1Mapping wetland changes in China between 1978 and 2008显示文摘Four wetland maps for all China have been produced,based on Landsat and CBERS-02B remote sensing data between 1978 and 2008 (1978,1990,2000 and 2008).These maps were mainly developed by manual interpretation and validated by substantial field investigation in 2009.Based on these maps,we analyzed the 2008 wetland distribution in China and discussed wetland changes and their drivers over the past 30 years.(i) There were about 324097 km 2 of wetlands in 2008,for which inland marshes or swamps were the most common wetland type (35%),with lakes (26%) second.Most of the wetlands were in Heilongjiang,Inner Mongolia,Qinghai and Tibet,occupying about 55% of the national wetland area.(ii) From 1978 to 2008,China's wetland area continually and significantly decreased,by about 33% based on changes in the wetland map.This was in sharp contrast to the increase in artificial wetlands,which increased by about 122%.Inland marshes accounted for the main loss of total wetlands from 1978 to 2000.From 2000 through 2008,riverine and lacustrine wetlands constituted the main wetland loss.Fortunately however,the rate of wetland loss decreased from 5523 to 831 km 2 /a.(iii) The change ratio of lost natural wetlands (including inland and coastal wetlands) to non-wetlands has decreased slightly over the past 30 years.From 1978 to 1990,nearly all natural wetlands (98%) lost were transformed into non-wetlands.However,the ratio declined to 86% from 1990 to 2000,and to 77% from 2000 to 2008.(iv) All Chinese provinces were divided into three groups according to patterns of wetland changes,which could relate to the driving forces of such changes.Tibet was completely different from other provinces,as it was one representative example in which there was a net wetland increase,because of global warming and decreased human activity since 1990.Increased economic development caused considerable wetland loss in most eastern provinces,and artificial wetlands increased.NIU ZhenGuo ZHANG HaiYing WANG XianWei YAO WenBo ZHOU DeMin ZHAO KuiYi ZHAO Hui LI NaNa HUANG HuaBing LI CongCong YANG Jun LIU CaiXia LIU Shuang WANG Lin LI Zhan YANG ZhenZhong QIAO Fei ZHENG YaoMin CHEN YanLei SHENG YongWei GAO XiaoHong ZHU WeiHong WANG WenQing WANG Hong WENG YongLing ZHUANG DaFang LIU JiYuan LUO ZhiCai CHENG Xiao GUO ZiQi GONG Peng 2012Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,22:51
2Baicalin prevents LPS-induced activation of TLR4/NF-κB p65 pathway and inflammation in mice via inhibiting the expression of CD14显示文摘Previous studies have shown that baicalin,an active ingredient of the Chinese traditional medicine Huangqin,attenuates LPS-induced inflammation by inhibiting the activation of TLR4/NF-κBp65 pathway,but how it affects this pathway is unknown.It has been shown that CD14 binds directly to LPS and plays an important role in sensitizing the cells to minute quantities of LPS via chaperoning LPS molecules to the TLR4/MD-2 signaling complex.In the present study we investigated the role of CD14 in the anti-inflammatory effects of baicalin in vitro and in vivo.Exposure to LPS(1μg/mL)induced inflammatory responses in RAW264.7 cells,evidenced by marked increases in the expression of MHC II molecules and the secretion of NO and IL-6,and by activation of MyD88/NF-κB p65 signaling pathway,as well as the expression of CD14 and TLR4.These changes were dose-dependently attenuated by pretreatment baicalin(12.5–50μM),but not by baicalin post-treatment.In RAW264.7 cells without LPS stimulation,baicalin dose-dependently inhibit the protein and mRNA expression of CD14,but not TLR4.In RAW264.7 cells with CD14 knockdown,baicalin pretreatment did not prevent inflammatory responses and activation of MyD88/NF-κB p65 pathway induced by high concentrations(1000μg/mL)of LPS.Furthermore,baicalin pretreatment also inhibited the expression of CD14 and activation of MyD88/NF-κB p65 pathway in LPS-induced hepatocyte-derived HepG2 cells and intestinal epithelial-derived HT-29 cells.In mice with intraperitoneal injection of LPS and in DSS-induced UC mice,oral administration of baicalin exerted protective effects by inhibition of CD14 expression and inflammation.Taken together,we demonstrate that baicalin pretreatment prevents LPS-induced inflammation in RAW264.7 cells in CD14-dependent manner.This study supports the therapeutic use of baicalin in preventing the progression of LPS-induced inflammatory diseases.Ya-jun Fu Bo Xu Shao-wei Huang Xia Luo Xiang-liang Deng Shuang Luo Chang Liu Qing Wang Jin-yan Chen Lian Zhou 2021Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2021,42,1:31

5Additive and Over-dominant Effects Resulting from Epistatic Loci Are the Primary Genetic Basis of Heterosis in Rice显示文摘A set of 148 F9 recombinant inbred lines(RILs) was developed from the cross of an indica cultivar 93-11 and japonica cultivar DT713,showing strong F1 heterosis.Subsequently,two backcross F1(BCF1) populations were constructed by backcrossing these 148 RILs to two parents,93-11 and DT713.These three related populations(281BCF1 lines,148 RILs) were phenotyped for six yield-related traits in two locations.Significant inbreeding depression was detected in the population of RILS and a high level of heterosis was observed in the two BCF1 populations.A total of 42 main-effect quantitative trait loci(M-QTLs) and 109 epistatic effect QTL pairs(E-QTLs) were detected in the three related populations using the mixed model approach.By comparing the genetic effects of these QTLs detected in the RILs,BCF1 performance and mid-parental heterosis(HMP),we found that,in both BCF1 populations,the QTLs detected could be classified into two predominant types:additive and over-dominant loci,which indicated that the additive and over-dominant effect were more important than complete or partially dominance for M-QTLs and E-QTLs.Further,we found that the E-QTLs detected collectively explained a larger portion of the total phenotypic variation than the M-QTLs in both RILs and BCF1 populations.All of these results suggest that additive and over-dominance resulting from epistatic loci might be the primary genetic basis of heterosis in rice.Xiaojin Luo Yongcai Fu Peijiang Zhang Shuang Wu Feng Tian Jiayong Liu Zuofeng Zhu Jinshui Yang Chuanqing Sun 2009Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2009,51,4:20

7Triptolide prolonged allogeneic islet graft survival in chemically induced and spontaneously diabetic mice without impairment of islet function显示文摘BACKGROUND:Triptolide(TPT)is a diterpenoid triepoxide extracted from the Chinese herb Tripterygium wilfordii Hook.F.It exhibits potent immunosuppressive and anti-inflammatory properties.This study was undertaken to investigate its effects on prolongation of islet allograft survival in rodents.Additionally,we investigated whether TPT would be toxic to islet function in vivo.METHODS:We transplanted BALB/c islets to either chemically induced diabetic C57BL/6 mice or spontaneously diabetic nonobese diabetic(NOD)mice.TPT was injected within 2 weeks or continuously,until rejection,in the two combinations.Then, we evaluated the toxicity of TPT on islet function by daily injection to naive BALB/c or diabetic BALB/c that was cured by syngeneic islet transplantation under the kidney capsule.Mice injected with cyclosporine A(CsA)or vehicle served as controls.Intraperitoneal glucose tolerance tests(IPGTTs)performed at 4 and 8 weeks in the na?ve BALB/c group,and at 2,4,6,and 8 weeks in the syngeneic transplanted group.RESULTS:The medium survival time of islets allograft from TPT treated C57BL/6 and NOD recipients were 28.5 days(range 24-30 days,n=10)and 33.0 days(range 15-47 days,n=6), respectively,and they were significantly different from those of the vehicle treated controls,which were 14.0 days(range 13-16 days,n=6)and 5.0 days(range 4-10 days,n=6),respectively(all P<0.0001).The IPGTT demonstrated that there was no difference between the TPT treated and vehicle treated groups, either in the normal or syngeneic transplanted islet BALB/c mice.However,CsA injection impaired islet function in both normal and syngeneic transplanted mice as early as 4 weeks.CONCLUSION:TPT prolonged islets allograft survival in a chemically induced diabetic or an autoimmune diabetic murine model without impairment of islet function.Xin, Ming-Jun Cui, Shi-Hua Liu, Shuang Sun, Hai-Chen Li, Fei Sun, Jia-Bang Luo, Bin 2010Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Diseases International2010,9,3:11
8Apatite Fission Track Evidence of Uplift Cooling in the Qiangtang Basin and Constraints on the Tibetan Plateau Uplift显示文摘The Qiangtang basin is located in the central Tibetan Plateau. This basin has an important structural position,and further study of its tectonic and thermal histories has great significance for understanding the evolution of the Tibetan Plateau and the hydrocarbon potential of marine carbonates in the basin. This study focuses on low temperature thermochronology and in particular conducted apatite fission track analysis. Under constraints provided by the geological background,the thermal history in different tectonic units is characterized by the degree of annealing of samples,and the timing of major(uplift-erosion related) cooling episodes is inferred. The cooling history in the Qiangtang basin can be divided into two distinct episodes. The first stage is mainly from the late Early Cretaceous to the Late Cretaceous(69.8 Ma to 108.7 Ma),while the second is mainly from the MiddleLate Eocene to the late Miocene(10.3 Ma to 44.4 Ma). The first cooling episode records the uplift of strata in the central Qiangtang basin caused by continued convergent extrusion after the BangongNujiang ocean closed. The second episode can be further divided into three periods,which are respectively 10.3 Ma,22.6–26.1 Ma and 30.8–44.4 Ma. The late Oligocene-early Miocene(22.6–26.1 Ma) is the main cooling period. The distribution and times of the earlier uplift-related cooling show that the effect of extrusion after the collision between Eurasian plate and India plate obviously influenced the Qiangtang basin at 44.4 Ma. The Qiangtang basin underwent compression and started to be uplifted from the middle-late Eocene to the early Oligocene(45.0–30.8 Ma). Subsequently,a large-scale and intensive uplift process occurred during the late Oligocene to early Miocene(26.1–22.6 Ma) and the basin continued to undergo compression and uplift up to the late Miocene(10.3 Ma). Thus,uplift-erosion in the Qiangtang basin was intensive from 44.5 Ma to about 10 Ma. The timing of cooling in the second episode shows that the uplift of the Qiangtang basin was caused by the strong compression after the collision of the Indian plate and Eurasian plate. On the whole,the new apatite fission-track data from the Qiangtang basin show that the Tibetan Plateau started to extrude and uplift during 45–30.8 Ma. 9QAAR exploration on pesticides with high solubility:An investigation on sulfonylurea herbicide dimers formed through π–π stacking interactions显示文摘Bioactive compounds could form aggregates that influence the bio-interactive processes. In this letter,based on p–p stacking models, quantitative aggregation–activity relationship(QAAR) studies were carried out on a series of sulfonylurea herbicides with good solubility. Four QAAR/QSAR models were constructed, which indicated that the bioactivity may strongly depend on both the characters of the dimeric aggregates and the monomer. 11Discovery of tip induced unconventional superconductivity on Weyl semimetal显示文摘Weyl fermion is a massless Dirac fermion with definite chirality,which has been long pursued since 1929.Though it has not been observed as a fundamental particle in nature,Weyl fermion can be realized as low-energy excitation around Weyl point in Weyl semimetal,which possesses Weyl fermion cones in the bulk and nontrivial Fermi arc states on the surface. As a firstly discovered Weyl semimetal,Ta As crystal possesses 12 pairs of Weyl points in the momentum space,which are topologically protected against small perturbations. Here,we report for the first time the tip induced superconductivity on Ta As crystal by point contact spectroscopy. The zero bias conductance peak as well as a conductance plateau with double conductance peaks and sharp double dips are observed in the point contact spectra simultaneously,indicating unconventional superconductivity. Our further theoretical study suggests that the induced superconductivity may have nontrivial topology. 14Statistical and frequency analysis of the pressure fluctuation in a fluidized bed of non-spherical particles显示文摘In this paper,the pressure fluctuation in a fluidized bed was measured and processed via standard deviation and power spectrum analysis to investigate the dynamic behavior of the transition from the bubbling to turbulent regime.Two types[Geldart B and D) of non-spherical particles,screened from real bed materials,and their mixture were used as the bed materials.The experiments were conducted in a semiindustrial testing apparatus.The experimental results indicated that the fluidization characteristics of the non-spherical Geldart D particles differed from that of the spherical particles at gas velocities beyond the transition velocity U_c.The standard deviation of the pressure fluctuation measured in the bed increased with the gas velocity,while that measured in the plenum remained constant.Compared to the coarse particles,the fine particles exerted a stronger influence on the dynamic behavior of the fluidized bed and promoted the fluidization regime transition from bubbling toward turbulent.The power spectrum of the pressure fluctuation was calculated using the auto-regressive(AR) model;the hydrodynamics of the fluidized bed were characterized by the major frequency of the power spectrum of the pressure fluctuation.By combining the standard deviation analysis,a new method was proposed to determine the transition velocity U_k via the analysis of the change in the major frequency.The first major frequency was observed to vary within the range of 1.5 to 3 Hz.Honghao He Xiaofeng Lu Wei Shuang Quanhai Wang Yinhu Kang Liyun Yan Xuanyu Ji Guangyu Luo Hai Liu 2014Particuology2014,12,5:6

17A novel insight into enhanced propane combustion performance on PtUSY catalyst显示文摘Platinum was supported on c-Al_2O_3 and ultrastable Y zeolite(USY) by an incipient wetness impregnation method. The catalysts were characterized by nitrogen physisorption, transmission electron microscopy(TEM),CO/C_3H_8 isothermal oxidations, NH_3 temperature-programmed desorption(NH_3–TPD) and infrared(IR) spectroscopy of adsorbed probe molecules(CO, C_3H_8 and C_3H_8+ O_2). Compared with Pt/Al_2O_3, Pt USY catalyst shows obviously higher activity for the combustion of propane. After estimating the size effect of Pt particles and propane adsorption capacity of USY, the excellent activity of Pt USY is also attributed to the strong interactions between the precious metal and the acidic zeolite. 20Fluoxetine ameliorates depressive symptoms by regulating lncRNA expression in the mouse hippocampus显示文摘Depression is a prevalent mental disorder that is associated with aging and contributes to increased mortality and morbidity.The overall prevalence of geriatric depression with clinically significant symptoms is currently on the rise.Recent studies have demonstrated that altered expressions of long non-coding RNAs(lncRNAs)in the brain affect neurodevelopment and manifest modulating functions during the depression.However,most lncRNAs have not yet been studied.Herein,we analyzed the transcriptome of dysregulated lncRNAs to reveal their expressions in a mouse model exhibiting depressive-like behaviors,as well as their corresponding response following antidepressant fluoxetine treatment.A chronic unpredictable mild stress(CUMS)mouse model was applied.A sixweek fluoxetine intervention in CUMS-induced mice attenuated depressive-like behaviors.In addition,differential expression analysis of lncRNAs was performed following RNA-sequencing.A total of 282 lncRNAs(134 up-regulated and 148 down-regulated)were differentially expressed in CUMS-induced mice relative to non-stressed counterparts(P<0.05).Moreover,370 differentially expressed lncRNAs were identified in CUMS-induced mice after fluoxetine intervention.Gene Ontology(GO)analyses showed an association between significantly dysregulated lncRNAs and protein binding,oxygen binding,and transport activity,while the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG)analysis indicated that these dysregulated lncRNAs might be involved in inflammatory response pathways.Fluoxetine effectively ameliorated the symptoms of depression in CUMS-induced mice by regulating the expression of lncRNAs in the hippocampus.The findings herein provide valuable insights into the potential mechanism underlying depression in elderly people.Chuan-Ling Zhang Yi-Jia Li Shuang Lu Ting Zhang Rui Xiao Huai-Rong Luo 2021Zoological Research2021,42,1:4
