| 1 | Ebola virus disease: past, present and future显示文摘Ebola virus disease is one of the most deadly ailments known to mankind due to its high mortality rate(up to 90%) accompanying with the disease. Ebola haemorrhagic fever(EHF) is an infectious disease of animal that can be transmitted to both human and non-human primates. The first epidemic of EHF occurred in 1976 in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The incubation period of ebola is less than 21 days. Ebola virus infections are depicted by immune suppression and a systemic inflammatory response that leads to damage of the vascular, coagulation and immune systems, causing multi-organ failure and shock. Five genetically distinct members of the Filoviridae family responsible for EHF are as follows: Zaire ebolavirus, Sudan ebolavirus, C?te d'Ivoire ebolavirus, Bundibugyo ebolavirus and Reston ebolavirus. The ongoing 2014 West Africa ebola epidemic has been considered as the most serious panic in the medical field with respect to both the number of human cases and death toll. The natural host for ebola virus is unknown, thus it is not possible to carry out programs to regulate or abolish virus from transmission to people. The ebola virus infection provides little chance to develop acquired immunity causing rapid progression of the disease. It is pertinent to mention that at present, there is no antiviral therapy or vaccine that is helpful against ebola virus infection in humans. | 2 | Systemic meta-analysis assessing the short term applicability of early conversion to mammalian target of rapamycin inhibitors in kidney transplant显示文摘AIM To consolidate the present evidence of effectiveness in renal functioning and graft survival following early introduction of mammalian target of rapamycin(m TOR) inhibitors with or without calcineurin inhibitors(CNIs) in renal transplant recipients.METHODS We analysed the current literature following PROSPERO approval describing the role of immunosuppressive agent, m TOR inhibitors as an alternative to CNI within six months of renal transplant by searching the Pub Med, EMBASE, Cochrane, Crossref, and Scopus using Me SH terms. RESULTS Six articles of early withdrawal of CNI and introduction of m TOR-inhibitors within six months of renal transplantation were sought. Glomerular filtration rate(GFR) and serum creatinine were significantly better in m TOR inhibitor group with equivalent survival at 12 mo, even though Biopsy Proven Acute rejection was significantly higher in m TOR-inhibitor group. CONCLUSION The evidence reviewed in this meta-analysis suggests that early introduction m TOR-inhibitors substantial CNI minimization. The m TOR inhibitors such as everolimus and sirolimus, due to their complementary mechanism of action and favourable nephrotoxicity profile; better glomerular filtration, lower serum creatinine with equivalent survival. | 9 | Elemental variations in glacier cryoconites of Indian Himalaya and Spitsbergen,Arctic显示文摘Cryoconite samples were collected from two different climatic domains i.e.,the Sutri Dhaka glacier,western Himalaya India and Svalbard glaciers,the Spitsbergen,Arctic,to understand the elemental source and elemental deposition patterns.The data of geochemical analysis suggest that the Himalayan cryoconite samples accumulate higher concentrations as compared to the cryoconite samples of the Arctic glaciers.The concentration of lithophile elements(Cs,Li,Rb and U)was recorded higher in the cryoconite holes of the Himalayas,especially,in the lower to the higher parts of the glacier,whereas,lower concentrations were recorded in the Arctic samples.Chalcophile elements in the Himalayan cryoconites are enriched in As and Bi while the Arctic cryoconite samples show a higher concentration of Bi,Pb and As.The higher concentrations are responsible for influencing the ecosystem and in human health related issues.Siderophile elements(Co,Fe,Mn and Ni)show high concentrations in the Himalayan samples,whereas,the Arctic samples show minor variations and low elemental concentration in these elements,respectively.In addition,a few elements,such as Ag,Mg,and Ca show higher concentration in the Himalayan glacier samples.Ca also occurs in high concentrations in Arctic glacier samples.R-mode factor analysis of the Himalayas(Arctic)samples indicate that the elements are distributed in four(three)factors,explaining 89%(90%)of the variance in their elemental distribution.The Factor 1 suggests statistically significant positive loadings for most of the lithophile,chalcophile and siderophile elements of the 'Himalayan' and the Arctic cryoconite samples.The sample-wise factor score distribution shows a considerable variation in the sampling locations along the glaciers of both the regions.Factors 2 and 3,demonstrate insignificant loading for most of the elements,except statistically significant positive loading in some of the elements of the both,Himalayan and Arctic 'cryoconites'.The higher elemental concentration in the cryoconites of the Himalayan region may be an indicator of the natural processes and/or attributed to the rapid industrialization in the Asian countries. | Shiv Mohan Singh Kumar Avinash Parmanand Sharma Ravindra Uttam Mulik Ajay Kumar Upadhyay Rasik Ravindra | 2017 | Geoscience Frontiers2017,8,6: | 1 |

| 13 | Assessment of long-term climate variability and its impact on the decadal growth of horticultural crops in central India显示文摘Background:The impact of climate change on horticultural production is of utmost concern worldwide.One such vulnerable region of horticultural importance is the Madhya Pradesh state in the central part of India.It is crucial to analyse the long-term trend in climatic variations and its effect on horticultural crop production.Therefore,this study focuses on detecting trends in mean annual precipitation and temperature of 115 years for the 15 districts covering all the regions of the state as well as projections of all the Representative Concentration Pathway(RCP)climatic scenarios for 2050 and 2080 of Madhya Pradesh state.The decadal(2010–2020)insight into the area and production of horticultural crops is undertaken which will help forecasting the future growth trend.For a better insight,case study on four horticultural crops is undertaken to assess their decadal growth trend vis-à-vis climate parameters in these 15 districts.Results:The Mann–Kendall test for 1901–2016 and Sen’s slope indicated a non-significant change in long-term trend for precipitation except for increasing change in Khargone and decreasing change in Rewa districts.Signifi-cant increasing trend of average temperature is obtained for Hoshangabad,Jabalpur,Sagar and Rewa districts.The Sen’s slope indicated an increase of 0.005 to 0.009℃for maximum temperature and 0.005 to 0.012℃for minimum temperature annually.The projections of all the RCP climate scenarios for the years 2050 and 2080 indicated non-significant variation in precipitation but an increase in maximum(1.4 to 4.1℃)and minimum(1.45 to 4.65℃)annual temperatures.An increasing trend in area and production for horticultural crops is also observed in central India for the study period.There is yield increase in all the crops selected in case study except for potato,which recorded a decreased yield between the years 2010–2015.Conclusion:The Mann–Kendall test and projections indicate towards climate change with a temperature rise.Though the decadal study indicates an increasing trend in horticultural crops,the districts identified to be affected by climate change need to have a plan to lessen the horticultural loss in the state.This study contributes to understand-ing the future climate change trends and its impact on horticultural crop production to formulate various adaptation strategies. | Gaurav Sharma Amita Sharma Nishant Kumar Sinha Om Prakash Sharma Ashutosh Singh Ajai Kumar Pandey Abhishek Kumar Sudhir Kumar Trivedi Bharti Sao Mukesh Kumar Sahu | 2022 | Ecological Processes2022,11,1: | 0 |
| 14 | Belatacept in renal transplantation in comparison to tacrolimus and molecular understanding of resistance pattern:Meta-analysis and systematic review显示文摘BACKGROUND The T-cell costimulation blocking agent belatacept has been identified as a possible substitute for calcineurin inhibitors,however,no consensus has been established against its use over the standard care agent Tacrolimus.AIM To evaluate the effectiveness of belatacept based maintenance immunosuppressive regimens in comparison to tacrolimus in renal transplantion.METHODS We did extensive search of all the available literature comparing the role of belatacept to tacrolimus in renal transplant recipients by searching the PubMed,Embase,Cochrane,Crossref,Scopus,clinical trials registry on October 5,2020.RESULTS The literature search identified four randomized controlled trials(n=173 participants)comparing belatacept with tacrolimus.There was no significant difference in estimated renal function at 12 mo[mean difference 4.12 mL/min/1.73 m^(2),confidence interval(CI):-2.18 to 10.42,P=0.20].Further,belatacept group was associated with significant increase in biopsy proven acute rejection[relative risk(RR)=3.27,CI:0.88 to 12.11,P=0.08]and worse 12 mo allograft survival(RR=4.51,CI:1.23 to 16.58,P=0.02).However,incidence of new onset diabetes mellitus was lower with belatacept at 12 mo(RR=0.26,CI:0.07 to 0.99,P=0.05).CONCLUSION The evidence reviewed in this meta-analysis suggested that belatacept-based maintenance immunosuppression regimens were associated with an increased risk allograft loss in renal transplant recipients with equivalent renal functioning against standard tacrolimus;however,observed significantly reduced new onset diabetes mellitus after transplantation incidence and lower serum low density lipid profile levels in belatacept group.In addition,the adaptation of belatacept in renal transplantation has been forestalled by increased rates of rejection and resistance owing to development of various effector memory T cells through,parallel differentiation and immunological plasticity. | Jayant Kumar Isabella Reccia Francesco Virdis Mauro Podda Ajay Kumar Sharma Ahmed Halawa | 2021 | World Journal of Transplantation2021,11,3: | 0 |

| 17 | Silicon and plant nutrition—dynamics,mechanisms of transport and role of silicon solubilizer microbiomes in sustainable agriculture:A review显示文摘Silicon(Si)is the second most abundant element in the Earth’s crust and has numerous roles in both soils and plants,although it is inaccessible to plants in its native state(insoluble silicate minerals).This inaccessibility can lead to insufficiency,which induces anomalies in plant growth and development.Specifically,Si alleviates various biotic and abiotic stresses in plants by enhancing tolerance mechanisms at different stages of uptake/deposition as a monosilicic acid.Exclusive utilization of conventional Si fertilizers to boost agricultural productivity in an attempt to meet the world’s ever-increasing food demand may result in surface and groundwater pollution,waterway eutrophication,soil fertility depletion,and accumulation of hazardous elements such as arsenic in soil.By addressing the drawbacks of chemical fertilizers,this review emphasizes an environmentally friendly alternative,namely,Si-solubilizing microorganisms(SSMs),as bioinoculants to liberate soluble Si and thus making it available to plants.A deep understanding of recent advances in the functional diversity,colonization patterns,modes of action,role in biogeochemical cycling,and plant stress tolerance of SSMs and their implementation in Si-based agrowaste management through the fabrication of nanoparticles,could help to establish a reliable tool for economically and environmentally sustainable agriculture.From this perspective,in this review,we comprehensively summarize the latest methodologies for the isolation,screening,and characterization of SSMs and Si solubilization mechanisms,including ligands(divalent cations),acids(inorganic and organic),alkali(nucleophilic attack),extracellular polysaccharides,and factors affecting them,as well as Si-mediated regulation of gene expression involved in Si uptake,transportation,and mineralization.We have critically revised the role of SSMs according to the current literature.The contributions of SSMs to biofertilization are still being explored;hence,we also discuss trajectories for future research in relation to SSM-mediated increases in bioavailable Si.This will create new strategies to reduce the use of agrochemicals,improve plant health,and help us to globally gravitate towards more sustainable agricultural practices,based on the concept of a circular economy. | Barkha SHARMA Kailash Chand KUMAWAT Shalini TIWARI Ajay KUMAR Rouf Ahmad DAR Ummed SINGH Massimiliano CARDINALE | 2023 | Pedosphere2023,33,4: | 0 |
