1Optimization of N18 Zirconium Alloy for Fuel Cladding of Water Reactors显示文摘In order to optimize the microstructure and composition of N18 zirconium alloy(Zr-1Sn-0.35Nb-0.35Fe-0.1Cr,in mass fraction,%),which was developed in China in 1990s,the effect of microstructure and composition variation on the corrosion resistance of the N18 alloy has been investigated.The autoclave corrosion tests were carried out in super heated steam at 400 ℃/10.3 MPa,in deionized water or lithiated water with 0.01 mol/L LiOH at 360 ℃/18.6 MPa.The exposure time lasted for 300-550 days according to the test temperature.The results show that the microstructure with a fine and uniform distribution of second phase particles(SPPs),and the decrease of Sn content from 1%(in mass fraction,the same as follows) to 0.8% are of benefit to improving the corrosion resistance;It is detrimental to the corrosion resistance if no Cr addition.The addition of Nb content with upper limit(0.35%) is beneficial to improving the corrosion resistance.The addition of Cu less than 0.1% shows no remarkable influence upon the corrosion resistance for N18 alloy.Comparing the corrosion resistance of the optimized N18 with other commercial zirconium alloys,such as Zircaloy-4,ZIRLO,E635 and E110,the former shows superior corrosion resistance in all autoclave testing conditions mentioned above.Although the data of the corrosion resistance as fuel cladding for high burn-up has not been obtained yet,it is believed that the optimized N18 alloy is promising for the candidate of fuel cladding materials as high burn-up fuel assemblies.Based on the theory that the microstructural evolution of oxide layer during corrosion process will affect the corrosion resistance of zirconium alloys,the improvement of corrosion resistance of the N18 alloy by obtaining the microstructure with nano-size and uniform distribution of SPPs,and by decreasing the content of Sn and maintaining the content of Cr is discussed.B.X. 2EFFECTS OF OXIDES IN INVESTMENT MOLD ON SURFACE PROPERTIES OF TITANIUM CASTINGS显示文摘Effects of different facing oxides, including including yttria colloidal and powders (Y/Y), yttria stabilized zirconia colloidal and powders (ZY/ZY), zirconia colloidal and powders (Z/Z) and zirconia colloidal and zireonite powders (Z/ZS) on the qualities of investment castings are studied. The outward appearance, microstructures, and microhardness profiles of castings made of commercial pure titanium, Ti--Al--V and Ti--Al--Zr are investigated. Castings made by shells with yttria as face materials have the least contamination and by zirconite shells have the most contamination. 3SIMULATION OF THE TWIN ROLL STAINLESS STRIP CASTING PROCESS显示文摘The position of the solidification completed temperature of twin roll stainless strip casting process is very important to the quality of the casting strip. In order to control this position, the .solidification completed temperature should be known at first. The present paper first. simulated dendritic microsegregation under conditions of twin roll stainless strip casting, and got the relationship between the temperature and solid fraction of the mush zone. The temperatures such as ZDT (equal to the solidifica- tion completed temperature and LIT (liquid impenetrable temperature), et al., also were obtained. Then by using the turbulent model, the flow and thermal fields of the pool of the twin roll stainless strip casting, and the speed and temperature fields oj different casting speeds were given cud also explained. 7First-principles Calculation Assisted Thermodynamic Modeling of Ti-Co-Cu Ternary System显示文摘Thermodynamic assessment of Ti-Co-Cu ternary system has been carried out by combining first-principle calculation and CALPHAD method. Firstly, formation enthalpies of stable and hypothesized compounds were calculated by first-principles method. Then, based on reported experimental information, a thermodynamic description of the Ti-Co-Cu ternary system was performed. Solution phases were treated as substitutional solutions of which excess Gibbs energies were formulated by Redlich-Kister polynomial, and the intermediate phases were described with sublattice models. All measured isothermal sections were reasonably reproduced. In addition, liquidus projection of this ternary system was further calculated, which may be useful for relevant materials processing.Y.J. 13MICROSTRUCTURE EVOLUTION AND MECHANICAL HARDENING OF HYPEREUTECTOID PEARLITIC STEEL DURING COLD ROLLING显示文摘The microstructure evolution of different cold rolling reductions (from 0 to 81.6%) was studied by SEM (scanning electron microscopy) and TEM (transmission electron microscope). The study showed that the orientation multiplicity of pearlitic lamellas resulted in inhomogeneous deformation of different pearlitic lamellas, and with the increase of reduction, the microstructure underwent a course of 'homogeneity → inhomogeneity → homogeneity'. The result of XRD (X-ray diffraction) analysis indicated that cementite did not decompose and dissolve into ferrite; the results of the mechanical property test suggested that the relationship between Rp0.2 (yield strength) and ε (true strain) was in good agreement with Hollomon relationship.
