| 2 | Relationship between depression and diabetes in pregnancy: A systematic review显示文摘AIM To systematically review the literature on women with both diabetes in pregnancy(DIP) and depression during or after pregnancy. METHODS In this systematic literature review, PubM ed/MEDLINE and EMBASE were searched(13 November 2015) using terms for diabetes(type 1, type 2, or gestational), depression, and pregnancy(no language or date restrictions). Publications that reported on women who had both DIP(any type) and depression or depressive symptoms before, during, or within one year after pregnancy were considered for inclusion. All study types were eligible for inclusion; conference abstracts, narrative reviews, nonclinical letters, editorials, and commentaries were excluded, unless they provided treatment guidance.RESULTS Of 1189 articles identified, 48 articles describing women with both DIP and depression were included(sample sizes 36 to > 32 million). Overall study quality was poor; most studies were observational, and only 12 studies(mostly retrospective database studies) required clinical depression diagnosis. The prevalence of concurrent DIP(any type) and depression in general populations of pregnant women ranged from 0% to 1.6%(median 0.61%; 12 studies). The prevalence of depression among women with gestational diabetes ranged from 4.1% to 80%(median 14.7%; 16 studies). Many studies examined whether DIP was a risk factor for depression or depression was a risk factor for DIP. However, there was no clear consensus for either relationship. Importantly, we found limited guidance on the management of women with both DIP and depression. | 4 | Reliability of ultrasound ovarian-adnexal reporting and data system amongst less experienced readers before and after training显示文摘BACKGROUND The 2018 ovarian-adnexal reporting and data system(O-RADS)guidelines are aimed at providing a system for consistent reports and risk stratification for ovarian lesions found on ultrasound.It provides key characteristics and findings for lesions,a lexicon of descriptors to communicate findings,and risk characterization and associated follow-up recommendation guidelines.However,the ORADS guidelines have not been validated in North American institutions or amongst less experienced readers.AIM To evaluate the diagnostic accuracy and inter-reader reliability of ultrasound ORADS risk stratification amongst less experienced readers in a North American institution with and without pre-test training.METHODS A single-center retrospective study was performed using 100 ovarian/adnexal lesions of varying O-RADS scores.Of these cases,50 were allotted to a training cohort and 50 to a testing cohort via a non-randomized group selection process in order to approximately equal distribution of O-RADS categories both within and between groups.Reference standard O-RADS scores were established through consensus of three fellowship-trained body imaging radiologists.Three PGY-4 residents were independently evaluated for diagnostic accuracy and inter-reader reliability with and without pre-test O-RADS training.Sensitivity,specificity,positive predictive value,negative predictive value(NPV),and area under the curve(AUC)were used to measure accuracy.Fleiss kappa and weighted quadratic(pairwise)kappa values were used to measure inter-reader reliability.Statistical significance was P<0.05.RESULTS Mean patient age was 40±16 years with lesions ranging from 1.2 to 22.5 cm.Readers demonstrated excellent specificities(85%-100%pre-training and 91%-100%post-training)and NPVs(89%-100%pre-training and 91-100%post-training)across the O-RADS categories.Sensitivities were variable(55%-100%pre-training and 64%-100%post-training)with malignant ORADS 4 and 5 Lesions pre-training and post-training AUC values of 0.87-0.95 and 0.94-098,respectively(P<0.001).Nineteen of 22(86%)misclassified cases in pre-training were related to mischaracterization of dermoid features or wall/septation morphology.Fifteen of 17(88%)of posttraining misclassified cases were related to one of these two errors.Fleiss kappa inter-reader reliability was‘good’and pairwise inter-reader reliability was‘very good’with pre-training and post-training assessment(k=0.76 and 0.77;and k=0.77-0.87 and 0.85-0.89,respectively).CONCLUSION Less experienced readers in North America achieved excellent specificities and AUC values with very good pairwise inter-reader reliability.They may be subject to misclassification of potentially malignant lesions,and specific training around dermoid features and smooth vs irregular inner wall/septation morphology may improve sensitivity. | Prayash Katlariwala Mitchell P Wilson Yeli Pi Baljot S Chahal Roger Croutze Deelan Patel Vimal Patel Gavin Low | 2022 | World Journal of Radiology2022，14，9： | 2 |

| 6 | The Influence of Biochar on Growth of Lettuce and Potato显示文摘Pot experiments were conducted in a glasshouse to determine the growth pattern of lettuce, true potato seedlings(TPS) and single node cuttings of TPS in response to biochar. The treatments were arranged in a randomized complete block design with 5 treatments(0, 10, 30, 50 and 100 t ha-1) of biochar from greenwaste with 5 replications in lettuce, 10 in TPS and 5 in single node cuttings of TPS. The observations recorded on growth parameters showed that biochar had significant effect on growth of lettuce but no consistent effect on growth of TPS and single node cuttings. Among the biochar rates, 30 t ha-1 had the greatest influence on overall growth of lettuce. The pH and electrical conductivity increased as the biochar rates increased in all experiments. These results provide an avenue for soil management system by using biochar as an amendment in horticultural crops. | 9 | Mutifactorial analysis of risk factors for reduced bone mineral density in patients with Crohn’s disease显示文摘AIM: To determine the prevalence of osteoporosis in a cohort of patients with Crohn’s disease (CD) and to identify the relative significance of risk factors for osteoporosis. METHODS: Two hundred and fifty-eight unselected patients (92 M, 166 F) with CD were studied. Bone mineral density (BMD) was measured at the lumbar spine and hip by dual X-ray absorptiometry. Bone formation was assessed by measuring bone specific alkaline phosphatase (BSAP) and bone resorption by measuring urinary excretion of deoxypyridinoline (DPD) and N-telopeptide (NTX). RESULTS: Between 11.6%-13.6% patients were osteoporotic (T score < -2.5) at the lumbar spine and/or hip. NTX levels were significantly higher in the patients with osteoporosis (P < 0.05) but BSAP and DPD levels were not significantly different. Independent risk factors for osteoporosis at either the lumbar spine or hip were a low body mass index (P < 0.001), increasing corticosteroid use (P < 0.005), and male sex (P < 0.01). These factors combined accounted for 23% and 37% of the reduction in BMD at the lumbar spine and hip respectively. CONCLUSION: Our results confirm that osteoporosis is common in patients with CD and suggest that increased bone resorption is the mechanism responsible for thebone loss.
