6Ethanol extract of Chondracanthus tenellus(Harvey)Hommersand attenuates lipopolysaccharide-induced inflammatory and oxidative response by blocking the NF-κB,MAPKs,and PI3K/Akt signaling pathways显示文摘Objective:To investigate whether the ethanol extract of Chondracanthus tenellus(Harvey)Hommersand,a type of red algae,could exhibit anti-inflammatory potential in lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-stimulated macrophages.Methods:The ethanol extract of Chondracanthus tenellus was applied to 100 ng/mL LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells,and cell viability,phagocytic ability,levels of pro-inflammatory factors,and the production of reactive oxygen species were measured.To identify the underlying mechanism of the ethanol extract of Chondracanthus tenellus,the expression of inflammation-regulated genes was estimated.Results:The ethanol extract of Chondracanthus tenellus had no cytotoxic effect at concentrations below 300μg/mL,and reduced the LPS-induced production of inflammatory mediators including nitric oxide(NO)and prostaglandin E2.Furthermore,the extract markedly suppressed the expression of inducible NO synthase and cyclooxygenase-2,as well as the production of reactive oxygen species.The LPS-induced up-regulation of pro-inflammatory cytokines was attenuated by treatment with the ethanol extract of Chondracanthus tenellus,reducing their extracellular secretion.The Chondracanthus tenellus extract also inhibited LPS-mediated activation of nuclear factor-kappa B(NF-κB).In addition,the phosphorylation of mitogen activated protein kinases(MAPKs)and phosphatidylinositol 3 kinase(PI3K)/Akt was markedly increased by LPS,which was significantly abolished by the Chondracanthus tenellus extract.Conclusions:Our findings indicate that the ethanol extract of Chondracanthus tenellus exhibited potential anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects through downregulating the NF-κB,MAPKs,and PI3K/Akt signaling pathways in LPS stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages.tenellus extract.Conclusions:Our findings indicate that the ethanol extract of Chondracanthus tenellus exhibited potential anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects through downregulating the NF-κB,MAPKs,and PI3K/Akt signaling pathways in LPS stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages.Da Hye Kwon Cheol Park Hyesook Lee Su Hyun Hong Gi-Young Kim Hee-Jae Cha Suhkmann Kim Heui-Soo Kim Hye-Jin Hwang Yung Hyun Choi 2021Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine2021,11,10:4
7An AGAMOUS-like factor is associated with the origin of two domesticated varieties in Cymbidium sinense (Orchidaceae)显示文摘Cymbidium has been artificially domesticated for centuries in Asia,which produced numerous cultivated varieties.Flowers with stamenoid tepals or those with multiple tepals have been found in different species of Cymbidium;however,the molecular basis controlling the formation of these phenotypes is still largely unknown.Previous work demonstrated that AGAMOUS/AG lineage MADS genes function in floral meristem determinacy as well as in reproductive organs development in both dicots and monocots,indicating a possible relationship with the origin of two flower varieties in Cymbidium.Here,we characterized and analyzed two AG lineage paralogues,CsAG1 and CsAG2,from Cymbidium sinense,both of which were highly expressed in the gynostemium column of a standard C.sinense.Interestingly,we detected ectopic expression of CsAG1 rather than CsAG2 in all floral organs of a stamenoid-tepal variety and significant down-regulation of CsAG1 in a variety with multiple tepals.Over-expression of CsAG1 in wild type Arabidopsis resulted in petal-to-stamen homeotic conversion,suggesting a conserved C-function of CsAG1 in the development of Cymbidium flower.Altogether,our results supported a hypothesis that disruption of a single AG-like factor would be associated with the formation of two domesticated varieties in C.sinense.Shihao Su Xiaoyu Shao Changfa Zhu Jiayin Xu Yuhuan Tang Da Luo Xia Huang 2018Horticulture Research2018,5,1:4
8Synthesis,structure and optical properties of novel thermally robust Dy^(3+)-doped Ca_(9)Sc(PO_(4))_(7) phosphors for NUV-excited white LEDs显示文摘The powder samples of Ca_(9)Sc(PO_(4))_(7):xDy^(^(3+))white emitting phosphors were prepared via a solid state reaction technique.The Ca_(9)Sc(PO_(4))_(7):Dy^(3+)samples were researched by using the GSAS Rietveld refinement and X-ray diffraction(XRD) methods,and SEM images and elemental maps were recorded.Under 350 nm excitatio n,the emission spectra of Ca_(9)Sc(PO_(4))_(7):xDy^(3+)samples have two obvious peaks and one weak peak at 484,572 and660 nm,corresponding to the characteristic electron transitions of(^(4)F_(9/2)→ ^(6)H_(15/2),blue),(^(4)F_(9/2)→ ^(6)H_(13/2),yellow) and(^(4)F_(9/2)→ 6 H11/2,red),respectively.The concentration quenching effect,decay lifetime and thermal quenching of the as-synthesized Ca_(9)Sc(PO_(4))_(7):Dy^(3+)samples were researched systematically.The Ca_(9)Sc(PO_(4))_(7):0.02 Dy^(3+)phosphor possesses a good thermal stability,of which the emission intensity at 423 K can maintain 79% of the initial value(273 K).In addition,through the study of the chro maticity coordinates of the Ca_(9)Sc(PO_(4))_(7):0.02 Dy^(3+)phosphor,it is found that it is located in the white region,and the Commission Internationalede L’Eclairage(CIE) chromaticity coordinates are(0.339,0.389),The above results show that Ca_(9)Sc(PO_(4))_(7):xDy^(3+)phosphors can be excellent candidate material for applications in NUV-excited white LEDs.Haiyan Wu Huimin Li Lihong Jiang Ran Pang Su Zhang Da Li Guanyu Liu Chengyu Li Jing Feng Hongjie Zhang 2021Journal of Rare Earths2021,39,3:4

11Inverse relations between Helicobacter pylori infection and risk of esophageal precancerous lesions in drinkers and peanut consumption显示文摘BACKGROUND Helicobacter pylori(H. pylori) is a Gram-negative bacterium found in the upper digestive tract. Although H. pylori infection is an identified risk factor for gastric cancer, its role in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC) remains a topic of much debate.AIM To evaluate the association between H. pylori infection and the risk of precancerous lesions of ESCC, and further explore the association between dietary factors and the risk of H. pylori infection.METHODS Two hundred patients with esophageal precancerous lesions(EPL) aged 63.01 ± 6.08 years and 200 healthy controls aged 62.85 ± 6.03 years were included in this case-control study. Epidemiological data and qualitative food frequency data were investigated. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay measuring serum immunoglobulin G antibodies was used to determine H. pylori seropositivity. An unconditional logistic regression model was used to assess the association between H. pylori infection and EPL risk dichotomized by gender, age, and the use of tobacco and alcohol, as well as the association between dietary factors and the risk of H. pylori infection.RESULTS A total of 47(23.5%) EPL cases and 58(29.0%) healthy controls had positive H. pylori infection. An inverse relation between H. pylori infection and the risk of EPL was found in the group of drinkers after adjustment for covariates [odds ratio(OR) = 0.32, 95% confidence interval(95%CI): 0.11-0.95]. Additionally, peanut intake was significantly associated with a decreased risk of H. pylori infection(OR = 0.39, 95%CI: 0.20-0.74).CONCLUSION Our study suggested that H. pylori infection may decrease the risk of EPL for drinkers in a rural adult Chinese population, and the consumption of peanut may reduce the risk of H. pylori infection. 12Genetic control of compound leaf development in the mungbean(Vigna radiata L.)显示文摘Many studies suggest that there are distinct regulatory processes controlling compound leaf development in different clades of legumes.Loss of function of the LEAFY(LFY)orthologs results in a reduction of leaf complexity to different degrees in inverted repeat-lacking clade(IRLC)and non-IRLC species.To further understand the role of LFY orthologs and the molecular mechanism in compound leaf development in non-IRLC plants,we studied leaf development in unifoliate leaf(un)mutant,a classical mutant of mungbean(Vigna radiata L.),which showed a complete conversion of compound leaves into simple leaves.Our analysis revealed that UN encoded the mungbean LFY ortholog(VrLFY)and played a significant role in leaf development.In situ RNA hybridization results showed that STM-like KNOXI genes were expressed in compound leaf primordia in mungbean.Furthermore,increased leaflet number in heptafoliate leaflets1(hel1)mutants was demonstrated to depend on the function of VrLFY and KNOXI genes in mungbean.Our results suggested that HEL1 is a key factor coordinating distinct processes in the control of compound leaf development in mungbean and its related non-IRLC legumes.Keyuan Jiao Xin Li Shihao Su Wuxiu Guo Yafang Guo Yining Guan Zhubing Hu Zhenguo Shen Da Luo 2019Horticulture Research2019,6,1:2

combinations are proposed where necessary to improve our traditional species concepts and provide updates on their classification.In addition to extensive morphological descriptions and appropriate asexual and sexual connections,DNA sequence data are also analysed from concatenated datasets(rDNA,TEF-a,RBP2 and b-Tubulin)to infer phylogenetic relationships and substantiate systematic position of 20Intranasal Immunization Using CTA1-DD as a Mucosal Adjuvant for an Inactivated Influenza Vaccine显示文摘Objective To evaluate the effect of intranasal immunization with CTA1-DD as mucosal adjuvant combined with H3N2 split vaccine. Methods Mice were immunized intranasally with PBS(negative control), or H3N2 split vaccine(3 μg/mouse) alone, or CTA1-DD(5 μg/mouse) alone, or H3N2 split vaccine(3 μg/mouse) plus CTA1-DD(5 μg/mouse). Positive control mice were immunized intramuscularly with H3N2 split vaccine(3 μg/mouse) and alum adjuvant. All the mice were immunized twice, two weeks apart. Then sera and mucosal lavages were collected. The specific HI titers, IgM, IgG, IgA, and IgG subtypes were examined by ELISA. IFN-γ and IL-4 were test by ELISpot. In addition, two weeks after the last immunization, surivival after H3N2 virus lethal challenge was measured. Results H3N2 split vaccine formulated with CTA1-DD could elicit higher Ig M, Ig G and hemagglutination inhibition titers in sera. Furthermore, using CTA1-DD as adjuvant significantly improved mucosal secretory Ig A titers in bronchoalveolar lavages and vaginal lavages. Meanwhile this mucosal adjuvant could enhance Th-1-type responses and induce protective hemagglutination inhibition titers. Notably, the addition of CTA1-DD to split vaccine provided 100% protection against lethal infection by the H3N2 virus.
