1Biodiesel production from green seaweed Ulva fasciata catalyzed by novel waste catalysts from Pakistan Steel Industry显示文摘This research article is based on the biodiesel synthesis from the marine green macroalga Ulva fasciata, collected from the coast of Karachi, Pakistan using new and the most potential waste catalysts from Pakistan Steel Industry.The oil was extracted with n-hexane then it was analyzed by GC, TLC and by the examination of fuel properties.The metal analysis of catalysts was carried out by chemical tests and flame atomic absorption spectroscopy(FAAS). The thermal treatment of catalysts at 1500–1700 °C during various processes in steel manufacturing industry converted the metals to metal oxides. The presence of CaO, MgO and ZnO in these catalysts made them highly reactive for biodiesel synthesis. The basicity of waste industrial catalysts was calculated to know their basic strength. The transesterification of U. fasciata oil was performed by fast stirring using 9:1 molar ratio of methanol/oil in the presence of seven different waste industrial catalysts for 6 h at 80–100 °C. The solid catalysts were easily separated from product for re-use. In addition, the rate of reaction in the presence of these catalysts was found to be quite feasible. The waste brown dust from the steel converter gave the highest yield(88%) of biodiesel. 4A Novel Wrapper-Based Optimization Algorithm for the Feature Selection and Classification显示文摘Machine learning(ML)practices such as classification have played a very important role in classifying diseases in medical science.Since medical science is a sensitive field,the pre-processing of medical data requires careful handling to make quality clinical decisions.Generally,medical data is considered high-dimensional and complex data that contains many irrelevant and redundant features.These factors indirectly upset the disease prediction and classification accuracy of any ML model.To address this issue,various data pre-processing methods called Feature Selection(FS)techniques have been presented in the literature.However,the majority of such techniques frequently suffer from local minima issues due to large solution space.Thus,this study has proposed a novel wrapper-based Sand Cat SwarmOptimization(SCSO)technique as an FS approach to find optimum features from ten benchmark medical datasets.The SCSO algorithm replicates the hunting and searching strategies of the sand cat while having the advantage of avoiding local optima and finding the ideal solution with minimal control variables.Moreover,K-Nearest Neighbor(KNN)classifier was used to evaluate the effectiveness of the features identified by the proposed SCSO algorithm.The performance of the proposed SCSO algorithm was compared with six state-of-the-art and recent wrapper-based optimization algorithms using the validation metrics of classification accuracy,optimum feature size,and computational cost in seconds.The simulation results on the benchmark medical datasets revealed that the proposed SCSO-KNN approach has outperformed comparative algorithms with an average classification accuracy of 93.96%by selecting 14.2 features within 1.91 s.Additionally,the Wilcoxon rank test was used to perform the significance analysis between the proposed SCSOKNN method and six other algorithms for a p-value less than 5.00E-02.The findings revealed that the proposed algorithm produces better outcomes with an average p-value of 1.82E-02.Moreover,potential future directions are also suggested as a result of the study’s promising findings.Noureen Talpur Said Jadid Abdulkadir Mohd Hilmi Hasan Hitham Alhussian Ayed Alwadain 2023Computers, Materials & Continua2023,,3:1

6ZIF-8/C60复合物衍生电催化剂的制备及其水氧化性能显示文摘电解水析氧反应(OER)是获得氢能源的重要环节,目前商业化的贵金属催化剂高昂的成本极大地限制了电解水产氢的市场化推广,因此开发新型非金属基的OER电催化剂具有重要的研究价值.该工作首次采用共沉淀法将沸石咪唑酯(ZIF-8)与富勒烯C 60进行复合,成功制备了ZIF-8/C 60复合物,产物经高温煅烧获得了多孔碳材料ZIF-8/C 60-C,采用XRD、SEM、TEM、Raman等手段对产物进行了结构和形貌表征,电化学测试结果表明该催化剂具有良好的OER活性,相比于直接碳化的ZIF-8(ZIF-8-C)和ZIF-8/C 60,ZIF-8/C 60-C表现出最小的过电位和Tafel斜率,这得益于其较小的电荷转移电阻和较大的电化学活性面积(ECSA),说明富勒烯的引入不仅提高了复合材料的导电性,而且增加了催化活性位点.稳定性测试表明该催化剂可以连续稳定使用6 h.该工作为制备新型碳基纳米电催化剂提供了新的思路.董沛沛 刘倩 师丽娟 Noureen Syed 王潇 陈俊生 冯伟航 王海 黄剑锋 冯永强 2020陕西科技大学学报2020,38,5:1

11Pistacia chinensis:Strong antioxidant and potent testicular toxicity amelioration agent显示文摘Objective:To evaluate in ritro and in riro antioxidant potency of Pistacia chinensis(P.chinensis) bark and leaves extracts along with its protective role against CCl_4 induced toxicity in testis of the rat.Methods Various in vitro models such as DPPH,ABTS,hydrogen peroxide,superoxide,hydroxyl and nitric oxide scavenging activities,anti-lipid peroxidation activity,phospho-molybdenum activity.β carotene bleaching assay was used for analysis of antioxidant potential.Experimental groups for in riro study were:Group Ⅰ(control)untreated.Group Ⅱ(Vehicle control).Group Ⅲ(1 mL/kg b.w 30%CCl_4).Group Ⅳ(1 mL/kg b.w CCk_4+Silymarin).Group Ⅴ(200 mg/kg b.w PCBE+CCl_4),Group Ⅵ(400 mg/kg b.w PCBE+CCl_4) and Group Ⅶ(400 mg/kg b.w PCBE alone).Results:In ritro antioxidant assays displayed significant results and the highest activity was not specified to a specific extract.However,ethyl acetate extract of bark(PCBF) showed highest results in most of the antioxidant assays i.e.beta-carotene bleaching,hydroxyl radical scavenging.ABTS.lipid peroxidation and superoxide radical scavenging activity.On this base,this fraction was selected for in riro antioxidant experiment.Testis tissues were analyzed to observe the protective effects of PCBE on antioxidant enzymes:cataluse,superoxide dismutase.peroxidase.glutathione-Stransferase.glutathione reductase,glutathione peroxidase and quinone reductase activities and glutathione(GSH) as well as nitrite content.Profile of plasma testosterone was also compared to various treatments.Observation suggests a protective role of P.chinensis against CCl_4induced toxicity.Conclusions:It is concluded that some bioactive antioxidants of P.chinensis bark might be a good source to isolate the potent antioxidant components.Farah Noureen Muhammad Rashid Khan Naseer Ali Shah Rahmat Ali Khan Kiran Naz Saadia Sattar 2017Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2017,10,4:1

14Meta-analysis of transanal vs laparoscopic total mesorectal excision of low rectal cancer:Importance of appropriate patient selection显示文摘BACKGROUND Achieving a clear resection margins for low rectal cancer is technically challenging.Transanal approach to total mesorectal excision(TME)was introduced in order to address the challenges associated with the laparoscopic approach in treating low rectal cancers.However,previous meta-analyses have included mixed population with mid and low rectal tumours when comparing both approaches which has made the interpretation of the real differences between two approaches in treating low rectal cancer difficult.AIM To investigate the outcomes of transanal TME(TaTME)and laparoscopic TME(LaTME)in patients with low rectal cancer.METHODS A comprehensive systematic review of comparative studies was performed in line with Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses standards.Intraoperative and postoperative complications,anastomotic leak,R0 resection,completeness of mesorectal excision,circumferential resection margin(CRM),distal resection margin(DRM),harvested lymph nodes,and operation time were the investigated outcome measures.RESULTS We included twelve comparative studies enrolling 969 patients comparing TaTME(n=969)and LaTME(n=476)in patients with low rectal tumours.TaTME was associated with significantly lower risk of postoperative complications(OR:0.74,P=0.04),anastomotic leak(OR:0.59,P=0.02),and conversion to an open procedure(OR:0.29,P=0.002)in comparison with LaTME.Moreover,the rate of R0 resection was significantly higher in the TaTME group(OR:1.96,P=0.03).Nevertheless,TaTME and LaTME were comparable in terms of rate of intraoperative complications(OR:1.87;P=0.23),completeness of mesoractal excision(OR:1.57,P=0.15),harvested lymph nodes(MD:-0.05,P=0.96),DRM(MD:-0.94;P=0.17),CRM(MD:1.08,P=0.17),positive CRM(OR:0.64,P=0.11)and procedure time(MD:-6.99 min,P=0.45).CONCLUSION Our findings indicated that for low rectal tumours,TaTME is associated with better clinical and short term oncological outcomes compared to LaTME.More randomised controlled trials are required to confirm these findings and to evaluate long term oncological and functional outcomes.Pratik Bhattacharya Ishaan Patel Noureen Fazili Shahab Hajibandeh Shahin Hajibandeh 2022World Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery2022,14,12:0
15Multi-Modality and Feature Fusion-Based COVID-19 Detection Through Long Short-Term Memory显示文摘The Coronavirus Disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic poses the worldwide challenges surpassing the boundaries of country,religion,race,and economy.The current benchmark method for the detection of COVID-19 is the reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR)testing.Nevertheless,this testing method is accurate enough for the diagnosis of COVID-19.However,it is time-consuming,expensive,expert-dependent,and violates social distancing.In this paper,this research proposed an effective multimodality-based and feature fusion-based(MMFF)COVID-19 detection technique through deep neural networks.In multi-modality,we have utilized the cough samples,breathe samples and sound samples of healthy as well as COVID-19 patients from publicly available COSWARA dataset.Extensive set of experimental analyses were performed to evaluate the performance of our proposed approach.Several useful features were extracted from the aforementioned modalities that were then fed as an input to long short-term memory recurrent neural network algorithms for the classification purpose.Extensive set of experimental analyses were performed to evaluate the performance of our proposed approach.The experimental results showed that our proposed approach outperformed compared to four baseline approaches published recently.We believe that our proposed technique will assists potential users to diagnose the COVID-19 without the intervention of any expert in minimum amount of time.Noureen Fatima Rashid Jahangir Ghulam Mujtaba Adnan Akhunzada Zahid Hussain Shaikh Faiza Qureshi 2022Computers, Materials & Continua2022,,9:0
16Length-weight relationship of eleven species of marine catfishes from the northern Arabian Sea coast of Pakistan显示文摘This study records length-weight relationships(LWRs)for eleven commercially important marine catfi sh species of the family Ariidae(sea catfi shes)and Plotosidae(eel catfi shes)from the northern Arabian Sea coast of Pakistan.The specimens were sampled from December 2014 to November 2015,using bottom trawls with various mesh sizes by commercial vessels.The species were Nemapteryx caelatus,Sciades sona,Arius gagora,Batrachocephalus mino,Netuma thalassina,N.bilineata,Osteogeneiosus militaris,Plicofollis dussumieri,P.tenuispinis,Plotosus limbatus,and P.lineatus.Of the eleven species,two species A.gagora and N.bilineata were recorded for the fi rst time and LWRs for four species A.gagora,N.bilineata,S.sona,and B.mino still have no data in the Fish Base database.In addition,new maximum length for each of the three species N.bilineata,O.militaris and B.m ino was also found.Noureen FAROOQ Nazia QAMAR Shahnaz RASHID Sher Khan PANHWAR 2017Chinese Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2017,35,5:0
17Biodiesel synthesis via metal oxides and metal chlorides catalysis from marine alga Melanothamnus afaqhusainii显示文摘This research article demonstrates the most comprehensive comparative catalytic study of different metal oxides and metal chlorides towards the methanolysis of triglycerides of marine red macroalga Melanothamnus afaqhusainii.CaO was found to be the most reactive metal oxide that yielded 80% biodiesel while ZnCl_2 was the most reactive metal chloride that produced 60% biodiesel by mechanical stirring for 6 h at 100–110 °C.The overall reactivity order of the catalysts was found to be CaO>MgO>PbO_2>ZnCl_2>TiCl_4>PbO>HgCl_2>ZnO>AlCl_3>SnCl_2>TiO_2whereas,CaCl_2,MgCl_2,Al_2O_3,HgO,PbCl_2,MnO_2,MnCl_2,Fe_2O_3 and FeCl_3 were found to be non-reactive for transesterification of triglycerides.In addition,a detailed study of the screening of mobile phases and spraying reagents was conducted which showed that petroleum ether :chloroform :toluene(7:2:1)is the best mobile phase,whereas iodine crystals/silica gel is the best visualizing agent for the thin layer chromatography(TLC)examination of biodiesel.Biodiesel production was confirmed by comparative TLC examination.It was further supported by the determination of fuel properties of biodiesel,which were found to be similar to the standard limits of American Society for Testing and Materials(ASTM).Abdul Majeed Khan Noureen Fatima 2016Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2016,24,3:0
