1Gambogic acid induces mitochondria-dependent apoptosis by modulation of Bcl-2 and Bax in mantle cell lymphoma JeKo-1 cells显示文摘Aim: To study the mechanisms in gambogic acid (GA) -induced JeKo-1 human Mantle Cell Lymphoma cell apoptosis in vitro. Methods: The proliferation of GA-treated JeKo-1 cells was measured by CCK-8 assay and Ki-67 immunocytochemical detection. Apoptosis, cell cycle and mitochondrial membrane potential were measured by flow cytometric analysis. Caspase-3,-8 and -9 were detected by colorimetric assay. Bcl-2 and Bax were analyzed by Western blotting. Results: GA inhibited cell growth in a time-and dose-dependent manner. GA induces apoptosis in JeKo-1 cells but not in normal bone marrow cells, which was involved in reducing the membrane potential of mitochondria, activating caspases-3, -8 and -9 and decreasing the ratio of Bcl-2 and Bax without cell cycle arresting. 2Environmental changes during early-middle Holocene from the sediment record of the Chaohu Lake,Anhui Province显示文摘A typical lake sediment core is obtained from the Chaohu Lake in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River,Anhui Province,China.The timing scale is constrained by AMS 14 C dating method.Climate proxies such as pollen and grain size in the core are analyzed to reconstruct the environment changes at this site approximately between 9870 and 2170 cal.a BP.The results indicate that at the research area, the climate in the early-middle Holocene had evolved through 3 stages.From 9870 to 6040 cal.a BP, proxy records show a warm and dry climate with low water levels after the late-glacial period.During this stage,cool and dry events occurred at about 8910 and 6060-6030 cal.a BP.Then,between 6040 and 4860 cal.a BP,the climate was humid and vegetation was more flourishing in the Chaohu Lake Valley.The Holocene Optimum occurred at 5840-5500 cal.a BP in the Chaohu Lake,showing the best condition of water and heat.Elm Decline occurred at the period of 5380-4930 cal.a BP.Since 4860 cal.a BP,the climate was warm and dry through 2170 cal.a BP as shown in both pollen spectrum and grain-size histories.Two obvious dry events occurred in 3760 and 2170 cal.a BP,respectively.At 2170 cal.a BP,the water level of the Chaohu Lake reached the lowest as the lakebed possibly exposed. 3A comparative study of natural and experimental nano-sized grinding grain textures in rocks显示文摘In three shallow-level fault systems in eastern China, nano-sized (30―100 nm) grinding grain textures are found in the thin-shelled rheological layer representing frictional-viscous high strain field. The surface layer near slipping plane is composed of stacks of grinding grains with high sphericity and uniform nano-sized diameter, while the underlying layer appears as a mixture of irregular ones with diverse diameters. Rock deformation experiments indicate that the grinding grain texture is a common phenomenon in shearing fractures, suggesting a potential transition from sliding friction to rolling one during the rock deformation process. 4Effect of ozone on the performance of a hybrid ceramic membrane-biological activated carbon process显示文摘Two hybrid processes including ozonation-ceramic membrane-biological activated carbon(BAC)(Process A) and ceramic membrane-BAC(Process B) were compared to treat polluted raw water. The performance of hybrid processes was evaluated with the removal efficiencies of turbidity, ammonia and organic matter. The results indicated that more than 99% of particle count was removed by both hybrid processes and ozonation had no significant effect on its removal. BAC filtration greatly improved the removal of ammonia. Increasing the dissolved oxygen to 30.0 mg/L could lead to a removal of ammonia with concentrations as high as 7.80 mg/L and 8.69 mg/L for Processes A and B, respectively. The average removal efficiencies of total organic carbon and ultraviolet absorbance at 254 nm(UV254, a parameter indicating organic matter with aromatic structure) were 49% and 52% for Process A, 51% and 48% for Process B, respectively. Some organic matter was oxidized by ozone and this resulted in reduced membrane fouling and increased membrane flux by 25%–30%. 5Recent progress in studies layer in rock on the nano-sized particle shear planes显示文摘Since the 1990s, an ultramicro-particle texture in nano- or micron-sized scale has been continually found in shear planes of various rocks, and recently further progress was made in generic physical mechanisms. In this article, the characteristics of the nano-sized particle layer in rock shear planes (including widespread distribution, layering texture, non-linear genetic mechanism, and multiple functions) on an ultra micro-scale were briefly introduced and more information was obtained by analyzing cases from home and abroad. Our findings suggest that (1) there is a paragenetic relationship between the development of shear frictional- viscous and the formation of nano-sized particles, and (2) in the shear movement, partitioning, segregating, and layering in rocks are initiated by the sliding motion of the nano-sized particle layer. 9Nano-texture of penetrative foliation in metamorphic rocks显示文摘By observing four samples obtained from Jiangxi Province, China, under the scanning electron mi-croscope (SEM), we discovered that nano-particle layers were commonly formed on sliding planes of the penetrative foliation in metamorphic rocks. We also successfully reproduced this phenomenon with a tri-axial pressure experiment. Having gone through the granulitization-alienation-partition in the shear sliding process, the nano-particles (40-95 nm in diameter) display different individual shapes and dis-tinct layered textures. This nano-confinement layer is essentially a frictional-viscous stripe with vis-cous-elastic deformation. In the micro-domain stripe, activities in structural stress field-rheological physical field-geochemical field are very dynamic, corresponding to the three stages (i.e., shear sliding strengthening-weakening-exfoliating) of the foliation development in metamorphism rocks. 11The effect of nitrogen annealing on lithium ion intercalation in nickel-doped lithium trivanadate显示文摘The communication reports an exploratory experimental study on the effects of nitrogen annealing on lithium ion intercalation in nickel-doped lithium trivanadate cathodic electrodes for lithium ion batteries. It shows good rate performance with discharge capacities of 348.6,252.6, 191.9 and 96.7 m Ah g^(-1)at 0.2, 0.5, 1 and 5 C,respectively. 12Impacts of sodium hydroxide and sodium hypochlorite aging on polyvinylidene fluoride membranes fabricated with different methods显示文摘This study compared the effects of chemical aging on the polyvinylidene fluoride(PVDF)membranes fabricated with the methods of non-solvent induced phase separation(NIPS)(named NIPS-PVDF) and thermally induced phase separation(TIPS)(named TIPS-PVDF). The chemical solutions of sodium hypochlorite(NaClO) and sodium hydroxide(NaOH) were chosen at the concentration of 5000 mg/L. The equivalence of 5 and 10 years was respectively selected as the time of aging. The physicochemical evolutions of membrane aging are characterized on the base of morphology analysis, chemical components, permeation ability and mechanical properties. The aging of NIPS-PVDF membrane led to the elimination of surface hydrophilic additives, while NaO H focused on the dehydrofluorination process resulting in the formation of conjugated chains of polyene on the skeleton structure. The chemical components of the surface of TIPS-PVDF membrane were removed continuously during the aging processes of both NaClO and NaOH, which was caused by the saponification of surface additives and the chain scissions of skeleton structure, but without producing any obvious conjugated chains of polyene. All the aging processes led to the increase of contact angle and the decrease of mechanical properties, and the permeability was reduced first and increased later due to the enlargement of surface membrane pores and membrane block. With the influence of membrane aging, selectivity of membrane was decreased(except coliform bacteria). 14Effects of humic acid on recoverability and fractal structure of alum-kaolin flocs显示文摘Particle surface characteristics, floc recoverability and fractal structure of alum-kaolin flocs were investigated using in situ particle image velocimetry (PIV) and microbalance with or without humic acid. Experimental results indicated that the zeta potential of kaolin particle surface after adsorption of humic acid was related with humic acid concentration and its acid-base buffering capacity. Adsorption of humic acid resulted in more negative electrophoresis on the particle surface. Coagulant dosages for particles to form flocs would increase with increasing humic concentration. PIV was used to evaluate floc structural fragmentation, floc surface erosion as well as recoverability after high shear. It was found that the floc size during the steady phase of growth was small, while the regrowing capability decreased in the presence of humic acid. The recoverability was closely related with floc breakage modes including floc structural fragmentation and floc surface erosion. The fractal dimensions of alum-kaolin flocs by mass-size method based on microbalance would decrease with increasing humic concentration. 15Molecular dynamics simulation of aluminum inhibited leaching during ion-adsorbed type rare earth ore leaching process显示文摘Molecular dynamics simulation was adopted to study the interaction between sulfosalicylic acid and aluminum,lanthanum and yttrium,and adsorption on kaolinite surfaces.A complexation reaction occurs between sulfosalicylic acid and aluminum,with an interaction energy of-10472.05 kJ/mol.O—Al covalent bonds are formed with a peak value of 7.93,while there is only weak adsorption between sulfosalicylic acid and rare earth ions.A hydrogen bonding reaction with 13605.82 kJ/mol energy occurs between sulfosalicylic acid and the surface of kaolinite(100).Thus,sulfosalicylic acid can form a complex with free aluminum ions,and can also be adsorbed on kaolinite by hydrogen bonding with aluminum in kaolinite(100)surfaces.Leaching of ion-adsorbed type rare earth ore was performed with aluminum inhibited,results show that when sulfosalicylic acid dosage increases from 0 to 0.15 wt%,aluminum ion concentration in the leaching solution decreases from 273.23 to 47.19 mg/L.And the effect of leaching pH value on the effect of sulfosalicylic acid on aluminum inhibition was studied,the result shows that,when the leaching pH value is 4.0—5.0,the rare earth leaching rate and the aluminum ion concentration basically remain unchanged.The molecular dynamics simulation results were verified by detection and analysis of XPS and SEM.Dongmei Zhu Tingsheng Qiu Jianfeng Zhong Qinghua Zeng Xihui Fang 2019Journal of Rare Earths2019,37,12:4

17Improvement of Evaluation Methods for Cultivated Land Quality显示文摘As the existing cultivated land quality evaluation index system is unable to accurately evaluate the quality of cultivated land after land remediation,a modified land use coefficient method was established in this study to calculate the land use coefficient of cultivated land after land remediation. An evaluation index system was first established for the land utilization level of cultivated land in the remediation areas.After that,the land utilization level index before and after the remediation was evaluated separately. The ratio of the two was used as the correction factor to correct the original land use coefficient. The corrected land use coefficient was used to evaluate the quality of cultivated land. The quality evaluation and verification of the land remediation areas in Yuzhou City were conducted. It was found that the land use coefficient corrected by the modified method was more consistent with that calculated by production method 5 years after the project acceptance. 18Blue LED-pumped intense short-wave infrared luminescence based on Cr^(3+)-Yb^(3+)-co-doped phosphors显示文摘The growing demand for spectroscopy applications in the areas of agriculture,retail and healthcare has led to extensive research on infrared light sources.The ability of phosphors to absorb blue light from commercial LED and convert the excitation energy into long-wavelength infrared luminescence is crucial for the design of cost-effective and high-performance phosphor-converted infrared LEDs.However,the lack of ideal blue-pumped short-wave infrared(SWIR)phosphors with an emission peak longer than 900 nm greatly limits the development of SWIR LEDs using light converter technology.Here we have developed a series of SWIR-emitting materials with high luminescence efficiency and excellent thermal stability by co-doping Cr^(3+)-Yb^(3+) ion pairs into Lu_(0.2)Sc_(0.8)BO_(3) host materials.Benefitting from strong light absorption of Cr^(3+) in the blue waveband and very efficient Cr^(3+)→Yb^(3+) energy transfer,the as-synthesized Lu_(0.2)Sc_(0.8)BO_(3):Cr^(3+),Yb^(3+) phosphor emits intense SWIR light in the 900-1200 nm from Yb^(3+) under excitation with blue light at~460 nm.The optimized phosphor presents an internal quantum yield of 73.6%and the SWIR luminescence intensity at 100℃can still keep 88.4%of the starting value at 25℃.SWIR LED prototype device based on Lu0.2Sc0.8BO3∶Cr^(3+)Yb^(3+) phosphor exhibits exceptional luminescence performance,delivering SWIR radiant power of 18.4 mW with 9.3%of blue-to-SWIR power conversion efficiency and 5.0%of electricity-to-SWIR light energy conversion efficiency at 120 mA driving current.Moreover,under the illumination of high-power SWIR LED,covert information identification and night vision lighting have been realized,demonstrating a very bright prospect for practical applications.Yan Zhang Shihai Miao Yanjie Liang Chao Liang Dongxun Chen Xihui Shan Kangning Sun Xiao-Jun Wang 2022Light(Science & Applications)2022,11,6:3
19Key enzymes of the protocatechuate branch of the β-ketoadipate pathway for aromatic degradation in Corynebacterium glutamicum显示文摘Although the protocatechuate branch of the β-ketoadipate pathway in Gram- bacte- ria has been well studied, this branch is less understood in Gram+ bacteria. In this study, Cory- nebacterium glutamicum was cultivated with protocatechuate, p-cresol, vanillate and 4-hydroxybenzoate as sole carbon and energy sources for growth. Enzymatic assays indicated that growing cells on these aromatic compounds exhibited protocatechuate 3,4-dioxygenase activities. Data-mining of the genome of this bacterium revealed that the genetic locus ncg12314-ncg12315 encoded a putative protocatechuate 3,4-dioxygenase. The genes, ncg12314 and ncg12315, were amplified by PCR technique and were cloned into plasmid (pET21aP34D). Recombinant Escherichia coli strain harboring this plasmid actively expressed protocatechuate 3,4-dioxygenase activity. Further, when this locus was disrupted in C. glu- tamicum, the ability to degrade and assimilate protocatechuate, p-cresol, vanillate or 4-hydroxybenzoate was lost and protocatechuate 3,4-dioxygenase activity was disappeared. The ability to grow with these aromatic compounds and protocatechuate 3,4-dioxygenase activity of C. glutamicum mutant could be restored by gene complementation. Thus, it is clear that the key enzyme for ring-cleavage, protocatechuate 3,4-dioxygenase, was encoded by ncg12314 and ncg12315. The additional genes involved in the protocatechuate branch of the β-ketoadipate pathway were identified by mining the genome data publically available in the GenBank. 20Shallow crustal velocity structures revealed by active source tomography and fault activities of the Mianning–Xichang segment of the Anninghe fault zone, Southwest China显示文摘The Anninghe fault is a large left-lateral strike-slip fault in southwestern China. It has controlled deposition and magmatic activities since the Proterozoic, and seismic activity occurs frequently. The Mianning-Xichang segment of the Anninghe fault is a seismic gap that has been locked by high stress. Many studies suggest that this segment has great potential for large earthquakes(magnitude >7). We obtained three vertical velocity profiles of the Anninghe fault(between Mianning and Xichang) based on the inversion of P-wave first arrival times. The travel time data were picked from seismograms generated by methane gaseous sources and recorded by three linearly distributed across-fault dense arrays. The inversion results show that the P-wave velocity structures at depths of 0-2 km corresponds well with the local lithology. The Quaternary sediments have low seismic velocities, whereas the igneous rocks,metamorphic rocks, and bedrock have high seismic velocities. We then further discuss the fault activities of the two fault branches of the Anninghe fault in the study region based on small earthquakes(magnitudes between ML 0.5 and ML 2.5) detected by the Xichang array.The eastern fault branch is more active than the western branch and that the fault activities in the eastern branch are different in the northern and southern segments at the border of 28°21′N. The high-resolution models obtained are essential for future earthquake rupture simulations and hazard assessments of the Anninghe fault zone.
