| 1 | Evaluation of extracts and essential oil from Callistemon viminalis leaves:Antibacterial and antioxidant activities,total phenolic and flavonoid contents显示文摘Objective:To investigate antioxidant and antibacterial activities of Callistemon viminalis(C.viminalis)leaves.Methods:The essential oil of C.viminalis leaves obtained by hydrodistillation was analyzed by GC/MS.Different extracts were tested for total phenolic and flavonoid contents and in vitro antioxidant(DPPH assay)and antibacterial(agar disc diffusion and 96-well micro-plates methods)actives.Results:Fourteen components were identified in the essential oil,representing 98.94%of the total oil.The major components were 1,8-cineole(64.53%)andα-pinene(9.69%).Leaf essential oil exhibited the highest antioxidant activity of(88.60±1.51)%comparable to gallic acid,a standard compound[(80.00±2.12)%].Additionally,the biggest zone of inhibitions against the studied bacterial strains was observed by the essential oil when compared to the standard antibiotic(tetracycline).The crude methanol extract and ethyl acetate fraction had a significant antibacterial activity against the tested bacterial strains.Conclusions:It can be suggested that C.viminalis is a great potential source of antibacterial and antioxidant compounds useful for new antimicrobial drugs from the natural basis.The present study revealed that the essential oil as well as the methanol extracts and ethyl acetate fraction of C.viminalis leaves exhibited highly significant antibacterial activity against the tested bacterial strains. | Mohamed ZM Salem Hayssam M Ali Nader A El-Shanhorey Ahmed Abdel-Megeed | 2013 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2013,6,10: | 14 |
| 2 | Preemptive mechanical ventilation can block progressive acute lung injury显示文摘Mortality from acute respiratory distress syndrome(ARDS) remains unacceptable, approaching 45% in certain high-risk patient populations. Treating fulminant ARDS is currently relegated to supportive care measures only. Thus, the best treatment for ARDS may lie with preventing this syndrome from ever occurring. Clinical studies were examined to determine why ARDS has remained resistant to treatment over the past several decades. In addition, both basic science and clinical studies were examined to determine the impact that early, protective mechanical ventilation may have on preventing the development of ARDS in at-risk patients. Fulminant ARDS is highly resistant to both pharmacologic treatment and methods of mechanical ventilation. However, ARDS is a progressive disease with an early treatment window that can be exploited. In particular, protective mechanical ventilation initiated before the onset of lung injury can prevent the progression to ARDS. Airway pressure release ventilation(APRV) is a novel mechanical ventilation strategy for delivering a protective breath that has been shown to block progressive acute lung injury(ALI) and prevent ALI from progressing to ARDS. ARDS mortality currently remains as high as 45% in some studies. As ARDS is a progressive disease, the key to treatment lies with preventing the disease from ever occurring while it remains subclinical. | 4 | 微空心阴极放电机理及其在电热式推力器中的应用显示文摘近年来,微空心阴极放电(MHCD)技术的发展为研制适用于小卫星的先进新型微推力器提供了可能。MHCD是微放电领域中一种新颖的非平衡高气压辉光放电,其优点是可以在高气压下稳定放电,并且只需要非常低的电压(几百伏特)或者输入功率(百毫瓦数量级)。本文针对MHCD,实验研究了微放电的电流-电压特性,并利用光学发射光谱的方法测量了微等离子体中电子数密度和中性气体温度。结果表明,在稳定的辉光放电下,MHCD孔内的电子数密度和中性气体温度随着压强和放电电流的增加而增大,电子数密度可达1014cm-3,中性气体温度可达1000K。由此可以推断,微空心阴极放电较小的尺寸结构与强烈并可控的气体加热相结合,完全可以开发应用在新型的电热式等离子体推进上,研制成微空心阴极放电等离子体推力器。由于在微放电等离子体中加热了工质气体,因此其性能可大大高于冷气推进。 | 夏广庆 毛根旺 Nader Sadeghi | 2008 | 宇航学报2008,29,5: | 6 |
| 5 | Experimental evaluation of mechanically stabilized earth walls with recycled crumb rubbers显示文摘Traditional techniques for treatment of waste rubber, such as burning, generate some highly nondegradable synthetic materials that cause unrepairable environmental damages by releasing heavy metals, such as arsenic, chromium, lead, manganese and nickel. For this, scrap tires are used as lightweight alternative materials in many engineering applications, such as retaining wall backfilling. In the present study, 90 laboratory models were prepared to evaluate the stability of mechanically stabilized earth(MSE) walls with plate anchors. Then, the bearing capacity and horizontal displacements of the retaining walls were monitored by exerting a static loading to investigate the effects of adding different contents(5 wt%, 10 wt%, 15 wt% and 20 wt%) of recycled crumb rubber(RCR) to the fill of a mechanically stabilized retaining wall with plate anchors. To visualize the critical slip surface of the wall, the particle image velocimetry(PIV) technique was employed. Results showed that the circular anchor plates almost continually provided a higher bearing capacity and wall stability than the square plates. Moreover, the backfill with 15 wt% RCR provided the maximum bearing capacity of the wall. Increasing the weight percentage of RCR to 20 wt% resulted in a significant reduction in horizontal displacement of the wall,which occurred due to the decrease in lateral earth pressure against the whole walls. | 8 | Diversity of Helicobacter pylori genotypes in Iranian patients with different gastroduodenal disorders显示文摘AIM:To investigate the diversity of Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori)genotypes and correlations with disease outcomes in an Iranian population with different gastroduodenal disorders.METHODS:Isolates of H.pylori from patients with different gastroduodenal disorders were analyzed after culture and identification by phenotypic and genotypic methods.Genomic DNA was extracted with the QIAamp DNA mini kit(Qiagen,Germany).After DNA extraction,genotyping was done for cagA,vacA(s and m regions),iceA(iceA1,iceA2)and babA with specific primers for each allele using polymerase chain reaction(PCR).All patients’pathologic and clinical data and their relation with known genotypes were analyzed by using SPSS version 19.0 software.2test and Fisher’s exact test were used to assess relationships between categorical variables.The level of statistical significance was set at P<0.05.RESULTS:A total of 71 isolates from 177 patients with different gastroduodenal disorders were obtained.Based on analysis of the cagA gene(positive or negative),vacA s-region(s1or s2),vacA m-region(m1or m2),iceA allelic type(iceA1and iceA2)and babA gene(positive or negative),twenty different genotypic combinations were recognized.The prevalence of cagA,vacA s1,vacA s2,vacA m1,vacA m2,iceA1,iceA2,iceA1+iceA2and babA were 62%,78.9%,19.7%,21.1%,78.9%,15.5%,22.5%,40.8%and 95.8%,respectively.Interestingly,evaluation of PCR results for cagA in 6 patients showed simultaneous existence of cagA variants according to their size diversities that proposed mixed infection in these patients.The most prevalent genotype in cagA-positive isolates was cagA+/vacAs1m2/iceA1+A2/babA+and in cagA-negative isolates was cagA-/vacAs1m2/iceA-/babA+.There were no relationships between the studied genes and histo-pathological findings(H.pylori density,neutrophil activity,lymphoid aggregation in lamina propria and glandular atrophy).The strains which carry cagA,vacAs1/m1,iceA2and babA genes showed significant associations with severe active chronic gastritis(P=0.011,0.025,0.020 and 0.031,respectively).The vacAs1genotype had significant correlation with the presence of the cagA gene(P=0.013).Also,babA genotype showed associations with cagA(P=0.024).In the combined genotypes,only cagA+/vacAs1m1/iceA2/babA+genotype showed correlation with severe active chronic gastritis(P=0.025).CONCLUSION:This genotyping panel can be a useful tool for detection of virulent H.pylori isolates and can provide valuable guidance for prediction of the clinical outcomes. | Farzam Vaziri Shahin Najar Peerayeh Masoud Alebouyeh Tabassom Mirzaei Yoshio Yamaoka Mahsa Molaei Nader Maghsoudi Mohammad Reza Zali | 2013 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2013,19,34: | 5 |

| 11 | Densification behavior of yttria-stabilized zirconia powders for solid oxide fuel cell electrolytes显示文摘Yttria-stabilized zirconia(YSZ) is the most common electrolyte material for solid oxide fuel cells. Herein, we conducted a comparative study on the densification behavior of three different kinds of commercial 8 mol% YSZ powders:(i) TZ-8Y(Tosoh, Japan),(ii) MELox 8Y(MEL Chemicals, UK), and(iii) YSZ-HT(Huatsing Power, China). The comparison was made on both the selfsupporting pellets and thin-film electrolytes coated onto a NiO–YSZ anode support. For the pellets, MELox 8Y showed the highest densification at lower sintering temperatures with 93% and 96% of the theoretical density at 1250 and 1300 ℃, respectively. Although YSZ-HT showed a higher sintering rate than TZ-8Y, a sintering temperature of 1350 ℃ was required for both the powders to reach 95% of the theoretical density. For the thin-film electrolytes, on the other hand, YSZ-HT showed the highest sintering rate with a dense microstructure at a co-sintering temperature of 1250 ℃. Our results indicate that besides the average particle size, other factors such as particle size distribution and post-processing play a significant role in determining the sintering rate and densification behavior of the YSZ powders. | 14 | Ag/TiO_2/freeze-dried graphene nanocomposite as a high performance photocatalyst under visible light irradiation显示文摘Ag/TiO_2/freeze-dried graphene nanocomposites have been prepared via a facile one-step solvothermal method for the photocatalytic degradation of Rh B under visible light irradiation. During the solvothermal process, reduction of graphene oxide and loading of Ag/TiO_2 nanoparticles on graphene sheets were achieved. Investigation of chemical state of products showed that covering of Ag/TiO_2 surface with higher weight ratio of graphene resulting in that Ag metals in Ag/TiO_2 were oxidized to Ag2 O in nanocomposite structure after solvothermal process. Degree of photocatalytic activity enhancement strongly depends on the coverage of Ag/TiO_2 surface by porous graphene. The sample of 1 wt% porous graphene hybridized Ag/TiO_2 showed the highest photocatalytic activity, which is related to high migration efficiency of photoinduced of electrons and reduction of electron–hole recombination rate due to high electrical conductivity of graphene. Expanding of absorption to visible light region was ascribed to surface plasmon resonance effect of Ag metals and presence of graphene. 目的:直接比较总胆固醇(totalcholesterol,TC)、低密度脂蛋白胆固醇(LDL-C)、HDL-C、non-HDL-C、载脂蛋白A-I(apoA-I)及B100(apoB100)、高敏C-反应蛋白(高敏CRP)以及TC与HDL-C、LDL-C与HDL-C、apoB100与apoA-I、apoB100与HDL-C比值,在妇女作为将来心血管事件预测指标的临床用途。
设计、地点及参试者:于15 632例起始健康美国妇女进行的前瞻性队列研究。1992年11月至1995年7月人组时年龄≥45岁(4分位范围48~59岁)。所有参试者均经10年随访,观察将来心血管事件的发生情况。
主要观测指标:按照各项生化指标不同基线值而确定的首次主要心血管事件(n=4 764)的风险比(hazard ratios,HRs)及95%可信区间(confidence intervals,CIs)。
结果:在校正年龄、吸烟状况、血压、糖尿病及体重指数后,测量结果在最高5分位者将来发生心血管事件的风险比LDL-C为1.62(95%CI,1.17~2.25),apoA-I为1.75(95%CI,1.30~2.38),TC为2.08(95%CI,1.45~2.97),HDL-C为2.32(95%CI,1.64~3.33),apoB100为2.50(95%CI,1.68~3.72),non-HDL-C为2.51(95%CI,1.69~3.72),高敏CRP为2.98(95%CI,1.90~4.67)(P<0.001,趋势贯穿所有5分位)。脂质比值风险比,apoBl00与apoA-I为3.01(95%CI,2.01~4.50),LDL-C与HDL-C为3.18(95%CI,2.12~4.75),apoB100与HDL-C为3.56(95%CI,2.31~5.47),TC与HDL-C为3.81(95%CI,2.47~5.86)(P<0.001,趋势贯穿所有5分位)。高敏CRP与脂质参数的相关系数范围为-0.33到0.15,以CRP<1、1~3和>3 ms/L为临床分割点,可对每项脂质测量及脂质比值水平增加提供预后危险信息。

| 19 | Comparative induction of controlled circulation by magnesium and remifentanil in spine surgery显示文摘AIM: To evaluate the efficacy of magnesium sulfate(MGS) in comparison with remifentanil for induction of relative hypotension in posterior fusion of spine(PSF).METHODS: In this randomized clinical trial, 40 patients with the American Society of Anesthesiologists Ⅰ and Ⅱ physical status undergoing lumbar PSF were randomized to receive remifentanil(REM) 0.15 μg/kg or MGS 50 mg/kg for controlled hypotension. The administering anesthesiologist was blinded to the medication. Continuous infusion was maintained at a fixed volume rate to deliver precalculated doses of either study drugs. All other aspects of anesthesia and surgery were similar in the two groups. The target mean arterial pressure(MAP) range used in this study was 60-70 mm Hg. In the course of surgery, the hemodynamic variables, volumeof blood loss, urine output, fluid intake and surgeon's satisfaction were recorded. Data was analyzed with SPSS version 13.0 and P values less than 0.05 were considered significant.RESULTS: Twenty patients in the MGS group and 19 patients in the REM group were studied. There was no difference between the two groups in the hemodynamic variables, blood loss, urine output, fluid requirement and surgeon's satisfaction for exposure. The target MAP was achieved in 75% of Mg and 58% of remifentanil groups. | 20 | Ionic Conductivity in Gelatin-Based Hybrid Solid Electrolytes:The Non-trivial Role of Nanoclay显示文摘In this study, the ionic conductivity behavior in hybrid gelatin-based transparent electrolytes including various types of nanoclays with different size, shape and surface properties was characterized. The effects of nanoclay type and nanoclay concentration as well as different experimental conditions, e.g., p H, temperature and crosslinking were also investigated. In general, the impedance spectroscopy results suggested a nontrivial role for nanoclay. Regardless of the nanoclay type, the ionic conductivity slightly increased first and then decreased by increasing the nanoclay concentration. Furthermore, among sodium montmorillonite(Na t MMT), lithium montmorillonite(Li t MMT), laponite and hydrotalcite, the hybrid electrolytes prepared by Li t MMT showed higher ionic conductivity. The results also showed that the chemical crosslinking along with sample preparation at optimum p H, where the gelatin chains might be efficiently adsorbed on exfoliated,negatively charged clay nanosheets, plays an important role. In comparison with the ionic conductivity of the neat sample at room temperature(w107S cm1), a ten-fold increase was observed for the crosslinked sample containing 2 wt% of Li t MMT prepared at optimum p H 3.5. The conductivity behavior as a function of temperature revealed the obedience with the Vogel e Fulcher e Tammann(VFT) model for all samples,suggesting the important role of segmental motions in the ionic conductivity.
