| 2 | Preservation solutions used during abdominal transplantation:Current status and outcomes显示文摘Organ preservation remains an important contributing factor to graft and patient outcomes. During donor organ procurement and transportation, cellular injury is mitigated through the use of preservation solutions in conjunction with hypothermia. Various preservation solutions and protocols exist with widespread variability among transplant centers. In this review of abdominal organ preservation solutions, evolution of transplantation and graft preservation are discussed followed by classification of preservation solutions according to the composition of electrolytes, impermeants, buffers, antioxidants, and energy precursors. Lastly, pertinent clinical studies in the setting of hepatic, renal, pancreas, and intestinal transplantation are reviewed for patient and graft survival as well as financial considerations. In liver transplants there may be some benefit with the use of histidine-tryptophan-ketoglutarate(HTK) over University of Wisconsin solution in terms of biliary complications and potential cost savings. Renal grafts may experience increased initial graft dysfunction with the use of Euro-Collins thereby dissuading its use in support of HTK which can lead to substantial cost savings. University of Wisconsin solution and Celsior are favored in pancreas transplants given the concern for pancreatitis and graft thrombosis associated with HTK. No difference was observed with preservation solutions with respect to graft and patient survival in liver, renal, and pancreas transplants. Studies involving intestinal transplants are sparse but University of Wisconsin solution infused intraluminally in combination with an intra-vascular washout is a reasonable option until further evidence can be generated. | 3 | Burn injury prevention in low-and middleincome countries:scoping systematic review显示文摘Background:Burn injuries are a leading cause of morbidity and disability,with the burden of disease being disproportionately higher in low-and middle-income countries(LMIC).Burn prevention programmes have led to significant reductions in the incidence of burns in high-income countries.However,a previous systematic review published in 2015 highlighted that implementation and evaluation of similar programmes has been limited in LMIC.The objective of this scoping review and narrative synthesis was to summarise and understand the initiatives that have been carried out to reduce burn injuries in LMIC and their effectiveness.Methods:We aimed to identify publications that described studies of effectiveness of burn prevention interventions applied to any population within a LMIC and measured burn incidence or burns-related outcomes.Suitable publications were identified from three sources.Firstly,data was extracted from manuscripts identified in the systematic review published by Rybarczyk et al.We then performed a search for manuscripts on burn prevention interventions published between January 2015 and September 2020.Finally,we extracted data from two systematic reviews where burn evidence was not the primary outcome,which were identified by senior authors.A quality assessment and narrative synthesis of included manuscripts were performed.Results:In total,24 manuscripts were identified and categorized according to intervention type.The majority of manuscripts(n=16)described education-based interventions.Four manuscripts focused on environmental modification interventions and four adopted a mixedmethods approach.All of the education-based initiatives demonstrated improvements in knowledge relating to burn safety or first aid,however few measured the impact of their intervention on burn incidence.Four manuscripts described population-based educational interventions and noted reductions in burn incidence.Only one of the four manuscripts describing environmental modification interventions reported burns as a primary outcome measure,noting a reduction in burn incidence.All mixed-method interventions demonstrated some positive improvements in either burn incidence or burns-related safety practices.Conclusion:There is a lack of published literature describing large-scale burn prevention programmes in LMIC that can demonstrate sustained reductions in burn incidence.Populationlevel,collaborative projects are necessary to drive forward burn prevention through specific environmental or legislative changes and supplementary educational programmes. | Kate Price Kwang Chear Lee Katherine E.Woolley Henry Falk Michael Peck Richard Lilford Naiem Moiemen | 2021 | Burns & Trauma2021,9,1: | 4 |

| 5 | 软组织肉瘤术后局部复发因素分析显示文摘目的探讨软组织肉瘤(soft tissue sarcoma,STS)患者术后局部复发的因素。方法回顾分析1995年至2010年,英国爱丁堡皇家医院手术治疗的79例STS患者的随访结果。男44例,女35例;年龄18-97岁,平均62.9岁。79例随访6-139个月,平均41个月。组织学诊断由2名隶属于英国国家组织病理学专家组的成员来确定。肿瘤分级按Trojani分级评定。Trojani 1级定义为低度恶性,Trojani 2级和3级定义为高度恶性。阳性外科边界的标准是,在组织学切片上,发现切除边缘任何部位存在肿瘤细胞。结果本组79例中,21例阳性边界者14例复发,7例未复发;58例阴性边界者9例复发,49例未复发(P〈0.0001,OR=10.9)。53例高度恶性者20例复发,33例未复发;26例低度恶性者,3例复发,23例未复发(P=0.016,OR=4.6)。43例进行辅助治疗者19例复发,24例未复发;36例非辅助治疗者4例复发,32例未复发(P=0.001,OR=6.3)。17例肿瘤转移者8例复发,9例未复发;62例未转移者15例复发,47例未复发(P=0.07,OR=2.8)。肿瘤组织学分级、阳性边界和是否进行辅助治疗是局部复发的相关因素;肿瘤是否转移与局部复发无相关性。高度恶性肿瘤是低度恶性肿瘤的5.2倍,阳性边界是阴性边界的3.3倍,是导致局部复发的独立危险因素。结论外科边界和肿瘤组织学级别是导致局部复发的最重要影响因素。高度恶性肿瘤患者的阳性边界通常会提高肿瘤的复发几率。 | 江军 Oliver Peck Nicholas D Clement Daniel Edward Porter | 2015 | 中国骨与关节杂志2015,4,7: | 3 |

| 8 | Surface patterning and modification of polyurethane biomaterials using silsesquioxane-gelatin additives for improved endothelial affinity显示文摘Polyurethanes(PUs) are well-known for their biocompatibility but their intrinsic inert property hampers cell-matrix interactions. Surface modifications are thus necessary to widen their use for biomedical applications. In this work, surface modifications of PU were achieved first by incorporating polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane(POSS), followed by alteration of the surface topography via the breath figures method. Subsequently, surface chemistry was also modified by immobilization of gelatin molecules through grafting, for the enhancement of the surface cytocompatibility. Scanning electron microscopy(SEM) was used to verify the formation of highly ordered microstructures while static contact angle, FTIR and XPS confirmed the successful grafting of gelatin molecules onto the surfaces. In vitro culture of human umbilical vein endothelial cells(HUVECs) revealed that endothelial cell adhesion and proliferation were significantly enhanced on the gelatin-modified surfaces, as shown by live/dead staining and WST-1 proliferation assay. The results indicated that the combination of the strategies yielded an interface that improves cell attachment and subsequent growth. | 12 | ^(99m)TC-Methylene diphosphonate uptake at injury site correlates with osteoblast differentiation and mineralization during bone healing in mice显示文摘99m Tc-Methylene diphosphonate(99m Tc-MDP) is widely used in clinical settings to detect bone abnormalities.However, the mechanism of99 m Tc-MDP uptake in bone is not well elucidated. In this study, we utilized a mouse tibia injury model, single-photon emission computed tomography(gamma scintigraphy or SPECT),ex vivo micro-computed tomography, and histology to monitor99 m Tc-MDP uptake in injury sites during skeletal healing. In an ex vivo culture system, calvarial cells were differentiated into osteoblasts with osteogenic medium, pulsed with99 m Tc-MDP at different time points, and quantitated for99 m Tc-MDP uptake with a gamma counter. We demonstrated that99 m Tc-MDP uptake in the injury sites corresponded to osteoblast generation in those sites throughout the healing process. The99 m Tc-MDP uptake within the injury sites peaked on day 7 post-injury, while the injury sites were occupied by mature osteoblasts also starting from day 7.99 m Tc-MDP uptake started to decrease 14 days post-surgery, when we observed the highest level of bony tissue in the injury sites. We also found that99 m Tc-MDP uptake was associated with osteoblast maturation and mineralization in vitro.
