1Large aperture N31 neodymium phosphate laser glass for use in a high power laser facility显示文摘Large aperture Nd:phosphate laser glass is a key optical element for an inertial confinement fusion(ICF) facility. N31,one type of neodymium doped phosphate glasses, was developed for high peak power laser facility applications in China. The composition and main properties of N31 glass are given, together with those of LHG-8, LG-770, and KGSS-0180 Nd:phosphate laser glasses, from Hoya and Schott, and from Russia. The technologies of pot melting, continuous melting, and edge cladding of large size N31 phosphate laser glass are briefly described. The small signal gain profiles of N31 glass slabs from both pot melting and continuous melting at various values of the pumping energy of the xenon lamp are presented. 2Understanding the structural evolution of Au/WO_(2.7) compounds in hydrogen atmosphere by atomic scale in situ environmental TEM显示文摘Hydrogen energy is a resuscitated clean energy source and its sensitive detection in air is crucial due to its very low explosive limit.Metal oxide decorated with noble metal nanoparticles has been used for the enhancement of gas detection and exhibits superior sensitivity.Understanding the intrinsic mechanism of the detection and the enhancement mechanism is thus becoming a fundamental issue for the further development of novel metal/oxide compound gas-sensing materials.However,the correlation between the microstructural evolution,the charge transport and the complex sensing process has not yet been directly revealed and its atomic mechanism is still debatable.In this study,an Au/WO_(2.7) compound was synthesized and exhibited a strongly enhanced gas sensitivity to many reductive gases,especially H2.Aberration-corrected environmental transmission electron microscopy was used to investigate the atomic-scale microstructural evolution in situ during the reaction between H_(2) and Au/WO_(2.7) compound.Swing and sintering processes of the Au particles on the WO_(2.7) surface were observed under heating and gaseous environments,and no injection of hydrogen atoms was suggested.First principle calculations verified the swing and sintering processes,and they can be explained by the enhancement of H2 sensitivity.Fei Hui Chong Li Yanhui Chen Chunhui Wang Jingping Huang Ang Li Wei Li Jin Zou Xiaodong Han 2020Nano Research2020,13,11:6
3Two-dimensional Pd-based nanomaterials for bioapplications显示文摘Noble metal nanomaterials have been extensively explored in cancer diagnostic and therapeutic applications owing to their unique physical and chemical properties, such as facile synthesis, straightforward surface functionalization, strong photothermal effect, and excellent biocompatibility. Herein, we summarize the recent development of two-dimensional(2D) Pd-based nanomaterials and their applications in cancer diagnosis and therapy. Different synthetic strategies for Pd nanosheets and the related nanostructures, including Pd@Au, Pd@Ag nanoplates and mesocrystalline Pd nanocorolla, are first discussed.Together with their unique properties, the potential bioapplications of these 2D Pd nanomaterials are then demonstrated. With strong absorption in near-infrared(NIR) region, these nanomaterials have great potentials in cancer photothermal therapy(PTT). They also readily act as contrast agents in photoacoustic(PA) imaging or X-ray computed tomography(CT) to achieve image-guided cancer therapy. Moreover,significant efforts have been devoted to studying the combination of PTT and other treatment modalities(e.g., chemotherapy or photodynamic therapy) based on Pd nanomaterials. The remarkable synergistic or collaborative effects to achieve better therapeutic efficacy are discussed as well. Additionally, the biosafety of 2D Pd-based nanomaterials in vitro and in vivo was evaluated. 4Effect of glutathione on in vivo biodistribution and clearance of surface-modified small Pd nanosheets显示文摘Plasmonic Pd nanosheets have been emerging as promising materials for application in near-infrared(NIR) photothermal therapy(PTT) of cancer. However, animal in mice studies indicated that the original synthesized poly(vinylpyrrolidone)(PVP)-protected small Pd nanosheets(Pd-PVP) and some further surface-modified small Pd nanosheets such as Pd-PEG(SH) easily accumulated in reticuloendothelial system(RES) organs(liver, spleen, etc.) and were difficult to be cleared from these organs quickly. In the work, we surprisingly found that glutathione(GSH) could promote the clearance of surface-modified small Pd nanosheets(e.g. Pd-PVP, Pd-PEG(SH) and Pd-GSH) from the RES organs efficiently. The effects of GSH on the biodistribution and clearance of different surface-modified Pd nanosheets were investigated. Our results indicated that these surface-modified Pd nanosheets with or without GSH added caused no morbidity at target primary organs, and GSH can promote the clearance of different surface-modified Pd nanosheets in the order of Pd-PVP≈Pd-PEG(SH)>Pd-GSH. 6Effects of the crystallization time on the mesoporous structure,texture, morphology and styrene oxidation performances of V-MCM-41显示文摘The new V-MCM-41 molecular sieves with good ordered hexagonal mesoporous structure and crystallinity were synthesized through in-situ hydrothermal preparation method. The effects of the crystallization time were discussed. The synthesized samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction, N2adsorption/desorption, Fourier transformed infrared and scanning electron microscopy. The different structures, textures, morphologies of V-MCM-41 obtained with different crystallization times were observed and analyzed on the basis of the characterized results. The results showed that the V-MCM-41 molecular sieve obtained at 110 °C for 48 h crystallization times was of good spherical morphology, ordered hexagonal structure, most uniform pore size distribution and high surface area compared with other samples. Meanwhile, the V-MCM-41 molecular sieve with the high skeleton Si condensation and the good crystallinity was obtained. The heteroatom could be incorporated into MCM-41 framework with increasing crystallization times, which was beneficial to improve the catalytic activity and selectivity of pure siliceous MCM-41. 7Non-Hermitian control of confined optical skyrmions in microcavities formed by photonic spin-orbit coupling显示文摘Optical skyrmions formed by photonic spin–orbit(SO)coupling are of significant interest in high-dimensional optical information processing.We report the formation mechanism and non-Hermitian properties of skyrmionlike states in a circular confinement potential with photonic SO coupling,which is preferably realized in a concave-planar microcavity system.We show that the effective photonic gauge field leads to two split manifolds of degenerate skyrmions whose spin textures can be controlled via the non-Hermitian properties by introducing circularly polarized gain and loss,exhibiting dramatically discrepant evolutions at the two sides of the exceptional point(EP).Furthermore,the lifetime degeneracy can be lifted by spatially inhomogeneous pumping according to the non-Hermitian mechanism,enabling the possibility for the skyrmion laser.By introducing shape asymmetry of the confinement potential,a double EP evolution can be achieved,which allows non-Hermitian control of the SO coupled states with higher degrees of freedom.These results open the way for the non-Hermitian control of photonic spin in confined systems,which would be of great significance for the fundamentals of advanced optical information processing.XIAOXUAN LUO YIN CAI XIN YUE WEI LIN JINGPING ZHU YANPENG ZHANG FENG LI 2023Photonics Research2023,11,4:1

11Evaluation of Port Prosperity Based on High Spatial Resolution Satellite Remote Sensing Images显示文摘More and more ports appeared along China’s coastline, which destroyed natural coastline and coastal landscape. Some of them are inefficiency operations. It is important to evaluate operational efficiency of ports to reveal their position in regional competitive environment. In this study, high spatial resolution satellite remote sensing images were used to monitor ship number and plane area. The port-use prosperity index(PUI) was subsequently proposed to quantitatively describe port-use business and reveal port-use efficiency. The PUI was applied to six ports around the Bohai Sea, China. The number, scale, and plane of ships docked in these ports were easily monitored by the high spatial resolution satellite remote sensing images, and the PUI was calculated using a ship’s total plane area and length of docked coastline. The PUI is an objective and practical index for evaluating port-use efficiency. It can be used to compare differences in port use and indicate temporal port-use dynamics. The PUI values of Jingtang and Tianjin Ports were the highest(17.75 and 14.14, respectively), whereas that of Yantai Port was the lowest(8.31). The PUI values of the remaining ports were 9.0–10.70. A linear relationship existed between port throughput and PUI in the studied ports. 16Monolithic edge-cladding process for the elliptical disk of N31-type Nd-doped high-power laser glass显示文摘This paper investigates the monolithic edge-cladding process for the elliptical disk of N31-type Nd-doped phosphate laser glass,which will be utilized under liquid cooling conditions for high-power laser systems.The thermal stress,interface bubbles and residual refiectivity,which are due to high-temperature casting and bonding during the monolithic edge-cladding process,are simulated and determined.The applied mould is optimized to a rectangular cavity mould,and the casting temperature is optimized to 1000℃.The resulting lower bubble density makes the mean residual refiectivity as low as 6.75×10^(-5),which is enough to suppress the amplified spontaneous emission generated in the Nd-glass disk,and the resulting maximum optical retardation is converged to 10.2–13.3 nm/cm,which is a favourable base for fine annealing to achieve the stress specification of less than or equal to 5 nm/cm.After fine annealing at the optimized 520℃,the maximum optical retardation is as low as 4.8 nm/cm,and the minimum transmitted wavefront peak-to-valley value is 0.222 wavelength(632.8 nm).An N31 elliptical disk with the size of 194 mm×102 mm×40 mm can be successfully cladded by the optimized monolithic edge-cladding process,whose edge-cladded disk with the size of 200 mm×108 mm×40 mm can achieve laser gain one-third higher than that of an N21-type disk of the same size.Huiyu Chen Min Qian Youkuo Chen Xin Wang Jingping Tang Lei Wen Junjiang Hu Wei Chen Shubin Chen Lili Hu 2022High Power Laser Science and Engineering2022,10,2:1
