1Fructus Broussonetae extract improves cognitive function and endoplasmic reticulum stress in Alzheimer's disease models显示文摘This study investigated the effects and possible targets of Fructus Broussonetiae extract,a traditional Chinese medicinal herb,on a model of Alzheimer's disease induced by beta-amyloid peptide 25-35 and D-galactose.The results revealed that intragastric administration of Fructus Broussonetiae significantly increased the expression of immunoglobulin-binding protein,a key factor in the endoplasmic reticulum stress-signaling pathway in rat hippocampus.In contrast,the treatment significantly decreased expression levels of PKR-like endoplasmic reticulum kinase and C/EBP homologous protein,and substantially improved learning,memory and spatial recognition dysfunction in rats.This evidence indicates that Fructus Broussonetiae extract improves spatial learning and memory abilities in rats by affecting the regulation of hippocampal endoplasmic reticulum stress and activation of the apoptosis pathway.Yinghong Li Li Hu Zhengzhi Wu Zhiling Yu Meiqun Cao Kehuan Sun Yu Jin Anmin Wu Andrew CJ Huang 2011Neural Regeneration Research2011,6,30:7

3An ethanolic extract of Bailian(Radix Ampelopsis Japonicae):demonstration of colorectal cancer treatment efficacy via inhibition of β-catenin signaling in vitro显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To investigate the underlying mechanism of Bailian (Radix Ampelopsis Japonicae,BL) extract action on colorectal cancer (CRC).METHODS:We explored the involvement of β-catenin signaling on the anti-CRC effects of an BL ethanolic extract (BLE) in cell models by using the 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide assay,immunofluorescent staining,luciferase assay,Western blot analysis and real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction analysis.Anti-CRC compounds were quantified by high performance liquid chromatography.RESULTS:The contents of gallic acid,catechin,and epicatechin in the BLE were 0.23,1.25,and 0.18 g/kg,respectively.BLE-mediated cytotoxic and apoptotic effects were accompanied by lowered β-catenin/Tcf transcriptional activity,reduced β-catenin nuclear localization,and downregulated protein and mRNA levels of both β-catenin and molecules regulated by β-catenin.CONCLUSION:The mechanism underpinning the anti-CRC effects of BLE may involve inhibition of β-catenin signaling.Further studies are necessary to establish the role of β-catenin signaling in the action of BLE-mediated anti-CRC effects.Su Tao Wang Xinning Li Chunyu Bai Jingxuan Chi-Yan Cheng Fu Xiuqiong Li Ting Yu Zhiling 2019Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2019,39,3:3
4Atacamite and Nantokite in Kaerqueka Copper Deposit of Qimantag Area:Evidence for Cenozoic Climate Evolution of the Qaidam Basin显示文摘Using a mineralogy method to reflect climate evolution is a new approach to research Cenozoic environmental progression of the Qaidam Basin. In this paper, we present the chemical composition and crystallographic parameter of atacamite, nantokite, and tenorite in cryptocrystalline aggregates from the Kaerqueka copper deposit of Qimantag metallogenic belt by means of electron microprobe and in-situ X-ray diffraction analyses. Atacamite and nantokite occur in an intimate intergrowth as the secondary precipitation of chalcopyrite and bornite filling in the interstitial space of andradite in the Kaerqueka copper deposit, with an average composition of Cl: 12.38 wt.%, Cu: 63.76 wt.%, O: 21.46 wt.%. X-ray microdiffraction shows that the intergrowth contains nantokite with a cubic unit cell a=5.403(2) ? and atacamite with an orthorhombic unit cell a=6.030(3), b=6.883(2), c=9.114(1) ?. XRD quantitative calculation shows that the nanometric aggregate contains 36.07 wt.% tenorite, 18.41 wt.% atacamite, and 45.52 wt.% nantokite. The presence of nantokite and atacamite requires saline solutions for their formation and hyper-arid climate conditions for their preservation. Combined with the data of salt lakes and the pollen sequence of western China, we suggest that during the uplift of the Tibetan Plateau and the retreat of the Paratethys, saline water was forced to the surface through a basal fracture zone. In the hyper-arid climate of the Qaidam Basin, the recharge of groundwater by direct precipitation is negligible, and groundwater is derived from inflow from the salt lakes. Thus, atacamite is preserved. 5Major and Trace Elements of Magnetite from the Qimantag Metallogenic Belt: Insights into Evolution of Ore–forming Fluids显示文摘Magnetite, as a genetic indicator of ores, has been studied in various deposits in the world. In this paper, we present textural and compositional data of magnetite from the Qimantag metallogenic belt of the Kunlun Orogenic Belt in China, to provide a better understanding of the formation mechanism and genesis of the metallogenic belt and to shed light on analytical protocols for the in situ chemical analysis of magnetite. Magnetite samples from various occurrences, including the ore–related granitoid pluton, mineralised endoskarn and vein–type iron ores hosted in marine carbonate intruded by the pluton, were examined using scanning electron microscopy and analysed for major and trace elements using electron microprobe and laser ablation–inductively coupled plasma–mass spectrometry. The field and microscope observation reveals that early–stage magnetite from the Hutouya and Kendekeke deposits occurs as massive or banded assemblages, whereas late–stage magnetite is disseminated or scattered in the ores. Early–stage magnetite contains high contents of Ti, V, Ga, Al and low in Mg and Mn. In contrast, late–stage magnetite is high in Mg, Mn and low in Ti, V, Ga, Al. Most magnetite grains from the Qimantag metallogenic belt deposits except the Kendekeke deposit plot in the ' Skarn ' field in the Ca+Al+Mn vs Ti+V diagram, far from typical magmatic Fe deposits such as the Damiao and Panzhihua deposits. According to the(Mg O+Mn O)–Ti O2–Al2O3 diagram, magnetite grains from the Kaerqueka and Galingge deposits and the No.7 ore body of the Hutouya deposit show typical characteristics of skarn magnetite, whereas magnetite grains from the Kendekeke deposit and the No.2 ore body of the Hutouya deposit show continuous elemental variation from magmatic type to skarn type. This compositional contrast indicates that chemical composition of magnetite is largely controlled by the compositions of magmatic fluids and host rocks of the ores that have reacted with the fluids. 6Construction of CdSe/ZnS quantum dot microarray in a microfluidic chip显示文摘Microarray technology has been proved to be greatly helpful for biomedical and biological diagnosis. And the evaluation of its biological applications lies in the detection sensitivity, which requires high intensity and stability of the signal. Recently, several nanomaterials, especially semiconductor nanomaterials, due to their excellent fluorescence properties, have been widely used to construct microarrays for biosensors. Here, we presented an approach for constructing CdSe/ZnS quantum dot (QD) microarray in microfluidic channels on a glass slide by photolithography. The conditions for immobilizing stable and uniform QD microarray on the glass slide were optimized. Several types of QD microarrays with different emission wavelengths and modified groups were constructed using silanization and lithography technology. 7Young Yum pill inhibits inflammatory mediators and nuclear factor-kappa B signaling in lipopolysaccharide-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of Young Yum pill (YYP) on inflammatory mediators in cultured RAW 264.7 cells and elucidate the nuclear factor- kappa B (NF-κB)-related mechanism behind the action. METHODS: YYP was extracted with 95% ethanol Lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages were used to evaluate the effect of YYP on inflammatory mediators. Production of nitric oxide (NO) and prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) were measured by Griess test and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, respectively. The levels of genes and proteins involved in the generation of inflammatory mediators were examined using real-time polymerase chain reaction and Western blotting, respectively. RESULTS: YYP dose-dependently suppressed LPS-induced production of NO, PGE2 and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α), and elevation of mRNA and protein levels of inducible NO synthase and cyclooxygenase- 2 in RAW 264.7 macrophages. These observations were associated with decreased NF-κB p65 phosphorylation and nuclear localization, enhanced Akt (protein kinase B) phosphorylation, as well as reduced inhibitor of κB (IκB)α degradation and IκB kinase α/β phosphorylation. 11Variable valence Mo^(5+)/Mo^(6+)ionic bridge in hollow spherical g-C_(3)N_(4)/Bi_(2)MoO_(6) catalysts for promoting selective visible light-driven CO_(2)photoreduction into CO显示文摘Herein,the catalysts of ultrathin g-C_(3)N_(4)surface-modified hollow spherical Bi2MoO6(g-C_(3)N_(4)/Bi2MoO6,abbreviated as CN/BMO)were fabricated by the co-solvothermal method.The variable valence Mo^(5+)/Mo^(6+)ionic bridge in CN/BMO catalysts can boost the rapid transfer of photogenerated electrons from Bi2MoO6to g-C_(3)N_(4).And the synergy effect of g-C_(3)N_(4)and Bi2MoO6components remarkably enhance CO_(2)adsorption capability.CN/BMO-2 catalyst has the best performances for visible light-driven CO_(2)reduction compared with single Bi2MoO6and g-C_(3)N_(4),i.e.,its amount and selectivity of CO product are 139.50μmol g-1and 96.88%for 9 h,respectively.Based on the results of characterizations and density functional theory calculation,the photocatalytic mechanism for CO_(2)reduction is proposed.The high-efficient separation efficiency of photogenerated electron-hole pairs,induced by variable valence Mo^(5+)/Mo^(6+)ionic bridge,can boost the rate-limiting steps(COOH*-to-CO*and CO*desorption)of selective visible light-driven CO_(2)conversion into CO.It inspires the establishment of efficient photocatalysts for CO_(2)conversion.Wenjie He Yuechang Wei Jing Xiong Zhiling Tang Yingli Wang Xiong Wang Hui Xu Xiao Zhang Xiaolin Yu Zhen Zhao Jian Liu 2023Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,5:1

18The underappreciated role of fugitive VOCs in ozone formation and health risk assessment emitted from seven typical industries in China显示文摘Fugitive emission from industrial sources may result in ozone formation and health risk,while the exact contribution of this source remains incompletely understood.In this study,emission characteristics,ozone formation potential(OFP)and health risk of fugitive VOCs in7 representative industries were investigated.Chemical material industry was the dominant contributor to VOCs of fugitive emission in comparison with other industries.The OFP of VOCs from fugitive emission was in the range of 1.45×10^(3)-3.98×10^(5)μg/m^(3),with a higher value than that of organized emission in seven industries except for the coking industry and the chemical material industry,suggesting that fugitive VOCs should be taken into account while developing control strategies.Acetaldehyde,m,p-xylene,n-nonane,ethylene,vinyl chloridethe and other high OFP-contributing species were the major reactive species that should be targeted.Health risk assessment investigated non-cancer and cancer risks of fugitive VOCs in 7 industries were all above safe level(HR>1 and LCR>1×10^(-4)),posing remarkable health threats to human health.OVOCs were the main contributor to non-cancer risk,while halohydrocarbons and aromatics contributed most to cancer risks,posing remarkable health threat on human health.Our findings highlighted the contribution of fugitive VOCs on ozone formation and health risk was underestimated,indicating which should be considered in emission control strategies of industrial sources.Zhiling Liang Yunjiang Yu Bingbing Sun Qian Yao Xihua Lin Yongsheng Wang Jianping Zhang Yingzi Li Xuefeng Wang Zhengzheng Tang Shexia Ma 2024Journal of Environmental Sciences2024,,2:0

20Development of Neural Network for BLSOM Clustering of HA Genes of Avian Influenza Viruses Isolated in Guangdong Province显示文摘A neural network classification method,and a batch-learning self-organizing map(BLSOM),was established using trinucleotide and tetranucleotide in the hemagglutinin gene sequences of 25 avian influenza viruses isolated in Guangdong Province. Statistical analysis and normalization of the fragment number were done and MATLAB function was used to simulate the human brain thinking for self-organizing learning. When the number of training steps was 100 and above,the strains could be successfully clustered.
