3Variations in silicate concentration affecting photosynthetic carbon fixation by spring phytoplankton assemblages in surface water of the Strait of Malacca显示文摘The Strait of Malacca (SoM), the world's busiest sea-route, is increasingly polluted as the rapid development of world trades, affecting phytoplankton primary productivity therein. The variations of surface phytoplankton biomass, size-structure and carbon fixation were investigated across the SoM during the spring period (May 4 to 9, 2011). Chlorophyll a concentration increased from 0.12 μg/L at the northwest entrance of the SoM to a maximal 0.63 μg/L at narrowest section, and decreased to 0.10 μg/L at the southeast entrance. Photosynthetic carbon fixation by phytoplankton coincided well with Chl a biomass, and increased from 10.8 to 22.3 μg C/(L d), then decreased to 9.21 μg C/(L d); while the carbon fixation rate showed an inverse pattern to the changes of Chl a, and decreased from 87.1 to 35.5 μg C/(μg Chl a d) and increased thereafter to 95.3 μg C/(μg Chla·d). Picophytoplankton cells (<3 μm) contributed to more than 60% and 50% of the total Chl a and carbon fixation at both the entry waters; while the contributions of pico-cells decreased sharply to the minimum of 18.3% and 27.5% at the narrowest part of the SoM. 4Longitudinal patterns of spring-intermonsoon phytoplankton biomass,species compositions and size structure in the Bay of Bengal显示文摘Vertical distributions of phytoplankton biomass,compositions and size structure were investigated during the spring-intermonsoon (April 22 to 30) of 2010 along transact 10 N of the Bay of Bengal,northern Indian Ocean.Surface phytoplankton biomass (Chl a) was (0.065 ± 0.009) μg/L,being greater than 80% of which was contributed by pico-phytoplankton (<3 μm).The Chl a concentration vertically increased to the maximal values at deep chlorophyll maximum (DCM) layer that shoaled eastwards from 75 to 40 m.The Chl a biomass at DCM layer generally varied between 0.2 and 0.4 μg/L,reaching the maximum of 0.56 μg/L with micro-phytoplankton cells (>20 μm) accounting for 58% and nano-(3-20 μm) or pico-cells for 15% and 27%,respectively.In particular,the cells concentration coupling well with phosphate level was observed at middle layer (75-100 m) of 87 to 89 E,dominated by micro-cells diatoms (e.g.,Chaetoceros atlanticus v.neapolitana,Chaetoceros femur and Pseudonitzschia sp.) and cyanobacteria (i.e.,Trichodesmium hildebrandtii),with the cells concentration reached as high as 4.0 × 10 4 and 4.3 × 10 4 cells/L.At the rest of the transact however,dinoflagellates (e.g.,Amphisdinium carterae and Prorocentrum sp.) were the dominant species,with the cells concentration varying from 0.3 × 10 3 to 6.8 × 10 3 cells/L.Our results also indicate that the regulation of large cells (micro-,nano-) on phytoplankton biomass merely occurred at DCM layer of the Bay.LI Gang KE Zhixin LIN Qiang NI Guangyan SHEN Pingping LIU Huaxue YIN Jianqiang LI Kaizhi HUANG Liangmin TAN Yehui 2012Acta Oceanologica Sinica2012,31,2:2
5A murine model for human immune thrombocytopenic purpura and comparative analysis of multiple gene expression in bone marrow and spleen显示文摘Homeostasis of platelet number in human and other mammals is well maintained for prevention of minor bleeding and for other immunological functions,but the exact molecular mechanism responsible for immune thrombocytopenic purpura(ITP) has not been fully understood.In an effort to identify genetic factors involved in initiation of platelet production in response to bleeding injury or platelet destruction,we have successfully generated an animal model of human ITP via intraperitoneal injection of anti-platelet antibody into the Balb/c mouse.Platelet counts were dropped dramatically in animals that received antibody injection within 4 h,maintained at the mini-mum level for a period of 44 h,started to rebound after 48 h,and reached to the maximum at 144 h(6 days).Final homeostasis reached at approximately 408 h(17 days),following a minor cycle of platelet number fluctuation.Using semi-quantitative RT-PCR,we assessed and compared mRNA level of CD41,c-myb,c-mpl,caspase-3,caspase-9,GATA-1,and Bcl-xl in bone marrow and spleen.Alteration of mRNA expression was correlated with the change of platelet level,and an inverse relationship was found for expression of the genes between bone marrow and spleen.No transcription was detectable for any of the seven genes in bone marrow at the time when platelet number reached the maximum(144 h).In contrast,mRNA transcripts of the seven genes were found to be at the highest level in spleen tissue.This is the first study of simultaneous detection of multiple platelet related genes in a highly reproducible ITP animal model.Our results provided the supportive evidence that expression of the above seven genes are more related to negative regulation of platelet number in spleen tissue,at least in the model animals.Hong Wei Xinchun Ding Jiangong Ren Ka Liu Pingping Tan Daquan Li Runlin Z. 14Time-varying baseline error correction method for ground-based micro-deformation monitoring radar显示文摘In recent years, ground-based micro-deformation monitoring radar has attracted much attention due to its excellent monitoring capability. By controlling the repeated campaigns of the radar antenna on a fixed track, ground-based micro-deformation monitoring radar can accomplish repeat-pass interferometry without a space baseline and thus obtain highprecision deformation data of a large scene at one time. However, it is difficult to guarantee absolute stable installation position in every campaign. If the installation position is unstable, the stability of the radar track will be affected randomly, resulting in time-varying baseline error. In this study, a correction method for this error is developed by analyzing the error distribution law while the spatial baseline is unknown. In practice, the error data are first identified by frequency components, then the data of each one-dimensional array(in azimuth direction or range direction) are grouped based on numerical distribution period, and finally the error is corrected by the nonlinear model established with each group.This method is verified with measured data from a slope in southern China, and the results show that the method can effectively correct the time-varying baseline error caused by rail instability and effectively improve the monitoring data accuracy of groundbased micro-deformation radar in short term and long term.LEI Tianjie WANG Jiabao HUANG Pingping TAN Weixian QI Yaolong XU Wei ZHAO Chun 2022Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2022,33,4:0

19Plant above-ground biomass and litter quality drive soil microbial metabolic limitations during vegetation restoration of subtropical forests显示文摘Changes in litter quality(carbon:nitrogen,C:N)and above-ground biomass(AGB)following vegetation restoration significantly impact soil physicochemical properties,yet their effects on soil microbial metabolic limitations remain unclear.We measured litter quality,AGB,soil physicochemical properties,and extracellular enzyme activity(EEA)along a vegetation restoration gradient(7,14,49,70 years,and nearly climax evergreen broadleaved forests)in southern China.We also evaluated soil microbial metabolic limitations by a vector analysis of the EEA.Results revealed the soil microbial metabolisms were co-limited by C and phosphorus(P).The microbial C limitation initially decreased(before 14 years)and then increased,while the microbial P limitation initially increased(before 49 years)and then decreased.Partial least squares path modeling(PLS-PM)showed that the microbial C limitation was mainly attributed to microbial C use efficiency induced by litter quality,suggesting that microorganisms may transfer cellular energy between microbial growth and Cacquiring enzyme production.The microbial P limitation was primarily correlated with AGB-driven change in soil elements and their stoichiometry,highlighting the importance of nutrient stoichiometry and balance in microbial metabolism.The shifts between microbial C and P limitations and the strong connections of plant–soil-microbe processes during vegetation restoration revealed here will provide us with helpful information for optimal management to achieve forest restoration success.Shuo Zhang Ying-Ping Wang Xi Fang Jinlei Chen Nannan Cao Pingping Xu Mengxiao Yu Xin Xiong Xiangping Tan Qi Deng Junhua Yan 2023Soil Ecology Letters2023,5,2:0
20Separation and Identification of Stage-specific Proteins in Pistillate Flowers of Mulberry显示文摘In order to excavate the function genes of stage-specific proteins in the development process of mulberry pistillate flowers,using fruit mulberry cultivar‘Da 10’as experiment material,two-dimensional electrophoresis and mass-spectrometric technology were used to investigate specifically expressed proteins of mulberry pistillate flowers in different flowering periods.The results showed that 471±4,450±15 and 446±14 protein spots were determined in mulberry pistillate flowers at full-bloom stage,initial flowering stage and terminal flowering stage respectively,including nine protein spots with characteristics of stage-specific expression and clear electrophoretic bands..By mass spectrometry analysis,database retrieval and bioinformatics analysis,five components were successfully identified as lactoylglutathione lyase-like protein,perchloric acid soluble translation inhibitor protein,ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme 1 like protein,putative ethylene response protein and 3-hydroxyisobutyrate dehydrogenase,which were involved in stress resistance reaction,protein catabolism,signal transduction,glycometabolism and other biological processes in plants,which indicated that these proteins might play an important biological function in the normal development and pollination fertilization of mulberry pistillate flowers.Ruihe NIU Yuanyuan CHEN Pingping ZHANG Wei QI Biping ZHENG Jianzhong TAN 2013Agricultural Biotechnology2013,2,6:0
