| 2 | Tip-leakage flow loss reduction in a two-stage turbine using axisymmetric-casing contouring显示文摘In order to reduce the losses caused by tip-leakage flow, axisymmetric contouring is applied to the casing of a two-stage unshrouded high pressure turbine(HPT) of aero-engine in this paper. This investigation focuses on the effects of contoured axisymmetric-casing on the blade tipleakage flow. While the size of tip clearance remains the same as the original design, the rotor casing and the blade tip are obtained with the same contoured arc shape. Numerical calculation results show that a promotion of 0.14% to the overall efficiency is achieved. Detailed analysis indicates that it reduces the entropy generation rate caused by the complex vortex structure in the rotor tip region, especially in the tip-leakage vortex. The low velocity region in the leading edge(LE) part of the tip gap is enlarged and the pressure side/tip junction separation bubble extends much further away from the leading edge in the clearance. | 4 | Thermal evolution effects on the properties of converting Cs-polluted soil into pollucite-base glass-ceramics for radioactive cesium immobilization显示文摘The Fukushima nuclear accident in Japan on March 11,2011,produced large amounts of Cs-polluted soil which must be controlled to prevent the spread of hazardous Cs into the environment.In this paper,the effects of heat treatment on the structure and properties of Cs-containing glass-ceramics,as a simulated nuclear waste form,were systematically investigated.Cesium atoms are chemically bonded in the pollucite structure,and the amorphous phase further encapsulates the pollucite crystals in the glassceramics,thus providing an extra protective layer for the immobilized Cs.XRD analysis,Raman and FT-IR studies on the glass-ceramics synergistically indicated that the optimum crystallization temperature for pollucite is around 1000℃.The pollucite is predominantly the main crystalline phase with a narrow crystal size distribution between 0.5 and 2 mm.Standard leaching test results show that the leaching rate of Cs was very low(3.0×10^(-3) g/(m^(2)·d)).The study offers a practical method for immobilizing Cs in pollucite-base glass-ceramics.Moreover,the experimentally obtained data may provide some important references for converting Cs-polluted soil into pollucite-base glass-ceramics waste form. | Yong Yang Xin Cao Lifen Shi Zhengyi Zhang Pingping Wang Jinwei Li Yangshan Sun Shuyong Chen Tianhe Wang Liyun Ma Shou Peng | 2021 | Journal of Materiomics2021,7,6: | 2 |

| 9 | Crosstalk between IL-15Rα^(+)tumor-associated macrophages and breast cancer cells reduces CD8+T cell recruitment显示文摘Background:Interleukin-15(IL-15)is a promising immunotherapeutic agent owing to its powerful immune-activating effects.However,the clinical benefits of these treatments are limited.Crosstalk between tumor cells and immune cells plays an important role in immune escape and immunotherapy drug resistance.Herein,this study aimed to obtain in-depth understanding of crosstalk in the tumor microenvironment for providing potential therapeutic strategies to prevent tumor progression.Methods:T-cell killing assays and co-culture models were developed to determine the role of crosstalk between macrophages and tumor cells in breast cancer resistant to IL-15.Western blotting,histological analysis,CRISPR-Cas9 knockout,multi-parameter flow cytometry,and tumor cell-macrophage co-injection mouse models were developed to examine the mechanism by which IL-15Rα^(+)tumor-associated macrophages(TAMs)regulate breast cancer cell resistance to IL-15.Results:We found thatmacrophages contributed to the resistance of tumor cells to IL-15,and tumor cells induced macrophages to express high levels of theαsubunit of the IL-15 receptor(IL-15Rα).Further investigation showed that IL-15Rα^(+)TAMs reduced the protein levels of chemokine CX3C chemokine ligand 1(CX3CL1)in tumor cells to inhibit the recruitment of CD8^(+)T cells by releasing the IL-15/IL-15Rαcomplex(IL-15Rc).Administration of an IL-15Rc blocking peptide markedly suppressed breast tumor growth and overcame the resistance of cancer cells to anti-programmed cell death protein 1(PD-1)antibody immunotherapy.Interestingly,Granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor(GMCSF)inducedγchain(γc)expression to promote tumor cell-macrophage crosstalk,which facilitated tumor resistance to IL-15.Additionally,we observed that the non-transcriptional regulatory function of hypoxia inducible factor-1alpha(HIF-1α)was essential for IL-15Rc to regulateCX3CL1 expression in tumor cells.Conclusions:The IL-15Rc-HIF-1α-CX3CL1 signaling pathway serves as a crosstalk between macrophages and tumor cells in the tumormicroenvironment of breast cancer.Targeting this pathway may provide a potential therapeutic strategy for enhancing the efficacy of cancer immunotherapy. | Wenlong Zhang Qing Zhang Nanfei Yang Qian Shi Huifang Su Tingsheng Lin Zhonglei He Wenxin Wang Hongqian Guo Pingping Shen | 2022 | Cancer Communications2022,42,6: | 0 |

| 11 | Feasibility and physics potential of detecting ^(8)B solar neutrinos at JUNO显示文摘The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory(JUNO)features a 20 kt multi-purpose underground liquid scintillator sphere as its main detector.Some of JUNO's features make it an excellent location for^8B solar neutrino measurements,such as its low-energy threshold,high energy resolution compared with water Cherenkov detectors,and much larger target mass compared with previous liquid scintillator detectors.In this paper,we present a comprehensive assessment of JUNO's potential for detecting^8B solar neutrinos via the neutrino-electron elastic scattering process.A reduced 2 MeV threshold for the recoil electron energy is found to be achievable,assuming that the intrinsic radioactive background^(238)U and^(232)Th in the liquid scintillator can be controlled to 10^(-17)g/g.With ten years of data acquisition,approximately 60,000 signal and 30,000 background events are expected.This large sample will enable an examination of the distortion of the recoil electron spectrum that is dominated by the neutrino flavor transformation in the dense solar matter,which will shed new light on the inconsistency between the measured electron spectra and the predictions of the standard three-flavor neutrino oscillation framework.IfDelta m^(2)_(21)=4.8times10^(-5);(7.5times10^(-5))eV^(2),JUNO can provide evidence of neutrino oscillation in the Earth at approximately the 3sigma(2sigma)level by measuring the non-zero signal rate variation with respect to the solar zenith angle.Moreover,JUNO can simultaneously measureDelta m^2_(21)using^8B solar neutrinos to a precision of 20% or better,depending on the central value,and to sub-percent precision using reactor antineutrinos.A comparison of these two measurements from the same detector will help understand the current mild inconsistency between the value of Delta m^2_(21)reported by solar neutrino experiments and the KamLAND experiment. Although it is well known that rare earth elements promote cell growth. the biological effects of La^(3+) and Ce^(3+) on callus, shoot and root induction in tobacco are still unclear. The relationships among callus induction, rooting, enzyme activities and stomatal characteristics in tobacco are unknown. The objectives of this study were to identify the relationships between the induction of calluses, shoots, roots, stomata and enzyme activities. The induction percentages of calluses, buds, roots were recorded at 5,10,15, 20 and 25 days after La^(3+) and Ce^(3+) treatments. Peroxidase isoenzyme activity was determined by electrophoresis. The characteristics of the stomata were observed under an optical microscope. Our results show that low concentrations of Ce^(3+)(<15 mg/L) result in increases in the induction percentages of calluses,buds and roots, but La^(3+)(>5 mg/L) inhibits the induction of calluses, buds and roots. There are more peroxidase isoenzyme bands in Ce^(3+) treatments than in La^(3+) treatments. This is consistent with the induction percentages of calluses,buds and roots in Ce^(3+) and La^(3+) treatments. High enzyme activities may promote the induction of calluses, buds and roots. The stomata area and stomata number of leaves are significantly different between La^(3+) treatments and Ce^(3+) treatments. La^(3+) improves the stomata area and number. Based on these results, we speculate that La^(3+) may promote the development of the photosynthetic system. | 20 | Sparse array of sub-surface aided blockage-free multi-user mmWave communication systems显示文摘Recently,Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces(RISs)have drawn intensive attention in the realization of the smart radio environment.However,existing works mainly consider the RIS as a whole uniform plane,which may be unrealistic to be installed on the facade of buildings when the RIS is extremely large.In contrast,this paper investigates a practical Sparse Array of Sub-surface(SAoS)deployment of the RIS for uplink multi-user millimeter Wave(mmWave)communication systems,in which the Mobile Stations(MSs)are distributed in the blind coverage area due to the blockage.In order to exploit the benefits of the sparse deployment,the correlation of the effective channel is firstly investigated.Then the approximation and lower bounds of the ergodic spectral efficiency are derived under frequency and spatial multiplexing scenarios,respectively.Based on the autocorrelation of the effective channel,we obtain an optimal reflect coefficient design as well as the deployment guidelines of RIS tiles.Moreover,the RIS tile scheduling algorithms are also proposed.Numerical results show that the ergodic spectral efficiency approximation matches well with the Monte Carlo result under frequency multiplexing scenarios,and the lower bound is tight under spatial multiplexing scenarios only when the effective channel is strongly correlated.On the basis of the RIS tile scheduling algorithm and the reflect coefficient design,the system performance can be significantly improved under frequency multiplexing scenarios.On the other hand,by deploying more sparse RIS tiles,we can increase the multiplexing gain under spatial multiplexing scenarios. | Weicong Chen Xi Yang Shi Jin Pingping Xu | 2020 | Digital Communications and Networks2020,6,3: | 0 |
