High-pressure polymorph of TiO_2-Ⅱ from the Xiuyan crater of China显示文摘Abundant TiO2-Ⅱ,a high-pressure polymorph of titanium dioxide, was found in the gneiss fragments of impact-produced breccias from the Xiuyan crater.Rutile in the gneiss was severely fragmented and fine-grained clasts less than 2 m in size had been transformed to TiO2-II.Irregular thin layered TiO2-Ⅱ is also observed in coarse-grained rutile fragments, where the TiO2-Ⅱ layers distributes along fractures and cracks in rutile.About 30 percent of rutile in the gneiss had been transformed to TiO2-Ⅱ.Fine grains of TiO2-Ⅱ display light bluish grey to light yellow brown in plane-polarized reflected light.Crystallographic investigation shows that TiO2-Ⅱ has an orthorhombic structure with space group Pbcn. The cell parameters are a=4.543(1),b=5.491(9)and c=4.895(2).Its empirical formula calculated on the basis of two oxygen atoms can be written as(Ti0.985Fe0.008Nb0.006-Si0.003Zr0.001)1.003O2,or simply formula TiO2.According to the shock effects of quartz and feldspars, the peak shock pressure and post-shock temperature in the TiO2-Ⅱ-bearing gneiss are estimated to be between 35 and 43 GPa and 300–900°C,respectively.The finding of TiO2-Ⅱ in the shock-metamorphosed gneiss provides another mineral physics evidence for shock origin of the Xiuyan crater.CHEN Ming GU XiangPing XIE XianDe YIN Feng 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,36:3
Atacamite and Nantokite in Kaerqueka Copper Deposit of Qimantag Area:Evidence for Cenozoic Climate Evolution of the Qaidam Basin显示文摘Using a mineralogy method to reflect climate evolution is a new approach to research Cenozoic environmental progression of the Qaidam Basin. In this paper, we present the chemical composition and crystallographic parameter of atacamite, nantokite, and tenorite in cryptocrystalline aggregates from the Kaerqueka copper deposit of Qimantag metallogenic belt by means of electron microprobe and in-situ X-ray diffraction analyses. Atacamite and nantokite occur in an intimate intergrowth as the secondary precipitation of chalcopyrite and bornite filling in the interstitial space of andradite in the Kaerqueka copper deposit, with an average composition of Cl: 12.38 wt.%, Cu: 63.76 wt.%, O: 21.46 wt.%. X-ray microdiffraction shows that the intergrowth contains nantokite with a cubic unit cell a=5.403(2) ? and atacamite with an orthorhombic unit cell a=6.030(3), b=6.883(2), c=9.114(1) ?. XRD quantitative calculation shows that the nanometric aggregate contains 36.07 wt.% tenorite, 18.41 wt.% atacamite, and 45.52 wt.% nantokite. The presence of nantokite and atacamite requires saline solutions for their formation and hyper-arid climate conditions for their preservation. Combined with the data of salt lakes and the pollen sequence of western China, we suggest that during the uplift of the Tibetan Plateau and the retreat of the Paratethys, saline water was forced to the surface through a basal fracture zone. In the hyper-arid climate of the Qaidam Basin, the recharge of groundwater by direct precipitation is negligible, and groundwater is derived from inflow from the salt lakes. Thus, atacamite is preserved. In addition, spertiniite in the edge and fractures of atacamite and nantokite may represent wetter climate after the formation of atacamite and nantokite.Liwen Yi Xiangping Gu Anhuai Lu Xiangyu Li Dexian Zhang Zhiling Wang Jianping Liu Shuai Li Zhengxiang Shu Cui Yu Hongyan Zuo Can Shen 2017Journal of Earth Science2017,28,3:3

Major and Trace Elements of Magnetite from the Qimantag Metallogenic Belt: Insights into Evolution of Ore–forming Fluids显示文摘Magnetite, as a genetic indicator of ores, has been studied in various deposits in the world. In this paper, we present textural and compositional data of magnetite from the Qimantag metallogenic belt of the Kunlun Orogenic Belt in China, to provide a better understanding of the formation mechanism and genesis of the metallogenic belt and to shed light on analytical protocols for the in situ chemical analysis of magnetite. Magnetite samples from various occurrences, including the ore–related granitoid pluton, mineralised endoskarn and vein–type iron ores hosted in marine carbonate intruded by the pluton, were examined using scanning electron microscopy and analysed for major and trace elements using electron microprobe and laser ablation–inductively coupled plasma–mass spectrometry. The field and microscope observation reveals that early–stage magnetite from the Hutouya and Kendekeke deposits occurs as massive or banded assemblages, whereas late–stage magnetite is disseminated or scattered in the ores. Early–stage magnetite contains high contents of Ti, V, Ga, Al and low in Mg and Mn. In contrast, late–stage magnetite is high in Mg, Mn and low in Ti, V, Ga, Al. Most magnetite grains from the Qimantag metallogenic belt deposits except the Kendekeke deposit plot in the ' Skarn ' field in the Ca+Al+Mn vs Ti+V diagram, far from typical magmatic Fe deposits such as the Damiao and Panzhihua deposits. According to the(Mg O+Mn O)–Ti O2–Al2O3 diagram, magnetite grains from the Kaerqueka and Galingge deposits and the No.7 ore body of the Hutouya deposit show typical characteristics of skarn magnetite, whereas magnetite grains from the Kendekeke deposit and the No.2 ore body of the Hutouya deposit show continuous elemental variation from magmatic type to skarn type. This compositional contrast indicates that chemical composition of magnetite is largely controlled by the compositions of magmatic fluids and host rocks of the ores that have reacted with the fluids. Moreover, a combination of petrography and magnetite geochemistry indicates that the formation of those ore deposits in the Qimantag metallogenic belt involved a magmatic–hydrothermal process.YI Liwen GU Xiangping LU Anhuai LIU Jianping LEI Hao WANG Zhiling CUI Yu ZUO Hongyan SHEN Can 2015Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2015,89,4:2
Petrography and chronology of lunar meteorite Northwest Africa 6950显示文摘Northwest Africa(NWA)6950 is an olivine-gabbro lunar meteorite that has a distinctly different petrographic texture from other lunar basalts. In this contribution,we report the petrography, mineralogy, and U-Pb geochronology of baddeleyite and phosphate in this lunar meteorite and make a comparison with other NWA 773 paired meteorites.NWA 6950 consists mainly of coarse-grained olivine, pyroxene, and plagioclase, with minor ilmenite, chromite, troilite, baddeleyite, taenite, and apatite. The abundant rounded to euhedral olivine has a limited Fo ranging from 68 to 69.Pyroxenes include both augite and pigeonite, with a narrow range of Mg#=71–80,and composition,respectively,En46-52Fs12-16Wo32-41 and En58-68Fs19-28Wo7-20.Plagioclase is mainly anhedral, conforming to the crystal margins of olivine and pyroxene. The plagioclase grains are elongated and several hundreds of microns in length.Raman spectra shows that plagioclase has been transformed into maskelynite, which is very calcic(An87-95)with low sodium and very low potassium(Ab4-9Or0.6-3.7).The weighted mean 207Pb/206Pb ages of baddeleyite and phosphate measured using a sensitive high resolution ion micro probe(SHRIMP II)are 3119±16 Ma(n=9,MSWD=2.5)(mean squared weighted deviates,MSWD)and 3119±18 Ma(n=15,MSWD=2.1),respectively,giving the crystallization age of the meteorite.NWA 6950 has similar mineral compositions, geochemical characteristics, and an almost identical age of crystallization to the magnesian gabbro of the NWA 773 clan.We conclude that NWA 6950 and NWA 773 are paired meteorites, which crystallize at ca.3119 Ma,and represent magmatic activities in the KREEP(potassium(K),rare earth elements(REE)and phosphorus(P)rich lunar material)region of the Moon.Zemin BAO Yuruo SHI JLawford ANDERSON Allen KENNEDY Zuokai KE Xiangping GU Peizhi WANG Xiaochao CHE Yuelan KANG Huiyi SUN Chen WANG 2020Science China(Information Sciences)2020,63,4:2
Growth Pattern and Its Indication of Spheroidal Nano-Micro Crystal Aggregates of Pyrite in the Baiyunpu Pb-Zn Polymetallic Deposit, Central Hunan显示文摘The Baiyunpu deposit lies in the southwest plunging Dachengshan anticline in central Hunan, which is a large Pb-Zn polymetallic deposit. The orebodies were surrounded by the Qiziqiao Formation limestone in the Middle Devonian, and its geological occurrence is consistent with the wall rocks. A large number of spheroidal pyrite aggregates are found unevenly distributed in the ores. The spheroidal aggregates are made up of kernels and concentric rings. The kernels are composed of approximately epigranular pyrite nanocrystals, while the rings are composed of accumulated pyrite microcrystals growing along the radial direction. The spheroidal pyrite aggregate and its outer zones can be divided into five areas(A–E). The results of electron probe micro analysis(EPMA) show that from the zone A1 to B, Co/Ni <1, the sum of Co and Ni is 0.08%–0.26%, S/Fe increases from 2.06 to 2.15. While from the zone C to E, Ni cannot be detected and S/Fe decreases from 2.22 to 2.08. Powder X-ray diffraction(XRD) analysis in the micro zone shows obvious crystalline characteristics in the aggregates. Moving from the inside outwards, the maximum diffraction peak intensity of the(111) and(220) crystal planes of pyrite increases, and the crystallinity improves. The degree of change in the(111) plane is the most prominent. Considering the theory of crystal growth along with the geologic features of the depositional environment where the spheroidal pyrite aggregates developed, we confirm that the spheroidal aggregates are the result of nano-micro crystalline gathering and growth occurring by the following sequence of processes:nano-crystalline nucleation and growth, gathering into a ball, oriented growth of microcrystals, continuous accumulation, and adjustment of grain boundaries. The formation of the spheroidal pyrite aggregates in the late Qiziqiao Formation of the Middle Devonian occurred in a neutral to weak alkaline and reductive sedimentary environment in the normal oxygen-rich shallowwater carbonate platform edge. The variations in the S/Fe ratio and crystallisation characteristics indicate that during pyrite crystal growth, the sulphur fugacity was high locally and rose constantly, the degree of supersaturation decreased locally and the growth environment was stable relatively.GAO Shang HUANG Fei GU Xiangping LI Xiangyou MENG Lin LIU Rui SUN Li GAO Wenyuan YU Huantao 2014Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2014,88,6:2
Re-Os Isotopic Age of Molybdenite of the Jingren Deposit and its Mineralogical Significance of Magnetite,Pyrite and Chalcopyrite显示文摘The Jingren deposit is part of the Qimantage metallogenic belt within the eastern Kunlun orogenic belt, the largest metallogenic belt in Qinghai Province, northwestern China.Exploration data show that the metal resources of the Jingren deposit are greater than 93000 t in a mining area of 76.15 km2,which indicates significant exploration potential in the near future.Three W–E-trending faults,F1-3,dominate the extension of the mineralization zone, which consists of chalcopyrite, pyrite, magnetite, galena, sphalerite, and molybdenite as well as bismuth-bearing minerals. The deposit contains a large amount of late Triassic intrusive rocks, however, previous research did not reach a consensus on the timing or the origin of the mineralization owing to a lack of geochronological data and poor exposure conditions. In the present study,Re-Os isotopic dating from six molybdenite samples collected from a borehole of the granodiorite in the Jingren deposit using negative thermal ionization mass spectrometry(NTIMS)showed 187 Re and 187 Os concentrations of 0.26–4.40 ppm and 1.03–16.46 ppb, respectively, with an initial 187 Os/188 Os value of 0.06±0.19.This proves that the Jingren deposit has a metallogenic age of(225±4)Ma and is the product of united mineralization of the Qimantage metallogenic belt and that the Jingren deposit might actually be an Indosinian metallogeny. In addition, the Re content of these samples,at 0.42 ppm to 7.00 ppm shows that the mineralization was derived mainly from a crustal source.Furthermore, electron probe microanalysis(EPMA)conducted on chalcopyrite obtained from 22 metallic mineral samples revealed(Fe+Cu)/S ratios of 1.801–1.947 with an average of 1.852,which is lower than the ideal value(1.875).Besides,the main ore body formed in a relatively higher temperature environment than the surrounding rocks in the Jingren deposit. These data indicate that the Jingren deposit formed in a metallogenic environment at lower temperature. Moreover, according to the TiO_(2)-Al_(2)O_(3)-(MgO+MnO)and TiO_(2)-Al_(2)O_(3)-MgO genetic classification diagram for magnetite, the Jingren deposit most likely belongs to the skarn family. In addition, the Co-Ni-As genetic classification diagram of the pyrite indicates sedimentary and skarn genetic characteristics.CAO Li YI Liwen DAI Wei XIE Binggeng LI Xiaoqing LU Anhuai GU Xiangping 2021Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2021,95,4:1
Chenguodaite (Ag_9FeTe_2S_4):a new tellurosulfide mineral from the gold district of East Shandong Peninsula,China显示文摘Chenguodaite, approved by IMA-CNMMN (2004-042a), was discovered in the Bunan quartz vein-type gold deposit in the gold district of East Shandong Peninsula. The mineral occurs in high grade Au-Ag-Cu ores, coexisting with galena, chalcopyrite, hessite, electrum, unnamed Ag6TeS2 and Ag16FeBiTe3S8, enclosed and replaced by native silver and acanthite. In the reflected light microscope, the mineral has light gray color, indistinguishable anistropism and hardness around 2―3. The color indices of chenguodaite relative to ICE C illuminator are: x=0.3027, y=0.3076, Y=25.78%, λd=474 nm, Pe=3.68%, similar to those of canfieldite. The average chemical composition from 16 microprobe analyses is Ag8.97Fe1.00Te1.99S4.04, idealized to Ag9FeTe2S4. The polycrystalline X-ray diffraction of chenguodaite by Gandolfi camera and synchrotron oscillation photography results in 67 reflections with the 12 strongest being (relative intensity in bracket): 6.742(69), 6.416(39), 5.951(33), 3.265(100), 2.981(24), 2.649(22), 2.25(24), 2.188(71), 2.142(22), 2.123(31), 2.044(23), 1.949(33), which are indexed to a primitive orthorhombic cell with a=12.769 (2) , b= 14.814(2), c= 16.233 (1) , V= 3070.63, Z = 9, Dcal.=6.85 g/cm3. 11Transmission electron microscopic study of the fine-grained vein matrix in the Suizhou L6 meteorite显示文摘The mineralogy of shock vein matrix in the Suizhou meteorite has been investigated by optical and transmission electron microscopy. It was revealed that the vein matrix is composed of majorite-pyrope garnet, magnesiowüstite, and ringwoodite, with FeNi–FeS intergrowths. The observation and character of ring-like selected electron diffraction(SAED) patterns indicate that the idiomorphic garnet crystals in the vein matrix have different orientations. The polycrystalline nature of magnesiowüstite is also confirmed by a ring-like SAED pattern. Both garnet and magnesiowüstite crystals showed sharp diffraction spots, signifying the good crystallinity of these two minerals. The SAED pattern of cryptocrystalline ringwoodite shows only diffuse concentric diffraction rings. FeNi metal and troilite(FeS), which were molten during the shock event, occur in the matrix as fine eutectic FeNi–FeS intergrowths filling the interstices between garnet and magnesiowüstite grains. Based on the phase diagram of the Allende chondrite and the results of this TEM study, it is inferred that majorite-pyrope garnet first crystallized from the Suizhou chondritic melt at 22–26 GPa,followed by crystallization of magnesiowüstite at 20–24 GPa, and then ringwoodite at 18–20 GPa. The eutectic intergrowths of FeNi-metal and troilite are proposed to have crystallized during meteorite cooling and solidified at the last stage of vein formation.Xie Xiande Wang Jianbo Gu Xiangping Xiong Yi Jia Shuangfeng 2016Acta Geochimica2016,35,2:0
The breakdown of diopside to(Ca,Mg)SiO_(3)perovskite–(Mg,Ca,Fe)SiO_(3)glass–(Mg,Ca)SiO_(3)glass–(Mg,Ca)SiO_(3)majorite in a melt vein the Suizhou L6 chondrite显示文摘The Suizhou meteorite is a heavily shocked and melted vein-containing L6 chondrite. It contains a minor amount of diopside with a(Ca_(0.419)Mg_(0.466)Fe_(0.088))SiO_(3)composition,and a shock-metamorphosed diopside grain associated with ringwoodite and lingunite was found in a melt vein of this meteorite. Our electron microprobe, transmission electron microscopic and Raman spectroscopic analyses revealed four silicate phases with different compositions and structures inside this shock-metamorphosed diopside grain, termed phase A,B,C and D in this paper.Phase A is identified as orthorhombic(Ca_(0.663)-Mg_(0.314))SiO_(3)-perovskite which is closely associated with phase B,the vitrified(Mg_(0.642)Ca_(0.290)Fe_(0.098))SiO_(3)perovskite.Phase D is assigned to be(Mg_(0.578)Ca_(0.414))SiO_(3)majorite which is associated with phase C,the vetrified Carich Mg-perovskite with a(Mg_(0.853)Ca_(0.167))SiO_(3)composition.Based on high-pressure and high-temperature experiments, the diopside grain in the melt vein of the Suizhou meteorite would have experienced a P–T regime of 20–24GPa and 1800–>2000℃.Such P–T conditions are high enough for the decomposition of the diopside and the formation of four different silicate phases. The orthorhombic(Ca_(0.663)Mg_(0.314))SiO_(3)perovskite found in the Suizhou L6 chondrite might be considered as the third lower-mantle silicate mineral after bridgmanite and davemaoite after the detailed analyses of its crystal structure and physical properties being completed.Xiande Xie Xiangping Gu 2023Acta Geochimica2023,42,2:0
Equivalent model of multi-type distributed generators under faults with fast-iterative calculation method based on improved PSO algorithm显示文摘There are various types of distributed generators (DGs) with different grid integration strategies. The transient characteristics of the fault currents provided by the DGs are different to those of conventional synchronous generators. In this paper, a distribution network with multi-type DGs is investigated, including consideration of DG low-voltage ride through (LVRT). The fault current characteristics of two typical DGs, i.e. an inverter-interfaced distributed generator (IIDG) and a doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG), are analyzed, considering the specific operation modes. Based on analysis of the fault characteristics, an equivalent model of the multi-type DGs under symmetrical/asymmetrical fault conditions is established. A fast-iterative fault calculation method for enhancing the calculation efficiency while avoiding local convergence is then proposed using an improved particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm. A simulation system of the distribution network with multi-type DGs is established in PSCAD/EMTDC. The simulation results validate the high accuracy and calculation efficiency of the proposed calculation method of the fault components. This can assist in the settings of the protection threshold.Puyu Wang Jinyuan Song Fangyu Liang Fang Shi Xiangping Kong Guangen Xie Xiao-Ping Zhang Xinxin Gu 2021Protection and Control of Modern Power Systems2021,6,1:0
Determination of Fe^(2+)/Fe^(3+)Ratios of Magnetite using Different Methods:A Case Study from the Qimantag Metallogenic Belt显示文摘Determination of Fe^(2+)/Fe^(3+) ratios from metallogenic belts to explore controlling physical and chemical conditions of rock formation is of great significance. In order to explore magnetite Fe^(2+)/Fe^(3+) ratios of the Qimantag metallogenic belt, part of the Eastern Kunlun orogenic belt in the northeastern margin of the Qinghai–Tibetan plateau, western Central Orogenic Belt of China, and overcome the limitation of the traditional electronic probe, five different measurement methods are proposed and their respective advantages and disadvantages evaluated, with the composition data of the magnetite obtained using electron probe microanalysis(EPMA).The direct oxygen measurement method has a significant impact on the determination results of FeO and Fe2O3,but the accuracy and uniformity of the results are low.The valence method(Flank method)based on the spectral intensity ratio of Lαto Lβfor iron is also unreliable for FeO and Fe_(2)O^(3) measurements because it is difficult to establish a relationship between Lβ/Lα,the spectral intensity ratio, and the Fe^(2+)/Fe^(3+) content ratio. In comparison, the charge difference method, the surplus-oxygen method and the Mössbauer spectrum method are still the most favorable.Mössbauer spectroscopy, with its isomer movement particularly sensitive to the oxidation state of iron, yields results closer to 0.5,which is relatively reliable.Earlier magnetite deposits are located in intrusions or contact zones and formed by magmatic fluids with high Fe2+/Fe3+ratios,whereas later magnetite deposits are farther away from intrusions and have low Fe^(2+)/Fe^(3+) ratios. The transformation mechanism of hematite and magnetite in the Qimantage metallogenic belt is also studied. No large volume changes, such as pore filling and shrinkage fracture, were detected in the metallogenic belt, and the transformation mechanism is more similar to a reoxidation and reduction mechanism.YI Liwen LI Qiuping LU Anhuai GU Xiangping CHI Guoxiang 2022Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2022,96,6:0
Simulation and assessment of manufacturing ethylene carbonate from ethylene oxide in multiple process routes显示文摘Ethylene oxide(EO)is an important raw material for producing ethylene carbonate(EC).However, the traditional method for the separation of EO from mixture gas by water in the refining process is high energy consumption. In this paper, two processes of manufacturing EC from EO mixture gas were studied by process simulation. Two processes for producing EC from EO mixture as raw materials without EO purification, called the OSAC process and the Modified OSAC process, were developed and assessed systematically. Both processes use EC as the absorbent to capture EO,avoiding the separation process of EO from solution. For comparisons, the EC producing process containing EO absorption by water,EO refinement and carbonylation process were also modeled, which was called the ERC process.Three schemes were designed for the EO absorber using EC as absorbent.Compared with the initial absorber scheme, the optimal liquid–vapor ratio is reduced from 1.66 to 1.45(mass).Moreover,the mass distribution analysis for the three processes were carried out in the form of the material chain. It was found that, compared with the ERC process, the energy consumption of the OSAC and the Modified OSAC process is reduced by 56.89%and 30.03%,respectively.This work will provide helpful information for the industrialization of the OSAC process.Xincheng Gu Xiaochun Zhang Xiangping Zhang Chun Deng 2021Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2021,34,3:0
