| 1 | Significant association between ABO blood group and pancreatic cancer显示文摘AIM:To evaluate whether the ABO blood group is related to pancreatic cancer risk in the general population of the United States.METHODS:Using the University of Pittsburgh's clinicalpancreatic cancer registry,the blood donor database from our local blood bank (Central Blood Bank),and the blood product recipient database from the regional transfusion service (Centralized Transfusion Service) in Pittsburgh,Pennsylvania,we identified 274 pancreatic cancer patients with previously determined serological ABO blood group information.The ABO blood group frequency was compared between these patients and 708842 individual,community-based blood donors who had made donations to Pittsburgh's Central Blood Bank between 1979 and 2009.RESULTS:The frequency of blood group A was statistically significantly higher amongst pancreatic cancer patients compared to its frequency amongst the regional blood donors [47.63% vs 39.10%,odds ratio (OR)=1.43,P=0.004].Conversely,the frequency of blood group O was significantly lower amongst pancreatic cancer patients relative to the community blood donors (32.12% vs 43.99%,OR=0.60,P=0.00007).There were limited blood group B (n=38) and AB (n=17) pancreatic cancer patients;the overall P trend value comparing patient to donor blood groups was 0.001.CONCLUSION:The ABO blood group is associated with pancreatic cancer risk.Future studies should examine the mechanism linking pancreatic cancer risk to ABO blood group. | Julia B Greer Mark H Yazer Jay S Raval M Michael Barmada Randall E Brand David C Whitcomb | 2010 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2010，16，44： | 10 |

| 3 | Comparison of choroidal vessel thickness in children and adult eyes by enhanced-depth imaging optical coherence tomography imaging显示文摘AIM: To evaluate choroidal thickness, medium choroidal vessel thickness(MCVT) and large choroidal vessel thickness(LCVT) in normal children and adult subjects.METHODS: Manual measurements of subfoveal choroidal thickness(SFCT), MCVT and LCVT at subfoveal and 750 μm nasal and temporal to fovea locations were completed on enhanced-depth imaging optical coherence tomography(EDI-OCT) scans of normal children and adult subjects.RESULTS: Fifty adult and fifty-seven child subjects were included in the study(including 80 adult and 103 child eyes). Mean(±SD) SFCT of adult and children eyes in the study was 309.3±95.7 μm and 279.3±50.4 μm respectively. | 4 | Clinical application of concentrated bone marrow aspirate in orthopaedics:A systematic review显示文摘AIM To examine the evidence behind the use of concentrated bone marrow aspirate(c BMA) in cartilage, bone, and tendon repair; establish proof of concept for the use of cB MA in these biologic environments; and provide the level and quality of evidence substantiating the use of cB MA in the clinical setting.METHODS We conducted a systematic review according to PRISMA guidelines. EMBASE, MEDLINE, and Web of Knowledge databases were screened for the use of cB MA in the repair of cartilage, bone, and tendon repair. We extracted data on tissue type, cB MA preparation, cB MA concentration, study methods, outcomes, and level of evidence and reported the results in tables and text.RESULTS A total of 36 studies met inclusion/exclusion criteria and were included in this review. Thirty-one of 36(86%) studies reported the method of centrifugation and preparation of cB MA with 15(42%) studies reporting either a cell concentration or an increase from baseline. Variation of c BMA application was seen amongst the studies evaluated. Twenty-one of 36(58%) were level of evidence Ⅳ, 12/36(33%) were level of evidence Ⅲ, and 3/36(8%) were level of evidence Ⅱ. Studies evaluated full thickness chondral lesions(7 studies), osteochondral lesions(10 studies), osteoarthritis(5 studies), nonunion or fracture(9 studies), or tendon injuries(5 studies). Significant clinical improvement with the presence of hyaline-like values and lower incidence of fibrocartilage on T2 mapping was found in patients receiving cB MA in the treatment of cartilaginous lesions. Bone consolidation and time to bone union was improved in patients receiving cB MA. Enhanced healingrates, improved quality of the repair surface on ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging, and a decreased risk of re-rupture was demonstrated in patients receiving cB MA as an adjunctive treatment in tendon repair. CONCLUSION The current literature demonstrates the potential benefits of utilizing c BMA for the repair of cartilaginous lesions, bony defects, and tendon injuries in the clinical setting. This study also demonstrates discrepancies between the literature with regards to various methods of centrifugation, variable cell count concentrations, and lack of standardized outcome measures. | 7 | An update on the diagnosis of gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms显示文摘Gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms(GEP-NENs)arise from neuroendocrine cells found throughout the gastrointestinal tract and islet cells of the pancreas.The incidence and prevalence of GEP-NENs have been increasing each year due to higher awareness,improved diagnostic modalities,and increased incidental detection on cross-sectional imaging and endoscopy for cancer screening and other conditions and symptoms.GEP-NENs are a heterogeneous group of tumors and have a wide range in clinical presentation,histopathologic features,and molecular biology.Clinical presentation most commonly depends on whether the GEP-NEN secretes an active hormone.The World Health Organization recently updated the classification of GEP-NENs to introduce a distinction between high-grade neuroendocrine tumors and neuroendocrine carcinomas,which can be identified using histology and molecular studies and are more aggressive with a worse prognosis compared to high-grade neuroendocrine tumors.As our understanding of the biology of GEP-NENs has grown,new and improved diagnostic modalities can be developed and optimized.Here,we discuss clinical features and updates in diagnosis,including histopathological analysis,biomarkers,molecular techniques,and radiology of GEP-NENs.We review established diagnostic tests and discuss promising novel diagnostic tests that are currently in development or require further investigation and validation prior to broad utilization in patient care. | Jiayun M Fang Jay Li Jiaqi Shi | 2022 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2022，28，10： | 3 |
