1Prevalence of HIV Indeterminate Western Blot Tests and Follow-up of HIV Antibody Sero-Conversion in Southeastern China显示文摘HIV-indeterminate Western blotting(WB)results are typically obtained in WB confirmatory assays,and the number of indeterminate samples may increase with the detection of HIV infections,which will present considerable challenges for the management of HIV/AIDS.Nucleic acid detection has been used as a laboratory test for screening suspected or indeterminate samples.However,the effectiveness of these assays for the differential diagnosis of HIV-indeterminate WB samples remained undetermined.In this study,210 subjects with HIV-indeterminate WB results were detected from 6360 positive HIV screening samples between 2015 and 2016 in southeastern China,in which HIV-indeterminate WB results accounted for 3.30%.The highest proportion of indeterminate results was observed in pregnant and lying-in women receiving physical examinations(16.67%),followed by that in voluntary blood donors(8.82%).The most common WB band patterns were p24,gpl60 and p24,and gpl60.The follow-up study revealed that the highest negative and positive conversion rates of HIV antibodies were in samples with a single p24 band(80.28%),and with gpl60 and p24 bands(86.21%),respectively.Among the Env,Gag,and Pol antibodies,samples with a Gag band showed the highest negative conversion rate(81.25%),whereas the highest positive conversion rate was observed in samples with an Env band(56.76%).In addition,quantitative and qualitative HIV nucleic acid testing exhibited the highest sensitivity(96.3%)and specificity(97.85%),respectively.Our results indicate a lower proportion of HIV indeterminate WB results in southeastern China compared to previous reports,and the follow-up re-examination of patients with HIV indeterminate results should be performed.Nucleic acid testing facilitates the identification of HIV infections.Shouli Wu Min Gao Jian Zheng Pingping Yan Wei Wang Xiaoli Lu Yuefeng Qiu Yansheng Yan 2019Virologica Sinica2019,34,4:15
2TRIB3-GSK-3β interaction promotes lung fibrosis and serves as a potential therapeutic target显示文摘Pulmonary fibrosis(PF)is a chronic,progressive,fatal interstitial lung disease with limited available therapeutic strategies.We recently reported that the protein kinase glycogen synthase kinase-3β(GSK-3β)interacts with and inactivates the ubiquitin-editing enzyme A20 to suppress the degradation of the transcription factor CCAAT/enhancer-binding protein beta(C/EBPβ)in alveolar macrophages(AMs),resulting in a profibrotic phenotype of AMs and promoting the development of PF.Here,we showed that chronic lung injury upregulated the stress response protein tribbles homolog 3(TRIB3),which interacted with GSK-3βand stabilized GSK-3βfrom ubiquitination and degradation.Elevated GSK-3βexpression phosphorylated A20 to inhibit its ubiquitin-editing activity,causing the accumulation of C/EBPβand the production of several profibrotic factors in AMs and promoting PF development.Activated C/EBPβ,in turn,increased the transcription of TRIB3 and GSK-3β,thereby establishing a positive feedback loop in AMs.The knockdown of TRIB3 expression or the pharmacologic disruption of the TRIB3-GSK-3βinteraction was an effective PF treatment.Our study reveals an intact profibrotic axis of TRIB3-GSK-3β-A20-C/EBPβin AMs,which represents a target that may provide a promising treatment strategy for PF.Shanshan Liu Xiaoxi Lv Xupeng Wei Chang Liu Qiao Li Jiali Min Fang Hua Xiaowei Zhang Ke Li Pingping Li Yang Xiao Zhuowei Hu Bing Cui 2021Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2021,11,10:2

6Wideband diffusion metabsorber for perfect scattering field reduction显示文摘Both absorption and diffuse reflection can effectively suppress microwave backward reflection.However,the challenge of designing wideband absorptive elements with anti-phase reflection hinders the simultaneous working of the two principles.With aid of the wideband characteristic of bilateral complementary structure,we propose a strategy to design wideband absorptive elements with large reflection phase differences.For proof of concept,the proposed elements are arranged in a rectangular grid by optimizing scattering field distribution.The proposed diffusion metabsorber achieves over 20-dB scattering field reduction in the range of 8.5–20.3 GHz with good polarization stability and high angular insensitivity of up to±40°,which has been verified by real experiments.Furthermore,the proposed design strategy exhibits the potential to further reduce electromagnetic wave reflection,and the optical transparent characteristic is promising for window applications.ZICHENG SONG PINGPING MIN JIAQI ZHU LEI YANG FENG HAN LIN 2022Photonics Research2022,10,6:1

9Role of 5-hydroxytryptamine expression in cerebellar Purkinje cells in obstructive sleep apnea syndrome显示文摘In the present study, electrical stimulation to the rat insular cortex induced apnea or respiratory disturbance, reduced amplitude of genioglossal electromyogram, and decreased electromyogram integrals. In addition, arterial blood gas analysis showed arterial blood acidosis, reduced pH values, increased alkali reserve negative values, decreased peripheral blood 5-hydroxytryptamine content, and increased 5-hydroxytryptamine expression in cerebellar Purkinje cells. Following lidocaine injection to block the habenular nucleus, abnormalities in breath, genioglossal electromyogram, and blood gas values disappeared, and peripheral blood 5-hydroxytryptamine content returned to levels prior to electric stimulation. However, 5-hydroxytryptamine expression in cerebellar Purkinje cells remained high. 10Design strategy of a high-performance multispectral stealth material based on the 3D meta-atom显示文摘In this paper,a 3D meta-atom-based structure is constructed for the multifunctional compatible design of visible,infrared,and microwave.To achieve high performance,a novel dispersion tailoring strategy is proposed.Through the incorporation of multiple controllable losses within the 3D meta-atom,the dispersion characteristics are tailored to the desired target region.The effectiveness of the strategy is verified with an error rate of less than5%.A proof-of-concept prototype is designed and fabricated,exhibiting high visible transparency,low infrared emission of 0.28,and microwave ultra-broadband absorption with a fractional bandwidth of 150%under 2.7 to18.7 GHz.This work contributes a novel design strategy for the development of high-performance multispectral stealth materials with wide applications.PINGPING MIN ZICHENG SONG TIANYU WANG VICTOR GRALCHENKO YURONG HE JIAQI ZHU 2023Photonics Research2023,11,11:0
11Feasibility and physics potential of detecting ^(8)B solar neutrinos at JUNO显示文摘The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory(JUNO)features a 20 kt multi-purpose underground liquid scintillator sphere as its main detector.Some of JUNO's features make it an excellent location for^8B solar neutrino measurements,such as its low-energy threshold,high energy resolution compared with water Cherenkov detectors,and much larger target mass compared with previous liquid scintillator detectors.In this paper,we present a comprehensive assessment of JUNO's potential for detecting^8B solar neutrinos via the neutrino-electron elastic scattering process.A reduced 2 MeV threshold for the recoil electron energy is found to be achievable,assuming that the intrinsic radioactive background^(238)U and^(232)Th in the liquid scintillator can be controlled to 10^(-17)g/g.With ten years of data acquisition,approximately 60,000 signal and 30,000 background events are expected.This large sample will enable an examination of the distortion of the recoil electron spectrum that is dominated by the neutrino flavor transformation in the dense solar matter,which will shed new light on the inconsistency between the measured electron spectra and the predictions of the standard three-flavor neutrino oscillation framework.IfDelta m^(2)_(21)=4.8times10^(-5);(7.5times10^(-5))eV^(2),JUNO can provide evidence of neutrino oscillation in the Earth at approximately the 3sigma(2sigma)level by measuring the non-zero signal rate variation with respect to the solar zenith angle.Moreover,JUNO can simultaneously measureDelta m^2_(21)using^8B solar neutrinos to a precision of 20% or better,depending on the central value,and to sub-percent precision using reactor antineutrinos.A comparison of these two measurements from the same detector will help understand the current mild inconsistency between the value of Delta m^2_(21)reported by solar neutrino experiments and the KamLAND 12Well-dispersive K2O-KCl alkaline catalyst derived from waste banana peel for biodiesel synthesis显示文摘In this work, a novel alkaline catalyst was synthesized by an economical and effective method of roasting waste banana peel. From XRD, FTIR, SEM, EDS, TGA and CO2-TPD characterization, it was proved that the calcined banana peel catalyst showed the strong alkalinity and well dispersity in microstructure, and K2O-KCl as the main active contents. The calcined banana peel catalyst showed better catalytic performance than the catalysts by physical mixing of K2O and KCl, which was due to good dispersibility of K2O-KCl formed during decomposing of carbon fiber by calcination of banana peel. 13Gain deeper insights into traditional Chinese medicines using multidimensional chromatography combined with chemometric approaches显示文摘Traditional Chinese medicines(TCMs)possess a rich historical background,unique theoretical framework,remarkable therapeutic efficacy,and abundant resources.However,the modernization and internationalization of TCMs have faced significant obstacles due to their diverse ingredients and unknown mechanisms.To gain deeper insights into the phytochemicals and ensure the quality control of TCMs,there is an urgent need to enhance analytical techniques.Currently,two-dimensional(2D)chromatography,which incorporates two independent separation mechanisms,demonstrates superior separation capabilities compared to the traditional one-dimensional(1D)separation system when analyzing TCMs samples.Over the past decade,new techniques have been continuously developed to gain actionable insights from complex samples.This review presents the recent advancements in the application of multidimensional chromatography for the quality evaluation of TCMs,encompassing 2D-gas chromatography(GC),2D-liquid chromatography(LC),as well as emerging three-dimensional(3D)-GC,3D-LC,and their associated data-processing approaches.These studies highlight the promising potential of multidimensional chromatographic separation for future phytochemical analysis.Nevertheless,the increased separation capability has resulted in higher-order data sets and greater demands for data-processing tools.Considering that multidimensional chromatography is still a relatively nascent research field,further hardware enhancements and the implementation of chemometric methods are necessary to foster its robust development.Xinyue Yang Pingping Zeng Jin Wen Chuanlin Wang Liangyuan Yao Min He 2024Chinese Herbal Medicines2024,16,1:0
