forced to the surface through a basal fracture zone. In the hyper-arid climate of the Qaidam Basin, the recharge of groundwater by direct precipitation is negligible, and groundwater is derived from inflow from the salt lakes. Thus, atacamite is preserved. 11Boron doped graphdiyne:A metal-free peroxidase mimetic nanozyme for antibacterial application显示文摘The abuse of conventional antibiotics leads to increasing bacterial resistance.Nanozyme is a new kind of ultra-efficient and safe nanomaterial with intrinsic enzyme-like activities,showing remarkable potential as a next generation nanobactericide.Graphdiyne(GDY)is a burgeoning two-dimensional(2D)carbon allotrope with intriguing physicochemical properties,holding a great promise as a metal-free nanozyme.In this study,a boron doped GDY nanosheet(B-GDY)was constructed to simulate the performance of peroxidase(POD).By promoting the decomposition of H_(2)O_(2) to produce reactive oxygen species(ROS),the bactericidal efficacies against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria were substantially enhanced attributed to the extremely high catalytic activity of B-GDY.In-depth density functional theory(DFT)calculations illuminate that doping of boron can introduce more active B-defect sites as well as lower Gibbs free energy during the H_(2)O_(2) decomposition reaction.Notably,B-GDY contributes to significant wound healing and excellent biocompatibility,reducing the biological burden.The design of this nanozyme opens a new avenue for the development of alternative antibiotics.Xuelong Bi Qiang Bai Lina Wang Fanglin Du Manhong Liu William W.Yu Siheng Li Jiaqiang Li Zhiling Zhu Ning Sui Jin Zhang 2022Nano Research2022,15,2:2

14Z-scheme heterojunction of SnS_(2)-decorated 3DOM-SrTiO_(3) for selectively photocatalytic CO_(2) reduction into CH4显示文摘The rapid recombination of photoinduced electron-hole pairs as well as the deficiency of high-energy carriers restricted the redox ability and products selectivity.Herein,the heterojunction of SnS_(2)-deco rated three-dimensional ordered macropores(3DOM)-SrTiO_(3) catalysts were in-situ constructed to provide transmit channel for high-energy electron transmission.The suitable band edges of SnS_(2) and SrTiO_(3) contribute to the Z-scheme transfer of photogenerated carrier.The 3DOM structure of SrTiO_(3)-based catalyst possesses the slow light effect for enhancing light adsorption efficiency,and the surface alkalis strontium is benefit to the boosting adsorption for CO_(2).The in-situ introduced SnS_(2) decorated on the macroporous wall surface of 3DOM-SrTiO_(3) altered the primary product from CO to CH4.The Z-scheme electron transfer from SnS_(2) combining with the holes in SrTiO_(3) occurred under full spectrum photoexcitation,which improved the excitation and utilization of photogene rated electrons for C02 multi-electrons reduction.As a result,(SnS_(2))3/3 DOM-SrTiO_(3) catalyst exhibits higher activity for photocatalytic CO_(2) reduction to CH4 compared with single SnS_(2) or 3 DOM-SrTiO_(3),i.e.,its yield and selectivity of CH4 are 12.5μmol g^(-1) h^(-1) and 74.9%,re spectively.The present work proposed the theoretical foundation of Z-scheme heterojunction construction for enhancing photocatalytic activity and selectivity for CO_(2) conversion.Wenjie He Xingxing Wu Yifei Li Jing Xiong Zhiling Tang Yuechang Wei Zhen Zhao Xiao Zhang Jian Liu 2020Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,10:2
15Young Yum pill inhibits inflammatory mediators and nuclear factor-kappa B signaling in lipopolysaccharide-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of Young Yum pill (YYP) on inflammatory mediators in cultured RAW 264.7 cells and elucidate the nuclear factor- kappa B (NF-κB)-related mechanism behind the action. METHODS: YYP was extracted with 95% ethanol Lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages were used to evaluate the effect of YYP on inflammatory mediators. Production of nitric oxide (NO) and prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) were measured by Griess test and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, respectively. The levels of genes and proteins involved in the generation of inflammatory mediators were examined using real-time polymerase chain reaction and Western blotting, respectively. RESULTS: YYP dose-dependently suppressed LPS-induced production of NO, PGE2 and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α), and elevation of mRNA and protein levels of inducible NO synthase and cyclooxygenase- 2 in RAW 264.7 macrophages. These observations were associated with decreased NF-κB p65 phosphorylation and nuclear localization, enhanced Akt (protein kinase B) phosphorylation, as well as reduced inhibitor of κB (IκB)α degradation and IκB kinase α/β phosphorylation. 16An improved ileal conduit surgery for bladder cancer with fewer complications显示文摘Background:Radical cystectomy and urinary diversion remains the standard surgical treatment for patients with muscle-invasive or high-risk or recurrent non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer.Although this approach prolongs patient survival remarkably,there are postoperative complications associated with urinary diversion.This study aimed to assess the efficacy of modified ileal conduit surgery for reducing early and late stoma-and ureteroileal anastomo-sis-related complications,as compared with conventional ileal conduit urinary diversion.Methods:We retrospectively evaluated the clinical data of bladder cancer patients treated with radical cystectomy and ileal conduit urinary diversion at Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center between January 1,2000 and June 30,2016.Ileal conduit was created by the conventional or a modified technique.The clinicopathologic features of the conventional and the modified ileal conduit groups were compared using the t test and the Chi square test.Multivari-able logistic regression analysis and multivariable Cox regression analysis were performed to determine the odds of developing stoma-and ureteroileal anastomosis-related complications in the two groups.Results:145 and 100 patients underwent the modified and conventional ileal conduit surgery,respectively.The two groups were comparable with regard to clinicopathologic features.The rate of stoma-related complications was significantly lower in the modified ileal conduit group than in the conventional ileal conduit group(0.7%vs.17.0%,P<0.001).No late stoma-related complications were seen in the modified ileal conduit group,but were seen in 13(13.0%)patients in the conventional ileal conduit group.The rate of ureteroileal anastomosis-related complications was significantly lower in the modified ileal conduit group than in the conventional ileal conduit group(4.8%vs.15.0%,P=0.001).In multivariable analyses,the modified ileal conduit group was significantly less likely to develop stoma-(odds ratio[OR]=0.024,95%confidence interval[CI]0.003-0.235;P=0.001)or ureteroileal anastomosis-related complications(OR=0.141,95%CI 0.042-0.476;P=0.002)than the conventional ileal conduit group.Conclusions:Our modified surgical technique for ileal conduit urinary diversion may be effective for reducing early and late complications related to the stoma and the ureteroileal anastomosis.Prospective randomized clinical trials are needed to confirm our results.Zhiyong Li Zhuowei Liu Kai Yao Zike Qin Hui Han Yonghong Li Pei Dong Yunlin Ye Yanjun Wang Zhiming Wu Zhiling Zhang Fangjian Zhou 2019Cancer Communications2019,39,1:2
17Synthesis of AgInS_2 QDs in droplet microreactors:Online fluorescence regulating through temperature control显示文摘For the synthesis of AgInS_2 quantum dots(QDs), a suitable temperature is extremely important for control of the size, shape and fluorescence properties of QDs. Most of synthesis methods for AgInS_2 QDs are based on batch reactors, which bring uneven distribution of temperature, affecting their fluorescence properties and size uniformity. Here we designed a droplet microreactor with a temperature-controllable region, and successfully synthesized water-soluble AgInS_2 QDs. By accurately controlling temperature,we also studied how the reaction temperature affected the fluorescence properties of AgInS_2 QDs. The results showed that with the increasing of reaction temperature, the QDs size increased and the fluorescence peak constantly red-shifted along with enhanced fluorescence intensity.
