| 1 | Analysis of monocyte chemotactic protein-1 gene polymorphism in patients with spontaneous bacterial peritonitis显示文摘AIM:To investigate a genetic polymorphism of the monocyte chemotactic protein-1 (MCP-1 ) gene in patients with spontaneous bacterial peritonitis (SBP).METHODS:MCP-1 genotyping was performed in 23 patients with SBP and 83 cirrhotic control patients with non-infected ascites.RESULTS:The frequency of carriers of the G-allele was lower in SBP patients but this difference did not reach statistical significance. However,in the subgroup of patients with alcoholic cirrhosis (n=80),carriers of the G-allele were significantly less frequent in SBP-patients (38.1%) than in cirrhotic controls (67.8%,P=0.021). | 10 | Reduced anoctamin 7(ANO7) expression is a strong and independent predictor of poor prognosis in prostate cancer显示文摘Objective:Anoctamin 7(ANO7)is a calcium2+-dependent chloride ion channel protein.Its expression is restricted to prostate epithelial cells.The exact function is unknown.This study aimed to analyze ANO7 expression and its clinical significance in prostate cancer(PCa).Methods:ANO7 expression was assessed by immunohistochemistry in 17,747 clinical PCa specimens.Results:ANO7 was strongly expressed in normal prostate glandular cells but often less abundant in cancer cells.ANO7 staining was interpretable in 13,594 cancer tissues and considered strong in 34.4%,moderate in 48.7%,weak in 9.3%,and negative in 7.6%.Reduced staining was tightly linked to adverse tumor features[high classical and quantitative Gleason grade,lymph node metastasis,advanced tumor stage,high Ki67 labeling index,positive surgical margin,and early biochemical recurrence(P<0.0001 each)].The univariate Cox hazard ratio for prostate-specific antigen(PSA)recurrence after prostatectomy in patients with negative vs.strong ANO7 expression was 2.98(95%confidence interval 2.61–3.38).The prognostic impact was independent of established pre-or postoperatively available parameters(P<0.0001).Analysis of annotated molecular data showed that low ANO7 expression was linked to TMPRSS2:ERG fusions(P<0.0001),elevated androgen receptor expression(P<0.0001),as well as presence of 9 of 11 chromosomal deletions(P<0.05 each).A particularly strong association of low ANO7 expression with phosphatase and tensin homolog(PTEN)deletion may indicate a functional relationship with the PTEN/AKT pathway.Conclusions:These data identify reduced ANO7 protein expression as a strong and independent predictor of poor prognosis in PCa.ANO7 measurement,either alone or in combination,might provide clinically useful prognostic information in PCa. | Andreas Marx Lena Koopmann Doris Hoflmayer Franziska Büscheck Claudia Hube-Magg Stefan Steurer Till Eichenauer Till S.Clauditz Waldemar Wilczak Ronald Simon Guido Sauter Jakob R.Izbicki Hartwig Huland Hans Heinzer Markus Graefen Alexander Haese Thorsten Schlomm Christian Bernreuther Patrick Lebok Sarah Bonk | 2021 | Cancer Biology & Medicine2021，18，1： | 3 |

Depending on the fiber type and arrangementt the following can be achieved: a very high tensile strength and stiffness or fatigue strength, a zero or negative thermal expension, a rather high damping capability and a very high thermal and electrical insulating performance. But even carbon fibers can be converted into excellent electrical conductors when calined with fluorine. However, the shear properties of fiber composites with a polymeric matrix are medium. Extreme mechanical and thermal cryogenic properties will be discussed and compared to those of other material classes. Special emphasis is put on present and future cryogenic applications including storage and transportation of hydrogen or liquefied gases. Gas permeation through composites afier mechani-cal and thermal cycling and modifications for a better performance will be discassed.Further trends for getting advanced materials will finish the presentation. | G. | 14 | Clinical outcome after orbital floor fracture reduction with special regard to patient's satisfaction显示文摘Purpose: Primary reconstruction via transconjunctival approach is a standardized treatment option for orbital floor fractures. The aim of this study was to compare the findings of specific ophthalmologic assessment with the patient's complaints after fracture reduction. Methods: A retrospective medical chart analysis was performed on patients who had undergone transconjunctival orbital floor fracture reduction for fracture therapy with resorbable foil (ethisorb sheet or polydioxanone foil). A follow-up assessment including ophthalmological evaluation regarding visual acuity (eye chart projector), binocular visual field screening (Bagolini striated glasses test) and diplopia (cover test, Hess screen test) was conducted. Additionally, a questionnaire was performed to assess patients' satisfaction. Results: A total of 53 patients with a mean follow-up of 23 months (ranging from 11 to 72) after surgical therapy were included. Diplopia was present preoperatively in 23 (43.4%) and reduced in follow-up examination (n = 12, 22.6%). Limitations in ocular motility reduced from 37.7% to 7.5%. The questionnaire about the patient's satisfaction revealed excellent outcomes in relation to the functional and esthetical parameters. Conclusion: Transconjunctival approach is a safe approach for orbital fracture therapy.
