| 4 | Evaluating role of bone marrow-derived stem cells in dry age-related macular degeneration using multifocal electroretinogram and fundus autofluorescence imaging显示文摘AIM:To evaluate the role of bone marrow-derived stem cells in the treatment of advanced dry age-related macular degeneration(AMD) using multifocal electroretinogram(mf-ERG) and fundus autofluorescence imaging.METHODS:Thirty patients(60 eyes) with bilateral central geographic atrophy(GA) were recruited.Worse eye of each patient received autologous bone marrow-derived hematopoietic stem cells(BM-HSCs)(group 1) and the fellow eye with better visual acuity served as control(group 2).The effect of stem cell therapy was determined in terms of visual acuity,amplitude and implicit time in mf-ERG and size of GA on fundus autofluorescence imaging.These tests were performed at presentation and first,third and sixth month follow up.Adverse events(if any) were also monitored.RESULTS:At 6 mo follow-up there was no statistically significant improvement in median log MAR best corrected visual acuity(BCVA) in either group.Mf-ERG revealed significant improvement in amplitude and implicit time in the intervention group.A significant decrease was also noted in greatest linear dimension(GLD) of GA in the eyes receiving stem cells [6.78±2.60 mm at baseline to 6.56±2.59 mm at 6 mo(P=0.021)].However,no such improvement was noted in the control group.CONCLUSION:Electrophysiological and anatomical improvement in the intervention group sheds light on the therapeutic role of BM-HSCs.Further studies are required to determine the stage of disease at which the maximal benefit can be achieved and to standardize the dose and frequency of stem cell injection. | Atul Kumar Neha Midha Sujata Mohanty Annu Chohan Tulika Seth Varun Gogia Shikha Gupta | 2017 | International Journal of Ophthalmology(English edition)2017,10,10: | 1 |

| 9 | Nurses and nursing students’knowledge regarding blood transfusion:A comparative cross-sectional study显示文摘Objective:The objective of this study is to measure and compare the knowledge of nursing students and nurses on blood transfusion in an Indian context.Materials and Methods:The present comparative,cross-sectional study enrolled 296 nurses and 177 nursing students through a purposive sampling from a medical university hospital and different nursing institutions.The data were collected in the month of June and July of year 2021,using a self-structured questionnaire.The questionnaire had two sections:Section-I contained demographic data(8 items for nurses and 5 for students)and section-II included 26 items that assessed nurses’and nursing students’knowledge on blood transfusion.Results:Findings indicated that nurses and nursing students had insufficient knowledge about blood transfusion.Nurses,however,had significantly greater total blood transfusion knowledge scores than nursing students(16.51±3.85 vs.12.10±3.28;P<0.001).The marital status(adjusted odds ratio[AOR]=0.456,95%confidence interval[CI]0.244,0.853;P=0.037),educational level(AOR=5.072,95%CI 1.982,9.634(P=0.003);AOR=6.540,95%CI 2.54,16.871;P=0.001)and work experience(AOR=0.216,95%CI 0.067,0.702[P=0.037];AOR=0.331,95%CI 0.135,0.811;P=0.013)were the significant predictors of the level of knowledge among nurses.The attendance in any educational programme on blood transfusion(AOR=0.225,95%CI:0.062,0.818;P=0.041)was a significant predictor of the level of knowledge among nursing students.Conclusion:Nurses and nursing students have unsatisfactory knowledge on blood transfusion;emphasizing the critical need for immediate and successful teaching activities in this area. | Rakhi GAUR Shiv Kumar MUDGAL Neha SUYAL Suresh Kumar SHARMA Rajat AGARWAL Ritu RAJ Chaturvedi JITENDER | 2022 | Journal of Integrative Nursing2022,4,3: | 0 |

| 13 | Nitric-oxide enriched plasma-activated water inactivates 229E coronavirus and alters antiviral response genes in human lung host cells显示文摘The ongoing pandemic caused by the novel coronavirus,SARS-CoV-2,is influencing global health.Moreover,there is a major threat of future coronaviruses affecting the entire world in a similar,or even more dreadful,manner.Therefore,effective and biocompatible therapeutic options against coronaviruses are urgently needed.To address this challenge,medical specialists require a well-informed and safe approach to treating human coronaviruses(HCoVs).Herein,an environmental friendly approach for viral inactivation,based on plasma technology,was considered.A microwave plasma system was employed for the generation of the high amount of gaseous nitric oxide to prepare nitric oxide enriched plasma-activated water(NO-PAW),the effects of which on coronaviruses,have not been reported to date.To determine these effects,alpha-HCoV-229E was used in an experimental model.We found that NO-PAW treatment effectively inhibited coronavirus infection in host lung cells,visualized by evaluating the cytopathic effect and expression level of spike proteins.Interestingly,NO-PAW showed minimal toxicity towards lung host cells,suggesting its potential for therapeutic application.Moreover,this new approach resulted in viral inactivation and greatly improved the gene levels involved in host antiviral responses.Together,our findings provide evidence of an initiation point for further progress toward the clinical development of antiviral treatments,including such coronaviruses. | Nagendra Kumar Kaushik Pradeep Bhartiya Neha Kaushik Yungoh Shin Linh Nhat Nguyen Jang Sick Park Doyoung Kim Eun Ha Choi | 2023 | Bioactive Materials2023,,1: | 0 |
| 14 | Analysis of risk factors contributing to road traffic accidents in a tertiary care hospital. A hospital based cross-sectional study显示文摘Purpose: Road traffic accidents (RTAs) are a public health issue and cost a lot to individuals, families, communities and nations. Trauma care systems in India are at a nascent stage of development. There is gross disparity between trauma services available in various parts of the country. Rural area in India has inefficient services for trauma care, due to the varied topography, financial constraints, and lack of appropriate health infrastructure. The present study is to study the trends of occurrence of RTA cases by month, week and time of accident occurrence as well as to research the types of vehicle involved in accidents and other various risk factors related to them.Methods: During 1st January 2017 to 31st December 2017, a hospital-based and cross-sectional study of RTA victims was conducted. The patients were admitted in emergency department of Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences, Saifai, Etawah, when stabilized, they were shifted to the orthopaedics and surgery ward.Results: In the study, 654 road accident victims were included, of which the majority were males (77.5%) and the most of them belonged to rural (67%). RTA victims according to the month of occurrence majority were found in January (12.5%) and evening was time of a day with maximum accidents (32.1%). | 15 | 肠结核与克罗恩病差异表达基因的全基因分析及FOXP3 mRNA表达的鉴别价值显示文摘背景:克罗恩病(CD)和肠结核(ITB)是有着相似表型的慢性肉芽肿性疾病,因此,找到一种生物标志物来鉴别这两种疾病是必要的。本研究旨在对ITB和CD的结肠标本进行全基因表达分析。同时,为了评价调节性T细胞的作用,我们对血清标本及结肠标本进行FOXP3 mRNA定量检测。方法:收集33名研究对象(CD患者、ITB患者及正常对照)血清和结肠组织配对样本,提取标本中的总RNA。采用Illumina HumanWG-6 BeadChip试剂盒对3组研究对象中的6种总RNA样本进行人类全基因组表达芯片分析。采用real-time PCR对具有合格RNA样本的病例(CD 4例,ITB 5例,正常对照4例)血清和组织标本进行FOXP3 mRNA表达水平检测。结果:在CD和ITB患者中,分别有92和382个基因表达上调1.5倍,91和256个基因表达下调1.5倍。过氧化物酶体增殖物介导的PPARγ信号通路在CD中下调最为显著(P<0.005);此外,IL4/5/6信号通路和Toll样受体信号通路也存在显著差异表达,上调2倍以上。而在ITB患者上调最为显著是补体活化通路尤其是经典通路。ITB患者结肠组织标本中FOXP3 mRNA表达水平明显高于CD患者(4.7062.21 vs 1.4860.31,P=0.016)。结论:结肠黏膜FOXP3 mRNA表达可作为鉴别ITB与CD的一项标志物。ITB患者补体激活通路的上调提示ITB的发病机制与肺结核相似。CD患者中PPARγ通路的下调提示PPARγ依赖的微生物屏障功能可能成为新的治疗靶点。 | Vineet Ahuja Swati Subodh Amit Tuteja Veena Mishra Sushil Kumar Garg Neha Gupta Govind Makharia SK Acharya | 2016 | Gastroenterology Report2016,4,1: | 0 |
| 16 | Job satisfaction and organizational commitment among nurses working on temporary versus permanent jobs at a tertiary care teaching hospital,Uttarakhand,India显示文摘Objective:The objective of this study was to assess and compare job satisfaction and organizational commitment among nurses working on temporary versus permanent basis at a tertiary care teaching hospital,Uttarakhand,India.Materials and Methods:A total of 250 nurses(125 temporary and 125 permanent)were selected using stratified disproportionate random sampling techniques from a tertiary care teaching hospital.Sociodemographic datasheet,Job Satisfaction Survey scale,and Organizational Commitment scale were used to collect data.Results:The study results revealed that the job satisfaction score was significantly higher in permanent nurses(139.1±15.4)than in temporary nurses(131.3±12.2)(P<0.001).However,temporary nurses(85.2±14.4)were more committed toward organization than permanent nurses(80.0±16.0)(P<0.001).There was a significant association between nurses’job satisfaction and their gross salary(P<0.001)and their organizational commitment with the selected profession by own will(P<0.001).Conclusion:The present study concluded that majority of temporary and permanent nurses reported a moderate level of job satisfaction and organizational commitment.This study suggests enhancing employee satisfaction can improve organizational commitment.As well,this study’s findings can serve as a valuable foundation for designing policies to enhance organizational commitment in the future. | Neha PANCHAL Suresh Kumar SHARMA Rakesh SHARMA Ritu RANI | 2022 | Journal of Integrative Nursing2022,4,4: | 0 |
