| 1 | Mo SILTCIDE SYNTHISIS BY DUAL ION BEAM DEPOSITION显示文摘Mo suicides Mo5 Si3 with high quality were prepared using ion beam deposition equipment with two Filter Metal Vacuum Arc Deposition (FMEVAD). When the number of alternant deposition times was 198, total thickness of the coating is 40nm. The coatings with droplet free can be readily obtained, so the surface is smooth. TEM observation shows that Mo and Si alternant deposition coating is compact structure. The fine Mo suicide grains densely distributed in the coating. | 3 | PRECIPITATION AND GROWTH OF PEROVSKITE PHASE IN TITANIUM BEARING BLAST FURNACE SLAG显示文摘The effects of transformation of slag composition and additive agents on the morphology, the precipitation behavior, the crystal growth, and the volume fraction (VF) of perovskite (CaO·¤TiO_2) crystal in the Ti-bearing blast furnace slags were investigated. As the morphology of perovskite is dispersed in molten slags, the crystal growth mechanism of the melting of fine dendrites and the coarsening of large grains exist throughout the solidification of molten slags. With the increase of CaO and Fe_2O_3 content, VF of perovskite obviously increases. However, high basicity leads to the viscosity of slag, which results in the reduction of the average equivalent diameter (AED). The experimental results showed that the presence of the additives CaF_2 and MnO efficiently decreased the viscosity of the slags, and obviously improved the morphology of perovskite and promoted its growth. | Z.Z. | 4 | Inactivation of infectious bursal disease virus by binary ethylenimine and formalin显示文摘In this experiment conducted to study the inactivation dynamics of infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV) by binary ethylenimine (BEI) in comparison with formalin, IBDV was isolated from the bursa of infected chickens and its confirmation was done by agar gel precipitation test. Viral suspensions were subjected to inactivation with BEI and formalin for pre-set time in-tervals. BEI was employed at concentrations of 0.001 and 0.002 mol/L while formalin was used at 0.1% and 0.2%. Sampling was done at 6, 12, 24, 36 and 48 h of incubation and samples were tested for their inactivation status in 9-day-old embryonated eggs and 3-week-old broiler chickens. IBDV was completely inactivated by 0.001 and 0.002 mol/L BEI after 36 h of incubation at 37 °C, whereas formalin at 0.1% and 0.2% concentrations inactivated IBDV in 24 h. | HABIB M. HUSSAIN I. | 6 | Apoptosis in inner ear sensory hair cells显示文摘Apoptosis, or controlled cell death, is a normal part of cellular lifespan. Cell death of cochlear hair cells causes deafness; an apoptotic process that is not well understood. Worldwide, 1.3 billion humans suffer some form of hearing loss, while 360 million suffer debilitating hearing loss as a direct result of the absence of these cochlear hair cells(Worldwide Hearing, 2014). Much is known about apoptosis in other systems and in other cell types thanks to studies done since the mid-20 th century. Here we review current literature on apoptosis in general, and causes of deafness and cochlear hair cells loss as a result of apoptosis. The family of B-cell lymphoma(Bcl) proteins are among the most studied and characterized. We will review current literature on the Bcl2 and Bcl6 protein interactions in relation to apoptosis and their possible roles in vulnerability and survival of cochlear hair cells. | Seth Morrill David Z.Z. | 9 | STRUCTURE AND MAGNETIC PROPERTIES OF YFe_(12-x)Ti_x COMPOUNDS显示文摘Structure and magnetic properties of the YFe12-x Tix compounds with x=0.85, 1.00, 1.10, 1.20 and 1.30 have been investigated. Both the thermomagnetic analysis and X-ray diffraction patterns show that all compounds Btudied are almost single phase and crystallize in the ThMn12-type of structure. The lattice parameters a, c and unit cell volume V increase monotonously with increasing Ti content. Curie temperature Tc is almost independent on Ti content while the spontaneous magnetization Mo, the anisotropy field B. and the anisotropy constant K1 decrease monotonously with increasing Ti content and increasing temperature from1.5K to 293K. | B.
