1Matrix metalloproteinases contribute to kidney fibrosis in chronic kidney diseases显示文摘Matrix metalloproteinases(MMPs) are members of the neutral proteinase family. They were previously thought to be anti-fibrotic because of their ability to degrade and remodel of extracellular matrix. However, recent studies have shown that MMPs are implicated in initiation and progression of kidney fibrosis through tubular cell epithelial–mesenchymal transition(EMT) as well as activation of resident fibroblasts, endothelial-mesenchymal transition(Endo MT) and pericyte-myofibroblast transdifferentiation. Interstitial macrophage infiltration has also been shown to correlate with the severity of kidney fibrosis in various chronic kidney diseases. MMPs secreted by macrophages, especially MMP-9, hasbeen shown by us to be profibrotic by induction of tubular cells EMT. EMT is mainly induced by transforming growth factor-β(TGF-β). However, MMP-9 was found by us and others to be up-regulated by TGF-β1 in kidney tubular epithelial cells and secreted by activated macrophages, resulting in EMT and ultimately kidney fibrosis. Therefore, MMP-9 may serve as a potential therapeutic target to prevent kidney fibrosis in chronic kidney disease. 4Design and baseline data of a populationbased metabonomics study of eye diseases in eastern China: the Yueqing Ocular Diseases Investigation显示文摘Background:China is undergoing a massive transition toward an urban and industrial economy.These changes will restructure the demographics and economy which will eventually influence the future patterns of disease.The risk factors of vision-impairing eye diseases remain ambiguous and poorly understood.Metabolomics is an ideal tool to understand and shed light on the ocular disease mechanisms for earlier treatment.This article aims to describe the design,methodology and baseline data of the Yueqing Ocular Diseases Investigation(YODI),a developed county population-based study to determine the prevalence and primary causes of visual impairment;also with metabonomics analysis we aimed to identify,predict and suggest some preventive biomarkers that cause blindness.Methods:A population-based,cross-sectional study.Randomized clustering sampling was used to identify adults aged 50 years and older in Xiangyang Town,Yueqing county-level City.The interviews covered demographic,behavioral,ocular risk factors and mental health state.The ocular examination included visual acuity,autorefraction,intraocular pressure,anterior and posterior segment examinations,fundus photography,retinal tomography and angiography,and visual field testing.Anthropometric measurements included height and weight,waist and hip circumference,blood pressure,pulse rate,electrocardiogram,and abdominal ultrasound scan.A venous blood sample was collected for laboratory tests and metabonomics studies.Results:Of the 5319 individuals recruited for the YODI,4769(89.7%)subjects were enrolled for analyses.The median age was 62.0 years,and 45.6%were male.The educational level of illiteracy or semi-illiteracy,primary,middle and high school or above was 29.8%,45.5%,20.1%,and 3.3%,respectively.Majority of the participants were female,younger,and less educated when compared with nonparticipants.The average body mass index and waist-hip ratios were 24.4±3.4 kg/m^(2) and 0.9±0.1 respectively.Blood sample collection reached a sample size of 1909(479 from subjects with selfreported diabetes and 1430 from one-third of the 4290 subjects without self-reported diabetes).Conclusions:The YODI provides population-based data with a high response rate(89.7%)on the prevalence and primary causes of major vision-impairing eye diseases in developed county areas in eastern China.Metabonomics analysis from YODI will provide further association of metabolic characteristics with the visual impairment eye diseases.The risk prediction model could be created and has the potential to be generalized to developed eastern areas in China for prevention.Yuxuan Deng Yuanbo Liang Sigeng Lin Liang Wen Jin Li Yue Zhou Meixiao Shen Jingwei Zheng Kemi Feng Yanting Sun Kwapong Willaim Robert Jia Qu Fan Lu 2020Eye and Vision2020,7,1:4
5Platelet-mediated adhesion facilitates leukocyte sequestration in hypoxia-reoxygenated microvessels显示文摘Leukocyte transendothelial migration and sequestration are two distinct outcomes following leukocyte adhesion to endothelium during ischemia-reperfusion injury, in which platelets may play a pivotal role. In the present study, we established an in vitro hypoxia-reoxygenation model to mimic ischemia-reperfusion injury and found platelet pre-incubation significantly increased leukocyte adhesion to endothelial cells after hyoxia-reoxygenation(over 67%). Blockade of endothelial-cell-expressed adhesion molecules inhibited leukocyte direct adhesion to endothelial cells, while platelet-mediated leukocyte adhesion was suppressed by blockade of platelet-expressed adhesion molecules. Further experiments revealed platelets acted as a bridge to mediate leukocyte adhesion, and platelet-mediated adhesion was the predominant pattern in the presence of platelets. However, platelet pre-incubation significantly suppressed leukocyte transendothelial migration after hypoxia-reoxygenation(over 31%), which could be aggravated by blockade of endothelial-cell-expressed adhesion molecules, but alleviated by blockade of platelet-expressed adhesion molecules. This would indicate that platelet-mediated adhesion disrupted leukocyte transendothelial migration. An in vivo mesenteric ischemia-reperfusion model demonstrated leukocyte transfusion alone caused mild leukocyte adhesion to reperfused vessels and subsequent leukocyte infiltration, while simultaneous leukocyte and platelet transfusion led to massive leukocyte adhesion and sequestration within reperfused microvessels. Our studies revealed platelets enhanced leukocyte adhesion to endothelial cells, but suppressed leukocyte transendothelial migration. 6Dynamic bivariate normal copula显示文摘Normal copula with a correlation coefficient between-1 and 1 is tail independent and so it severely underestimates extreme probabilities. By letting the correlation coefficient in a normal copula depend on the sample size, H¨usler and Reiss(1989) showed that the tail can become asymptotically dependent. We extend this result by deriving the limit of the normalized maximum of n independent observations, where the i-th observation follows from a normal copula with its correlation coefficient being either a parametric or a nonparametric function of i/n. Furthermore, both parametric and nonparametric inference for this unknown function are studied, which can be employed to test the condition by H¨usler and Reiss(1989). 9Global analysis of lysine succinylation in patchouli plant leaves显示文摘Lysine succinylation is a novel,naturally occurring posttranslational modification(PTM)in living organisms.Global lysine succinylation identification has been performed at the proteomic level in various species;however,the study of lysine succinylation in plant species is relatively limited.Patchouli plant(P.cablin(Blanco)Benth.,Lamiaceae)is a globally important industrial plant and medicinal herb.In the present study,lysine succinylome analysis was carried out in patchouli plants to determine the potential regulatory role of lysine succinylation in patchouli growth,development,and physiology.The global succinylation sites and proteins in patchouli plants were screened with an immunoprecipitation affinity enrichment technique and advanced mass spectrometry-based proteomics.Several bioinformatic analyses,such as function classification and enrichment,subcellular location predication,metabolic pathway enrichment and protein−protein interaction networking,were conducted to characterize the functions of the identified sites and proteins.In total,1097 succinylation sites in 493 proteins were detected in patchouli plants,among which 466 succinylation sites in 241 proteins were repeatedly identified within three independent experiments.The functional characterization of these proteins indicated that the tricarboxylic acid(TCA)cycle,oxidative phosphorylation,photosynthesis processes,and amino acid biosynthesis may be regulated by lysine succinylation.In addition,these succinylated proteins showed a wide subcellular location distribution,although the chloroplast and cytoplasm were the top two preferred cellular components.Our study suggested the important role of lysine succinylation in patchouli plant physiology and biology and could serve as a useful reference for succinylation studies in other medicinal plants.Xiaobing Wang Xiuzhen Chen Junren Li Xuanxuan Zhou Yanting Liu Liting Zhong Yun Tang Hai Zheng Jiyun Liu Ruoting Zhan Likai Chen 2019Horticulture Research2019,6,1:2
10From high-yield Ti3AlCN ceramics to high-quality Ti3CNTx MXenes through eliminating Al segregation显示文摘Ti3CNTx MXenes with unique electrical conductivity can be widely applied for supercapacitors and electromagnetic shielding.However,its relatively low-yield quaternary nitrogen-containing Ti3AlCN ce ramics precursor(less than 50%),due to the inevitable Al segregation during the synthesizing process,significantly hindered its widely commercial applications.Herein,we employed the controllable AlNoversaturation precursor strategy to precisely tune the phase transition point of quaternary Ti3AlCN ceramics to obtain high-yield Ti3 AlCN precursor for the purpose of high conductivity Ti3 CNTx MXenes.Combined energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer(XRD)with X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)characterizations,the yield of the quaternary nitrogen-containing Ti3 AlCN ceramics was evidently proved to be up to 70%,which is 1.4 times than that of previously reported works.Such relatively highyield quaternary Ti3AlCN is mainly ascribed to the elimination of Al segregation.Based on it,we further developed accordion-like two-dimensional(2D)MXene via hydrofluoric acid etch and vacuum freezedry.This novel accordion-like 2D Ti3CNTx MXene possesses high electrochemical capacitive properties(209 F/g).Therefore,this controllable AlN-oversaturation precursor strategy will pave a way to exploit costly high-yield MAX ceramics precursor for high conductivity MXenes and also play a powerful role in promoting their practical applications including electrical and magnetic engineering fields.Ningjun Chen Haichao Huang Zhong Xu Yanting Xie Da Xiong Xiang Chu Bingni Gu Bo Zheng Weili Deng Haitao Zhang Weiqing Yang 2020Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,4:1
11Band alignment and polarization engineering inκ-Ga_(2)O_(3)/GaN ferroelectric heterojunction显示文摘Ferroelectric-semiconductor heterostructures offer an alternative strategy to manipulate polarization towards advanced devices with engineered functionality and improved performance.In this work,we report on the heteroepitaxial construction,band structure alignment and polarization engineering of the single-phasedκ-Ga_(2)O_(3)/GaN ferroelectric/polar heterojunction.A type-II band alignment is determined at theκ-Ga_(2)O_(3)/GaN polar hetero-interface,with a valence band offset of(1.74±0.1)eV and a conduction band offset of(0.29■0.1)eV.Besides the band edge discontinuity,charge dipoles induced by spontaneous polarization lead to the observed band bending with built-in potentials of 0.9 and 0.33 eV,respectively,at theκ-Ga_(2)O_(3)surface andκ-Ga_(2)O_(3)/GaN interface.The polarization switching properties of ferroelectricκ-Ga_(2)O_(3)are identified with a remanent polarization of approximately 2.7μC/cm^(2)via the direct hysteresis remanent polarization/voltage(P-V)loop measurement.These findings allow the rational design ofκ-Ga_(2)O_(3)ferroelectric/polar heterojunction for the application of power electronic devices,advanced memories and even ultra-low loss negative capacitance transistors.Yanting Chen Hongkai Ning Yue Kuang Xing-Xing Yu He-He Gong Xuanhu Chen Fang-Fang Ren Shulin Gu Rong Zhang Youdou Zheng Xinran Wang Jiandong Ye 2022Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2022,65,7:1

19Advertisement vs.Monetary Subsidy:Which is Better for Remanufacturing?显示文摘The government subsidy plays an important role in the recycling and remanufacturing process of a closed-loop supply chain.This paper focuses on the impacts of different patterns of government subsidy on the chain members'profits and the environment.Furthermore,we develop three models in a supply chain including a manufacturer,a retailer and a collector,namely(1)the government invests public service advertisement to stimulate the remanufacturing process(Model AS);(2)the government offers only monetary subsidy to the collector(Model MS);(3)the government allocates the subsidy into two parts,namely both advertisement and monetary subsidy(Model HS).We find that,no matter which subsidy pattern the government adopts,both the manufacturer and the collector are beneficiaries of the government subsidy,and that such subsidizing activity is definitely conducive to the environmental sustainability.Taking into account the chain members,profits and the environmental impact,the optimal hybrid subsidy scheme(Model HS)is more beneficial than that in both Model MS and Model AS,which can be attributed to the combination of the incentives provided by the public service advertisement and the price attraction by the monetary subsidy.We also find that,for single advertisement and monetary subsidy,the amount of government subsidy will decide their merits and demerits.The direct monetary subsidy in Model MS will have a greater influence regarding to the supply quantity of used products than the mere advertisement subsidy in Model AS when the subsidy is relatively large.Yanting Huang Benrong Zheng Zongjun Wang 2020Journal of Systems Science and Systems Engineering2020,29,3:0
